I called two months prior to board my dog for the thanksgiving holiday so we can travel to family out of state. I was asked to provide my vets number which I did and I was asked to direct my vet to give cloud 9 my dogs vaccine records. Cloud 9 pulled the records 4 days before thanksgiving and I was told that he was missing the influenza vaccine (out of the 6 that are required) which is series of 2 shots over a 2 weeks so now we can't board the dog. If they would have pulled the records when I called then I would have plenty of time get this done but their unprofessionalism left no time for this. For the price they charge I would have expected more. They offered no help in resolving this and just pretty much a "you're on your own" and "this is all your fault". I would recommend looking elsewhere for your boarding services as if something goes wrong they don't seem like they care enough to help out. read more

We have used Cloud Nine Kennel for 7 years for our dog. We board him 3-5 times a year. His last visit was 5 weeks in April-May 2024. I trust Cloud Nine kennel with my pet. My pet has high anxiety and is medicated for this. He has separation anxiety and does not do well at home with a pet sitter or at my family's homes. He does very well at the kennel. I had always scheduled a bath post boarding and 2 years, I changed to use the excellent groomer at Cloud Nine for all of his grooming needs. A previous groomer wanted him on additional medication for grooming. This groomer works with him and no additional medication is needed. I'm happy I found this kennel for our dog. It is 1 hour from our home but definitely worth it for the excellent care he receives. read more

Made a reservation to begin the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Sadly both my kids came down with the flu so we could no longer travel for the holiday. I immediately called around 9:30pm Monday evening and left a message to cancel the reservation thinking it would be within the necessary 48 hours. While I was informed of the 48 hour cancellation policy it was at no time explained to me that a cancellation needed to be prior to 9am. So customers beware when booking. There will be no level of compassion or understanding from the owners for their customers who have any extenuating circumstances. Don't bother wasting your time or money here! read more

My 14 month old dog stayed there for 8 days 6/24-7/3 and before that he did a one day evaluation . On 7/27 he did daycare, I was told on 7/27 that there was an episode where he showed aggression towards the groomer; which is terrible. But at the same time they downplayed the incident and was laughing while telling me the story about their groomer. But what makes me very upset is instead of telling me or sending me an email right after I picked him up on July 27 that he wasn't welcomed back, so I can make arrangements in the future; they decide to tell me he's not welcomed back today September 15th when reached out to them for emergency boarding tomorrow. . Please communicate better in the future with your clients., they deserve it, especially for what they pay for boarding and tipping. Please before you respond remember this: I'm not mad my dog isn't welcomed back I'm upset you waited almost 2 months to tell me. read more

Only five stars available? That doesn't seem fair. This place deserves more. My 14-year-old dog has stayed here throughout her life while my wife and I (and her family before that) go on fun vacations. We've been told Daisy enjoyed herself...but she's not really keen on being left places. That said, the staff here clearly cares for dogs (and cats) and takes excellent care of four-legged family members. Feeding and medication schedules are followed to the letter, animals are walked more than once daily, enclosures are indoor/outdoor. Grooming services are available prior to pickup. The facilities are immaculate - when you walk in you don't smell dog. Daisy and her things come home clean, and she's always happy to see us. The staff knows the dogs names, which makes you feel better about leaving your pets. Daisy stayed over Christmas 2007, and got her picture taken with Santa. (It was cute, but honestly, it looked like a prison photo. That was all her, and not Cloud Nine. See above: '...not really keen on being left places.') Book early for holiday seasons. But if you take my slot, you'll have to deal with a surly 14-year-old yellow lab. Cloud Nine is technically in Macungie, but is on the back roads, not off Route 100 as most people think of Macungie. You cross in and out of Berks county on the way. If you're from the "main part" of the Valley, allocate adequate time to drive there and back. Roads are narrow and windy, and can be a bit messy in winter. It is very much worth the trip. read more

My wife and I have been very happy customers of Cloud Nine Country Kennel since we got our current dog over six years ago. We board our dog with them several times a year for both long and short stays. We also take our dog there for grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. We have had nothing but great experiences with this facility, its owners, management and staff. Cyndi and Brittney are two of the nicest and most helpful people we have every met in any pet services business, as are their staff members. We especially like that they offer specialized services to meet the needs of our dog. This is not a "one size fits all" pet service facility. A few months ago, our dog was diagnosed with diabetes and now requires two insulin injections a day. When we first started her on insulin, I was afraid we might need to begin boarding her at a veterinary clinic to insure that her diabetes was properly managed in our absence. After talking with Brittney, I was happy to learn that they have other diabetic cats and dogs who stay at Cloud Nine. Brittney and several other staff members, including a former vet tech, actually have more experience dealing with diabetic animals than I do. I just picked up our dog today after a nine day stay. This was the first time we boarded her since she has been on insulin. Even though I have total confidence in the Cloud Nine staff, I was still a bit apprehensive about what could happen if our dog's diabetes was not properly managed. My biggest concern is that our dog has always been a finicky and unpredictable eater which makes it difficult to administer the correct dose of insulin. To my relief, Cloud Nine knows our dog very well and was able to adjust her insulin injections according to her food intake. As a result, our dog came home from this stay at Cloud Nine as happy and healthy as she always has. If Cloud Nine was a bed and breakfast for humans, it is a place I would definitely want to stay. It is in a beautiful wooded setting, very well maintained and inviting to both its four legged guests and their owners. There is nothing more my wife and I could want from the people who care for our dog when we are away or our dog is in need of a "spa day". read more

