They do a great job grooming here and the self-wash is easy to use and they have everything you could need! Everyone is so kind and helpful.

I just LOVE Pennys! Everyone that works there is so nice, I love the self wash stations. My dog loves it. I've tried to take him to other self washes and they stress him out but at Pennys he is relaxed loves the employees and dogs. It's very reasonable definitely worth $16 (because I bring my own shampoo) but they do have all the tools and shampoos if you need them. It's always clean and I just love this place! read more

I have been coming to Penny's pup wash for years twice a month . Employees over the years have been very friendly and helpful. Today I walked up right at 5:15 and another employee that I have never seen before walked out and said she cannot take me, I said it's 5:15 and she said no sorry I can't take you. It's not 5:15. It's 516. Because of this, I will not come back read more

I used to take my dog Tobby to PetSmart, and every visit was heartbreaking. He would shake and I'd have to drag him inside. It was clear he was anxious and uncomfortable. Then we found Amy--and everything changed. Now, Tobby runs to her and doesn't want to leave! His reaction says it all. he feels safe, happy, and truly cared for with Amy. She's incredibly skilled, a total perfectionist, and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Every grooming session is flawless. Thank you so much, Amy, for being amazing at what you do. We're so lucky to have found you! read more

Definitely worth the wait. Amy did an absolutely amazing job- kind, attentive, and professional. My baby is happy, glowing, and clearly so well cared for. Having a groomer you can truly trust is priceless. I'm a loyal customer for life and can't thank you enough. THANK YOU, AMY! read more

They're the best. I love the staff and they always give our dog incredible service. Their prices are great for Newport and we can usually get an appointment within a few days, almost unheard of at our previous dog groomer. read more

Marylou we love you! She always does a great job with our dog. He's afraid of water and about 70 lbs so we have a really hard time trying to bathe him at home without a bathtub. She always is super diligent and goes really quick. Our dog is a pitty mix so he has short fur and he always smells AMAZING when we pick him up. Another sign that tells us to keep coming back is he's always excited to go in the door once we park. This is definitely our spot from now on :) read more

I love their big bath tubs. Also that they have stairs for the big dogs. They have all the tools, shampoos and all the towels you need. Not to mention you can dry your pups in the back. read more

Love how they take care of my girls! Highly recommend taking your dogs here. I normally take my dogs to self wash but on occasion I will get they groomed. Either way, you can't go wrong. Love this place! read more

Penny's Pup Wash is the unsung hero and savior for my dog whilst living in OC. Since I don't have a yard to bathe her in, I am so thankful this place exists! I have a German Shepherd who is definitely too big and a bit fragile since she's 10 years old to just put in my tub. I needed a place that offered self wash stations which I would say was pretty abundant in Northern California, but is pretty scarce down here. Upon visiting, there were several tubs that were clean and ready to use. They had movable stairs to help the dogs into the bath tubs, aprons, towels, and a bath caddy full of grooming supplies. The caddy had different types or shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, paw cleaners, scrubbers, cotton, etc. There was also a container of combs and brushes to borrow, and towels are supplied as well. Once you are done bathing your pup, there are also blow dryers outside. Staff is really sweet and helpful as well! This is just your one stop spot for grooming, and the atmosphere is incredible. I love coming here and so does my pup. read more

Reasonable priced with all basic necessities where you need it to be. Cute interior and vibe!

I've had my dog wash by their staff and I have used the self wash, I am pleased with both and would definitely recommend them to anyone. My dog had bilateral TPLO surgery less than a year ago and the staff took great care of her during her wash! Great price point for my 70lb husky at only $90. Made sure to leave them a great tip and look forward to next time. Oh one more thing to add is they have a great website that lets you book appointments rather than having to call. Very convenient! read more

Great experience at Penny's every time. My big white Lab comes home shiny and clear! Great service, great people, clean dog!!

First time for me and my puppy at a self-serve wash. Staff was great, and explained how everything worked as well as gave me a hand to get started. It was really fun to watch my puppy observe the other dogs and mirror their calm behavior which he doesn't always do at home. We also got to experience our first time blow drying him, which he quickly became accustomed to, again, I think because he was watching the other dogs. Staff checked in during the wash to make sure we were good. 10/10 recommend read more

This is such a great place. I was killing myself trying to find groomers to wash my 107 lb golden retriever, everywhere I went it cost $75-$200. Finally, I broke down and did it myself at this DIY puppy wash salon. Best idea ever! We had a great time. Super cute claw-footed tubs (for photos!) and drying stations I'd never had access to before. My dog loved it and we got out of there for only $23! read more

We have been taking our dogs here for years and always super happy with the service and grooming.

