I am here to express my unending gratitude for every single employee at the centennial location as well as the Henderson location(where her body was originally transported) for making the worst moment of my life a bit more bearable. From the employees I spoke with that suggested the viewing service while I was hysterically trying to secure peace of mind to Louis who took care of and prepared my baby girl for her final walk home, the compassion shown was nothing short of incredible. With her passing being during the holiday season(12/23) I was not able to have the service until 1/6, exactly 2 weeks after her passing and I was very nervous about how she would look, feel and overall be presented to me. As soon as they opened the door to the bereavement room that was prepared for us an instant cry of relief, she looked just as she did while she was sleeping, so peaceful. I've seen a lot of reviews commenting negatively on prices for this service(and pricing in general) so it's important to me to share just how incredible lasting paws staff made the worst moment of my life. Honestly the cost was such a small price to pay for the experience of being able to touch, kiss, hug my baby girl one last time. So while some may think this is a "money grab on grieving pet parents" I could see(and feel) just how much love and care went into her viewing service by the staff. They bathed her, brushed her and had her prepared on a table with soft blankets and a pillow for her head. Louis did a very thorough job of explaining everything about the cremation process and communicated with me through every step. I brought supplies to make more nose/paw prints but forgot scissors so that I could clip more of her fur, without question the sweet front desk staff provided a pair of scissors and a small plastic bag to keep the clippings in. I had used a euthabag(instead of standard issued plastic bags) that I had sent to all of her loved ones to write sweet final goodbye messages. One of the many reasons I did this was so that whoever was handling her could tell how loved and special she was...Louis made a point to comment on this stating that him and the staff really enjoyed reading the messages on her bag and could feel how loved and special she was. That small seemingly insignificant exchange truly helped my grieving heart so much, just to know she was seen in death the same way as when she was here, so very loved. I had 30 mins with her but of course was offered more time if I felt as though I need it, in fact when Louis came back in to check on us and I had said I was ready, after explaining everything he even confirmed again that I did not need more time. I was given the option to leave and come back when everything was done OR stay in the room dedicated for us while she was being cremated. I opted to stay with her throughout the entire process because I promised her I would be with her until the very end. Once Louis took her to the back I was still able to watch via a tv with a live feed in the bereavement room and Louis even came back in the room to let me know when it was finished and he was going to be opening the door to begin brushing her ashes out so that I may look away if I needed to. I was there from 9am-2:30pm and was able to go home with her and all of her prints and clay paws. I guess I'm leaving this review to sing the highest of praises for lasting paws employees and their viewing service option but also to let any grieving pet parents know: if you're on the fence on whether or not the viewing services is "worth the money" ....it 100% is-being able to kiss her sweet nose one last time was priceless and truly has helped so much with my grieving process. Also I hope Louis sees this and knows how much of a positive impact he made during the worst time of my life and how grateful I am for the care he showed my girl after her passing-He made this whole experience a bit more bearable and really honored my girl.

I'd trust them with any service you need.

Our 3.5 year old serval cat was hit by a vehicle in Gatlinburg. He was badly injured with blunt force trauma to the head and face, lacerations on his back, all four paws badly abraded and unknown internal injuries. We were at a loss as we did NOT have a vet and didn't have a way to get him in a crate. Silas wasn't socialized as a kitten so we took him on as no one else would. He is not a mean cat, just quite anxious. Silas was a replacement kitty as our first cat died in the Gatlinburg fires -- Silas has a special place. Although we cannot hold him we can pet him. I called many vets that day and was frustrated by the answers I received. WE REALLY NEEDED HELP AND NOONE SEEMED TO CARE. (It took 2 days to get Silas into a carrier) Finally, I called AESC and knew after talking for less than a minute that this is where we were taking Silas. When we arrived at AESC the staff quickly got Silas to an exam room and within 2 minutes Dr Rutherford appeared. He addressed Silas' pain immediately, (he had been hurting for 2 days), and had x-rays completed in minutes. The doctor listened, was knowledgeable and we discussed the possibilities with respect to the surgery Silas needed. His jaw was broken in 2 places and he had additional superficial injuries as well that would heal by themselves over time. The surgery went well and we continue to care for Silas at home. He was discharged the same day as the surgery. So grateful to have found this clinic. Hopefully we will not need emergency services again. But in the event we do, we know exactly where we will be taking Silas. And that knowledge in and of itself is reassuring as we haven't had any place that we felt comfortable taking him. Thank you to the staff and Drs. Rutherford, Bains and Boling at AESC. K shields

GoodRX pet vs office payout. I am an Army veteran, 100% disabled and live on my enlisted military pension, not getting rich, more on the poverty side. At the office each pack of 30 costs 50.00 and I have two dogs taking two pills daily, so I need them every two weeks costing me 200.00 a month just for this pills. Now at GoodRX pet these drugs are 25.00 for 30 tablets, meaning it would only cost 100.00 a month to order these drugs from GoodRx... let me tell you the rest of the story. So GoodRx says we can call the vet and have them approve this or they can give you a script and send it in, I chose have them call the Vet. Vet office tells them we no longer do this over the phone he must pick up a script.... No problem, called and said can you do the script, yes you can pick it up later. What does the script say, good for only 2 fills! Meaning every month I will have to get a new script from the office send it in and have possible delays in getting the med or pay the 200.00 cost, just making this inconvenient for myself. These times we are in, we all feel the crunch... now if you don't want me getting mail order drugs, then lower your price, GoodRX is still making a profit at 25.00 a pack, lower your price to 30.00 and I will pay that at your office. What I feel is by making me send a script in monthly to get my dogs meds, you are trying to penalize me for trying to save 100.00 a month, I am real confused. You can say, well the dog may not need the meds and that's why we limit you... yet I have to take my dogs in monthly for a blood test to make sure it's needed and not harmful to my pups or at the well check.... So if you tell me at the appointment the dog doesn't need the meds do you think I will still give it to them? Really confused. Maybe I am asking too much, a fair price to help me save money. I know folks think us military folks are not the brightest, I will agree I may not be as smart as someone with a degree... but something just doesn't seem right. I have no problem spending thousands a year on my pets health and wellbeing, I think this office treats my pets well... I am just lost why I need to pay 1200.00 extra a year for just one med.
