Im pretty sure when you ask for a haircut you actually want a haircut! I brought my puppy in asking for a haircut. I asked for half off meaning 4 inches of hair on his back to 2 in. $79 dollars later he looks the exact same except with a shaven face and clipped nails. WTH. I'm calling the manager tonight with pictures but this isn't a haircut. They gave him a bath and brushed him - all of which I can do easily on my own. read more

I haven't always been a huge fan of this store..... but recent visits have changed my mind!! Thank you so much to Haley and Kendyll. Hayley's knowledge of dog food is incredibly helpful. This is the SECOND time having an issue with this Petsmart grooming. The people that work at this department are extremely rude: the only one I seem to not have an issue with is the manager Sara. My other dog was the issue today as they have groomed him many other times and he's 14 years old. He is the sweetest dog but because he has a growth in his eye that was bleeding a little they said they wouldn't be able to work on him: since when? Never had issues with my dog before and now all of a sudden these workers give me nothing but problems with my dogs. I hope people realize the way this department treats people and stop going there. My dog has always had the growth on his eye and never had issues ever. This place is getting ridiculous the way they treat people and animals. My other dog they have ruined to trust people because of how they treated him. He is so scared now of everything. If I were you don't bring your animals to this Petsmart. I wouldn't even rate it with 1 star read more

I have been taking my Golden Retriever to the Petsmart Grooming Salon for almost 10 years. After Covid I noticed that the staff is all new. Last time I took him in the cut was choppy. I was there today to get him a bath and cut and they refused to groom him because he had a mat behind each ear. He has had them before and I usually have to pay an extra charge to have them removed. Anyone who has had Goldens know they are prone to this. Anyway I came home and the mats were gone in less than 5 minutes. It wasn't difficult. I will be looking for a new grooming salon that has true professional groomers. read more

If you have a dog with curly hair, avoid this place at all costs! I brought my 5-month-old Goldendoodle puppy in for their "puppy trim" special. When I came back to pick him up, I could not recognize my own dog - and NOT in a good way! In addition to trimming his face and rear and paw pads, they gave him a bath, and then dried him with a high-powered blow dryer, effectively giving him a "blow out". My curly boy looked more like a chow than a doodle when I got him back. Not a good look, and NOT what I asked for. I understand that some people like their dogs to look like a ball of fluff, but why would you ever assume that someone wanted that, without asking?! It was like going to a hair salon, and having them dye your hair a new color without asking you. When I called to complain that they had ruined his curly hair, they at first denied that there was any problem, but when I reminded them of their satisfaction guarantee, they agreed to fix it the next day, at no additional cost. So, two more trips to the store to drop him off and pick him up, and he still looked like a giant puff ball. Despite my explicit instructions to towel him dry, and not use a dryer at all, they used one anyhow. They then tried to claim that this always happens to curly-haired dogs when you wash them, but I have owned other curly-coated dogs, including another doodle, and this never happened when we bathed them at home. The only good thing I have to say is that they returned my money, but I still wasted several hours of my valuable time, and the gas going back and forth, for them to make my dog look horrible! These groomers clearly do not know the first thing about dogs with curly coats. read more

I'd avoid PetSmart for pet grooming. Their grooming "packages" are deceptive. Several months ago my family stated we wanted a "regular" or "standard" grooming and ended up with a $50-some dollar bath and combing and almost no trimming. This most recent time I called ahead and explicitly asked for a price quote on "everything." (I explained I wanted everything trimmed, everything done). I was quoted $60-some dollars which seemed reasonable. When I arrived, the quoted price for "everything" was over $100! Not wanting to get stuck with another $50 bath, we paid over $100 (not even including tip). Unless you're looking for a $50 bath or grossly overpriced grooming, I'd find another groomer. K9Innovations in Walnutport was recommended (but I understand you should call in advance due to a waiting list). read more

the inexperienced grooming staff killed a pug this January (2015) by using a choke hold to restrain him while cutting his nails - the veterinarian necropsy confirmed this. But they were kind enough to finish all of his nails - they even used bleed stop on almost every nail, how nice of them. read more

I like the store a lot, it has so much different brands of food and supplies for your pet(s) the customer service / staff are helpful and friendly I take my dog there for her grooming, yes i have to agree with Brian the prices are expensive but they do a good job and I have been going for years to them I suggest them putting more coupons for the grooming salon, every time I asked them if they have coupons or are any coming soon, they tell me that if im signed up online with them then they send coupons to my email, it has been years that i've signed up and never received one single coupon read more

I just read this review on another site: "Pet Smart in Whitehall Pa killed my pug yesterday morning. We took him in for a nail clipping. About 15 minutes later we received a call that he went into cardiac arrest. Everyone knows a dog doesnt go into cardiac arrest unless he's in poor health which he wasn't. When we got there they were working on him to bring him back. He was blue from suffocating . He was already dead. When i walked in the girl that usually cuts his nails was there. At that point Pujo told his own story. I always ask her to hold him under his chest to do his nails. They chose to hold him in a choke lock. They killed him by lack of oxygen. My husband felt his neck and it felt like it was dislocated. We took pictures every last nail was cut with yellow powder on it from cutting his nails to low. And his tongue was hanging out of the side of his mouth. Which means they finished cutting all his nails yes. But then he went limp for no reason? No they held him in a head lock for 4-5 minutes without him being able to breath. I want justice for Pujo. My heart is broken into 1000 pieces and no money will ever replace my love. The two girls that killed Pujo will have to deal with this in their own way. I trust in god he is now in his hands. Please pass this along to everyone you know.
