Janica - I think that's her name - helped us in grooming. SHE IS AWESOME! Very knowledgeable about do's and don't's for your dog. She was so helpful and really showed that she cared about our dog. She came into the food isle with us after she groomed our dog and showed us the best food to try, since it seemed as though our dog had allergies. Shes the best! The man at the register was also VERY nice and friendly. I'm happy with this Petco....DEFINITELY BETTER THAN PETSMART read more

This store asks for paperwork on dog before they will groom your dog & they don't want the dog owners around when they groom. Big store with poor selection. Lots of stuff that people without pets would buy for a pet owner as a useless pet gift. read more

I love this place. You can go in there with any question and they will be able to answer you to the best of their ability. The employees are very knowledgeable and patient. read more

I just adopted a very anxious small breed dog. After seeing a trainer she recommended we buy a few products to help with anxiety. I walked in almost in tears because of stress- your staff was so kind and friendly and told me exactly where to find everything. They even match priced my items. Thank you for your kindness during a very stressful time. read more

I'll never go back. The service is unprofessional... It's always an issue with the scheduled appointment or the luv my pet vaccine paperwork. My dog doesn't seem to like them very much either. read more

It's your average Petco. Nothing spectacular. I go here to buy cat litter only. I buy the food somewhere else because it's cheaper. The staff is hit or miss. read more

This petco is not great as far as their pet supply variety. As a pet store they do not work..... BUT LISTEN WHEN I SAY THEIR GROOMING STATION IS (*****)GREAT!!!!! I take my dog here for grooming all the time and while there is one older woman who works here that i can not stand but there is also a young blond woman who i adore.she dose a great job and my dog loves her. also this petco has luv my pets come in from time to time. luv my pets is a non profit orgnization that offers great vet services for cheap including vaccinations, boosters, heart worm check, float tests, and $5 rabies shots every February. lots of Petco's around the country invite luv my pets to do this but this is the only one in nyc that holds this event on Saturdays, and with work and school and all the other things life demands who can really make it before 10am on a Wednesday, or Tuesday. All in all this place is not a great pet store but it has its high point which make up for their poor selection and mediocre space read more

This review is specifically for Nicholas the groomer. Nicholas groomed our puppies Bella and Bembesito such that they looked like rockstars! Bella a Yorkie, and Bembesito a Havanese have medium length coats that need a lot of care. They came back looking so gorgeous and lovely and smelled AMAZING. Even though I called last minute, he accomodated them and he even threw in a facial. I used to go to Puppy Paradise because it was a bit cheaper (everything for me is double with two puppies), but I will pay the $10 additional for each dog at Petco. Keep up the great work Nicholas and thanks for caring for our pups like they are your own! read more

Grooming by Juneka. She has groomed my dog twice now and she is the best groomer I have been to.Was reluctant to go to Petco but now I have to say she is the best of all groomers I have ever used. She is very personable and just great with my dog.I would never go to anyone else!!! read more

Great staff. Patient and understanding. It was my first time there. So I was impressed by the groomers ability to make my dog comfortable.

I just started to go to this store for my new salt water fish tank and I must say that most of the store employees are not helpful at all, they act as if y money isn't good you ask one for help they send you to someone else you go to that person and they send you to someone else I find my self spending more time waiting on help then acting shopping for things for my fish tank and only one person in there knows what they talking about when it comes to salt water fish tanks its ridiculous how under staffed they are and how bad there help is. Two stars for the one person who knows what they are doing thank you Mimi read more

I recently had my dog groomed at their grooming salon and I absolutely loved the way he came out. The groomers name was Tanika I believe and she did an excellent job with my baby. He was very happy once he was done. He's mixed with a poodle so she gave him a cut that wasn't feminine and had him looking like a brand new dog (in a good way though). read more

I came in today to bring my work dog to get groomed. I met with an employee named Juneka and she was very friendly and upbeat. I was told to come back in two hours and I left my number. A little less than two hours later I receive a call from her letting me know that Bridgette (my work dog) had fleas! I almost panicked but she calmed me down by explaining the treatment options and answered a million of my questions. I came in to pick up the dog and I was relieved to see that the flea bath worked well and Juneka explained everything again and put my mind to ease. I was able to purchase frontline and my problem will be solved! Also it's great that she truly is an animal lover, you can tell right away when she interacts with the animals. I'm very observant! Will definitely be returning back! read more

We just went to Petco looking for a low-maintenance addition to our family. I never write reviews but I was so impressed with the staff I wanted to share. Everyone was super friendly and happy to help and answer all our questions. Especially Corey and Meki (forgot the spelling of his name ). Way better customer service than your typical chain store. Definitely recommend!! read more

The BEST GROOMING SERVICE!!!! Juneka has hands of gold!! Took her time with my 60 lb Chow Chow. Very gentle, and professional. Was turned down from Gentle Touch on Avenue S, cause they didnt know how to handle my dog.Juneka was perfect. AND NO MUZZLE!!!! i was worried she'd have to be shaved down, because of her mats, but she spent 2 hours just brushing them out. If you are not using Juneka at Petco for your dog, then you are missing out!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Had a pretty bad experience in the grooming salon. Took my poodle mix there. Had an appointment for 2:00pm. Brought the dog over promptly. Asked how long it would take. Was told 3-4 hours. Was a bit surprised it would take that long. Was told there were 2 dogs in front of mine. Fine, but why make an appointment for 2:00pm then? And if you're seeing there is no way to take him on time, pick up the phone and ask me to come 2 hours later. Actually, they did call around 1:00pm to make sure I was coming. Did they not know there was going to be a delay? I highly doubt it. I've been taking my dog to other grooming salons for the last 5 years and it's just implied that poodle get poodle cut and if it's not clear to a groomer, they always ask. I wasn't asked and I guess I assumed they understood. Anyway, I got a call from them at around 5:30pm, but the phone rang just 2 times and by the time I picked up, no one was there. I tried calling them back, but it's always a big challenge. They put you on hold and disconnect after about 3 min. So I again assumed they were done and drive over to pick my dog up. Turned out, he wasn't ready and they had called by accident. I was asked to wait next door @ Burger King. Wonderful. So I went back to my car and 20 min later finally was asked to pick him up. The price was $111 which was pretty high. I looked and it included $22 for spa which I didn't ask or was informed about. Fine. My dog was given an even shave all around and those who know poodles know that's not how poodles are cut. Now he looks totally ridiculous. I'm not sure if they don't know how to cut poodles or just didn't want to bother. For $111 I could've gone to a much better place, spent lot less time and money. I never paid more than $75 and my dog always got great grooming elsewhere. The whole thing took about 4.5 hours. Just bad all around. I will never set my foot in this store again. read more

Since I met this young lady Juneka at Petco she helped me to make my decision to bring my two dogs to her for a complete grooming because I was taking them to another groomer but I loved the way she took care of them and they looked beautiful once everything was done. 200% satisfied. And she makes you feel comfortable about leaving your pet in her care. I like her spirit and she really seems to enjoy what she does. I just took my dogs today to get groomed and again I will be going back. read more
