This organization does such amazing and important work. They are kind, patient and genuinely love these dogs! The adoption process is a little unconventional but it really makes it seem as though it was fate when you meet that special pup. I highly recommend adopting through this rescue and I cannot imagine what we would have done if we didn't meet our special boy!

I signed up at 12:01:11 AM and was already number 3 in line. I am more than happy to donate $5 to get in line early. Many puppy rescues operate out of donations and the goodwill of people. We had a great time showing up early and talking with others before the doors opened. Some people brought their dogs too to see if their new puppy brother or sister would get along. When the doors opened, James guided us through the adoption process. He was loud, boisterous and funny which calmed our nerves as the energy of excitement could be felt. As soon as we picked our puppy, we had 15 minutes to get to know him. Then we went to a room to watch a video. After the video, we filled out paperwork and then off to pick up our puppy. This was an extremely smooth process and we even got a family photo at the end. I would highly recommend puppy rescue over anything else. So many puppies need homes! This is a great place to find your puppy. Browse the site, find a couple puppies you would like to meet and then follow the instructions from there. Just know you're giving a puppy a great home!

I adopted my puppy on 11/3/2018 and have had my dog for a about a year now. I'm so happy my girlfriend and I adopted a puppy . We didn't get the puppy we had looked at on the website be we are still so happy with our dog Oliver . They told us he is a Louisiana leopard dog but I'm pretty sure he is just full on mutt he has crazy behavior so we had to pay for training and now he is nice and tame but still full of a lot of energy . He is also aggressive to other dogs and small animals . we are hoping this goes away with age. If you're adopting a puppy I would recommend getting to the event as early as possible to get your choice pick . Don't expect a full breed all of the dogs are mixed . I did see the mother of the puppies at the event . Someone should really adopt the parents !!

Got a fantastic puppy who was ready to go. They gave us all the things we needed and have supported us. They have helped us through everything and have a vet that calls back on issues at first since we didn't have one. So very happy! Also, if you go, go with an open mind. Our hearts were set on another puppy who got adopted before we got in. We fell in absolute love at first sight with this guy.

Our new puppy we adopted from Colorado Puppy rescue.

CPR is an amazing rescue and deserves all the praise you can see on Google! My family adopted our first dog from them back in 2007 and he was the best dog ever and my best friend. He passed away in 2019 due to old age and cancer so we waited a while to get out next dog. We decided to go back to CPR in 2022 and they have stayed an amazing rescue since we first interacted with them. We got our new pup Rocky and he has been a wild but great dog! CPR provides all records, microchips, and even gives you a bag of puppy food on your first day. Highly recommend them over any rescue since they really do care for the dogs and want them to find their forever families!

We adopted our pup Liah 5 years ago. We love her so much and have had no health issues at all. We decided for the rescue (this is a rescue not a shelter) to donate our spay fee. Just remember you are getting puppies so be ready for a lot of chewing and items being destroyed! It is what it is!!! Especially with larger dogs bigger destruction can happen. But this is a phase that puppies go through. If you are not ready then look at more adult dogs. I only have great things to say about this organization! We got our fur baby and couldn't imagine life without her!!

We rescued our pup this weekend from CPR and we could t be more in love! The process was easy, and I admire the staff for figuring out a way to continue finding good homes for these sweet pups even in the midst of COVID. We signed up Friday night and happily donated, and got randomized pretty far down the list for the zoom call order on Saturday. We sort of thought, "ahhh we're pretty far down the list, don't think we'll find a good fit, maybe next week...." much to our surprise, we still found the SWEETEST girl, and the staff who helped us pick her out were so kind and honest with what to expect with her breed, size, etc. she's a great addition to our home, and we are so thankful for CPR!

Our Otis (right) and his brother were adopted at the same time!

Sign up for the $5 donation to get in line! It was madness when we went. They need to give us more time to get our puppies neutered and get our deposit back. Great website with all of the cuties on there and a great training video with the paperwork. We scored our new baby boy in September and our only complaint is not getting out $$ back for the neutering (which we did but at 6 months). Don't go to a breeder....save a puppy life!

I really appreciated that gesture. They also showed me the closets for both men and women that their clients get to shop. I would highly recommend this organization.

They advertised this program as a program that helps you land the job you want, however it just turned out to be another generic job-readiness program that just puts you in whatever job they have available rather than what career you want and what your background is actually is. With the high-energy entrepreneurial people running the program, you would think they would have stronger career advice to give and be able to help you with a more individualized approach, but unfortunately they do not. The training class was pretty fun and engaging for the most part, and the teacher Cedric was a great speaker. However, what I had an issue with was how a huge percentage of the class was spent training us on warehouse safety and how to use a forklift. I'm sure that's great for people who actually want to work in a warehouse, but for everyone else it's a waste of time (so my recommendation is for them to hold the forklift training during a different time for the people who want it). I know for a fact that I'm never in a million years going to work a blue-collar job. I found it a bit insulting, because they get a lot of people signed up for the program from homeless shelters, rehab clinics, and those previously incarcerated, so it came across like they were talking down to us and assuming warehouse work is the only thing we would be qualified for or willing to do. And from my experience, warehouse jobs are pretty in-demand and they hire pretty much anyone desperate for a job. My feedback for this program would be to stick to their word about helping us land in the career we like, and do a better job meeting everyone where they're at in their career.

