Worst customer service. Very unwelcoming, employees look miserable. Haley, one of the girls working there, needs extensive customer service training. I wanted to buy a fish, but she discouraged me into purchasing one, even though I have a large tank at home with a filter and heater system. Dont review that often but this aggravated me. Spoke to someone in the grooming department who was less than excited to speak with me from the get go. I've had a good experience with the grooming department here before so I wanted to schedule another appointment this time for not one but both of my dogs. The woman couldnt find me in their system which I find strange and hard to believe because I've gotten my Flat Coated Retriever groomed here before. Also because I regularly shop at PetCo. She was questioning me like I didnt know my own name, phone number, zip code and address. After putting my foot down I just asked if I can make an appointment because I had a good experience with you guys before. After bickering about name, address etc... She told me everything was filled up for the day I wanted to take my dogs in. At first I didnt mind the place always seemed a little dirty, in a location filled with homeless people wondering the parking lot and the filthiest bathrooms I've stepped foot in in a while. But now the costumer service has gone down the drain. Sorry PetCo, I guess you wont need to re enter my information seeing as youve lost my name and account because I dont think I'll be returning. read more

I went to Petco to buy a new aquarium for my snake. I asked a girl named Brice about the aquariums and she was very helpful. The aquarium she suggested was exactly what I was looking for. Incredible service! Just wanted to give a shoutout to Daisy. At least i hope that's who helped me, i forgot to ask her name but the receipt has that name on it. I was approached by her to see if i needed help and i did, i was lost trying to figure out what kind of medication my cat needed and she did everything possible to help me and be very informative. She mentioned she didn't have cats and was a dog owner instead, so for her to put in the effort on the research and the help she gave, it was very nice to see and definitely took some stress off my back on the research i would have had to do. This place really is A-OK, it's just a pet food store, I mean how bad can it be. Full Disclosure: I do not take our dog to be groomed here, and I guess many of the bad reviews are for the grooming. My reivew is for the store. The weirdest thing about this place is it's kind of hard to find. The location off the 55 S seems obvious, but then you drive into the parking lot and have to keep turning around to finally find the place. I would recommend more signage. But other than that, it's a perfectly normal place to buy pet supplies. The employee who helped me was helpful and courteous. I'd go back. read more

This is one of my favorite pet supply stores and I've been to quite a few all over the state. I try to only get my stuff here. You're greeted by a cashier every time you walk in, the employees are always willing to help, there's an awesome dog trainer that comes in and also I've seen people actually cleaning the cat kennels and playing with the cats. This might seem like stuff you'd typically see at any petco or petsmart, but many of the ones I've been to have filthy cages and sad looking animals. I always try to check out the cats and dogs when I find these stores and most of the time getting to pet one is a hassle if not impossible. Most stores have employees reluctant to open the cages or take the time to let you pet the animals. When I buy my dog food here in the morning someone is almost always at the cat kennels and gladly lets me pet the cats, and the cats seem pretty happy. The dog trainer is really good at what she does, shes been my go-to when I've adopted new dogs and the results speak for themself. Everything in the store is easy to find, everything is just really good here. The store hosts adoptions for cats and dogs. I was told greyhound adoptions are the first Sunday of each month but I haven't been able to catch one yet. Cat adoptions are every Saturday run by a volunteer organization. The volunteers really know their stuff and seem to love what they do. I'm clueless when it comes to cats but they were friendly and talked with me for a while while handling other customers. They have a whole set up which is really neat. The only thing that's kind of annoying are the people wandering this area of town, mostly on the streets outside the shopping center. It wouldn't be an issue but sometimes they'll come up asking for money in the parking lot. This isn't the store's problem though and there's nothing they can do about it, so I'm not sure why some ratings for this store reflect that.. The problem with reviews for pet stores is that most of the angry customers are completely clueless. You get morons upset that the store sells animal x, y, or z, OR they get upset that they don't sell animal x y or z. People who have no idea how to ASK for help when they need it and then leave a bad review are just ridiculous and they bring down the reputation of a genuinely good store. I can't recommend this petco highly enough. If you've got pets and live nearby this is the best place to go. The people here actually seem to care. read more

The store itself is pretty good. Cashier is always nice and they seem to have a steady staff. I've seen the same lady there for years and she's pleasant, so I appreciate the consistency. What I LOVE about this location is the grooming staff. Amy is amazing! I've been bringing my little guy to her for over 5 years. She's always accommodating with my schedule and she does a great job. My dog is skittish, but he's comfortable going there and he always comes out very handsome. Watch out for an asian lady at the grooming. Her name is Christina. She scared the hell out my dog. My dog needed to trim nails. then the lady asked me that my dog is friendly and I cleary said that my dog is friendly. Then the lady tried to take my dog but my dog was totally freaking out because she pulled the leash too hard and made my dog choking in front of me. She treated my dog like sh*t. If I didnt caution to her, she might have kept doing that for gods sake. When she was trimming her nails, she put a muzzle on my dog even I told her that my dog is friendly. My dog got scared againg and actually peed on the floor which she never had. Thank you petco for hired someone who abuses animals. Now my dog is seriously traumatized. read more

