I 1000% recommend OC canine coaching. My Chihuahua/Xolo 1-year old, Patty Lupe, is a rescue, a former street dog from Tijuana, and I was worried she would never be able to just enjoy walks. She would bark at everyone and everything, and was just SO anxious and nervous (understandably) in public. Other trainers we looked into wanted to use shock collars and other more aggressive forms of discipline on her, but I knew Patty didn't need more trauma to help her calm down. Bryndon, on the other hand, was patient, kind, and used treats and other strategies to help Patty gradually feel comfortable on walks. When he got her to go into a dog park - WITH NO LEASH - I was literally speechless (in a good way!). I never thought that would be an option for Patty, but here she was going up to other dogs and walking around without growling, barking, or lunging at them. After 4-5 weeks of training, I'm now able to take Patty to a dog park on my own, off leash, and she actually PLAYS with other dogs all on her own! I literally teared up the first time I saw her running and playing with other dogs; this was something I never thought would happen because so many other people and trainers told me that Patty would probably always be aggressive and scared. Took some time to write this review to get some feedback from our vet, our current trainer and other pet owners.... Let me start off saying if you have any type of dog that has any separation anxiety, barking at the front door, no knowledge of basic commands and does not like associating with other dog he is NOT a trainer for you. We contacted Bryndon off of yelp, seeing his 5 star reviews made us confident we were going to get a good trainer for our rescue. (Wishing now I could have seen his 1 star review). He came and saw us (charged a consultation fee, which is normal) and "evaluated" our dog. We (2 young college students) told him we picked up our dog from the pound because we were interested in rescuing and we needed to get a good trainer in order to be safe and responsible pet owners. We listed off our problem (which I would think are pretty normal for dogs, especially rescues) which I've stated above. He seemed pretty alarmed by her problem but assured us he could help. Unfortunately he'd never be able to help. Throughout our couple sessions together he did not teach our dog ANYTHING. She did not learn one new thing from his training. He did not successfully teach her to sit on command, he did not successfully teach her how to wear her muzzle, he did not successfully teach her how to not bark at the door. Forget any type of aggression training because he simply did not know one thing. He continuously placed a fake dog in-front of our dog and just videoed her but did not give any instructions or any type of correction training. (When I told both my vet and current trainer this they actually were one concerned he did this over and over again and two laughed at the fact he believed it could help.) HALFWAY through our training I contacted him and told him if there was anyway we could get a refund for our remaining training session because we clearly could tell he was not able to train her and she had ran into a problem at our apartment community (involing something he was supposed to be training/helping her in) he said no. Which I unfortunately regret even asking him because he stated he could help more which he never did. We were asking for a refund because we could tell that our dog needed either a board and train program or even a trainer that is CERTIFIED and/or works with aggressive dogs. But clearly he is not educated enough or trained enough to be doing any type of work with any aggressive and/or dogs that aren't puppies or even slightly difficult to train. After that conversation of refund for upcoming training sessions, he continued to not trainer dog anything. All that was done during session was a bunch of treat giving and going on walks. I would NOT recommend this trainer to anyone. It makes us frustrated and irritated that ONE he was not able to help us with anything let alone one thing. TWO, kept putting my dog in the same positions with the stuffed animal IN FRONT OF OUR APARTMENT COMPLEX knowing she'd attack every time but not doing or teaching anything to try and help/stop it. THREE he showed us videos that we should do that we could EASILY find on YouTube. FOUR took money from us knowing he does not have the ability to help us in any way. I could go on... our trainer and vet has pointed out many more things that seem to be a problem with his program. I high do NOT recommend this trainer there's plenty more on yelp that will get your needs done. read more

Words cannot express how lucky we are to have found Bryndon! We adopted our dog Finley from a boxer rescue knowing he had some mild behavioral issues but thinking we could handle it...When we brought him home we discovered he was actually very leash aggressive towards DOGS AND PEOPLE on walks which was not great considering we live in a condo community. From the beginning Bryndon took the time to get to know Finn slowly(Finn had previously jumped and lunged at another trainer who approached him a little too quickly) and let him get comfortable with him. He helped us realize that Finn just didn't know how to react to new people and dogs and that we needed to work on positive associations with those things. In my initial review I wrote that I thought Bryndon would need to work harder at trying me than Jack. That absolutely was/is the case. After finishing a package of six lessons over 10 weeks I signed up for another package. The main reason is I am just beginning to gain the confidence to correct the situation on a consistent basis. One reason for that is I have come to appreciate how much Jack appreciates boundaries. Bryndon could tell the clicker training was not natural for me so he made adjustments to help me to feel comfortable. He knows sits...the foundation for everything. I don't want to know where we would be without OC Canine Coaching. After 3 sessions of PetSmart training we dropped out because our puppy was too out of control and was not getting the special attention she needed in a large classroom setting. We were referred to Bryndon by our Doggy Day Care and I knew he was the right trainer for us after our initial phone conversation. I was thoroughly impressed with Bryndon's professionalism. Not only was he on time for every single session, he was always prepared with an array of training supplies and even a training guide for us to study. This training guide is so informative, that we keep it on the counter and refer to it daily when we work with the dog. Also, his vast knowledge of canine nutrition helped us clear up some minor skin and coat issues our puppy was having. Besides his professionalism, I was impressed by the immediate results we got from Bryndon's training techniques. We had a whole new puppy by the time he left after our first session. What struck me the most was that he spent the better part of our first session talking to us. I realize now that he was evaluating not only our dog, but us as well. He not only taught our dog how to behave, but taught us how to work with her on our own as well. We have an 8 year old Coton and we really needed help in getting him under control. We want to adopt another dog but when the adoption interviewers brought the potential dog to our house our dog barked excessively. We were pretty sure that it was not the new dog but the new people in our house, but still we could not continue to have our dog bark every time we had guests. The interviewers recommended we call Bryndon and contract with him to help with the issue and wow we are so glad we did. On the first session he brought his adorable black lab to help in making sure that our dog did not have an issue with other dogs. Bryndon is very calm in assessing the behavioral issues and after the first session he assessed our dogs anxiety with other people and gave us the tools and techniques needed to get our dog to a calmer state. After 3 sessions and using the techniques we are now on our way to having a much calmer dog and being able to have people over. Upon moving back to California, my older dog's behavior was horrible. We moved into a studio apartment that has thin walls and she started barking constantly from people walking down the hallway, the UPS man, trucks, etc. Her reactivity was also high as she was triggered by any dog that would bark at her. I tried everything that I could, spent a lot of money on things that didn't work, and then decided that I needed to find someone that could help. After a really frustrating morning, I was getting my car washed and jumped on Yelp and found Bryndon's profile and read the reviews. It seemed that a lot of people have put their faith in him, and I decided to give him a call. We met shortly thereafter and my dog started to respond to his corrections within about 15 minutes. It is funny that something can change so fast. But the key is to use the right methods for that change. The outcome is that I don't have to fear getting calls from the management office with complaints about my dog. Instead I now have become hyper aware of all the dogs that we should stay away from because their owners haven't taken the time and put in the effort to help their four-legged friend. We recently retained Bryndon to help us with our 3 month old almost 4 pound Pomeranian Lily Rose. Bryndon was very insightful and knowledgeable. He reviewed our living arrangements and made suggestions that helped immediately. He walked the play areas and pointed out problems like poison plants and hawks.