I took my dogs here and they told me the day of that my dogs flu shot wasn't up to date even though I had the paperwork and confirmed everything on the phone weeks earlier with them as to what I needed. They wouldn't take my dogs. I was very confused since I had the paperwork. This inconvenience caused me to scramble since we had to make a flight for vacation but thankfully another great place (A Furry Tail Come True) graciously accepted our dogs last minute! read more

The quality of a business is a direct reflection of it's management. This business, managed by BRITTANY GLASS, falls far short of adequate in many categories, especially customer service. After having inquired about a reservation via email on a Friday morning, I received a reply at the end of the day stating that there was availability for the sat-Monday we requested which specifically included a double suite for both my dogs. I immediately replied requesting the reservation and the double suite (because the one dog has separation anxiety) and asked what info she needed to confirm the reservation and take the deposit. 36 hours later - still no response. So, I called the kennel to find out that they in fact are not open Monday as she originally stated in her email confirmation and that we would have to board an extra night. I asked if we could use the "one night free trial" she originated offered to offset that cost for the additional night. I was dismissed and spoken down to by Brittney as if I was not understanding what the word trial meant. Her tone was condescending and she spoke loudly as if I were hard of hearing. This was especially shocking considering we were referred to this kennel by the previous owner (with whom I have had positive experiences and I'm sure she's be mortified if she knew the level of unprofessionalism incompetence under which the business is currently operating). After the dust settled and it was clear that she would not accommodate an extra night due to the business being closed, I was told that she in fact did not have a suite available any longer. By this point I was too frazzled to even remember having immediately emailing her back three days earlier asking her to reserve the suite she said she did have available. Becoming increasingly frustrated with my initial contact and experience with this business I tried to just book the reservation and get off the phone as quickly as possible. I asked if there was any flexibility with the 9am drop off time on Saturday and was told "the drop off time is Satrday between 9-12 as it states in my email and on the website". Again, condescending tone. There was little to NO effort to even acknowledge my frustration or disappointment. I understand that the rules are the rules and the schedule is the schedule - I just dont to appreciate being spoken to like a 5 year old and her complete lack of diplomacy. I value that in a service industry more than anything. Hands down, the worst customer service ever. I also heard that they spray the dogs in the eyes with lemon juice and cleaning agents to "discipline" them when they get too rowdy. read more

We have taken our three toy poodles several times to Cloud 9 and have felt comfortable everytime. We wre impressed with the staff and their genuine caring attitude towards our 4-legged family members. They are professional and organized. I have used this Kennel always for many years, and never worried about my dogs, and also constantly recommending them! NEVER AGAIN!!! I had left my dogs there four nights, always have to give deposit, no big deal! Well, this time my husband went to pick them up and, when he got to garage he called me said to come outside! Well I guess one dog had diarrhea, but not just one day! So number 1: Why want I informed? But instead dog suffered for a couple of days, they are lucky she didn't dehydrate! And, asked husband how much was the bill I was way overcharged, and I was furious! Realizing they must have stuck the Extra fee in there because they stated they had to wash dogs all poop on both dogs!! So, hope none of your dogs get diarrhea they lay in it until they need to go home ! And then had the nerve to charge for a bath! I'm sure they just hoses them down! Also, my other dogs paws were burnt! Owner said due to fair standing in diarrhea!!! WHY AND DAYS???!!!! ABUSE!!!! read more

I took my dog to this kennel on 08/14/10 and scheduled pickup for 08/22/10 My experience with this facility was less than favorable where the customer service was concerned. My wife had a one hour window to pick the dog up 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or a $25.00 off hours fee would apply. My wife left our home at 4:15 p.m. to make the 1/2 hour ride. She tried to get there by the directions given on the website and was detoured around a bridge that was out and followed the detour only to find the road closed for an accident. She tried to contact the kennel to get directions in from where she ended up and got no answer because the (one) person working the desk was busy and could not answer the phone. My wife left a frantic message to call her back and recieved no call back and now it's 5:45 p.m. and she calls me in New York to help her get there..... This place is not that easy to find on a good day and I decided to call them myself...7 calls later I reach the girl behind the desk and she tells me she will call my wife and guide her in.... I call my wife back 10 mins. later and she recieved no call and found her way back out to hwy 100 to go home...Still got charged overnite fees and an additional $50.00 in Gourmet Treat Fees?? I only agreed to A treat for my dog not everyday. Terrible experience all around...Will use Cold Nose Lodge in Alburtis from now on.... A couple more dollars but much friendlier staff and SERVICE! read more

We have used Cloud Nine for a couple of years. I have a German shepherd and a Rottweiler. My Rotty has "special needs". He has had three surgerys and takes medicine everyday. The staff has always taken great care of our needs. There was a time we boarded there and forgot the necessary paperwork. They went above and beyond to contact my vet and verify my dogs had their necessary vaccines instead of turning us away. Thank you to cloud nine for allowing me to enjoy my vacation knowing my babies are being taken care of. read more

Not sure why JJ H's review is so negative. This place is great! The staff are courteous and informative and my dogs LOVE the facility, the small group playtimes, the extra treats and obvious animal-loving folks who are employed here. I have been bringing my dogs here for over 4 years for grooming, daycare and boarding arrangements and I figured it's about time to give credit where is credit is due! I highly recommend this facility and also recommend to folks who read reviews to research the folks who write the negative ones and decide whether or not they are just constant complainers. read more
