After finding a lump on my dogs throat, I was told by our vet to bring her to an oncology specialist - they recommended the team at CASE. I was able to get an appointment for the following week (very lucky! - most places had over a month wait). Our first visit was loaded with important information, and Dr. Galloway very graciously and patiently talked me through what was happening, what my options were, and with those options in mind, what was next. Within 24 hours, I had a diagnosis - supplemented with lab work, X-rays, and radiographs - and my pup had a spot on Dr. Prpich's surgery schedule for the following morning. If I had known at the time how much of a bada** surgeon Dr. Prpich is, I would have had the best sleep of my life... she removed a cancerous mass WRAPPED AROUND MY DOGS CAROTID ARTERY, among other things, and called me herself to let me know the surgery was successful. Upon picking up my pup, I received a printed and bound (!!) report concerning a treatment plan and her med schedule. Mesa and I went back for chemo appointments the following 3 months, and the front desk staff and vet techs were nothing short of completely delightful. On her last day of chemo, my pup came home with a bandana and a printed certificate to celebrate her last appointment; it was signed by all the staff, include Dr. Galloway, and yes, I rushed back to the car to have the happiest ugly cry at the thoughtfulness of it all. That is the IMMENSE level of competency you can expect from the oncology department at CASE. I hope you never have to make an oncology appointment for your pet, but if you do, I hope for the sake of you and your pet that you're able to make it here.

The team answered all my questions without making me feel rushed and calmed my nerves the day of the surgery. I have had several concerns post surgery and called so many times to ask even more questions that the staff once again answered and assisted with, with such kindness. Dr. Anderson changed my dogs life by recommending a vet nutritionist without judgment and his life has drastically improved because of her help. I could truly go on and on about this staff and how amazing they are. For every person complaining about new staff or "rude" staff, you tell me that you'd be bright and shiny 24:7 watching sick pets come through. This staff is honest, dedicated and so passionate about the work they do. Thank you SOBO. I am forever grateful to you all!

While we know medicine isn't perfect, the most alarming part of our experience was our interaction with the performing surgeon, Dr. Kay, whose reaction to our bad outcome has been defensiveness, gaslighting, and represents a shocking absence of empathy, compassion, and kindness. We picked him up from his procedure at 3pm and within hours, his scrotal skin was so swollen he was leaking blood from his skin in puddles on our floor. It was so swollen he could no longer sit or lie down (he could not close his legs) and he whined incessantly. He underwent a scrotal ablation and, in the aftermath of watching our dog go through this trauma, Dr. Kay has been insistent that the emergency vet mistreated him, that we were wrong for taking him in for more care, and that his surgical approach has been impeccable without any bad outcomes over a 34 year career (this does not feel statistically possible). There is an accreditation veterinary hospitals can apply for called the American Animal Hospital Association (AHAA) which has rigorous standards for care and certification. We will be seeking out a hospital with this accreditation for all care moving forward and we would urge other folks to do the same when looking for care for their animals.

He is very friendly with both people and dogs but can be energetic. He had been to our previous vet 2-3 times, as well as a specialty vet over some digestive issues. None of these vets had any issues with him and described him as friendly. I volunteered with Training and Behavior for over six years with a local humane society, so know a fair bit about dog behavior. We saw Dr. Stine - and he was very wriggly. I tried to offer to hold him, but they kept pushing me away. He did look back at her several times, but I did not see anything that looked alarming in terms of aggression. They said they wanted to take him the back for vaccines. Personally, I never think it's a good idea to separate a dog from its owner in a brand new environment. But since I knew Cody was good natured, I agreed to it. When he came back, he had orange stuff all over his snout. They said they had muzzled him and given him Cheez Whiz. Having muzzle trained several dogs at local shelter, I know this is not something you do without proper training. It can create a bad experience for the dog, and I was never consulted about muzzling him. I would have said no and done vaccines another day at another vet. Secondly, Cody has a very sensitive stomach and has had several boutss of diarrhea due to food insensitivities. Because of that, I had brought my own treats that I knew would be ok for him. He later had diarrhea due to the Cheez whiz. When I sent an email complaint, the vet said Cody had tried to bite her and she had bruises on her arm. She said this happened when she examined him in the room with me. I have no idea what she's talking about, because I did not see anything like that. To make matters worse, it's clear my dog is now traumatized from the whole experience. I went to give him his topical flea and tick preventative which I've been doing for a year. This time, he actively flinched and looked terrified when my hands went behind his head. I know this is because of how he was muzzled and manhandled at Alpine. Don't go here.

Our nurse was Courtney and she was AMAZING!! Tynkerbell licked her and let her pet her, which she never does. Courtney's kind demeanor and very obvious compassion allowed my anxious, traumatized dog to trust her which means so much to me. Courtney also explained the whole process to me; she understood our situation and took the time and patience with Tynkerbell that she needs. Her friendliness and calmness made me feel assured that my dog was in great hands under their care- which is not something I feel often!! We were treated by Dr. Brandon Reynolds who was also very friendly and informative! He explained everything in great detail, and I felt confident that he would be able to find the right course of treatment for Tynkerbell. I would highly recommend him. Overall, I would recommend this clinic to anybody looking for quality emergency care. The staff was beyond helpful, caring and just wonderful. The clinic was very clean and tidy. There was no wait time, we were put in a room immediately! They made my dog feel comfortable, which is something she rarely feels around strangers and new places. Huge shout-out to Courtney! :) A big thank you also to Dr. Reynolds and the rest of the support staff for being mindful of my dog's special needs and putting me at ease!

The doctor and tech entered the room (with vaccinations already prepared in hand), didn't introduce themselves (had never met the doctor before), immediately started examining my dog, kept calling both dogs "he" when they are both female (which is concerning that you didn't even read our chart). The doctor noticed a lump on one of my dogs and squeezed it to the point of my dog yelping and then never said another word about it. When she did address me, she asked if she could give the vaccinations in the room to which I said "I'd like to have a discussion what vaccinations you'd like to give my dogs before you just assume that's the course of treatment I'd like to do". She explained what the vaccinations she was proposing were and what they were for and I said fine. She injected my dogs and then asked if I had any concerns. When I said no, she left the room. The entire visit took LESS than 10 minutes for 2 dogs. When the tech brought the vaccination certificates into the examine room, I asked "Are my dogs healthy, what was the lump, how are my dogs teeth?" and he said "The doctor noted nothing so they are fine". When I went to check-out, the tech must have said something to the doctor as she came out and said "did you have questions?" and I said "I'd like to understand the health of my dogs" and she went through some stuff and then said that they needed their teeth done and she'd send a quote. Nearly $600 paid for this 10 minute visit and I was on my way home. I received a survey from the clinic, which I answered honestly and wrote the above and asked for a phone call. I did receive one a couple days later and was beyond underwhelmed with the office managers response... basically "thanks for informing us of your experience". She didn't say they planned to change anything, didn't offer a discount on the next service or a partial refund for our poor service this time. The kicker is that they sent me a quote of over $2,200 PER dog to clean their teeth and keep emailing and texting me about it. NO WAY will I let them take a look at my dogs again and I've had to move them to spam. We'll be switching practices immediately.
