Traveling cross-country with my English Bulldog, Titus, from San Diego to Rochester, NY has been quite the adventure -- and we hit an unexpected bump in the road when we stopped in Denver for the night. Titus wasn't acting like himself; lethargic, breathing a little heavier than usual, and just clearly not feeling great. As any bulldog owner knows, you don't take chances with these guys, especially on the road. I ended up taking him to Evolution Veterinary Specialists in Denver, and honestly, I couldn't be more grateful. From the moment we walked in, their team was kind, calm, and professional -- exactly what I needed in the middle of a stressful situation with my best buddy. They assessed him quickly and thoroughly, and it turned out he needed some intravenous medication and monitoring overnight. Leaving Titus anywhere is hard -- especially in an unfamiliar city -- but they made sure I knew he was in the best hands. They kept me updated and treated him like he was one of their own. By the next morning, he was perking up, wagging that little stump of a tail, and ready to hit the road again like the tough little traveler he is. Please do not go to this veterinary hospital!! I bought my 5 month old puppy in because he ate toxic plants. It happened at 745pm. He was wobbly,weak, lathrgic by 830. I brought him in around 930, after trying to get activated charcoal but all stores were closed. I brought in a oval pink flower pedal and told the nurse and doctor that he had eatin long white flower pedals off the floor of an art gallery. The doctor said he was having neurological issues. Then, The doctor said my dog must have ate marijuana. I don't use illicit drugs or drink. I saw my puppy eat the flowers. I told both medical people that it was not marijuana it was Daisy's and some other flower. I was not given help, told to leave. I asked so you are not going to treat him and their response was no. I'm going to escalate this to the authoritys and will be proceeding with further actions if my dog has permanent neurological issues. His back legs still do not support him. When I called to ask why did the doctor not listen to me. They said their not botanists. I replied then why did you call poison control and identify the flower pedals. They said not their job. There are tons of toxic plants for cats and dogs. It is their job to know. This was the worst experience ever. And my puppy may never be the same. Please don't not go to this emergency room!!! I would not recommend this Vet hospital to any pet parents I know that love their pet. If it your only option PLEASE do your due diligence and possibly get a second opinion. While this hospital looks nice, the care as well as the communication were extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Staff were cold, dismissive, and often rude. I was made to feel like an inconvenience for asking basic questions. Very rushed and once you leave good luck ever getting ahold of them again. I'm not sure if these people have ever been trained on how to speak to pet parents that are learning most of this information for the first time. I was sent away with no appointment notes, findings, or clear prescription instructions were provided. And NEVER received them until I kept calling multiple times just to get information from my visit that I had forgotten or wanted to relay to the primary vet. Had to call about results multiple times before they were finally sent. If you do take your dog here please be weary because we are trusting these "doctors" with our fur babies. The doctor had extremely poor communication skills, came off mad and annoyed and showed no compassion for either my dog or me during an incredibly difficult time. This experience was already heartbreaking, and their lack of empathy made it worse. I left feeling dismissed, confused, and made to feel dumb for advocating for my pet by all parts of hospital staff, multiple times. I had an emergency with my guinea pig. No one could see him until I called here! They had staff there and ready! The kindness from the front desk to the doctor assistant still has me blown away! The nurse even asked if she could give me a HUG! As I was crying my eyes out. They did X-rays and had options they didn't just say to put him down! They gave me hope! I recommend this vet to anyone and everyone! They know Guinea pigs! And that is impossible to find. From the first call and them assuring us we wouldn't have a wait, the amazing and emphatic staff at the front desks, the emergency specialists (I forgot the position name they called over the intercom), to the expert doctors who cared for my love during her overnight stay all the way until I could pick her up, I felt well informed and all staff was very supportive with my 2 million questions. While it was very expensive, my baby had an emergency and throughout intake to checkout they provided estimates and options. I was never blindsided with hidden fees, which I feel like happens even with my regular vet. I was very well pleased with this place in some ways but not others. It was wonderful that they gave us our own room to wait in and let us keep it while I tried using my phone to make phone calls to get money and go online to try to get funding (long story