Daisy is the best! We've been coming to her for several years now and the boys absolutely love her.

We are grateful to have this cute and affordable self service pet wash in the OC. Our Milo can be a pain in the butt to wash but this place makes it easy with their large tubs, outdoor drying station, and friendly service. You don't have to bring anything and we saved so much time not having to clean up his hair afterward! Excited to be regulars .. read more

What a great place. Make the task ( washing my dogs) so easy. So convenient! The atmosphere is super nice. The place is super cute. The girl that works there ( I asked her name but I already forgot) is super helpful and friendly! read more

We used to take our dog to Caroline and she had been doing a fantastic job. If it wasn't for the other person who works there (maybe the manager) we would still be going there. The other person with the tattoos isn't friendly. She's rude and stares when you pick up your dog. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable with her touching my puppy and always made sure she wouldn't be. She's very aggressive and forgets she's running a customer service driven business. I would call ahead and ask who would be servicing you and your puppy before making an appointment to make sure it's not her. Caroline did a great job on our puppy but the customer service is now sub par since she left. read more

Booked an appointment for 2 weeks out. Confirmed the appointment the week before and then 40 minutes prior to my appointment, someone called me and asked, "Is your dog good with other dogs, and can IT be in the kennel for long periods of time? If not then you have to do self wash because we get really busy and he will be in a kennel for a while" Not only was the worker extremely rude on the phone, but she also completely lost any business of mine and I will not be even using their self wash. Wish someone would have asked me this sooner as I scheduled my entire day around this. Super unprofessional and rude. Revision: Spoke to the owner after making the review and he sincerely apologized and offered to groom my dog himself. Appreciate the effort on his part but had already made a new appointment somewhere else as I needed my dog to be groomed asap. Thanks for your help Jason! read more

Best pup wash there is! My husky has always been difficult one to wash but at pennys she is much calmer and enjoys the atmosphere

I'm so impressed! My cat is long-haired and doesn't enjoy being groomed. Miguel did a wash and de-tangling and my boy is so soft and clean! Miguel was so patient and walked me through everything. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Penny's Pup Wash to friends and family. I love that they have self-serve tubs for dogs too. read more

What a great place to wash your pup! With tall tubs, shampoos and everything you need to make cleaning your baby easy, it's the best place in town! The food they sale is unsurpassed quality for amazing prices. You wont find anything better anywhere. The Lamb includes the heart, liver and the Rabbit, Beef and Chicken includes the neck and all the best parts for your dog! It smells great! Sadly, its in the grooming arena where their customer service falls short. The quality of cuts are fabulous, and great stuff to behold, indeed! However, their communication skills are sorely lacking but the greed is not and really needs improved upon at this hidden gem of an Oasis located in the far back corner behind the KFC Also! Your pup needs 4-5 HOURS for wash, cut and blow-dry! NOT 1 1/2 hour time frame stated in the confirmation email! It's very misleading, inconvenient and needs honest transparency! They know most people wouldn't book if they knew this time frame! It's unfair to tell you last minute, so I'm telling you as they should. Your dog will be crated for hours read more

First time I brought my fur baby here with Karla. The first thing I noticed was that my fur baby was not shaking as he usually would after grooming in the past. Wow! MaryLou at Penny's Pup Wash was amazing. Despite being slammed pre-4th-of-July, she and I arranged for me to bring in a shelter dog that had been pulled from her 6 month stint on her execution-day. Her bathing & grooming was desperately needed, as this poor girl had been living in her own filth. She had fecal matter caked & matted into her hind legs, chest, belly, tail (and I even found clumps of it on her neck). She smelled horrible, and I'm sure she felt crummy too. MaryLou was very kind and patient with Coconut, and made sure she felt comfortable during her bath. She did an excellent job working out all of the crud (I think MaryLou needed to wash/rinse 4+ times to get Coconut clean), brushed out TONS of stuck shed, and helped Cococonut look and feel fantastic! MaryLou and Penny's Pup Wash are wonderful, and Coconut's charming-good-looks should help greatly in finding her a forever home! Thank you so much, you are greatly appreciated. read more

First time visit for our puppy & we'll be back! Very friendly & helpful. Explained what was available & how to use it all. A pleasant experience for our pup having a warm bath vs a cold one outside since she's a big dog. Has dryers outside as well. We would highly recommend the self serve option!! I gave it 4 stars out of 5 since once all the tubs were in use we kept losing the hot water so plan accordingly . read more
