Very disappointed in Romel who groomed my cat Milo He told me Milo is not welcomed back When he's groomed her over the years a few times, He said she bit him My cat has never bitten anyone And I would think as a professional he should be able to handle the animal , terrible I will not be returning

I have been taking my shih tzu here for the past 3 years and I would never let my Cookie get groomed anywhere else, not kidding. Joey is always gentle and caring with her and she is always so happy when I pick her up. PS: I recommend signing up for Vital Care with Petco. Vital Care gives you perks for grooming and etc. Their grooming prices are already reasonable but with Vital Care, Cookie gets 30% off :))

She did not have that before her grooming appt

Brought my pitbull in for grooming she came back with a red bump on her head wtf!! Ears was not cleaned .. private part was not cleaned (female pit) she did not smell fresh or nothing they did nails ok I guess ..... but I would not recommend getting your pet groomed here sorry petco .. least this location I guess ... ohhhhhh to add to this we had a 6pm appt but the lady said she had 2 other dogs to do to pick up my dog by 8:30 pm so my dog was basically sitting In a hot cage until then they did the bars minimum to her as well.... Don't know the groomers name but I will try to find out !!! This is unacceptable 70$ for what !?

Brought my other dog here yesterday, and I noticed immediately that there was significantly less upselling. Not sure if it was because the store is on top of reviews or if because they knew I'd been there before, but I definitely appreciated it. So here's something new I discovered. This dog is 50-55 lbs while my other dog that I took to Petco last week is 105-110 lbs depending on how much he's eaten that week lol, but the way that Petco works its pricing is super weird. I mean, I'm not complaining for my 105 lb dog, but you'd think that if you have a dog that's literally 50% smaller, the pricing would be different, but if I had opted for the same exact packages for both, both dogs would've come up similar in price! $55ish for the actual basic bath for my 55 lb dog (vs I think $65 for my big dog) + $30 deshedding (same for both dogs) + specialty shampoo and conditioner at $7 extra each would've come up to about $110 with tax, I think.......and last week I paid $120 for a dog that was twice the size. Anyway, that isn't really a complaint, because I opted to go just for the basic-basic-basic, and with a $10 off coupon, the total came out to under $50 yesterday (amazing!) - I just wanted to point it out the weird pricing structure so people are aware. Andrew (I think he's a groomer) took care of my 2nd dog yesterday, and I had a good experience. He was attentive and really went out of his way to be helpful, and he was literally done with my dog in a matter of maybe an hour or hour and a half. My dog looked shiny and great, and even though I hadn't opted for the deshedding, it was obvious that he (or whoever actually did the bath) had spent a decent amount of time brushing my dog out anyways, because he looked slick! Plus he smelled so good that I was obligated to smother him with snuggles all day and night, of course. He's still recovering from it this morning. haha. This is my second great experience with Petco grooming. Really happy that we decided to try them out. Would definitely recommend.

Great shop to browse for pet related needs...this Petco location offers an array of fish to add to your aquarium, they also sell live reptiles(iguanas & crickets) an on site pet grooming area, provide basic obedience classes for puppies, and even has a vet clinic on certain days. The place is clean, and sorted neatly. There are poop bags, and cleaning stations throughout the store. There are plenty of staff ready to help at the reptile station, as well as the grooming area. This location is super easy to get to, next to target and a supermarket. Plus parking is plenty. The crew here are friendly and seem to enjoy their job. The many times I have visited, they have been very cheerful and happy to go the extra mile. They amuse my kids in carrying conversations and sharing stories on their love of critters.....furry, wet, creepy, crawly or slimy. This is also a great place to bring your (behaved) dog to shop around and meet other furry friends. Cool place to socialize with other animal friendly people and talk about their diet, their grooming, behavioral issues....really, anything related to woof/meow unlimited. Petco is the local supermarket giant for basic pet related needs. They carry a good range of pet foods, collars, treats, beds, bowls....you get the idea. Kids enjoy the trip, the dog is happy, and I don't 'always' end up with a new pet to add to my growing zoo at home when I leave.

bloody edges of cut ear by groomer Manny at Petco, College Point, NY

beware and never allow manny to groom your pet. he not only had an attitude because they were busy but he cut milo's hair down to near bald all over as oppose to just cutting down the matted chest. absolutely no need to shave my milo all over. and to top it off, manny cut the ends of my dogs' ears. the edges of both ears are scabbed still. i informed manny that milo is a nervous/anxious dog and hates grooming. 6 hours later i went to the shop to check in on him and saw milo was visibly hurt and distressed. i thought it was from all the hours being there but it was because he had been cut. he wasn't the same happy playful dog for 4 days. itching alot and shaking his head from the discomfort of the cuts (9 days later) same.

