Princess Lola - Chaweenie dog!

Leslie A. Morton Center has been my go-to for years when finding a new pet. I have adopted many a wonderful companion through them. Their counselors are knowledgable about every animal onsite. But when going through the process, especially if you see a dog or cat that you are interested in on the website, you best get there early!!! It took me several trips in order to find my newest companion. I also had to return a puppy during the selection process. I brought her home for three weeks, but she was extremely mouthy, destructive and very high energy! It broke my heart to take her back. The best thing about visiting the Center is getting to know all the animals. I know in a glance who has been there the longest and who will be adopted first. They currently have a large selection of Pit Bull Terriers, Dobermans, Mixed breed dogs and a lovely bulldog named Trixie. They all need good homes and if my home were large enough, they would all come and live with me! The down side is their first come first serve policy. It can be frustrating to see a dog on the website that you want to visit, then watch them being adopted when you get there to visit them. There are many lovely animals there that need good homes. Show up early, visit with your potential new companion and enjoy the experience!

Hands down the best money I ever spent in my entire life. Son story ex wife stole my dog. So I went looking and lone and behold I found my forever boy and best friend my SOUL DOG he's been beyond words the best and extremely well mannered he was feisty when I first got him and was warned he had bitten his previous owner. Well 3 years later never been bit, he was also deemed "not good with kids" he is my grandsons favorite protector, was also told he wasn't good with other dogs. Flourishes in dog parks and with his Cousin (my daughters dog) So in the end don't always believe what the paperwork says they could be scared due to the environment or their past we can't know because they don't tell us. I don't judge you for your dog don't judge my dog

I went today to hopefully adopt one kitty, happily went home with 2! This facility was clean, comfortable, and staff was amazing! Angel helped through the entire process and made sure the adoption was a good choice and fit! These kitties are a great addition to my home and in just hours, they have acclimated and made this their home! Thank you all for what you do!!

This shelter is amazing We went in looking for a cat. Our person was Makenzie, and she talked us through which cats would and wouldn't be the right fit for us. We have a two year old and wanted to make sure we were adopting a cat that was okay. She found East (who is now named Maki) and brought her to us. It was love at first sight. We knew that within the first 60 seconds, she was ours. Maki has been with us for almost 2 weeks now, and she is the perfect addition to our family. Our two year old loves her, and vice versa. Thank you, Makenzie, and this place for introducing our missing piece

Thank you staff!!! Animals pick you instead of us picking them. Saw this dude with a collar of shame around his head. He had surgery not long ago, thinking possibly post-animal attack, thinking dog maybe? He had dried food all over his body, he wasn't visually esthetic, had a tooth pulled due to it being fractured, he didn't seem to be a ready for a family but the way he looked at me, he had me at Meow. I fell in love in about 5 seconds it took him to climb in my lap and lay down. He picked me. Got him home and that's all that it took for him to find his comfy spots. XOXOXO

But, he really needed a buddy after I lost my lab he would whine every time we would walk by other dogs on our walks. I decided it was time to look for a buddy for Sammy. There are many many wonderful rescues to work with now so searching for Mr. Right #2 should be easy but it becomes very overwhelming. Many rescues don't give much information about the dogs they take in so it could be a mystery as to their personality. It became an overwhelming choice. I decided to focus on a few rescues and of course GRFR was my first choice. I contacted them directed and told them I was looking for a buddy for Sammy. They instantly put me on the top list and any dog I inquired about I got to meet right away since I already adopted from them in the past. After a couple of dog meets, we found our forever friend and buddy for me and Sammy. I could of worked with a number of wonderful rescues but I know that GRFR gets all of their dogs from unfortunate high kill shelters in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska to name a few. Most of these dogs are beyond wonderful and just need a chance in life. Knowing I am helping this cause of saving these wonderful dogs means a ton to me. I now have 2 rescues from GRFR and could not happier, in fact Sammy who is quit the looker even won the calendar contest for 2013. How cool is that? Thank you GRFR for making my home a happy and fun Golden home!!!

Lucky us! We met and fell in love with our beautiful boy and now enjoy puppy antics daily. It is disheartening to read the negative reviews as they are completely opposite of our experience.. we were in daily contact with GRFR volunteers to make certain that the process went smoothly. They have also reached out several times to check in and make sure all was going well. We will adopt again from them as soon as our amazing puppy matures a bit. Thank you to all at GRFR for being so wonderful to work with!

Dear MAMR, On May of…read more2018, I adopted a little puppy named (at the time) Chi Chi Cher from the Moms and Mutts Rescue in Denver, CO. She was only 11 weeks old and full of excitement and life as most puppies are. MAMR did an outstanding job fostering her before I brought her home to be with my husband and I. We have no children. I renamed her, "Annie Oakley" as she was loaded with high energy and always packed a big hug to everyone. She was put through extensive training to become a "Service Dog" for my husband, as he had a massive heart attack and stroke. "Annie" changed our lives for the better, as she loved unconditionally and gave 100 percent of her love to us and many others. I would periodically take her with me to Wal-Mart to keep her maintenance up. She would have made a great greater at Church, as it was instilled in her to go up and love on everyone she saw, especially those in the military. When given a "Q", after meeting someone in service at W-Mart, she would sit and then give the sweetest "salute" over and over again, to thank them for serving. It made their day. There were several times, people would gather around and take video of her saluting and find out later it was on facebook or twitter. Today, "Annie" turns "8" year old and we hope and pray she will be with us for many more years to brighten everyones day with her loving attitude and unconditional love towards everyone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY "ANNIE" You are so very loved and appreciated! Craig & Joy Carpenter Jacksonville, FL C:\Users\Admin\OneDrive\Desktop\Screenshot_20220504-071923_Gallery.jpg
