When the sight of your connection is as beautiful as the destination, you'll never be lost! - A woman with long, reddish hair and earrings is smiling at a black and white dog, both positioned near a rocky landscape with snow and water. The scene appears to be in a natural outdoor environment with large rocks and a stream or river, suggesting a scenic location for outdoor activities or exploration.

Caring Pathways was truly a blessing during one of the most difficult times in my life. Leslie, Desiree, and Destiney were absolute angels--kind, accommodating, and deeply understanding. It's only a YEAR later that I'm getting around to writing this review, and the experience with this company still makes me tear up, with gratitude! As a first-time client, I had some special requests, like keeping my dog's body for a few days while I finalized ideas for memorabilia. They honored my wishes with such grace and compassion. When I needed an urn, they went above and beyond, showing me their inventory so I could select the perfect one, as each wood option was uniquely cut and meaningful. Their attention to detail and genuine care for my situation made such a difference. Despite my attempts to give them a cash tip as a thank-you, they kindly refused and asked that I leave a review instead. So here it is (a YEAR later): Caring Pathways offers incredible service with a truly compassionate touch. I can't recommend them enough. The vet, Kaity, and her assistant that came to help us were just as much of a blessing as the ladies at the mortuary. You're all just the most extraordinary team of humans!! Thank you, again!!!! With love, from Teresa & Bourbon!

A dog with a white coat and brown markings is lying on a bed, sleeping peacefully. The dog is curled up on a dark-colored blanket, with its eyes closed. The room has a window with a closed blind and curtains hanging beside it. The background includes a wall and some household items, indicating a cozy indoor setting.

I truly cannot express how grateful I am to Caring Pathways and everyone I came into contact with at this fantastic organization. My sweet bean, Scout, was a very anxious and reactive pitty-mix. In the last year, we had noticed a cognitive decline as she could no longer meet friends, had a hard time remembering new people and was definitely losing her hearing. All of this made it difficult to bring her to a vet and even bring strangers into the home. The Caring Pathways team were incredibly responsive, empathetic, and caring throughout. They listened to me when I said that Scout would need heavy sedation leading up to the appointment and that she would need a higher dosage. The sedation medication worked beautifully so that by the time they arrived, Scout was flying high and the calmest she's ever been. The two doctors talked us through everything that was going to happen, allowed us to dictate when things were to happen and fully informed us of what to expect. Scout passed so peacefully, and while it was so hard to let her go, being able to give her the coziest send off has made the grieving process that much easier. Two days later we received a handwritten card from both doctors that was totally unaccepted but much appreciated. I cannot recommend them enough and so grateful that they exist and take such care in end of life for our fur family.

A small dog with a mixed, speckled coat of gray, brown, and white lies in a black pet bed on a light wood floor. The dog has one ear upright and the other slightly flopped, with a collar and a tag. The background includes a seating area with dark brown cushions and a cabinet with a light-colored door. The setting appears to be indoors, possibly in a pet-friendly space or waiting area.

