The 3 ladies (vets/ techs) I interacted with treated me and my cat with so much thoughtfulness and their wisdom resulted in saving my little dudes life. I was ready to euthanize my 18 y/o cat, but they thought maybe he could bounce back from a debilitating stroke he had and convinced me to give him some time. Extremely Disappointing Experience We arrived at VEG with our dog after he was bitten by another dog and had a significant wound on his leg. We stood at the entrance ringing the bell for five minutes before anyone even let us inside. Once inside, we waited approximately 40 minutes, watching other patients being attended to while no one checked on our dog. Eventually, someone examined him and then simply texted us an estimate for approximately $2,300. No one came over to explain the charges or discuss the recommended treatment with us. When I reviewed the estimate, I saw $400 listed as miscellaneous charges and another $350 for stitches--even though we were subsequently told that our dog didn't actually need stitches. At that point, we decided to leave. We immediately drove to VRCC Medical Hospital, where the difference was remarkable. They took care of our dog immediately. The doctor personally came out, examined the wound, and reached a very different conclusion from the medical technician at VEG regarding the treatment he needed. And here's the real kicker: even with stitches and all of the treatment our dog actually received, our bill at VRCC was roughly one-third of VEG's $2,300 estimate. Based on our experience, VEG gave us the impression that the focus was more on generating revenue than providing compassionate, appropriate care for our pet. Do yourself and your pet a favor: skip VEG and drive down the road to a real veterinary hospital. You'll likely get better care, a doctor's evaluation, and save yourself a considerable amount of money. read more

When we got there, we were welcomed and the VEG process of remaining with our dog was explained to us. The doctors and the staff were very cordial and gave us all the options needed to make sure that our puppy received the best care. read more

We had a medical emergency for our chicken, Muffin, and even though this vet clinic doesn't specialize in exotic animals, they went absolutely above and beyond to provide loving care to our chick. Doctor Park and Doctor Nikki H were the two with us most of the time and they would make sure we had a nice comfortable room, snacks, coffee and even coloring books and pencils for my toddler. They certainly could've done their job and we'd have been satisfied, however their passion for care of (any) animal clearly showed in how much effort they put in to our visit. You'd have thought we were their only patient in the office! And when you have to take your pet to an ER you're already on edge and stressed and they did everything in their power to help ease ours. I highly highly recommend and if we ever do need emergency care, this is the place we will be - and I recommend the same for everyone else. Thanks so much! read more

Love the open concept - we can be in the room while the proceedures are being done. It's consoling to the poor little, frightened ones. The employees and kind and comforting, as they should be. I appreciated that. The drawback is that before they even begin - the doctor gives you a bill to pay. When any additional procedure is needed - the doctor hands you another bill to pay. This occurred a minimum of 4 times while I was there. The pressure of the bill and having to make life and death choices makes for a not clear-headed decision. I understand that they want their money. I'm sure that can be an issue - however - putting a clip board with a paper to sign and a card charger in front of your face throughout the time there became a bit much. I was getting angry by the end instead of giving my baby the support that I should have been. I don't know the solution from the doctors viewpoint - but this was not the way to handle it from mine. read more

Dr. Claire exceeded expectations!! She was so sweet and smart and educated me on my cat Kiki's asthma. She answered any questions I had and gave me some print outs and very valuable information. Most pleasant visit I've had with my Kiki at the ER! She made me feel a lot better about Kiki's condition and calmed my nerves about her behaviors. I called the location on East Colfax after my cat ate a very long string - her usual vet was booked up and it was near the end of the day, so they suggested VEG. When I called, they got the necessary information efficiently and when I asked just one question, they had me on the phone with Dr. Price immediately. Not five minutes after walking into the building, they had my cat on an exam table in a private room (she gets very anxious and agitated when going to the vet, and they could tell that having her in the common triage/treatment room would not be good for her). My cat literally attacks vets during any of her appointments. I'm always nervous how vets will handle this as I'm sure it is not enjoyable for them either. They handled her attacks with ease and without any aggressive tactics. Dr. Price and Lauren, the Veterinary Nurse that was caring for my cat, explained my cat's situation, her care, and possible next steps to me in a way I could understand. Any drug/medication that they administered to my cat, they told me its name, its purpose, and its effects. There was not a moment that I was not with my cat. I was there for her intake, her x-ray, and her endoscopy - they never shut me out. They had snacks and drinks available for all pet parents to make us feel comfortable. My cat's endoscopy was performed in the common triage/treatment area (she was sedated for the procedure so this wasn't stressful for her at all - but, they made sure not to bring her out until the sedative had fully kicked in). So many people were bringing their animals in while I was in there with my cat. It was actually very reassuring to see how quickly and calmly the whole team responded to any emergency they were faced with - and there were many. It was truly incredible to see. There's no question that the whole staff truly cares about the animals and the owners that come to their clinic/hospital. I still can't believe that even with so many patients, it felt like my cat was the only patient there with how attentive they were. Dr. Price performed the endoscopy and retrieved the string in under 10 minutes. Her movements were sure and smooth and my cat was under for very minimal time. I was so relieved - any pet owner knows that having your pet under general anesthesia is scary. I am truly so grateful that this is where I brought my cat for emergency care. If you are ever faced with an urgent situation for your animal, I absolutely recommend this location. read more