Your regular Petco with the standard items. Typically service is great but today I encountered my first service with No smile or thank you. Rosalba darling lighten up. On a lighter note, I find Scarlett's food always there and theres a pretty good toy selection. She's happy, i'm happier. :)

I bought fresh dog food today, opened it and found it was bad, it made me very angry

This PetCo always has what I need for my pets. It's rare for them to be out of certain items.

I've been taking my dog here for the last year. I'm very pleased with their service. I really like…read morethat they call me ahead of time to remind me of my appointment. When I walk in for pickup they always have her in their arms or at the desk with them. She is taken well care of that Sometimes she doesn't want to leave haha. Their prices are affordable and they are always on time. No waiting all day for a pick up call and never too busy to see her. Thank you for taking great care of my baby Penelope.

I had used Doggy Be Good twice before for overnight boarding without any issues, so I felt…read morecomfortable leaving my dog there for a third stay. This time she stayed for seven days, and unfortunately the experience has left me extremely disappointed. Halfway through her stay, I called to check on her since the facility does not provide routine updates. I was told everything was great and that she was having fun running up and down the kennel runs. Nothing was mentioned about any injuries or health concerns. When I got there to pick her up, a man was hosing down the kennels. I said "good morning" to him 2 separate times and he looked at me and ignored me, which I found off-putting. When I picked up my dog, she seemed happy and energetic. I also arranged for grooming because she had been there for a week and I wanted her to come home clean. After bringing her home, I noticed that she was licking her paws much more aggressively than normal. Upon examining them, I discovered a cut on one of her front paw pads and what appeared to be blood spots around some of her nails. I contacted the boarding facility to report my concerns. I was told that the concrete kennel runs could have worn down her nails and irritated her paw pads from running. After the owner checked with the groomer, I was told that no injury had been reported during grooming. The facility later reviewed its cameras, noted that she had been running frequently during her stay, and suggested that this may have caused her paws to become sore, especially if she does not normally run on cement. They offered a coconut treatment, which I declined because I wanted to examine her paws more closely first. She goes on daily walks, but does not spend the majority of her day on cement, so I took the owner's assessment as possible. The following day, I discovered that one of her back paws was bleeding. Upon closer examination, there was blood and pus coming from INSIDE the paw pad. I took her to her veterinarian, who examined her injuries and advised that the cuts did not appear consistent with simple surface irritation from running on concrete. The veterinarian determined that she has moderate to severe pododermatitis and that the injuries were consistent with cuts. The vet mentioned that bacteria from licking the affected area likely contributed to the infection. She is now on antibiotics, pain meds and has an ecollar for 2 weeks so she does not irritate it any further. I included a pic of the now healing scar on her paw pad and her purple swollen back paw at the vet's office. What upsets me most is that I was never informed of any possible injury or health issue during her seven-day stay or when I picked her up, including after grooming. I had to discover the injuries myself, contact the facility, and seek veterinary care before understanding the extent of the problem. While I cannot say with certainty when or how the cuts occurred, I am very concerned that my dog came home with these injuries and that no one brought any potential issues to my attention. I am also uncomfortable with the checkout form requiring customers to sign that they have inspected their dog and that there are no health issues. When a business has cared for your pet for an entire week, a customer should reasonably expect to be informed if an injury or health concern is noticed, even soreness that they may experience from the cement. I do not believe a customer should have to discover a potentially serious injury at home without having received any warning that something may be wrong. My previous experiences with Doggy Be Good were positive, which makes this situation even more disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my level of trust in the facility. I no longer feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care, and I will not be returning. I hope they take this experience seriously and improve how potential injuries and health concerns are monitored, documented, and communicated to pet owners.
