Their staff, across the board, greeted us with only compassion and kindness. Kerry M. was our vet and she walked us through every step, educated us, was patient, and was so kind to Iverson and us. I had to cancel the first appointment because I was not ready to say goodbye. They offer a cancellation window up to 4 hours before your appointment and allow you to carry over your deposit to when you reschedule, with no extra fee. So thankful for this understanding. The cost may feel steep, but the in-home service is so so worth it. Iverson had his last meal while the pain meds were administered. It was a distraction where he didn't even notice. He felt safe and comfortable in his home, surrounded by family and on his favorite couch. He was then given a sedation medicine where he drifted into a nap on my chest. When the final medicine was given, he felt no pain as he crossed the rainbow bridge. I have heard horror stories from other in home service companies. I had 3 friends use Caring Pathways and that is why we went with them. I am so grateful and thankful that we chose to work with Caring Pathways. It helps with acceptance and closure and provides a peaceful passing. I will forever recommend them to other family and friends who need to say goodbye to a family pet member.

Our sweet girl passed early this morning and I contacted Everett immediately. We scheduled the private cremation and Grant let us be very involved, which was important to us and strangely comforting. And we also took home a free plant to take care of for a while Less than 3 hours later I had her ashes back and can take her home. This is a compassionate, exactly what you need place that supports families. Highly recommend. You will be supported and loved through the process.

I dropped off my dog on Thursday for cremation services and was informed that I would be charged…read moremore because my dog had not been weighed correctly when I brought him in. I called multiple times on Friday and Saturday to get an update on the status of my dog, often more than once per day, but received no response. The only communication I received was a text message on Sunday stating that my dog was ready for pickup. The message stated: "Pickup may be made weekdays 3 p.m.-6 p.m. or Sat/Sun before 3 p.m. or by appointment." Based on that information, I arrived at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The employee was already leaving but did return to assist us. Unfortunately, the pickup felt rushed, and I was not given the opportunity to look at or purchase an urn before leaving. Losing a pet is an incredibly difficult experience, and I would have appreciated more consistent communication and a less rushed pickup process during such an emotional time.

We adopted our Boston Terrier, Stella, from the Buddy Center in Castle Rock back in Nov 2012 as a 11month old. She is now 13! We got so lucky as someone else was visiting her when we arrived. Back then you could put a wish list if a breed online and would be contacted if one came in to one of the shelters. Not anymore but we loved that feature. We found a stray Boston Terrier puppy a few years ago and took her to DDFL to see if so anyone lost a pet and since she bonded with us and our other Boston overnight, we asked them please please contact us if no one claims her, and a week or two later we were contacted and then had to adopt her. She is now called Beans and is about 4 years old. We sadly had to put down our 11 year old Bassethound a year prior to adopting our Beans, and took him to DDFL. The hardest thing ever to do, and he was my first pet. They were great with us, let us take a lot of time to say goodbyes. I only wish we were allowed back during the euthanasia, I really didn't like just sending him off like that. They do offer you ashes and paw prints after as well which was very nice.

Their counselors are knowledgable about every animal onsite. But when going through the process, especially if you see a dog or cat that you are interested in on the website, you best get there early!!! It took me several trips in order to find my newest companion. I also had to return a puppy during the selection process. I brought her home for three weeks, but she was extremely mouthy, destructive and very high energy! It broke my heart to take her back. The best thing about visiting the Center is getting to know all the animals. I know in a glance who has been there the longest and who will be adopted first. They currently have a large selection of Pit Bull Terriers, Dobermans, Mixed breed dogs and a lovely bulldog named Trixie. They all need good homes and if my home were large enough, they would all come and live with me! The down side is their first come first serve policy. It can be frustrating to see a dog on the website that you want to visit, then watch them being adopted when you get there to visit them. There are many lovely animals there that need good homes. Show up early, visit with your potential new companion and enjoy the experience!

Everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming, they really take the time to listen. They encourage you to ask questions and explain everything clearly so you feel comfortable with the care your pet is receiving. May 2022 was one of the hardest months of my life…read more My husband and I lost both of our 17 year old kitties within 3 weeks of each other and to say we were devastated is an understatement. When we started to notice both of our kitty's decline - one after the other - we weren't sure what to do. Seeing their active decline and wanting to keep them out of pain, we knew putting them at ease was for the best. THE hardest decision, but one that we knew was right. With our usual vet booked out for days, we opted to do a simple search for spots near our home who could assist in the process. Our main concern was keeping them comfortable and letting them go in a quick, sweet, painless manner, so after seeing WellHaven and the wonderful google reviews, we knew just the place. While we were there for other reasons than other Yelpers, we found WellHaven to be amazing. We were able to book appointments over the phone and online, speak with the nurses and doctor prior and say our goodbye's in a quiet and peaceful way. The staff is truly unbelievable in that they are insanely sweet, gentle and sympathetic. They were very professional, explained the process to us and allowed us to mourn as long as we wanted. Pricing is very reasonable for services and an additional outside service has paired with WellHaven to provide proper burial and cremation services for a small cost, while a paw print with your pets name stamped onto it is free of charge. We opted to get both girls' ashes which were ready less than a week later, which came in a beautiful small engraved box, which pairs perfectly next to their tiny paw prints! We also received cards in the mail signed by each member of the WellHaven team which was heartwarming and a very sweet touch. WellHaven also serves as a vet clinic, ortho clinic AND as a doggy day care/camp, and is NOT just a place for the sad stuff. When we are ready to adopt new pets, we will definitely return to WellHaven for amazing pet care.
