Before today's incident, Petco was my go-to spot for grooming. But today I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the grooming salon. When I picked up my dog, I immediately noticed a fresh wound on her neck underneath her collar -- a wound that was not mentioned to me at all. When I brought it up, two of staff acted confused and was told that the main girl who did the grooming informed me about it, which was not the case. Even when I received a call saying she was ready for pickup, I was told that her nail was chipped...but nothing about this wound. As a pet owner, transparency is the bare minimum. Accidents can happen, but hiding them or pretending they didn't occur is unacceptable. Instead of informing me so I could properly care for it. The lack of accountability, communication, and honesty is enough for me to not return. If they can't be upfront about something as important as an injury, I don't feel comfortable trusting them with my dog again. I hope they take responsibility and improve their practices, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place. read more

I had an awesome experience at Petco thanks to Nathan. I came in looking for an enclosure for a praying mantis, and he went above and beyond to help me find the right setup. He also took the time to give me a ton of useful information about creating a proper home and caring for the mantis. Nathan was knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and genuinely seemed interested in making sure I had everything I needed instead of just trying to sell me something. That kind of customer service is hard to find. Petco management should absolutely know what a great employee and representative they have in Nathan. I usually do online orders and pick up in store but on two separate occasions, my orders have been marked as picked up/complete when I didn't pick them up. These aren't cheap orders - like $100-$150 worth of JustFoodForDogs frozen packs. Each time I've had to call Petco and figure out what happened. Staff doesn't check IDs here so there's no telling who picked it up. Latest was today when I got an email for a 905 pick up; but the store closed at 9. Management here definitely needs to change the process; the Petco in Redlands checks ID for order pick-ups to specifically avoid this headache. read more

I always get a little anxious when going to a new groomer. Today when I picked up My Little Snickers. A Malchi. He was so excited and happy. I was very happy with the results of his grooming. Julio had done exactly what I have requested of his grooming. Tina, the manager took the time and thoughtfulness to help me get him ready to leave. Our Doodle came home seriously uneven, and the nails were not even trimmed. $120 for a bath and a short cut that was mediocre is excessive. Thank goodness I can fix this mess. After trying several groomers around Corona, we finally decided to give Petco a try. Nataly took care of our boy Meeko and we absolutely loved his cut! She asked us what we wanted and gave us exactly that. Took about 2 hours, which isn't bad. I feel she took her time to make him look handsome. I bought the Arcadia t5 uvb kit went home and installed it but i had a hard time installing the bulb. I returned to the location to see if they can help me install the bulb , and realizing the bulb was blown, the gentleman at the cash register tried to help as best he could, but was unsuccessful. He then called Ashley,she was busy helping another guest with purchasing hamsters, she radioed over she would come help soon as she can. When she came up and greeted me I explained everything and we proceeded to get a new kit, I asked her if she could politely install the bulb for me as I was having a hard time installing it. She gladly did and explained and showed me how to change future bulbs. She was very kind and it shows she genuinely loves her job! She was awesome! I get being late means your late but this is just unprofesional, missed the apointment and had to go home. Extremely Disappointed with Vetco Vaccine Clinic Experience I visited the Vetco vaccine clinic for a simple SNAP test--something that should take five minutes, tops. Unfortunately, every time I encounter Lynn Humphrey (who frankly should not be addressed as "Dr." anymore), it turns into an exhausting ordeal. I've dealt with her multiple times, and each experience has been consistently frustrating. She is combative, uncooperative, and appears increasingly incapable of handling even basic procedures. This visit was no different. Staff looked for every possible excuse not to perform the test--clearly out of laziness, not policy. When I asked the Vetco "manager" (unsure of name; a Latina woman with braces) to show me written guidelines supporting their refusal, she couldn't provide a single document. I stood firm because I know the policies and I knew they were making excuses. Once they realized I wasn't backing down, they reluctantly agreed to perform the test. Even then, Humphrey handled the situation poorly. My cat was completely calm--no hissing, no fighting--yet she acted irrationally fearful and handled him with unnecessary roughness. If a vet cannot handle a calm cat without being rough or nervous, they do not belong in this field. It's painfully obvious that she is no longer mentally or emotionally competent for this role and should not be entrusted with animals. I sincerely hope that this review leads to an investigation into Dr. Humphrey's conduct and prompts meaningful changes in how this Vetco clinic is managed. Pet owners should not have to advocate so aggressively just to receive basic care. To be clear, this complaint is not directed at the store or its employees--they've always been helpful and professional. My issue lies solely with the Vetco clinic operating inside. Unfortunately, there's no direct way to leave a review specifically for the clinic. If anyone knows how to escalate this to Vetco corporate or report this veterinarian through proper channels, please let me know--I will gladly move this review to the correct place. I know Humphrey works primarily at the Traitwein Vetco so I will be leaving a review there as well. read more

