I brought my rescue bulldog into VEG on a Saturday evening because my primary vet was closed. We were concerned about an abdominal / intestine blockage. VEG'S sonographer/ X-ray technician gave an "inconclusive" diagnosis after we spent over $750. This was scary and frustrating. We took her home with the hopes whatever it was would just pass. The next morning I recognized something was very wrong with my bulldog and I rushed her to my primary vet and their sonographer immediately identified a baseball-sized blockage in her stomach and intestines. I was imagining the worst and so glad it was asthma related and his heart is healthy. He was examined, received a diagnosis, treatment and medication to take home. I was kept informed during the entire process and Jeter was provided a calm private, stress free environment. Afterwards my primary vet clinic received all the medical information so they'll have it for our follow up care visit. I appreciated the time the doctor took to explain the results of his exams, the radiology report and the recommended treatment. VEG is an open concept hospital - meaning the treatment tables are in an open floor and patients are in the open. My brother took our family dog Chappy to VEG after he had suffered what appeared to be seizures. My brother was helped immediately when he got there at 6pm and they gave our dog anti seizure medications to no avail he wasn't getting better and so we had to make the difficult decision to put Chappy down. This was probably one of the most traumatic experiences I've faced in my life so far, but I think it's important to write this review because the staff were very compassionate and caring for Chappy and they did try their best. Chappy was a senior dog, 13 years old and ofcourse with elderly dogs there's a decline, but it doesn't hurt any less to lose him. The staff were kind and gentle, didn't kick us out and allowed us to spend as much time as we needed with Chappy before and after he was put down. They were reasonable with the pricing for cremation and also worked with us since our budget was tight and this was so unexpected. I'm going to miss Chappy dealer but appreciate VEG for their compassion and allowing him to pass peacefully. read more

My dog Rumi had to have an emergency obstruction surgery here and I can't speak highly enough about the care we received. First of all, you get to stay with your pet through the entire experience, making the traumatic experience so much easier on my anxious dog and myself. They had a room for me to sleep over because I live out of town! All clear. Took Juni to Veterinary Emergency Group with an elevated temp. This is the baby that I worry about the most! She is so sensitive and emotional.. Again - NO WAIT!!! AND - it was my first time being allowed to be with my cat while they get blood drawn and their bladder poked for a urinalysis. We all survived. I played Lo-fi music on my iphone in the private room they put us in the whole time to help ease her anxiety. Poor juni baby. They did a series of tests and there was one poke she hated and I guess they said it could sting a little at the end and she hissed at them. Poor baby! She is feeling better now and back to her playful self! I had never been to an open space ER like this since I got my cats during the pandemic and was never allowed to accompany them. It can be really disturbing to hear other pets in pain so I recommend to try to request a private room if you have a sensitive pet and bring some calming music! They are also connected to VCA so Juni's main vet called us to follow up - they had received her test results and summary! The staff is friendly and understanding. My dog and I had a rough day yesterday. His was rougher than mine. I had to take him to the emergency vet and I've never been impressed with VCA. After some googling I came across VEG. Almost All of the reviews were positive, even ones without a positive outcome. I even searched most recent and the lowest ratings to read them all (skim them all because I was in a hurry). With all of the positivity I saw from people I decided to come here. I've never had such a positive experience. The open concept is new to me, and I LOVE IT. I was able to stay with my doggo during the whole process, which relieved both of our stress. They called it a "fear free environment" and I have to say, I wish more places did things this way. I actually said "you guys all like each other", because I was astounded. Lol. Turns out their model is to be inclusive, and keep a positive vibe going. This place passed the vibe check, for sure! Everyone was knowledgeable and kind. They worked with me on what to order for my dog and what I could afford. I am so grateful. My doggo, Sushi, (see attached photo) is feeling much better! The conservative treatment we went with seems to be helping. After some reflection, I think he got giardia from drinking out of the old bowl of water I left out for the overheating squirrels. My dog is still tired (he was sick all weekend so I don't expect miracles), but he is definitely feeling better. I would like to thank VEG from the bottom of my heart. read more

Rios was sick. The cat was real sick. Google took us to VEG. As we walked in we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff. A quick assessment of symptoms and he was whisked away. We stood by his bedside as they evaluated him for injuries. We were offered a private room where they did a closer inspection. The doctor was kind and the assistants were great and they offered different courses of treatments. They even offered to customize the estimates before decisions were made on the course of action. There was a coffee machine in the main lobby. Delicious. As we were waiting the staff constantly kept the place clean by mopping floors and cleaning cages. It smelled clean and disinfected in the whole facility. I wondered to myself if this was a learning ER as there were at least thirteen people milling about. All in all great service. Rios got treatment, X-Rays and we will be back if necessary. read more