but actually I have enough funds but those funds were not quite available just yet) (and unfortunately I did not find that out until we were already there). TERRIFIC job on being patient with us and on letting us take our time to collect funds and then come back later if necessary. There is no other place I know of that would have let us keep the room for that long (two hours approximately so thank you so, so much!!!). Unfortunately, however, the actual quality of care was less than what I was expecting for $185. The only recommendations seemed to be a different type of food, and x-rays which most likely won't turn up anything, maybe an ultrasound later and/or consultation with a specialist later. I'm looking for someone more knowledgeable about this particular type of case and the sooner the better and I'm actually still looking as of today (we were there yesterday). Was hoping for at least the offer to have one of their vets speak to a specialist for us but this did not happen. I would like to have a more in-depth type of consult for the price. I think that $185 is a great price to pay for really really good veterinary information which also includes at least some experience in the particular field, but a little high to pay just to get seen. I really like this place but medically speaking it is not the right one for this particular case unless a specialist can be seen. That happens and I am not blaming any of them, it basically turned out to be just an interesting experience and not that much more and I really am looking for actual emergency care or at least urgent care, which needs to come from someone who understands that the particular problem in question can get more urgent the longer you wait. Will be seeing someone else for her care as promptly as possible. The vet that I listed as "primary" is also actually just the vet for this surgery and has turned out not to be ideal for the after care and I am very much looking for someone more knowledgeable in a particular field or a few particular fields. It was indicated to me over the phone before we came that if you do turn out to need a specialist then the attending vet can speak to one for you. In person this was not actually offered or done. I was glad that one of the vet techs administered the medications that we came with, I love the room with the "Cat Crossing" sign on it, you guys went above and beyond in so many ways but in the long run it turned out that we got everything EXCEPT the level of expertise that I was looking for. That is apparently only from a specialist and if they don't have one available or they don't think that you need one then they apparently tend to just refer you back to your regular vet. Our "regular vet" on this case (only known her since the 24th of April) was probably actually available but I was looking very specifically to find somebody else and get a second opinion on something. Sort of did, sort of didn't. I probably also forgot to say that ​there have already been x-rays done but it was before surgery so there is a slight possibility that perhaps something or other may have changed. This is the second vet so far to say that having the x-rays done is supposedly "for my peace of mind". It is not at all in the slightest "for my peace of mind". It is an attempt to find out whether x-rays are necessary in this case or not and the only way to find that out for sure is by having them done. My pet is not doing fine but with slight concerns perhaps. I am not just trying to confirm that everything is fine. I already know that it isn't. I am trying to do what is possible within reason and what makes sense to be checked on as I see it. The first vet who said the words "for your peace of mind" is the one that I already did not think was the right one for this case and partially for that exact reason. That is also the vet that recommends Evolution for emergency and after hours care. This was in the daytime on a weekday and I really was just looking for a really good second opinion and I think that I will have to look elsewhere for that at this time. Thank you for the food as well but it was disappointing that it was only one can. Medically the experience overall was not what I was looking for on this case. However it is a nice place and I can see maybe going back there some other time for something else. Thank you for taking the time for us but we still need additional care afterward anyway. Prices are also probably a little high to have very much of the care there. I went there anyway for specific reasons. They are close by, they are well spoken of, etc. Expectations were more than met as far as bedside manner and convenience and so on but I am still looking for the actual care. read more