I took my dog Peanut tonthe vet on the 19th, my dog was experiencing loss of use of her back legs. The Doctor Determined it was a bulge disc. They prescribed meds. Tonight the 21st I noticed my dog had blood in her urine, and vomiting. I contacted the vet as I was told to. I called the Doctor on duty said they couldn't help because they already gave me a discount. It seems more about money that quality of care for your pet. I do not recommend this clinic. read more

I called this morning since it's the 4th of July and my French bulldog has been having diarrhea the last few days. My regular vet is closed today so I was getting worried. I spoke with a Dr here, wish I remembered her name? The Dr I spoke with listened to my concerns and instead of saying"come in" , she made me feel better. After my phone conversation I felt this place really cares about animals and isn't chasing the money. Honestly you do not find this often. I took my baby into VEG on Hampden on 5/24/25. Kitty had taken a turn for the worse and although I had scheduled an in-home euthanasia for her at noon, at 5am she was not doing well and I couldn't watch any longer. The staff at VEG Hampden were wonderful for such a heartbreaking moment. My partner and I had so much time to grieve and be with my cat before and after they put her to sleep. I was so worried beforehand about it being too cold and clinical for my Kitty's final moments, but they had such warmth and kindness toward her during the entire process. I felt heard and respected about my wishes for Kitty and today I picked up her ashes in the most beautiful wooden box thank you to the vet who worked early morning last Saturday thank you a million times. We brought our puppy George into VEG DTC with early stage parvo and internal bleeding. The care that followed was a masterclass in contradiction--equal parts exceptional and dangerously negligent. Let's start with the good: Ryah was nothing short of a lifesaver. She advocated for our pup when no one else would, stepping in during a moment of neglect that could've had fatal consequences. Her calm, competence, and compassion stood out starkly against the chaos. If not for Ryah, our George may not have made it into the afternoon. Rachel R. was direct, informative, and clearly invested. Sharon had a rough poke moment but remained kind and gentle in all other aspects. Dr. Menavitz gave a thoughtful, detailed discharge and care plan that helped us feel confident about George's direction and overall prognosis. Now for the part that compels me to write this review: Jeanette, the charge nurse during morning rounds, was *inexcusable* in her behavior and tone. Upon identifying our pup as "infected," she repeated--no less than seven times in under two minutes--that he would be "last on the treatment list" due to his status. Her dismissiveness, lack of urgency, and visible annoyance toward us as owners was shocking, particularly in an emergency setting where infection control is routine and expected. Our dog was actively recovering from a life-threatening illness. Her attitude made it clear that his survival was an inconvenience. That is not acceptable in any veterinary setting--especially not one charging critical care rates. Treatment delays included IV pumps left beeping without response, fluids paused for extended periods, and multiple missed vitals checks. These would have gone unnoticed had we not intervened directly--more than once. George survived thanks to a few remarkable team members--but the fact that he did so despite the systemic failures and dismissive treatment from senior staff says everything. We will never return to VEG DTC. But we will remember and deeply thank Ryah, Rachel, Sharon, and Dr. Menavitz for their roles in saving our dog's life. read more

Okay, I went into vedge emergency group on Friday night with my cat down in Denver. Tech area, I don't know the address right now but I want to say I was under a lot of stress had had 3 cats that were sick. And I was in an emergency vet. Don't have a lot of money just was very distressed. And they did an amazing job to help me get my cat well without charging me an absolute fortune. They worked with me with the budget that I had. And I must say, my cat is a one00 times better, just from that one emergency visit. I am so pleased with them and the way that they handled it. They were very busy with a lot of other animals that were a lot more More urgent than my girl, but they managed to take care of her quickly when they had their time to and I'm pleased with how they treated me with respect. Our geriatric dog started having pain suddenly (on a Sunday, of course, so we couldn't go to our regular vet.) We've had bad experiences in the past with emergency vets charging exorbitant fees, having long wait times, with haggard employes and poor communication. We were pleasantly surprised that VEG got us right in. Our vet, Luke, was thorough, kind, and professional. They apologized for being busy, but I dont know why because we were in and out in 45 minutes. Seems like the standard visit fee is $180 if there are no add-on procedures or prescriptions, which is very reasonable. We would definitely go back. read more

