Whoever Ryan has as clients are truly lucky; between his knowledge base, experience and overall supportive presence, he is a therapist I highly highly recommend.

JT is incredibly kind and well-intentioned, but the therapy felt one-dimensional. Sessions largely focused on validating feelings without providing structure, tools, challenge, or actionable guidance - all of which I repeatedly asked for. Given that this therapy was priced at the higher end of what we've seen, we expected a much deeper level of engagement and clinical depth. I consistently expressed that I did not feel understood, and that concern never felt meaningfully explored. The turning point came when JT continued asking the same questions and implied that I wasn't going deep enough. When I asked him to take a different approach and ask more thoughtful probing questions, he responded by asking me what I thought he should ask instead. That felt backwards. If he is the trained professional, I don't believe it should be my responsibility to determine how we get deeper in session. He also seemed dismissive of modalities like the Gottman Method and Nonviolent Communication, as well as the self-work I was doing independently. Despite repeatedly asking for homework or guidance between sessions, none was provided. We were looking for stronger direction and more skill-based, structured work, which is why we chose to move on. We're very happy with our new therapist, who also practices EFT but brings a broader, more versatile approach rather than relying on a singular method.

As cliché as it sounds, I can honestly say that working with Lindsay changed my life. Who am I…read morekidding? With the tools and insight she provided over our 18 months working together, she's continuing to change my life. I sought out counseling services when life felt unbearably bleak, difficult, and dark. I came in, grasping for control and hoping for a quick fix, which in hindsight is utterly laughable. I think if I knew how much baggage I needed to unpack and how much "inside" work it would take, I never would have begun the process, but with Lindsay's gentle and steadfast guidance, I was slowly but surely able to pull myself out of the weeds. With her help (and a lot of healthy work), I've found my voice and have begun to thrive in a visceral, sustainable and powerful manner- what a gift she has given me! Lindsay is thorough, receptive, non-judgmental, open to talking about therapy within therapy (so meta, I know), insightful, funny, wise, kind, gentle yet straightforward, and very easy to talk to. She questioned and helped me dig when I needed to be pushed and gave me space when she recognized that I needed to come to my own conclusions. The way she approaches counseling is thoughtful and intentional, but never calculated, which is invaluable. Overall, all I can say is this: Lindsay led me through a very challenging period of my life and for that I will forever be grateful. I've been through my fair share of counseling in the past with poor results- I'm so thankful for this positive experience to fall back on as needed. If you're feeling lost, trapped, stuck, like you're drowning...do yourself (and your loved ones!) a solid: go see Lindsay, commit to doing the work, and stick with it, even when it get's hard. People are messy, life is hard, but she's one of the great ones out there.

I have been receiving care through MHCD/WellPower for nearly 20 years, and it is incredibly…read moredisappointing to say that I have now decided to seek care elsewhere. For more than a decade, I was under the care of Dr. Baker, who was an exceptional provider. After Dr. Baker, I was with Hilary Holmes at WellPower for approximately 1.5 years and felt more supported than ever. Unfortunately, she decided to leave WellPower, open her own practice, and did not accept insurance. I was then transferred to Diane States, whom I saw for approximately two years. I only had a handful of appointments with her during that time, as much of my medication management was handled through email. While communication could sometimes be slow, and there were times when I felt my emails had not been fully reviewed, I always got the sense that Diane had an extremely heavy workload and was stretched thin. Despite that, she did her best to help me, and I generally felt that she was trying to support my needs. Unfortunately, after being transferred to Sarah Barnhart at the end of July 2026, the quality of my care has diminished significantly. Since the transfer, I have experienced significant delays in communication, medication management, and care coordination. I have now been without an antidepressant for approximately eight weeks while waiting for coordination with cardiology, and I have not been provided with an adequate plan for managing my treatment in the meantime. I attempted to follow up with Sarah regarding my worsening symptoms, only to be told, "I haven't heard back from your cardiologist, and you still haven't scheduled a follow-up appointment with me." Rather than addressing the fact that I was reaching out because I needed help with my treatment, I felt as though the responsibility was continually being placed back on me to schedule an appointment. I was eventually told that her next available appointment was October 26. I also copied my case manager on my communications regarding these concerns. While I am not fully aware of the scope of her role or what authority she has regarding provider care, she was the person who transferred me to Sarah. Despite being included in my communications and being made aware of the difficulties I was experiencing, I did not receive any attempt from her to intervene, assist with the situation, or help facilitate a resolution. When I attempted to schedule the October 26 appointment, I experienced additional problems simply trying to reach the office. On my first attempt, I was placed on hold for several minutes before the phone system stated that no one was available and disconnected me. When I called back and selected the option to schedule an appointment with my provider, there was simply dead silence on the line. I ultimately had to call another number, where I waited approximately 10 minutes before finally reaching an operator. This is extremely disappointing after nearly 20 years with the organization. What makes this particularly difficult is that I know what good care through WellPower, formerly MHCD, can look like. I experienced it for many years with Dr. Baker and continued to experience it with my subsequent providers. I know the difference between feeling supported by my mental health providers and feeling like I am left to navigate my care on my own. I never expected that after nearly 15 years with MHCD/WellPower, I would ultimately decide that I need to find care somewhere else. But since being transferred to my current provider, my experience has changed dramatically, and I no longer feel confident that my mental health needs are being adequately addressed. I am incredibly grateful to the providers who supported me throughout the majority of my time with WellPower. Unfortunately, my experience under my current provider has left me feeling that I can no longer rely on this organization for the care I need. After nearly 15 years, making the decision to leave is incredibly difficult and disappointing. I genuinely wish my experience with WellPower could have ended differently.