I have a very ornery, wiggly dachshund who can be quite the handful and Brady was always so patient with him! A Grateful Heart in the Midst of Grief The past three months have been some of the hardest my husband and I have ever faced. Just two and a half years after losing our son, we found ourselves navigating another heartbreaking loss. The weight of our grief has been immense, but through it all, our friends at Evolution have been by our side, offering unwavering support, love, and kindness. I cannot express enough gratitude for the way they have carried us through this painful time. Just before Christmas, our beloved Chance went into heart failure. We rushed him to VEG, where they stabilized him and referred us to Evolution to see a cardiology specialist. From the moment we walked through their doors, they were expecting us and immediately took Chance in, ensuring he was safe and stable. After an echocardiogram, we discussed a plan for his care. Because of them, he was able to come home and spend Christmas with us. For a month, he did well, and we cherished every moment. At his follow-up appointment, we saw signs that he was struggling again. Our wonderful nurse and doctor recommended one more medication, hoping it would give him more time and a good quality of life. We tried everything, but two days later, Chance stopped breathing at home. We were devastated and in shock. Even though it was after hours, I called Evolution, and they could not have been kinder. When we arrived, we were met with such love and compassion. In one of my darkest moments, they held me up, wrapping me in comfort and peace. Chance was 11, and his best friend, BW, was 15. BW struggled deeply after losing his brother. We worked with our vet, doing everything we could to help him, and for a while, we saw glimmers of hope. But as time passed, BW stopped eating, then walking. We had an appointment scheduled for Tuesday, but on Sunday night, during the President's Day holiday weekend, BW went to sleep and passed away in the night. We were absolutely heartbroken. At 1:30 a.m., unsure of what to do, I once again leaned on my friends at Evolution. Without hesitation, they answered my call with kindness and compassion, guiding us through what to do next. Every single interaction we have had with Evolution has been filled with gentleness, love, and understanding. Today, I picked up BW's remains, and I was completely overwhelmed with grief. The woman at the front desk was so kind and calm--just like every person we have encountered at Evolution. A few weeks ago, we received a beautiful handwritten card from them, filled with personal messages of love and shared sorrow for Chance. It wasn't just a standard sympathy note--it was real, heartfelt, and filled with care. That meant the world to us. The night Chance passed, our incredible nurse spoke to BW like she was his aunt--not just as if she was, but because in that moment, she truly was. She shared a story of losing her pet turtle, connecting with us in a way that made us feel seen and understood. Losing both of our boys has been unbearable, especially coming so soon after the loss of our son. But Evolution made it just a little more bearable. They brought peace to our heartbreak, and I cannot begin to thank them enough. If you are a pet owner, I wholeheartedly recommend Evolution. My overall experience here has been beyond poor. The staff communication is abysmal. My dog was sent home without his medication and instead we received another patients prescription. When I alerted the staff I waited fo 45 minutes with no response (this is a very ill dog) I called back and asked that a script be sent to a local pharmacy immediately. The response I received was that they would do that but I would need to call around to see which pharmacy had the medication - they would not assist with that. I called again to get another prescription letting them know that I would need them to call it in to my local pharmacy. A while later I got a text that my prescription was available to pick up - AT THEIR OFFICE - 40 minutes from my house. These people clearly don't have their act together. Additionally, no one has called to check to see how my dog is doing. We saw Dr. Fink who has absolutely no bedside manner and really should not be working with people facing hard situations with their animals. She is cold and clinical and really doesn't seem to have much interest in humans or animals. To top it all off I was told that the biopsy results would take 5-7 days which in my opinion is far too long a wait when your animal is in pain and you needs answers. We will not be back and I recommend you look elsewhere for care for your sick animals. read more

Money is their motivation and i found them to be overpriced relative to other cardiac vets in Colorado . There is a reason they charge up front and it's because they operate the business like an up charging car wash . The appointments felt rushed and delayed at the same time . Yes, it's somehow possible . And while the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and qualified they are not informative nor forthcoming with their time or empathy. the various appointment "policies" they have in place are in short ; greedy. they charge more and more often . My last physical visit was in 2022 . Last week my local/current vet at cherralyn animal hospital asked me to get an out patient echocardiogram which he does not have the equipment to do. Although I stopped going to EVS because I previously had a two bad experiences with them i thought they are located near by so give them a call to get this simple echocardiogram for my current vet to interpret and diagnose my dog. Those two bad experiences: 1. I came in for appointment with cardiologist (second visit ), when they took my dog To the back to run vitals and blood test , they also gave my dog an EKG , which was a charge more then double the original appointment cost , So I did not authorize that ekg and then vet comes in tells charging me for an EKG , so I challenged them and said "you don't ask the owner for permission to do procedures that have additional charges?" So then she proceeds hold the pertinent information of my dogs health ransom unless I'm OK with a charge I didnt previously agree to. Mind you , At that point she already read and knew what was going on with ekg, So why wouldn't she just tell me and provide good service , well because she didn't care about the dog or its owners experience because she needed that additional charge for ekg test that cost them nothing absolutely nothing to perform . The test is electrical rods connected to a device that measures the heartbeat rhythm and its strength . Anyways, they don't charge me for the EKG and they barely tell me anything of what's going on with my dog even though I paid for the cardiologist visit , second time, so we stay on the medication regimen that he was already on at time and life goes on, waste of $. Fast-forward to February 2024 chewy online needs my prescription updated , so I contact evolution and they demand that I come back in for a full cardiologist visit with with test that are gonna amount to over $800 in charges just to get his already in place prescription renewed, like why not just let us keep the on going prescription with out demanding more money / another unneeded visit ... If that is not predatory , I don't know what is .So with horrible experience ,I took my business to a new vet , cheralynn animal hospital ( amazing people and very knowledgeable ) . Now present day I called for that outpatient echocardiogram which should cost about $350 and they demand that I have to do a visit with their cardiologist in order to and the echocardiogram exam . , . And to boot the receptionist was snappy about it , like zero kindness, just this is our policy we have to do this and it's gonna cost x . Doesn't matter if he is being seen by another vet and your don't want to meet with cardiologist we have to charge your for that visit too and the test. Well I reached out to CVCA , got his echocardiogram and ekg and the actual vet visit was included in the cost of the BOTH tests and had a great experience under the circumstances. read more

If you love and care about your pet I would highly recommend not going to EVS. Our dog was experiencing breathing issues and our Vet recommended we see an oncologist. Our friends had a good experience with their cat seeing Dr. Hocker at EVS and so, with that in mind, we ended up scheduling with them. When we went in for our consultation we were seen by Dr. Heidi Fink. While we had assumed we would be seeing Dr. Hocker, Dr. Fink made us aware that Dr. Hocker had left and she would be treating our dog. This is where everything started to go awry: Three times we had to put him through the stress of travelling across town and being in an unknown place on top of having to not feed him so that he could get his tests. The first time was because their screening machine broke down when he was already out there. Then Dr. Fink scheduled tests that we're outside the bounds of what we assumed he would be being treated for. Regardless, we did it because we love our dog and would do anything for him, and, finally our friends received stellar treatment there. When we finally did get him in for a screening, I was in the waiting room for four hours on Monday when I decided to ask if I could get an update from one of their front desk staff (older woman, short gray hair). I wasn't hurried and I was polite; I just wanted to gauge my meeting schedule as I had been working from their waiting room. She looked me straight in the eyes, picked up the phone, pushed a number, then immediately put the phone down after talking to no one and said, "Oh, he's probably in surgery still." and went right back to doing whatever she was doing beforehand like I didn't exist. Funny enough, Doctor Fink had been calling my wife at the same time to let her know that our dog was done with testing, and I could come back to talk. As a manager and working professional, if anyone did that to one of my clients, they would be looking for work the next day. Strange thing, people who are under stressful situations don't enjoy being treated like inconveniences by people who are supposed to care for their loved ones. So, I go in and meet with Dr. Fink, who has the bedside manner of Jack Kevorkian. I asked Dr. Fink, what would be follow up treatment for our pooch given the options on the table. She looked me straight in the eye and said, "everyone dies." Only later, after our test results come back do we find out that Dr. Fink wasn't an oncologist, never was and never has been. Dr. Hocker had left, and our appointment had already been set, someone needed to take our money. The whole time she was misrepresenting her role there, likely so we wouldn't go somewhere else. When my wife asked about seeing an actual oncologist, Dr Fink replied, "I know someone in Windsor." Absolutely bonkers, but not surprising now, reading the other reviews and other folks' experience with EVS and Sunny Dr. Fink. To EVS, you and your pet do not matter. You are simply a cash extraction unit for their business. Again avoid at all costs. read more

