Extremely disappointing experience at Pet Supplies Plus Oak Lawn -- and even worse handling from corporate! I've been bringing my dog, Lucci, here for over a year and always appreciated the great service from the usual grooming team, especially the two younger Hispanic women who are kind, patient, and professional. However, on March 20th, 2025, a heavy-set white female groomer wasted over an hour and a half of my day, making me drive back and forth to the store three separate times, giving me new excuses each time for why she couldn't do my dog's simple nail trim. After all that wasted time, just so she can tell me I'd have to come back another day. When I returned on March 21st, 2025, Lucci was handled by the same groomer -- and the experience was awful. She was rough, aggressive, and caused my dog to choke from an overtightened restraint while doing his nails. As I stood at the glass trying to calmly talk to Lucci and comfort him, she sighed loudly, scoffed, clicked her lips, and gave me dirty looks -- clearly annoyed that I was trying to ease my dog's fear while she handled him roughly with no patience. I submitted detailed complaints to corporate on April 13th and April 17th -- with no response. Only after leaving a public Google review did the store finally acknowledge it. This experience was incredibly upsetting, and I will not continue trusting my dog's care to this location unless major changes are made in the grooming staff. Pets deserve better than this. No pet should ever be treated the way this groomer treated my dog -- it was completely unacceptable! UPDATE 5/5/2025 : I did reach out through your link -- twice -- on April 13th and again on April 17th with absolutely no response. Only after I made my concerns public did someone from field leadership finally reach out, and thankfully, they're now looking into it. So no -- it's not about giving you a chance to "turn things around." It's about holding people accountable for mistreating animals and wasting the time of loyal customers. I don't want a coupon or a "do-over." I want to know my dog is safe when he walks through your doors. Period. UPDATE 5/7/2025: I just had a follow-up appointment and wanted to give credit where it's due--today's experience was a complete 180. My Lucci was calm and happy the whole time, and the two groomers, Priscilla and Sandra, were absolutely amazing--super gentle and genuinely caring. I also received a refund from the original visit and a complimentary paw treatment, which I really appreciated. Huge thanks to the store's field leader Noé for reaching out and taking my concerns seriously. I'm still avoiding the groomer from my original post, but I felt safe bringing Lucci back today--and that means everything to me. read more

Overall average location, it's pet friendly so your pet can actually make the decision for you actually. They have pet grooming options too to pamper your pet as well. Super clean, Fully equipped self service pet wash for exactly $10.00!! Shampoo (behind khloe in photos) and towels are provided for you! Loved how the dog bath could close which helped me get less wet, along with the smocks provided. Pet Supplies Plus isn't limited to the self serve dog wash they also provide phenomenal full-service grooming. The parking lot is busy so be very careful crossing with your fur-baby(s), nonetheless Khloe & I enjoyed it. read more

I've been coming here for years since I like the quality pet food they sell--but recently they started selling ferrets, and one of them was hidden away because it was sick. Probably because like most pet stores they decided to work with unscrupulous breeders. This is a shame because the fact that this store location didn't sell small animals was one of its best qualities. If it appears they no longer care about animals then I'll shop elsewhere. I suggest people shop at Kriser's in Orland Park instead. read more

I have never been so disappointed by a groomer! I told her specifically not to shave my Great Pyrenees because of her dual coat. Then proceed to shave her anyways!!! Now she's completely unrecognizable! have never been so upset in my life. Plus they cut her skin while shaving!!They will mix this mess once it grows out!!!! Stellar service, very knowledgeable about every product they sell. If one person is unsure they will find someone to help you. I found this place on an uber pick-up order where as a delivery driver was treated respectfully by the staff. We don't get that at most places. I am a loyal customer and they provide me with all my pets needs, from grooming to the veterinarian services, to feeding them. I am a forever customer and highly recommend.The toys are good quality, fresh treats for your pups. Reasonably priced very convenient,plenty of parking the only thing I have not tried I'd the self service bathing which will be soon. Yep you have a big dog that makes a mess in your bathroom hop in the car and bring them there. I don't shop anywhere else for my dogs needs. I don't know what happened to this place, but it has gone downhill. I went today to do a self serve wash, no cashiers upfront to pay for the wash, then some employee walks by as there are 4 people waiting at register, including me, she gets a guy to the register, then walks over to the other register and opens it up. If you're a cashier, you should have just opened up your register and started taking care of customers and call the other cashier over the intercom. Then I go to the self serve wash, NONE OF THE TUBS HAD BEEN CLEANED since the last people used them. The water only stayed warm for about ten minutes and then was ice cold. Then couldn't even dry dog properly because driers had the diffuser end of it missing, so completely useless. They did remodel the self serve wash (at least looks like they did) but poor equipment. Also, barely any water pressure., plus the price went up $4. If you're going to jack up the price, HAVE EQUIPMENT WORKING CORRECTLY, AND TUBS CLEANED AFTER EACH USE. BTW, it is illegal not to clean a pet washing tub after each use. read more

