We fell in love with a little blue roan male cocker spaniel at this store and brought him home as a new addition to our family including our 7 yr old female Springer Spaniel. Do not go to this store. They do not care about you, and they do not care about your animals. I bought a 9-10 week-old bunny here on August 12, which was my birthday. What should have been a joyful milestone turned into a nightmare due to gross negligence and deception from the staff and owner, Sherri. He was the very last bunny left, kept in a small tank-like enclosure housed directly with guinea pigs, a major red flag I now know is wrong. The employee who sold him had a gruff voice, held him tight against her chest to completely conceal his head, and gave strict rules not to touch him for 48 hours. When I finally got a real look on the second night, I discovered a massive, crusted lesion stretching from the middle of his head to the base of his ear a severe pre-existing condition hidden at purchase. When I called the morning after, that same employee got defensive, insisted it was just a "bite mark,", pretending to transfer me to management. During the next call, she never disclosed who she was before snapping, "I told you it was a bite mark!" When I finally reached the owner, Sherri, they refused to cover an independent vet exam, tried to force me into their sketchy in-house clinic, and blackmailed me by refusing to pay for diagnostic exams. Sherri condescendingly called me "sweetie" and talked down to me just because I am 18 and didn't have hundreds of dollars for an emergency exotic vet on the spot. Sherri tried to claim I was in the wrong and told her to check the CCTV. When she checked it, she tried to claim, "I see her showing you something right there." I told her straight that the employee showed me nothing, and Sherry went silent for minutes. Whenever you back them into a corner, they go silent because they know they are wrong. By day five, my sweet boy started failing. He was the most affectionate, wonderful little bunny he loved burrowing behind my back, getting pets on his eyebrows, climbing my pants legs, perching on my window ledge, and falling asleep in my lap. But on the afternoon of day five, his legs stopped working properly, his head hit the crate while eating, and he began fading fast. After running into dead ends with unresponsive emergency vets, I messaged Sherri for urgent help and called another vet 30 miles away, but he passed away, his back legs looked as if they weren't working anymore he was scrambling and frantic to low to the ground bumping into the wall and scared. I've been emailing with a rescue vice president who helped me realize this was entirely the store's fault. Sherri only messaged me at midnight saying I could bring him to HER to check out. The next morning, she emailed basically frantically asking how he was doing because she knew she messed up. Because he passed at night, my family had to carry his lifeless body to the store the next morning in a bucket, wrapped in the little blanket my younger brother used as a newborn that he loved and it was my bunnies favorite blanket too. When we walked in, the employee who sold him sat at her computer showing zero remorse or apology. When Sherri came out, she gave vile excuses, first blaming the stress of a new environment, and then cowardly trying to claim we must have dropped him on the way to the store. After getting my refund receipt, Sherri walked right up into my face, invading my space to talk down to me. She refused to provide an autopsy report. I told her word for word, "Since you're not providing an autopsy report, do not ever contact me again." The very next day, Sherri called me anyway, claiming the lesion was superficial and not the cause of death. Are we serious now? So it's a lesion now, Sherri? Weren't you hounding me that it was just a bite? When I asked why she was calling after I told her never to contact me, she said she was "trying to be nice." How can you have such a complete lack of shame? This place operates on retail malpractice, cruelty, and deception. Look past the surface, because their negative reviews are deeply buried. It seems my review was filtered or falsely deleted on google, but in short: my bunny died 3 days after I bought her from coccidia - a highly contagious parasite. Her fecal test showed over 1000 parasites in just one swab and the coccidia had moved into her liver. The chances that the bunnies that she lived with don't have the same parasite is almost zero, due to how contagious this parasite is. I spoke to Abby, who after I told her that my rabbit died, said "okay" in an extremely sarcastic tone. She then asked if I had the rabbit (no I don't have my dead bunny. She was cremated because she lost control of her bowels while she DIED IN MY ARMS and smelled like diarrhea and urine) because they would only give me a replacement if I had my DEAD RABBIT and receipt. read more