Overall it went well. I was walking around just trying to see what they had before I picked up my online order. I forgot I needed Churo treats for my sphynx and someone asked if I needed help and they showed me where they were. The workers are nice and talkative and it was an easy quick experience. Every body is Rude & Disrespectful. Whole bunch of idiots hired to work at the same location. I brought my Pup for a haircut cut here last week. On the wall it says they cut & trim nails and clean ears. When I got my puppy back nothing was done other than haircut. So when I asked about it The girl on the counter started telling me that it's all done. If I'm not satisfied Go somewhere else. Is this the way Petco trains the staff to talk to the customers. The lady was very rude and I kind of felt that she is racist and rude. Because she also made a couple of comments which I'm emailing to the corporate today. I think Petco should pay real attention to this location because it has 2.5 rating and most of the people have the same complaints. Terrible experience with cashier at South Corona store. she treated me in hate racist way, very rude. She is white, over weight with black short hair about 25 years old. I am 70 year old man. Set up a grooming appt 30 days in advance. At 12:30pm on Sunday before our 2:15pm appt they called to tell us they needed to talk to the Vet, who is of course closed on a Sunday afternoon, to confirm our dog that has seizures fully controlled by medication could be groomed. We confirmed that he hasn't had a seizure in more than 9 mos. Why did they wait until the last minute? They were too busy during this holiday time even though they had 30 days! Asked manager to make it right and get them in tomorrow after speaking with Vet, but they couldn't/wouldn't. Based on other yelp reviews about the grooming dept, probably best thing. Cancelling all of my repeat orders (over $500 per month not including the other shopping we do) and they lost out on grooming that would have exceeded $200 per month. Decent customer service is hard to find these days, but not at this Petco! As soon as we looked lost we were offered help and later, when we sought out additional advice, the employee seemed knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping us solve our problem. I took appointment with the doctors at this location for my pup. When I went in to my surprise the doctor was sitting in one of the aisles there's no room no proper equipment nothing. And because the doctor had no room a couple of pets which were little aggressive doctor was unable to service them and was saying no to them. The reason she gave was that if the animal will run loose will not be able to catch him in the whole store which was understandable. Petco should at least provide a room or a small cabin to the doctor. So zero starts for the arrangement. This is not my views this was everybody's views whoever we're standing in the line. Also the doctor really wanted to book my pup for nutrient and microchip so the facts she gave, for totally wrong. Can somebody explain me that if I'll not get my dog fixed how can he have cancer and other health issues. Anyway I'm not going back to this doctor or this location anymore. My wife accidentally booked the appointment for The grooming. Because it was booked in advance I did I decided to give a chance. When I went there the groomer was working on another pup but again, if you're late or if you're booking back to back you should have arrangement of at least somebody to sit. I asked the front register girl who was rude enough to tell me that no we do not have any arrangements of sitting and waiting for your turn. Is this so difficult to put a couple of chairs for at least old people. I saw a old lady she was very grumpy because her groomer was also working on another puppy and she was waiting for last 17-20 minutes. If Petco as a company cannot see the reviews and learn how to fix them that's very shameful as I saw the star rating for this location is very low. I bet if a mom and pop shop will open nearby. The manager TINA is racist towards Black people. My first encounter with her she accused me of having a fake coupon. She didn't try to scan it or even pull up my account that shows I'm a Vital Core member. I showed the email and she said no. I went to another Petco and was helped with no problem. I contacted Corporate and they tried to remedy the situation. Since then, two more incidents have happened. One where she was helping a line of people in front of me and when it was my turn she told me she was closing her check stand and wait for the next. Two days ago, she made me feel uncomfortable again for the third time. I exited the store and told my mom who was waiting in the car so she went in and bought something to see if it was just me and she made my mom uncomfortable as well. Not sure I understand the concept of Buy Online and Pick Up in Store. The front registers/check out is where you'd go to pay but it's the same as order pick up? It's not convenient at all. This is the second time coming into Petco after ordering Buy Online and Pick Up in Store. And both times I had to wait in line and both times there has been a delay. So basically I could have walked to the back where the dog food is located, picked it up, went to the front and paid for it by the time my BOPIS order was done. I guess maybe the concept isn't the same as going to Target or the Home Depot where they actually have a dedicated register/area for BOPIS orders. Worst petco location ever. Moved to this area and used their grooming dept since I always had a great experience at the previous petco I lived by. NEVER AGAIN. They butchered my dog's coat and were so rude. Also, the store employees were not very pleasant either. This location is also not stocked very well and is dirty. They told me it was because of the rabies vaccine (which is once a year), I showed them he got it in January and he's only 9 months. We come here for all of our skinny pigs needs (hay, paper bedding, pellets and toys). They always have a good selection and the employees are knowledgeable about piggies. Tami saved us big time today by finding a price match on my dogs frontline. Gotta love that. read more
