I recommend Affordable Pet Center as I shop for my Manchester Terrier and Kitty Cat. Large selection of food and supplies for your dogs and cats. I also have a fresh water fish tank and get my supplies here. Their prices are competitive with Petco and Pet Smart but what separates them is their outstanding customer service and courteous staff. I love coming here to shop for my pets' food! The main thing I love about this place are the people that work here. They are knowledgeable and they won't try to upsell you. The first time I visited was a year after I adopted my first dog. I was exploring other brands of food to feed my dog, who was on California Naturals at the time - it was getting really expensive for me. I ended up speaking with Bill, one of the owners, I told him about my situation with my budget and that I am still looking for a good food for my dog (side note: the last time I said that to a person working at another store (Chaar), they implied that I would not be a good dog owner if I placed my dog's food on a budget and ended up pressuring me to buy a very expensive brand). Bill ended up spending about an hour educating me on how to tell if a food is good or not, which was really great of him to do, since I was a new pet parent, and that education has helped me analyze the quality of food for my pets I have now - and helping my friends find good pet food. On top of being very helpful, he didn't pressure me to buy the expensive brands and he understood the idea of a budget for pet owners. He made no judgment on me looking for less expensive dog food, which other places have done. Affordable Pet Center does carry the common brands that you would find in other stores, but they also carry brands that you don't usually find in box stores, like Annamaet and Orijen. They can also order brands that they don't normally carry - they place their orders every week - I have to order special food for one of my pets. read more

My husband and I stopped over on Saturday with both our dogs to get them out of the house after being home all day alone. Our goal was to buy a new collar for our growing puppy and to purchase a new disc for a chew toy they have. Upon entering the store the owners dog spotted our puppy and ran over and started running around him like a crazy dog. She would not stop bothering him, pushing, shoving, biting, and tangling the leash. I told my husband to walk faster, thinking that surely someone would stop this terrible behavior, and that if we went up the isle she wouldn't follow us. That wasn't the case at all, the dog took to running as fast as she could rolling into the puppy and knocking things over. I had our small dog how was terrified at this point so I had to leave the situation, leaving my husband dealing with this terrible dog on his own. I tried twice to get help but was ignored. The older man at the register was on the phone and totally ignoring me standing in front of him asking if someone could get this dog under control. Well the dog was running up and down the isle hitting into my husband and puppy, she hit my husbands legs so hard that it knocked him on the floor. My small dog was so terrified that he slipped his collar trying to get away. We couldn't even size the puppy for a new collar, nor weigh him on the way out. I am so angry this happened, the dog should be under control at all times, or keep her home. I will not be back to the store, a store I went to at least once a week. read more