I got our puppy groomed here and it was good. The groomer was 20 minutes late for our appointment so that bugged me a little. Otherwise our puppy looks good. But the bathrooms at Petco where not the cleanest. They need to work on that. read more

After calling many different groomers in the area, I decided to make an appointment at this petco after the man I spoke with told me about a puppy package for $10.00. The package seemed great so I made an appointment for the following day. When I arrived, they did not have me scheduled and told me it was "one of their irresponsible worker's nights so he probably didn't record it." I said it was fine and dropped off my putty, and agreed to just wait for them to call when he had been groomed. I looked at the quote and it was for "$25-45" dollars. I asked about it being $10 and they said they had never heard of that. I will never go here again. It was unorganized, unprofessional, and falsely advertised. read more

I took my two boston terriers in to this Petco because I was out of dog food. While I was in there I decided it would be a good idea for my girls (dogs lol) to get their nails clipped. I thought the grooming staff was excellent. I think the girl that helped me was named mallory? Super sweet girl! You could definitely tell she genuinely cared for dogs because she gave my girls lots of love and attention. The manager even made sure I was happy with my experience while I was waiting. The girl did say that it does get really busy and a lot of times they're short staffed so maybe that's why the ratings are so low. I for one, was happy with my experience there and would definitely go back for my dog's nails. I gave four stars because their selection of dog toys and beds was pretty limited, otherwise it would have been a 5! read more

I'm not sure why the reviews for this Petco are so bad... I've been in three times since I got my new goldendoodle puppy and the employees have been MORE than helpful. I brought my 9 month old lab here for a bath, nail clipping, and ear cleaning for the first and last time. The staff was barely friendly. They didn't even have clear menu of services with the pricing. They quoted me a few hours. I came back to pick up my dog after 3 hours to be rudely greeted and told its a Saturday and he wasn't ready. I said how long and she again with an attitude told me 20 minutes. Okay. So I went into the store and did some shopping. When I was checking out she made sure to run over and had the cashier my bill before I even got my dog. When I went back to get him, they didn't even make eye contact with me. Never again. read more

I stopped shopping at this store after I saw a huge black rat race across one of the aisles. I stopped two employees who were standing around and asked them if the rat was wild or an escaped pet. They said that the rat was wild and then one employee said, "Yeah, he pees on everything" and then both of the employees burst out laughing, and I just walked away. I only come here once a week to get crickets for my leopard gecko. I usually go in the mornings, because it's convenient for me. Unfortunately, every time I come, there is an older lady working the only opened cash register. She seriously needs to work on her customer service skills and manners. As soon as I come to the store, I always ask the cashiers for the amount of crickets I need, they ask someone to bring them in through the intercom, I pay, and wait for them to bring it to the front. Once I came to the store and she was talking on the phone, for a couple of minutes before she even acknowledged me. I guess that after letting me hear enough of her personal conversation, she decided to hang up and rudely ask me what I needed. I told her about the crickets, she spoke through the intercom, and went to the dog treats bar to hang out around there. 5 minutes passed, no crickets... I asked her if somebody was gonna bring them, so she made the announcement again. After another 5 minutes, somebody finally brought them. While I was checking out, she told me to enter my phone number for the rewards. As I was entering the number, the machine suddenly said to wait for cashier, so I told her what it said, and she said "NO, YOUUUUU have to enter your phone number" with a tone. I felt so offended with the way she treated me, I asked to speak with her manager. He didn't care much about her lack of customer service skills. I felt that my business was by no means appreciated. I am not going back there. I will have to drive a bit further to get the darn crickets elsewhere, but I'm not stepping a foot in a store where people treat the customers like they are not important, regardless of what I buy. read more