On Tuesday we made the most difficult decision when being a dog owner. We decided it was time for our 14 year old terrier mix to cross the rainbow bridge. We were able to get an appt with Caring Pathways for the following morning. Dr. Mindy Brewster and Dr. Chelsea came to our house to help us say goodbye. This type of experience is never EVER fun, however, I am confident this was the BEST possible experience any family could have in this type of situation. They were kind, informative, patient and most of all loving. They explained the entire process to us, let us ask any questions we could possibly think of, and let us say goodbye in the way we wanted to. We never felt rushed, we felt understood and our feelings felt validated. They wanted to truly get to know not only us, but our dog. Talking about all the reasons why we love him so much. What I've learned working with these amazing women was that this decision is not always "clear". Maybe it is, but as their parents, you don't always want to see what may be right in front of you. When I talked through it with them, my biggest fear was maybe I wasn't making the right decision. Maybe I should have waited just a little longer? So many thoughts go through your head. But I learned it was evident to everyone else around me it was my baby's time, and I was making the right decision. And they took the time to talk me through it and help me be more comfortable in my decision. They did this without pushing me, and I couldn't be more thankful. The experience was a beautiful one. Although, painful and emotional for us parents, our baby peacefully went to sleep. Dr. Mindy made VERY sure he was ready when it was time, showing me that he was sleeping prior to the final steps. That reassured me and made me feel much more at ease. I held him as he passed, talking to him, and loving on him. Once the process was complete and confirmed he had passed, they gave us time to spend with our dog alone. Once we were ready, they came back inside our house, and finished up the process. We got a beautiful paw print of his with his name to keep forever. Although I don't wish this on anyone, it's the inevitable, and I can't recommend Caring Pathways enough. They were professional, compassionate, loving, I am SO thankful this is the route we took. If you love your pet like they are family, and you want the best possible goodbye you can give them, THIS is how you do it. Thank you both again for everything. Means the absolute world to us.

Gizmo the best dog EVER - A medium-sized dog with a brown coat is lying on a textured, patterned rug. The dog is facing the camera with its mouth open, tongue slightly out, and ears relaxed. The setting appears to be indoors, with the dog positioned comfortably on the rug, looking directly at the viewer.

This feels too soon for me to even be responding, but I must because last week was the hardest decision my husband and I had to make EVER! Gizmo was the best dog, best mind and attitude, his body was just failing and he couldn't hide the pain any longer. We had him on strong pain medication for a few years and it just wasn't working even though he was still so strong in his mind and so happy. Seriously the hardest decision ever but the quality of life was not fair for him we had to make the call seeing him in so much pain for the past 3 weeks. Caring pathways was absolutely amazing!! Gina Choi was so sweet she was so kind she explained everything and let us take all the time we needed. For the worst situation in the world it was the Beautifullest experience, and the best way to send Gizmo to be with a good Lord! Highly recommend them from the first call to the ( see you in heaven Gizmo) they cared and helped so very much!

From the moment I called, Caring Pathways took good care of our family. As one of the most difficult days, they were so thoughtful and respectful, making sure we were as "ok" as possible. The vet was compassionate and gentle - and I know she took the best care of Lady, our sweet pup, as anyone possibly could have. These are not businesses you look forward to hiring or reviewing, but I leave this review in the hope that it helps someone else when they need to call upon these services.

A brown dog with a red collar is sitting on a beige carpeted floor inside a room. The background includes electronic devices, such as a black router or modem, and cords. The dog is looking directly at the camera, and the photo appears to be taken with a flash, as indicated by the glowing eyes.

She is very knowledgeable and kind, took everything at our pace and explained the steps before and during the procedure. She took measures to ensure that our kitty, Cassie was as comfortable and calm as possible. After the injection to make her sleepy we got to give her her favorite treat. She fell asleep with her tongue out, completely at peace. Dr. Stephanie came over after a few minutes and verified that she was gone and reassured us that we'd done the right thing in ending her suffering. We even had the option to keep Cassie for a few hours after she passed to say our last goodbyes before dropping her off at the aquamation center. All day we kept saying how we couldn't believe how relieved we felt and how a lot of our anxiety had been that it would not be peaceful, like the time we'd lost our other cat. We had so much closure around Cassie's passing right after it happened and I think a lot of that was due to the fact that Journey Home did such an incredible job at making Cassie's last day so normal that she didn't know what was happening. A few weeks later Cindy dropped off a beautiful package of memory keepsakes and her ashes. We will treasure them forever. The services are a bit more expensive than going in to the vets office, but was cheaper than other in-home euthanasia options we looked into. If you have the funds to invest in this, it's definitely worth it. We felt at peace with our decision and felt supported by the whole team before, during and after. If we ever have to make this decision again, we will choose Journey Home.

