My family has been bringing our beloved doggos here for 8+ years and have never had a problem. They are very reasonable in price and have no problem taking all different kinds of breeds. My pup always leaves feeling refreshed. Our bigger dogs have been able to be serviced here with no hesitation. They do good work and include a good amount of things in their appointment from getting their nails cut, dealing with the butt glands, cleaning their ears, & softening their paws. This place is a hidden gem! After having a couple of bad experiences w/ a Pet Co & Pet Smart when I owned my previous dog, I knew that I didn't want to take my newly rescued dog to a big pet store to be groomed. I was looking for a more personable experience. So I decided to take my new dog to Pet Set. They did not disappoint! I was a little nervous about the way my dog might behave b/c he's had a rough life & can be a little distrustful of people. So I voiced my concerns when I dropped him off. I was assured by a staff member at Pet Set that everything would be fine...And it was! They said that he behaved well, but I'm sure it was b/c they made him feel safe. By the time I picked my dog up he looked great, smelled fresh & seemed very relaxed/peaceful. His nails were trimmed & buffed, ears clear of gunk, teeth & gums cleaned & his coat was so soft/conditioned. They did an awesome job! I will definitely be returning to Pet Set in the future. read more

I have two Shih Tzu (8 & 9 years old). I was taking them to Illiana Boarding & Grooming as the prices were reasonable. Due to erratic customer service and never quite getting the grooming right, I was recommended the Pet Set by a friend. I cannot recommend Pet Set enough! Not only are their prices more reasonable than Illiana, they also take care of ears & anal glands which Illiana refused to do. Was previously a customer of the Barker Shop in LaGrange whose services were top notch but had to switch due to relocation (also the Pet Set is much more reasonable in pricing, but their grooming is on par with the Barker Shop). Brought in my dog for a bath and nails. When I came to pick up the pups he did not look brushed thoroughly and did not have the just bathed smell. His nails were cut and left jagged. I asked why he wasn't the nails sanded smooth they claim the customer has to request that.....what???!?!? I will not return. I should add my dog is going on 11 and has been groomed for the last 8 years. He does not mind having his nails trimmed or dremeled down. And he is calm for baths. So no excuse for this type of job. read more

Had a couple bad experiences here and I heard they train groomers ,which might be why the grooming was not done well,also had my dog cut ,bad enough to have them take her for stitches at the vet but this was some years ago so I can't say if things have changed. read more

My parents always took our dogs here and we loved them! I've moved out and have my own dog now....a st. Bernard. She's 102 lbs. On the website it says they can do ALL dog breeds. I called and asked how much for a bath and a cut and very quickly got the response "we don't do st.bernards over 100 lbs" no sorry or anything just that and then hung up. Very disappointed :( i loved going there but will have to find somewhere more accommodating for my big girl. read more

I was going to Pet Set for about 4 years. I kept all my appointments, pick our dog up on time and always tipped. My groomer (Lisa) did decent work and I'd have my schedule made up for an entire year at 8 weeks intervals. The owner at some point stated that they were moving to another location at the beginning of 2014 and even told me where it was located. My last appointment was in December 2013 and when I picked up my dog, I asked for a 2014 schedule to be made. I was told, "We're not making out schedules because of the move" and left it at that. Really? How were they setting up shop at a nearby location and not making appointments merely because they were moving? I felt that they didn't want certain individuals returning and I was offended and took it personal. I have a blind poodle who was no trouble to them. This comment is 18 months late, but when I look at the substandard work from my current groomer, I get slightly angry again about Pet Set and decided to express my displeasure in them regardless. read more

We've taken our dogs to the Pet Set for almost ten years. Between a cocker-poo, black lab, and beagle, we've been nothing but pleased with their work. We recently made the switch from Pet Smart grooming to The Pet Set after our dog was groomed horribly at Pet Smart. It did take a few calls to reach anyone to schedule, but was well worth the wait! They did an amazing job with our skittish rescue, were incredibly friendly, and priced fairly. We will definitely be back! read more

Over the last 15 years I've had 7 Siberian Huskies and have ALWAYS taken them to The Pet Set. I started bringing my own dogs there after my mom, who used to own Old English Sheepdogs, brought her dogs there since the the late 70's. Never once had a problem, prices are excellent for the quality of work they do and they can manage my dogs who tend to be demons. And I always buy something extra while I'm there. read more