I just left the store I was simply looking around heading some of the puppies. I start to respond to a text Messages, mind you that my phone was pointing to the floor as I was texting and I was repeatedly told by a very rude gentleman that I was not allowed to take pictures. I don't know how you expect to sell anything when you were very first interaction with a customer is this rude. I will never set foot in that store again. What a mess, puppies looked like they are not cared for, poop odor was horrid, puppies crying, terrible place to look! I wandered on in here with the kids today thinking I was going to be seeing the dogs in the small cages stacked along the back wall as I once remembered it, but I was pleasantly surprised that it has finally changed. Now the dogs are in little open aired"pens" on the ground so you can walk around and pet them. I'm not sure how long it's been like this but it made me happy since I used to avoid this place because I felt bad for the dogs in small cages. The store itself is still small with some accessories to purchase. I'm assuming this place makes it's money on the dog sales. I still firmly believe people should 'Adopt, don't shop" but again it was nice to their atmosphere has changed. read more

COVID-19 is not an excuse to discriminate against your customers! I arrived at this location expecting to make a purchase. Due to COVID they only allow 6 customers at a time, understandable. Upon arrival there were two other couples who were already in the store before we entered. After a few minutes of playing with the same dog (highly interested), we were asked to leave due to other customers. We were asked to leave before the other two couples, why? Because we were an younger interracial couple with a sibling we brought along. It was assumed that we would not make a purchase. I brought to her attention all of the information spoke about in the review and left peacefully. Her excuse was we did not have questions within our short period of time in the store. There was not a line, just an older couple. This location is taking advantage of "protocols" by making their customers uncomfortable due to discrimination. Untrained help I walked into this store shortly after 10 am. Thursday, Dec 7th, 2017. The untrained staff were unloading puppies (from two white vans behind the store, that I saw on my way out) Inside I heard a puppy cry, I went to see what was wrong, the untrained staff had placed a very small pomeranian in the crate/box that all the puppies are in, WITH very large either boxer or bulldog puppies twice her size, and they were jumping on her. I asked the clerk to remove that puppy and place it with the smaller ones and was told that they could not do that as the puppies were just coming in. I purchased a "Malchi" from this place 3 months ago for $1900. After watching a show on Animal Planet, I decided to have him DNA tested. Turns out he has NO Maltese in him! He is a mix of Bichon Frise, Chihuahua, Brussels Griffon, and Coton de tulear. I contacted The Pet Shop. They insisted that the DNA test was wrong and that the parents were purebred: Sire- Maltese, dam- Chihuahua. First of all just to put this out there I think the dogs are over priced here and the reason i'm writing my review is because I go there to get a dog and had way more than enough money to pay for it but I wanted to see if I could get approved for the financing that they spoke so highly of. I had called prior to make sure I didn't need any special documents or paperwork and they told me, "No it will be a quick process." They also told me I had until 7:30pm. But anyways, I had an issue with the "credit check" which was more so a credibility check, as they were asking questions more so about why I haven't been at my home for more than 3 years. Second issue, I get here at 5:45pm thinking I had more than enough time and upon arrival i'm told I only have until 6pm to submit the application, which normally wouldn't be a problem but she wasted time asking questions that had more to deal with my personal life and why I haven't been, in her words, "consistent" with where I lived/worked; I am a recent college graduate. She just submitted the paperwork on time, and comes out 15min later to tell me that I did not get approved, mind you I have a 700+ credit score, proving my point that it was indeed NOT a CREDIT check, and more of a CREDIBILITY check. Futhermore, she proceded to judge me asking if I truly made the salary I put down, and was comparing me to her kids. I think she assumed I couldnt afford the dog but I ended up buying him outright, which I am sure shocked her. In conclusion, I highly suggest NOT buying a dog here, and if you do, be prepared for judgement. read more
