Of the multiple pet sitters we contacted, Erica from Fur Your Pets was the most prompt to respond and most personable, and was the start of repeated great pet sitting service. Over the last year and a half, we went from requesting in-home visits to take care of 3 cats, to in-home full day care (pet-sitting and house-sitting combined) for 3 cats and 2 dogs - one being a super rambunctious rottweiler. We did a "trial" weekend stay in preparation for a longer trip, and Erica did a fantastic job of taking care of everyone, even the rottweiler, which we were a bit worried about. Our pets love Erica and being able to stay in a familiar environment while we are traveling really shows. Our dogs get excited when she comes over, and when her visit ends, we come back to relaxed and perfectly normal (maybe a little disappointed to see us rather than Erica?) family. Our pets with prior pet sitters and kennels exhibited a bit of stress and anxiety after we came back, so this is a really great change for them. I can't say enough about how well Fur Your Pets takes care of our pets and home. To the amount of play time and cuddling time they get, to the prompt communications and numerous pet photos we receive, and the patience Erica displays when things go as unintended with our home, we are able to leave our pets in trusted hands, and are always confident that selecting Fur Your Pets for pet sitting was the best choice we made to ensure the well-being of our pets.

Allison and I had a quick and energetic catch-up on the phone and scheduled a consultation. Allison and her partner came over to my house, and met my cat, Dewey. They quickly bonded. What surprised me the most was how professional this business is. Allison had a bunch of paperwork to go over with me. It was a legit operation. They have a website with a login where I can schedule services and pay my invoices. This has become one of the most useful aspects for using Chico and Chums. I can schedule a service on my portal and know that everything will be taken care of. A few months ago Dewey had some bladder problems and was on medicine. I had to go out of town for work and was terrified to leave him. Chico and Chums took great care of Dewey, and gave him his medicine, and gave me detailed updates. I was still a bit worried, so I asked for Dewey to be taken to the vet to make sure he was still okay. C&C was able to interact with my vet on my behalf and it really was a relief to know Dewey was in good hands. Now when i have to go out of town, I just immediately schedule service with Chico and Chums. I stopped asking my friends to help out because, honestly, you get what you pay for. There were no problems, besides the key not working properly one time. Then, very recently, An absolute NIGHTMARE happened. They locked the keys inside the apartment, and they also left the balcony door open! The screen door was slightly open as well, and since i have a cat, they can get through easily. I live on the 5th floor, this is not a safe height to let a cat stay at, and possibly jump out. This mistake was over memorial weekend, where staff and maintenance as well as my girlfriend and I were out of town or busy. They texted me, and gave me a half hearted insincere apology. When I tried opening their pet sitting portal recently, trying to take up their offer of reimbursing the key lock out fee of $250 over a holiday weekend, they had ghosted me!! I was locked out of my account, and my number blocked. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! They make stupid mistakes and endanger pets -- the very last thing you want from a pet sitting company.

Even with the missed message, I would think their noses would lead them to the tub? It absolutely stank when I got home (there was also dried cat vomit in the bathroom - I just live in a studio). And I then had to spend hours washing everything on my bed, getting Urine Destroyer, etc... really not ideal after getting home from a trip. This is in addition to lights being left on, pill pocket pack not sealed after use, and litter and garbage preferences not followed. Also, I would have preferred they contacted me when my cat decided not to eat his medicine the first day, than to decide how to handle it on their own, although their idea wasn't a bad one. They are perfectly nice people but I would say that if your cat requires anything beyond basic care (throw food in a bowl and scoop box), look elsewhere. Details and communication are important. I communicated some of this to the company and they offered me a free visit in the future, which I thought was a bit presumptuous. They did play with him and actually spend time with him (instead of feeding and dashing), which is something I do appreciate.