It meant so much to do this hard, heart-breaking thing in the peaceful setting of my own home. I would recommend Journey Home to anyone seeking this kind of at home euthanasia. Thank you, Dr. Stephanie!!

We have used their services multiple times and were always happy with the care our pets received. However, this time we were gone for between one and two weeks due to a family emergency. I made sure to buy enough hay and food for all of the animals. When we were returned, the hay level was almost exactly at the same level it was before we left, making it immediately obvious the animals were not being given hay (2 guinea pigs and a rabbit). The rabbits food was at exactly the same level it was before and the kitten and guinea pigs were both out of water. We have a kitten as well who has severe separation anxiety and we told the sitter this and that they needed to make sure they took time to play with the kitten (the previous sitters with this service took time to play with the kitten and we often got really great pictures of the kitten.) No pictures at all and when we returned the kitten SCREAMED for almost 2 hours and was very distressed. Again, immediately obvious that she was blatantly ignored for the entire time we were gone. The sitters are supposed to fill out "pet logs" each time they are here. Some nights this was not even being done until the next morning when I would reach out to the owner of the business to inquire where it was. We also have a camera and noticed some days it would never detect any motion at all, suggesting there were days the sitter did not even enter the home to care for the pets. We reached out to the owner immediately with the concerns. He told us he'd "look into it" and would call us back. He never did, and instead charged our card and assessed a late fee. Afterwards, I reached out to the owner once again and did not get a response. What started as a complaint against a specific sitter has now grown with utter disgust at how this owner has fielded a complaint. Charging our card and hoping we'll go away is not how you "look into" issues. I am grateful that none of our pets were dead when we came home, but I think if we'd been gone much longer they would have been. Stay away from this pet care company. Instead of responding to us in any capacity, the business owner decided to take to my negative Google Review and Gaslight me via an owner response claiming "we would have let the sitter go if you reached out". We did. Multiple times. And that isn't the point. You charged our card AGAIN after everything happened. Pathetic. Do better.

The exam and X-ray showed she dislocated her ankle. Dr. Liza explained that because of the shape of the joint and the lack of a hard brace to hold it into place exactly where it needs to stay meant that it would be hard to get it to heal correctly without a surgery needing to be done, but that it was still possible. The three options were to let it heal with minimal bracing so she wouldn't get a ton of atrophy, a surgery where pins would be used to pin the joint in place while it healed (with or without a second surgery to get the pins taken back out), or to possibly amputate. I thought it would be best for her to keep her foot, so the first two were better than amputating for me. We decided to brace it as best as she could with bandages and come back the the following week to check on it. At that appointment we'd determine if she would have enough scar tissue to try to set the joint in place again to possibly heal without surgery, or if a surgery could be performed same day. Dr. Liza was so incredibly thorough about all the risks involved for all of the options and I felt very comfortable with the decision I made. She was up front about never having performed the pin surgery before, and informing me that she would do research on it between now and the second appointment to let me know if she felt comfortable doing it. She called me to let me know she wouldn't feel comfortable performing it, and didn't want Penny to be a test since it's such an invasive procedure on such a small rabbit. She tried setting it in place again, but couldn't get it to line up perfectly, and gave me information to a couple different places that may have doctors that could. For anyone needing this information, no one within a 90 mile radius of Denver will do that surgery. It was a pain the the butt to get answers from CSUs Veterinary program, (if anyone in CO would perform it, it would be this place, since they do a lot with exotics) but did at least they picked up eventually. I was able to get refills on Penny's medications easily during the time needed to find out the university could not do it. I was very happy that Dr. Liza was quick to respond to emails whenever I had questions, and she even called us to check up on Penny! Penny is able to get around pretty well without either surgery and without medications currently. I know that may change in the future, but in the meantime she is happy hopping around with both feet. I will absolutely be going to Critter Care every single time I need veterinary services, especially for my rabbit! Their service has been unparalleled!