In regards to the self-service dog wash, what has happened? My husband and I went twice in the last 2 weeks, each time with one of our senior dogs. The floors were covered in water and hair. The middle floor drain was blocked, and the water just kept backing up.two dogs were being washed, and the others were filthy. We waited for the others to finish and then needed to call an employee to clean a bay for us. To our surprise, they just rinsed out the bays with the stone cold water and DID NOT USE THE BOTTLE OF DISINFECTANT that was on the ledge. I even asked about it and was told that they only rinse. Not clean. The scum build-up on the bays was disgusting. Then they left, and my husband needed to use the floor squeegee to try to clean up the floor so I would not slip while walking with my cane. Then guess what, both times no hot water. Our dogs sat there with shampoo on for more than 5 minutes, and even then, the temperature went stone cold within 2 minutes. I have been going there for years and even helped with the greyhound rescues there several years back. I can't even express my disgust that the urine puddles that were there when we arrived were still there when we left. This is unacceptable and not hygienic at all. What is the point of getting the dog clean only to not have a path to the door without encountering urine puddles on the way out? I didn't think to take a picture, but I really wish I would have. read more

They have a great and healthy selection of dog food and dog toys. The employees are really kind to me and my dog Kobe whenever we come in, especially Natalie, Jason, and Tyler who even remembers Kobe's name. Over all my experience here was not the best but not the worst. Brought my dog in today to have him groomed, and the girl who took us in seemed a little pushy. The entire customer service aspect felt like it was gone, not sure if they deal with hard customers, but I know I wasn't one of them, yet I couldn't help but feel like there was a slight attitude to her. My dogs haircut was okay to say the Least, they could've done a better job with his butt, they also completely forgot to shape his paws. More importantly they didn't clip the biggest nail that needed to be clipped, completely overlooked. I payed $100, which wasn't terrible, but won't be bringing him back I'll explore different options next time. The store itself, however, has a nice environment and is very friendly. read more

I hate pet stores. Particularly the big box corporate stuff, when my daughter was small we would go to the local Jumbos Pet corp. and get our cat food, then mill around looking at thousands of freaked out fish, lonely reptiles and mangy looking birds wondering, "what the fuck is wrong with humans anyway." Not just the store, but then you have to deal with the people who find it "fun" to bring their pets into the stores with them. This would all result in a bunch of leashes being yanked in many directions, old people being caught up in three puppies trying to smell each others asses. Now I know I am treading on thin ice right now with some of my Yelp friends so i will drop it. This store is fantastic, very helpful staff. Some staff even has that radical vibe about mass marketing and commercial suckers. We are getting ready to add a wet food option to our kitty and wanted to make sure she eats like we would feed ourselves. After spending a solid hour in the store with the kids and talking to some very helpful and interested employees I felt better about this store than i thought I would. I assumed it was another chain like the rest, it is not. Locally owned and operated i was happy to see one of my fellow Yelp friends had reviewed it before me, Kudos to you Sarah J A great selection of food, toys, and whatnot. They do not jam the walls with stolen animals from around the world, just a small selection of reptiles and a few birds. One cat for adoption. I go where the coupons and deals lead me and lately it has been Pet Supplies Plus! It use to be Petsmart customer but their coupons are ridiculous like spend $100 and get $15 off. HOW does "one" spend $100 on cat food??? I'm also a senior so I can't throw out $100 at one time since I no longer earn a "paycheck." People at Pet Supplies are friendly and helpful and as I say again KEEP the coupons and deals coming. They're very much appreciated and a big help! read more

I LOVE these guys! I've been buying my pets' supplies from them for years now, which is no small feat. The staff is always extremely nice, polite and very helpful (especially on the days when I come in to order bulk guinea pig food--I know taking special orders can be a pain in the butt). Another big reason that I whole-heartedly support PSP is that they regularly have shelter kitties there being offered for adoption, unlike other stores that outright sell puppies and kittens. Local rescues have also come and had other adoptable pets there. The small animals that they do sell are always kept very clean and well-fed, which unfortunately is not the case at many other pet stores. All things considered, along with the wonderful service that I've always gotten when shopping there, I expect that I'll be coming to these guys for a long time! read more