Last week we took our badly injured dog into EVS, which was recommended to us by our usual veterinarian. Sheba was an Anatolian shepherd Pyrenees mix about 100 pounds and 11 years old. EVS informed us of charges in advance, which were typical for veterinary care. As soon as we brought her, she was examined by Dr. Thyen who diagnosed a spinal cord injury and gave us a complete and professional explanation and summary of her examination and our options. Reluctant to accept the bad news, we requested additional tests, but the conclusions did not change. Our sweet girl was in bad condition, in pain despite pain medication, and with no real chance of recovery, so we tearfully agreed the best thing we could do for her was to call it done. We then had opportunity to say goodbye and be with her at the end. The whole time we were there the staff at EVS was competent, professional, gracious, and kind. Thank all of you so much! This place is just wonderful. From the welcoming front desk to the staff giving updates on our kitty, to the nurses and doctors. Our kitty developed diarrhea and vomiting, refusing to eat and was hiding under the bed. Arriving at 7 am he was quickly seen, given anti-nausea medication and fluids. Lab work was done and an abdominal ultrasound to rule out any obstructions. We were able to pick him up with food recommendations and medications. read more

Our dog, Wilson suddenly got very ill. We took him to multiple vets, including EVS. At EVS, we had a great experience with Dr. Jackie Thaeder! She was so kind, supportive, and helpful. She made sure we understood what was going on and what our options were. She recommended emergency surgery, which was terrifying. Unfortunately, EVS did not have the specialist surgeon on site that Wilson needed. However, Dr. Thaeder went above and beyond giving us emergency hospital options nearby and calling them herself to make sure they could get us in asap. Thankfully, our boy made it through surgery with no complications and is on day 4 of recovery and doing great! Dr. Tomoko Jensen-Otsu, Chelsea and Rowe were so sweet and accommodating, as well. This place has the friendliest staff and I quickly felt comfortable putting my dog in their care. They are great at communication which is essential for emergency care and really helped ease some of the stress I had while bringing in my sick dog here back in June for an after hours emergency vet visit. There was a bit of waiting which is to be expected while tests are being performed. Same thing happens in a human ER. They were under construction so I'm not sure if their waiting rooms were the normal ones used but if so, the only thing I'd recommend is something to distract (like something playing on the TV in the room while we wait). Because otherwise you're just sitting there in a quiet empty room. Thankfully they had chargers that would fit multiple types of devices so I ended up just using my phone and watching videos. I really like how everything else is handled. They started out by taking my dogs history and confirming the symptoms I had placed on the intake form. Then they would create a care plan of the testing that they would recommend to diagnose what was going on, again making sure to confirm history and symptoms. After it was clear what they thought should happen, they would go over pricing for the testing for approval. Because she has quite a few health issues that needed to be ruled out as the cause of her symptoms through tests I was expecting an bill of a few thousand so when one of the staff said hundred at the end of the number for the cost of the tests (not including the intake fee) I couldn't say approve fast enough. With the intake fee, tests, and the medications the visit ended up costing me a little over a thousand dollars, which in my experience with my girl and her health issues, IS a good price for the tests and x-rays during after-hours ER visit. This place is responsible for by far, the worst vet experience I've ever dealt with. Come in for an emergency appointment to have my dogs swollen lip attended to. After not letting me be present for the exam, they wanted to sedate her because she was timid. After talking the girl into letting me handle her while they completed the exam, she came to the assumption that it wasn't infected. I was sent home with pain pills and a $220 bill. Took her to another local vet I was recommended to this morning, and was told it's definitely a minor infection and needs antibiotics. Do some research and take your dog elsewhere. This place is the same as most human hospitals; instead of addressing the problem, they mask it with pain pills that have irreversible effects on internal organs. What a joke read more