Store looks outstanding, staff is vigilant and attentive, and I always find what I am looking for for my two cats, Mnoochee and Bagels. One person stands out in particular beyond a doubt, she always works the cash register, an older lady, who is so very polite. She makes the experience worth while. I take my English bulldog Panda to Christina and her alone. Panda has very sensitive skin and she always leaves extremely comfortable and smelling like a flower. Christina even goes out of her way to paint her nails and it makes her (and me secretly) so happy. This Petco always has what I need and their grooming department is always on point. Panda gets soaked and treated like a princess and I am always so pleased when she comes home. Thank you Christina sooooo much for knowing everything that needs to be done and doing it!!!! I called ahead and spoke to Christina she was so kind over the phone answered all my questions and then was wonderful to my dog Ana. I was very thankful I found her today and will be going back and asking for her. My dog came out all smiles and happy so I knew she had a great experience. Before I picked her up I stopped into the store and picked up some supplies, they may be a smaller store but they are mighty they have everything you need. I just got a new puppy and she was glad to speak to me giving me great tips. Super informative and helpful in every way imaginable. Not only that but I had ordered a crate online which was delayed and I was desperate for it and she helped me by picking up an even nicer one in store that same very day and gladly allowed me to bring in the one I had ordered when it arrives. I came here with my new poodle pup the other day, and was surprised to find barely any workers in the store. It was hard to find help, but the cashier Charlie was able to recommend food + supplies while thoroughly answering all of my questions about diet and flea medication. I have been to this petco several times, but I think is time to stop. Everytime I go in I got horrible costumer service. We went to buy a hamster and we had to wait like 20min until we could finally ask someone to get us the hamster. The exact same thing happened the other times when I was trying to buy some fish. There is only 2 workers and they seem to always be busy at the cashier. HIRE MORE PEOPLE PETCO! I also have to say that the manager will talk with you for half an hour if you want to buy any pet. I was reading a very racist review about the groomer I take my dog to. I just wanted to set the record straight. I take my teacup chihuahua Wilson to Christina (the stunning asian worker) and she is absolutely wonderful with him. Wilson is a very tiny, sensitive, and skittish one year old. He gets anxiety when we are around new people, and Christina just has a way with him. She trims his nails (which he hates) as well as bathes him (he hates water) and he is so comfortable with her doing so. It makes me feel very safe that my dog feels so comfortable around her. I wouldn't feel comfortable taking Wilson anywhere else. I strongly recommend you disregard any negative review about this worker, I've watched her with my pride and joy and she takes great precaution to give myself and my boy the best experience she can. The only reason why this place is getting a 2 star is because it is pretty close to my work so I can just swing by to get my dogs food on my way home at night and also because they always have my dogs food in stock. If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my two dogs in for a simple nail trim and five minutes in they tell me to take my dog back because he bit them which is the first time he's ever bit a groomer in his 13 years. So I picked him up and took him to my car and low and behold there is blood all over me and him and they run after me and tell me to bring him back because he's bleeding. So I do and they attempt to clean him up and put the quick stop on but it's not just stopping. I'm furious there's blood everywhere so much that you could smell it. I said so you hurt my dog and we are punished because he nipped you. I would have bit her too if she did that to me, no wonder. They said there is nothing they can do about it and it is policy to not take the dog anymore. I said so you hurt my dog and cause him to bite you and he's punished that makes no sense. They said sorry for your experience but it's policy. I will never ever bring my dogs back to this place again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else does either their nail trimmer needs to be trained. read more

Word to the wise - In somewhere over 40 years of doing business with virtually every type of business, this organization ranks clearly at the top for absolutely the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. In April, 2009, my daughter took her perfectly, healthy Pom in to this location to be groomed. When she picked him up, he was obviously in discomfort and continued to cry in pain and refused to urinate. The groomer had given him what is called "clipper burn" in his genitals and the poor thing was miserable. She returned to Petco where they sprayed something on him. Several days later, the dog's misery was killing my daughter. She again contacted them and they suggested a vet for her to see. Some $200 later, she left with antibiotic and pain medication. Gradually over the next week, he was healing and feeling better. We have been FIGHTING with this company, UNBELIEVABLE run around, email to the CEO of Petco and now THREE 1/2 months later, we have no recourse but small claims - which we will file this week. I will never ever do business with this company again and will make a point of letting every person I know about their terrible business etthics! They should be ashamed of themselves!! read more

Love coming to this store, everyone is always so helpful. My dog just had allergy testing done and apparently allergic to everything in most foods. Anthony spent 15 min going over my print out to find a food specifically for my dog and was so helpful. He helped carry the bag out to my car and I offered him a tip and would not accept and replied with, "no thank you, this is my job." What a nice gentleman. read more

I tried to purchase a travel dog cup on a weekday late afternoon. One overwhelmed employee was handling register, store, and many phone enquiries at once. Her second employee only handled one person at a second register. After 5 minutes I could finally asked where I would find the cup. Once all phone calls were handled she indicated the aisle. I selected the cup, supposedly small size for $9.95. Back to the register. Meanwhile employee 3 had returned from a break and promptly disappeared in the back. Employee 2 grabbed her bag and went on a break even though a number of people were in line. The one and only repeatedly paged for register help. No one appeared. Employee 3 was nowhere to be found. Once I finally got to the register - after 20 minutes - it turned out the cup was mislabeled and priced at $14 and change. I canceled the purchase and left. This Petco has serious staff management issues and I will not return. Maybe in store customers should receive more attention than all the phone calls! read more