First let me say, I am no Karen, but when you experience something this horrible, you gotta warn other pet parents..... Took my dog in on Sun 10/20. She is a 70lb Rhodesian Catahoula mix and is 10 yrs old with Kidney Disease (KD) diagnosed back in 2019, and has the start of liver issues. Sunday morning she threw up on the bed...there was blood mixed in with the spit. I call them. Girl answers, I tell her "my dog vomited with what appears to be blood in the vomit, should I bring her in" and the girl says, "yes, and we will let the team know you are on the way." I get there and there is only one other human client, but an array of animals in the cages. They tell me it will be 20 mins and a vet will be over to see me. I NEVER SAW A VET. A vet tech came over and asked me why my dogs hackles were up. That is the moment I SHOULD HAVE LEFT. But I was in the throws of anxiety over blood in the spit up, and stupidly trusted VEG to help me understand what was going on with my senior dog. I told the vet tech that my dog has kidney disease since 2019 and hand him paperwork that shows there was an issue starting with my senior dog's liver. I told several people there that my dog has KD and possible liver issues. They take FIVE HOURS...you read that correctly, to pull blood, take an xray, and tell me they had no idea what was wrong with my dog but they "THOUGHT" she "may have gotten into rat poison." We will circle back to that.... At no time in the 5 hrs was there a vet in the building...there were plenty of very sweet, caring vet techs, but if I needed vet techs, I would have gone for free to VETCO. These guys are like VETCO - they are good at fixing ear infections, pulling out a fish hook, you know MINOR THINGS that a vet tech can handle. They NEVER SAID, "We are unable to help a serious health issue with your senior dog - please take her to an emergency QUALIFIED AND DEGREED VETERINARIAN." I kept asking, "Is this going beyond what was originally quoted" and they kept saying, absolutely not, and we would tell you if it was. Well, they charged me $500 more than the original quote. On the Care Form they gave me to go with her medications, they said, and I quote, "Feed your dog CHICKEN AND BEEF WITH RICE" to help her stomach. This is a dog with KIDNEY DISEASE. You do NOT have a dog with KD eat meat!!!! Zero care on your care plan. Incorrect diagnosis. Overcharged the quote without my prior consent. So on Tuesday, I take her to a regular vet and low and behold, rat poison is not the issue, it's liver LIKE I SAID and OFFERED UP blood drawn a month ago for them to read but of course they could not read it, because, drum roll please, THESE ARE A BUNCH OF VET TECHS. $1600 later, with the wrong diagnosis and being held hostage for FIVE HOURS being promised they would deliver an answer, I had to spend another $600 on the vet's office to actually get an accurate assessment of what is going on. To add insult to injury, VEG advised I come back the next day. That's a HARD NOPE. If your pet is super sick, call a degreed veterinarian to come to your house....surprise, it may be less money, and a quicker diagnosis or direction of what is going on with your pet. On the flip side, if this was VETCO, I would be giving these vet techs 5+ stars because they DO want to provide BASIC CARE like vaccines and such to pets, but if your dog has been attacked by another animal, or is sick, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE as no one is qualified at the facility, and your pet will be given (as mine was) the wrong medications, which will harm and not help. read more

After initial intake, I was presented with a proposed plan of treatment including pricing, which I could approve, alter or decline. This was very helpful and prevented a big surprise at checkout. VEG provides excellent service, and I recommend them 1000%. My regular vet referred me due to the urgency of my pet's needs. What I valued most: During my initial call, an administrator provided a highly accurate estimate of typical costs associated with my pet's issue and seemed happy to do so. I appreciated being sent straight to a human rather than dealing with bots or automated services. I found their prices very reasonable - especially considering the level of service they provide "on demand." They only take walk-in patients, but there was no wait time, and I was sent a check-in link to speed things up. In addition to the facility being clean and impressive, I noted they have adequate staff who cooperate to complete tasks efficiently - something other urgent care clinics tend to lack, in my experience. Staff presented a care proposal before treatment in a clear and transparent manner, and all recommendations matched what online sources detailed as being appropriate. VEG Staff did their jobs with warmth, empathy, and pragmatism, and though I entered feeling anxious, I left smiling. From start to finish, VEG did a fantastic job. Our Yorkie had a mole that was nicked by the groomer and became an open sore on his back. He was crying and was in enough pain that l was very concerned.He kept crying and trying to lick the mole. It was after midnight and l called the veterinarian. We had never been here before. The staff was amazing. I told them what was going on and they had the vet talk to me on the phone. She did say we should bring him in. When we arrived they were ready to see our little furry family member. Every single employee at that clinic was professional and they were the kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. We left with meds, instructions and a happy heart. Definitely would recommend. read more