I scheduled and paid $185 two weeks in advance for a consultation with the veterinary cardiologist Dr. Bakaar. My appointment was cancelled 15 minutes before the appointment time (I was halfway there already) and I was offered the option to see a vet tech instead. My pup needs a cardiologist, NOT a tech. Their next available appointment is another two weeks out, which isn't an option for a dog with a heart condition. This veterinary clinic has an unreasonable upfront charge of $185 before services are even provided AND a 48-hour cancellation policy, after which you lose your deposit. Yet they cancel our appointment 15 minutes before? Terrible. I made a new appt for my pup with the cardiologist at VRCC and there's no upfront charge , and we are seeing the cardiologist tomorrow. Skip Evolution and find a provider who cares more about the animals than the money. read more

Warning: Do not use the veterinary clinic!! I am appalled at how expensive this clinic is, and how slow they are when dealing with your animals emergency. They charge you by the night and even the half day at an astronomical rate. We were there from Sunday-Tuesday and even discharged our dog early due to the fact that we had accrued an 8k dollar bill. If we would have stayed another night it would have cost us 1k more, leaving us at 9k. Here is the email I wrote their Clinic Admin. I will update this review as I hear back from them regarding our concerns related to this animal hospital. My name is ----------- and I currently took my dog, -------, to your business in Lakewood. After leaving today I wrote an honest review with not enough time to actually detail my concerns and frustration with Evolution Clinic. I was feed up with the treatment of my pup along with the astronomical bill this animal hospital left us with. I will be editing this review as I look over the information provided and assess all the details of my dogs treatment in this facility. It is my belief your establishment took advantage of our situation and emotional state while our dog was being treated for a foreign object found in his intestines. We were told by the first vet that we would "at the most" be looking at 5k, but quickly realised the next day we had completely surpassed that estimate and were on to the next. I called three other vet offices not including my cousin who is a vet - all of which said we had over payed by nearly 4 - 5k more than they charge. It's absolutely disgraceful to take advantage of pet owners while in a vulnerable circumstance. We not only sat in the room, waiting for 6hrs the first evening, but almost every single promise that was made regarding timing of surgery, pricing, and ultrasounds were completely misleading and drew on throughout the entire day with little explanation as to why. We were at almost 3k within the first 6hrs of being there. I will not be silent about this experience and the bill we are left with, the way we were mislead on pricing, the details of your veterinarian's treatment schedule, and overall inconsistency of your staff. This is not right and I feel absolutely horrid that I put myself and my family in a position where we felt we had no choice but allow Evolution Vet to take so much from us while in a state of panic. It's a shame other people have also had this happen as well. I wrote those reviews to warn people about my situation in hopes other families don't get taken for a ride while trying to save their pup. It's shameful and people deserve to know what can happen while in a vulnerable state. Update: not only have I posted reviews on google and yelp - I have also taken the time to create a BBB profile for this company and looking for more outlets to let people know that this business should not be trusted. Unreasonable cancellation policy! If you are five minutes late, then the vet can cancel your appointment. Be careful they can also keep your $150 appointment deposit! The disclosure is hidden in orange highlight in fine print somewhere in all the paperwork, which is a terrrible practice not providing their customers reasonable notice of this policy. This is the closest ER suggested by my House call Holistic Vet. I am visiting from out of down and brought my 18 3/4 years old Dachshund for possible corneal abrasion. Fast and polite service. Explanation for all service and fees. Every Veterinary services especially ER is suffering from staff shortages especially with COVID. They are trying to provide the best emergency Pet services under this pandemic situation. Veterinary is also front line worker like human medical services. They are here for our furry family members. The other alternative is to drive miles away to find an urgent pet service. Regular routine office visit to minimize ER visit. I am super impressed with the care I and my dog got. Every service was explained with a price. After initial triage, I was put to N urgent visit instead paying for ER visit. read more

This review is long overdue. We have been to Evolution twice. Once, about a year ago when my dog was sick in the middle of the night. We rushed him in and Dr. Butler treated him. She was kind, thourough and took great care of him. This summer, our dog was attacked by a dog at the dog park. It happened on a Friday and our vet was booked and could not get him in. We took him to Evolution where he saw Dr. Mencseli, who treated him with great care, and was also kind and thourough. The whole staff was amazing, but special shout out to Geoffrey, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. As it is emergency medicine, this was not a cheap visit, but I was pleasantly surprised that the bill came out less than what they originally said it would be. Highly recommend! read more