So unprofessional! Staff is chatting and socializing with each other instead of doing their work. The place itself looks like a 'hoarder' business. There are tables and equipment strewn everywhere. it looks like they had just moved in. It was hard to walk my dog through the debris. They made us wait for more than 45 minute with no communication. The vet told us the meds they were going to give our dog, and I told her I gad one of the med for the dog that had been prescribed previously. The vet told me I could use it. But then added the generic version to my invoice and treatment plan anyway. We paid for everything ( $$$$) and then I checked online what this other medication was- and found she had added the same on I had at home. i made them refund me almost $100 for this duplicated medicine. Also had to call twice to get "Discharge instructions ". it was finally emailed to me at 8:00 pm -- We left the clinic before noon! They said that the vet was really busy!! What nonsense is that? Brought my dog Koba in. I was immediately greeted and brought to a room. Every staff member that came in was super kind and caring for my boy. (Blood work, X-rays, fluids). Came back the next day (Koba was wobbling) and Dr. Israel was just as genuine and caring for him. Even went above and beyond texting me the following day to ask how he was doing. Brought our elderly dog Chloe here for a sudden bladder obstruction. After some tests and an exam that indicated a large mass was likely responsible, we made the difficult decision to end her life. Though we knew she was declining, this was unexpected and difficult news. Dr. Kim was kind and clear with our options - we did not feel pressured one way or another but she did offer her opinion as an expert. After our decision to prioritize her comfort, our fur baby was moved to a quiet room with soft lighting, blankets, and treats and I could see this helped her feel calm which helped me as well. The staff we interacted with were all very kind during an extremely difficult and emotional time. They took the time to explain everything slowly and clearly and never rushed us during any part of the process. We had wanted her passing to happen in our home but this situation was about as good as I could have hoped for given the circumstances. I'm thankful for the team here. read more

Horrible customer service after a day and calling around to get my dog proper help. And 3 times calling I get notice within 24 hr I can take my dog for recheck with no new exam fee and takes me 3 times and me to do a complaint to get that information and for an agent to try to safe there company from a bad review to message back saying they don't care about money really shows they still don't even mention how there sorry it took 15-30 min to help the bleeding stop even when I told them my husband with Army Vet PTSD they wouldn't stop bleeding and had my husband ask over and over more than three times and had me call them as I wasn't able to be there. Dripping blood should atleast quick wrap if asked then take your time but they cared on getting me evaluated with quote but still bandage after I asked multiple times. I thought this place was ok. It was easy to get in at 9pm on a weekend night but waited forever. It's an open concept place so you can see all the other patients on the tables and such. There's a lot of employees there in the open room doing everything.... out in the open. My dog just ended up having a bad day of diahhrea... she's only a few lbs so I was worried. I didn't like how pushy they were about giving her fluids and such for an extra few hundred. She was just fine w/o them afterwards. Spent $1k on tests just to find out it was bad diarrhea. I'm posting two stars because I have mixed emotions. I brought my chicken into the ER for puncture wounds. The initial staff was amazing and so sweet. The doctor was very kind. He made it about halfway through the exam and my chicken died. They did clean her up before they returned her body. I was charged almost $200 for an incomplete exam, because my chicken died during the exam. When staff checked us out the staff member was disturbingly cheerful, even knowing we lost a pet. They had many computer problems during checkout, prolonging our time there. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because of the sincere compassion the doctor had. read more

My regular vet office recommended VEG. I don't remember everyone's name who interacted with us but they were all very caring, professional and informative. I won't hesitate to their services again. My dog was quickly going downhill not eating and now coughing hard to the point of gagging. Did he ingest something he shouldn't have or catch a disease was the dilemma? He was taken to a private room in case he was infectious to be treated. He was diagnosed with infectious pneumonia. After diagnostic radiographs and oxygen checks, he was put on IV antibiotics and given an anti-nausea shot to hopefully stimulate his appetite which worked. Sent home on bed rest with oral antibiotics and at home steam procedures with coupage. Next following up with regular vet for follow up radiographs in 2 weeks. So far so good and they treated him without hesitation when an emergency clinic nearest to me declined my request to bring him in because he might be infectious based on my description. What kind of place turns away urgently needed care because they don't want to take precautions and sanitize?...not VEG...they rock! read more

Our pup had a skin abrasion that seemed to be infected and as new pet owners we weren't sure what to do. We called the doc first, then brought him in, and they were AMAZING. We were taken back right away and saw the vet within minutes. They patched him up and sent us out with some antibiotics - overall we were there for less than an hour and they were wonderful with both us and our dog. They were very patient with him during the wound cleaning, allowed us to stay with him the entire time, and let us help out and reassure him during the process. My cat refused to eat for a couple of days and I hadn't seen her go to the litter box either. On a Saturday I decided that I had to take her to get her checked out. None of the regular clinics were open or had any appointments and I felt that this at least needed to be looked at. I think it is absolutely fantastic that they have this service 24/7 for animals if someone's pet gets injured or as in my case that it could ease my mind. I called them first and told them the symptoms for my cat. They sent me a form via sms so I could check in with the most important details. As they didn't make any appointments and everything was walk-ins we arrived 20min later and we barely had to wait more than 10min before a veterinarian came to examínate our cat. After about 5min the vet said that it could be that she swallowed something as we kind of had eluded to on the phone. However as she wasn't sure and our cat was actually still very alert and curious I asked if it made sense to just monitor her and take her in at a later stage when it ACTUALLY became an emergency. She said that she recommended to do a blood test, x-ray and IV and that came out to a whooping $1400.... After I received the potential bill on my phone there was another lady that approached me and asked me if I had any questions...I said absolutely yes...$500 for an X ray, $175 for just the examination, $150 for IV , $200 for blood test and so on... she said that we don't have to do all of it and what do we want to remove?? I felt pressured to do some of the things even though I felt that we could have just taken her home and monitored her for a few more days until Monday when she could go somewhere else. I agreed to everything except for the x ray and a few other things and the bill landed at around $600 for blood test, IV, anti nausea medicine and the original examination fee. The people were very friendly but it have the feeling that it was about getting as much money as possible just because we where worried about our pet. It felt a bit like extortion. But again happy that they could see our cat that fast and I guess I slept a bit better that night...however next time I will not go to that place if it is not absolutely life or death situation. read more