Since 1983, The Adoption Exchange (TAE) an Aurora, CO based non-profit organization has connected more than 8,000 adoptive parents and waiting children. During the past eleven years, I have been honored to volunteer locally and nationally with TAE; here are some of the events I've enjoyed the most: - Monopoly Tournament: a fun day of fundraising held in different Las Vegas Strip properties annually. You can buy in to play the classic board game, and raise funds for the local chapter of TAE; it is surprising how competitive this gets! - 'A Day for Wednesday's Child' an annual day-long fund drive (held in Las Vegas at KLAS-TV) to fund Camp To-Belong, a non-profit summer camp which unites siblings separated by Foster Care for a week of bonding and fun. I've answered phones as a volunteer; one can simply phone in and make a pledge. The station provides phone banks, drinks, snacks, and coverage to update the viewers via the Chryon crawl on progress of the NV TAE chapter's largest annual fundraiser. - Fantasy Ball: aptly named, held annually in Denver, CO this is the largest fundraiser on TAE's national calendar; a gala dinner, dancing, raffles, and a wide array of Silent Auction items are featured in this fancy and fabulous for-a-great-cause evening. You can participate by buying tickets, a table, a sponsorship, or by donating items to the Silent Auction. - NV's Annual Golf Classic "Fore" Kids: Held at Silverstone Golf Club, I've served on the planning committee, golfed, and solicited Silent Auction items. This is a great day on the links directly benefiting children in NV. If events aren't your forte, you can make a donation, volunteer in the office, and more! They don't practice changing behaviors they punish their youth and degrade them. They put me on SIA silent independent activity's. I was forced to silent and not interact with my peers. They completely ruined how I socialize because I was on SIA for the entirety of my stay. I was 12,they treated me like a criminal. The food there is putrid. I got food poisoning every week. Whoever runs this place should be behind bars for the mental abuse, and controlling behavior they put so many children through. Denver childrens home got a search warrant on them in the past for they way they treated kids who need their help. My heart goes out to the children and families who have been victimized by this DISGUSTING company.

If you are looking to work here, please read the following review. This place cares about its kids…read morebut does not care about its staff. One only look at how many staff have left in the last 2 months due to multiple issues with upper management. If you want to work with kids in the mental health field go to other place likes Shiloh, Tennyson, Children's Hospital, they at least compensate their staff appropriately instead of hiding behind their lack of respect for their employees. If you are looking for a job where you can work with kids on their treatment and their behavioral issues, then you can do that here. However, only take this job if you are fine with manipulative management, supervisors that are never in the dorm and are willing to lie to management about things that they don't do, and if you are ok with getting in trouble for advocating for what you need to be successful. This is the perfect place for newly graduated undergrads who have no experience. If you have experience, move on, DCH does not want you. They will discount your experience, and not give you any respect for the experience that you bring to the table. If you are fine with being a yes man, then apply to work with this organization but be comfortable with losing apart of yourself. DCH cares about its kids but it does not care about its employees; their lack of paying a livable wage only speaks to how low their respect is for their employees as well is with their high turnover rate for Youth Treatment Counselors shows that they are perfectly fine with not keeping staff long term. Furthermore, upper management (Executive Director, Program Managers, Program Directors, and their Treatment Supervisors) all act with the following information, each semester they know that they will have a brand new crop of undergraduates that will follow them blindly and will not argue, so they act with the idea that they have no reason to keep staff around. This is also evident by how they treat their staff. Staff are not able to disagree without it being seen as unprofessional and "not accepting feedback." Upper management is willing to call employees out on their "unprofessionalism" but do not see their actions as unprofessional. In a meeting with the executive director I was told that if a kid is not writing grievances about me, that I might not be doing my job correctly. In another meeting with the executive director and my supervisor, I was asked to make a list of skills that I wanted to grow in and when I stated that I wanted to grow in my Crisis skills I was told that this meant that I was incompetent to do my job. In regards to my supervisor, asking for her to have more of a presence in the dorm was too much for her to give and at one point she lied to the executive director by saying that she was in the dorm more than any other TS, however 20 seconds to come in the dorm to get water apparently counts as "being in the dorm." Furthermore, Upper management is only keen on protecting themselves and don't care about protecting their YTC's. This is most evident as any comments or issues with upper management are easily twisted to make the YTC look incompetent and that the TS did nothing wrong. Advocating for one's own needs turns on the employee as a way for upper management to force out anyone that will "not accept their feedback." Upper management pushes staff out and does not blink an eye because they show no regard for keeping staff long term. They are fine with being below mediocre on their turnover rate for YTC's.

We adopted our Boston Terrier, Stella, from the Buddy Center in Castle Rock back in Nov 2012 as a 11month old. She is now 13! We got so lucky as someone else was visiting her when we arrived. Back then you could put a wish list if a breed online and would be contacted if one came in to one of the shelters. Not anymore but we loved that feature. We found a stray Boston Terrier puppy a few years ago and took her to DDFL to see if so anyone lost a pet and since she bonded with us and our other Boston overnight, we asked them please please contact us if no one claims her, and a week or two later we were contacted and then had to adopt her. She is now called Beans and is about 4 years old. We sadly had to put down our 11 year old Bassethound a year prior to adopting our Beans, and took him to DDFL. The hardest thing ever to do, and he was my first pet. They were great with us, let us take a lot of time to say goodbyes. I only wish we were allowed back during the euthanasia, I really didn't like just sending him off like that. They do offer you ashes and paw prints after as well which was very nice.