While you never want an urgent pet situation, having a top-notch facility nearby is always appreciated. I had a pupper guest who managed to thwart my efforts and found chocolate intended for a Christmas gift. While I caught this within moments, the best option is still to see a vet. EVS is approximately 2 miles from my home and for a Saturday morning, it was very easy in and out service with amazingly kind and friendly interactions from everyone. Dr Gallagher took great care in being thorough in treatment options and in explaining everything in detail. I hope not to be back soon but, knowing I have a trustworthy resource so close to home will make that trip less stressful. Also- they have the ability to perform pet blood donations here if you have a pet that could donate blood, this is a wonderful service! read more

We had an unfortunate xylitol-ingestion situation yesterday morning that brought us into Evolution's ER. The whole staff and experience was amazing- they did a great job responding quickly, keeping me informed, and taking care of our pup. He is home now after an overnight stay and doing well, and we are so grateful Evolution was there when we needed them. No emergency vet is inexpensive, but I feel the pricing was fair, and the final bill ended up being lower than the high end of the estimate, which I appreciated. They will definitely be our go-to moving forward for any furry emergencies. read more

This review started off as five stars, as I was recommended to Evolution and my dog was experiencing a pretty severe hacking cough. I called ahead of time, the receptionist was very friendly and said they would be expecting me (said Sunday was a slower day). They took us back to an exam room right away (very clean facility) and told me that I would pay the exam fee (expensive but emergency care can cost more) then they would get vitals and see my dog soon after. That was two hours ago. $175 paid, all they have done so far is take my dog's weight, and I briefly spoke to a tech. No vet so far. In fact I was told 45 minutes ago that I was "next to be seen". No vet came in and I had to call the front desk to get anyone's attention. Lady at front desk checked and said that there was an emergency and vet had to go to them first (isn't mine an emergency?? I paid the "emergency" price). No one ever came back to tell me this. Honestly at this time if I hadn't already paid I just would've left. Even if they had provided me updates I might not have minded waiting. Update: Vet was professional and ended up diagnosing kennel cough and prescribed medication. Still, knowing after the fact this wasn't treated as a emergency, I probably would have held out on going. I would still recommend if you know your dog/cat can't wait at all for a day to see your regular vet. But otherwise avoid the extremely high cost and long wait. read more

I'd love to get them a Zero if I could! I brought my parrot in, The experience first hand was Not the best. They gave us our options.When looking upon Oscar, They dedetermined they couldn't find anything wrong with him. That another bird specialist at thier facility would be better then what this Dr could do. MY husband and I were in the middle of deciding if Seeing our regular vet would be better then coming back to thier location. But they were talking over us, and already deciding to book an appointment with them, After we already expressed our concerns about possible not being able to come back in less then 24 hours. They Still placed the appointment. I then got an email stating, if I had to call and make a cancelation before 48 hours, I will be charged a 100. When I brought the concern up the receptionist She said I'm still going to be charged the 100 if I cancel, I corrected and told her They never gave me 24 hours when scheduling the appointment, she said Then reschedule so you can't get charged. I said Fine Schedule for Wednesday and I'll call and cancel. She hangup on me before I could finish that sentence. I feel they don't care about your animal, They just care about them money coming out of your pocket, And also finding out later on, They charge for your phone call. read more

If you need an emergency vet they are helpful. If you need a regular appointment do NOT waste your time. You pay a deposit of $150.00 only to show up to be told you have no appointment. They are 50 miles from my house. Gas is NOT cheap. My poor rabbit had to deal with an hour long ride in the car. Then sat in her carrier at the vet for 20min while we tried to get them to see her. According to staff none of the individuals that could fix the situation were in that day. We asked if they could refund gas, they said, "absolutely not." With hassle they finally refunded the deposit. The staff seemed annoyed of our presence and could NOT understand why we were upset. Now our poor rabbit has to wait for an appointment somewhere else. Which means another car ride. The day time staff at Evolution is lacking compassion. I am greatly disappointed. read more

This is the first time I took my dog to EVS to meet with Dr Sam Hocker in cardiology. Dr Sam is the best. He is very knowledgeable, informative, and compassionate. You will not find a better doctor for your pet. He was very throurough, and took great time to explain my dogs health condition, and answer my questions. I am also extremely grateful to Kendall, the vet technician. I will always remember her compassion and kindness. She was a great comfort. Thank you Dr. Hocker. Thank you Kendall. My regular vet is out due to Covid. I couldn't get a vet appointment for a week and I was really worried about my kitty. Finally after a long day I decided I couldn't wait for an appointment. It is an ER pet facility and the prices do reflect that it is open 24 hours a day. But they were able to take her right away they must have blood testing facilities on site so I was able to get back results of the blood test and urinalysis. They did recommend that I make another appointment In the future. I felt like the vet kept me up-to-date on everything that was happening during the visit although I was sitting in my car outside. Money is the priority here..... I wanted my dog to have a CT scan and endoscopy as soon as possible for ongoing nasal issues he was having. I called around to get the fastest appointment I could find. Not one place, out of 5, recommended that I contact Evolution Veterinary Specialists. I found them on my own and called. I was elated they could get us in right away. Upon scheduling, I was informed this business charges a 3.5% fee when you pay with a credit card. I paid for the consultation and a parathyroid test with my debit card to avoid that fee (or so I thought). At the consultation, I was presented an estimate for the needed, upcoming procedures at roughly between $3,300 and $4,400. I consented to go ahead and I had no choice but to use my credit card. Evolution demands you pay the low end of the estimate in advance. My card was charged over $3,400 with $115.58 being just the credit card use fee. After the procedure, when I called to let Evolution know I was on my way to pick up my dog, Marilee cheerfully answered the phone asking if I was coming for Bentley before I even said a word. She laughed and told me they have caller ID. I thought at the time, it was a nice touch. At pick up, I was told the entire services I paid for could not be performed and I would be refunded the difference of over $1,000. I inquired if the correct portion of the credit card use fee would also be refunded and I was told "no". I expressed to the front desk staff on my way out, in an empty lobby that I thought their credit card use fee was "crappy". This is the moment where everything changed in so far as the staff being professional. I have tried to contact them and ask for correct, detailed billing be emailed to me, which is something they say they do by default. Each time I have called, I have been immediately placed on hold and several of those times, the hold has timed out and I was disconnected. They have caller ID, remember? I also found on my credit card statement where the parathyroid test that was done at the time of the consultation was charged on the credit card instead of the debit card I purposely chose that day and the 3.5% fee was applied. Finally, when I got a person on the phone, I asked that every cent charged to my card be emailed to me and I asked to be connected to the owner, who I have seen reply to people here in the reviews. I was told I would not be connected to that person. I sent the owner an email on the address posted in other reviews. Here we are into the next week and I have yet to receive another communication from anyone at Evolution, including medical test results I requested. Now, I see why the lobby was so empty, their schedule so free and no other vet would recommend this place. While the veterinarian may be well qualified (thank you, Dr. Mick), the staff is immature and petty. I see where others have described staff as getting "irritated". That is the exact experience I have had. Making life and death decisions for your pet is hard enough when you receive the test results and have follow up. I have had none of that and I still have not received the billing items I have requested. I was not able to escalate my concerns to anyone other than a hostile desk manager who cooperated with nothing I was asking for to this day. The most expensive vet ever! I was out of town and my dog sitter had to take my baby in for her watery and bothersome eye. After a 3 hour wait and an initial $149.00 to walk in the door. It was recommended that we get dye put it for $180.00. We declined as she has had this issue before and she only needed eye drops. They finally prescribed the drops and up marked them from $25.00 regular from the vet to $129.00. Are you kidding? Thought they got their money from the 5 second "exam." Everyone gives 5 stars because they are nice to your pet but wait for the bill. If a simple eye issue is $300 I can only imagine. We are looking into reporting them to the BBB if there is not a resolution on the price and we are waiting back to hear from management. Frustrated paying that much and definitely put a damper in the vacation. This vet is not in the best interest of your pet, only their pocket. GERI, Thank you for the BIO!!
