I took an adult watercolor class for three sessions in December. I signed up for this class because I am familiar with watercolor but I wanted more ideas, tips, and techniques to improve my skills. For the first session, we had a sub for the class and she seemed apprehensive on how to lead the class. The two hours consisted of us essentially having free time to paint and a few basic brush movements. The second class was then led by the main instructor who seemed more confident and taught us basic skills such as painting wet on wet, dry on dry, etc, however this should've been done the first week. Additionally, the supplies we were given were not great, most of the paints we were given were out of certain colors and we were given a small number of papers and had to request for more if needed, which felt unnecessary. After she went over these ideas, she let the class go on Pinterest and choose a painting they'd like to replicate. She would walk around and give positive praise, however, did not offer feedback or various ideas on how to improve the painting. I love the concept and idea of this class, however, I'm disappointed this felt more like a free paint time rather than an instructional class for paying almost $200. read more

My kids cousins loved art garage- so we decided to pair up and go to the same class. So here is the deal - they offer discrete before lunch and after lunch options. So what happened to us was that we could get our oldest into both before and after lunch programs but we couldn't get our youngest in both. Why? Because they sold out some of the afternoon? I think a business like this would schedule full day over 1/2 days.... Of course they were completely inflexible as far as the youngest kid. "You can join waitlist" "And if i don't get in you would allow me to cancel the other?" "No. " Seriously? You would stick me to a camp i couldn't get him home for? Whatever ... Then we were less than impressed with an afternoon teacher. Both my son and cousins referred her as "mean" "What is mean" "Like if you missed a step and asked a question, she would snap "ask another student" I did contact art garage and what I didn't get was so much as an apology just "I'll talk to teacher" and "appreciate your feedback". And even an excuse around the line of "self reliance" No being yelled at by a teacher to talk to ask other students makes people feel belittled and stupider than their classmates. Obviously not qualified to work with kids. This was the only bad camp experience this year. Though they did appreciate my feedback - so I'll assume they will appreciate this review. read more

I took an adult pottery class here a couple years ago, and I really enjoyed the instruction of Kylie Bean. I thought the studio had all the supplies that I needed, and everyone was welcoming when I showed up. I would definitely take a class here again. read more

I had a great time here at a child's birthday party. They let them use the whole area for the party and set up a table with cake and another for crafts. All of the employers were very patient and positive with the guests and the decor was inspiring and unique. It's the perfect medium for a party. read more

Such a great business model. We were recently there for a birthday party and the kids had a blast. They were given great instruction during their craft time and learned so much. The space is plenty big and separated just right for craft vs party/food. Can't wait to go back and try craft workshop for our oldest and will consider having parties there in the future. read more

I take my 21 month old grandson to art lessons here. I cannot sing their praises enough! They are so organized and the children are kept engaged the entire time. Not an easy thing to do. The teacher is so unbelievably good with each and every child. They are each recognized and made to feel special during every class. Each project has been so much fun. I highly recommend! read more

Had our kids 2 & 4 year olds birthday party here for 16 kids (different ages) & it was fun! I wanted a craft/art birthday party and I just googled my options and found this place. Some places only had a 10 kids space or 15, so this place accommodated all of us. Staff were awesome and the kids enjoyed it. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of how great our experience was, from the first phone call to the end of my daughter's birthday party. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind, and there were so many fun touches to the party. The instructors were excellent, and the kids all had a fantastic time. We had our daughter's 5th birthday there, and it was awesome! The one thing I will caution is that this place has a wonderful reputation and families love it, so don't expect many declines when you're considering how many to invite! We invited my daughter's entire class, thinking we'd have at least a few away for MLK weekend. Not the case. The entire class rsvp'd yes, and all but 1 showed up, so our group was 23 kids...over their 20 kid limit. While the art garage staff was amazingly accommodating and understanding of our group size, their space is small. We had quite a few parents stay with their kiddos, which made for a tight squeeze. I would recommend heeding their advice and aiming for 10 - 15 kiddos. Even 20 would have been too tight, and our group was all relatively small 4 and 5 year olds. The art space is nice and open, with plenty of room for 20, but the eating area for food and cake is quite small...perfect for 15 or less. We knew this going in, but just over invited! Anyway, as far as the art instruction, they were fantastic...coming up with a creative mixed media on canvas project that stuck with my daughter's rainbows and pegacorns theme and held all of those little kids' attention for the entire 90 min. Plan on bringing in EVERYTHING you need in terms of food, serving utensils, water pitcher or dispenser, etc etc, because you're on your own in that department (which we wanted). If I were to do it again, I'd have planned on more snacks/food for the adults to get them out of the art room and into the food area. The teacher preferred for parents to stay relatively quiet in the art room so kids could hear her instructions, but without food or something to lure the parents out of that space, they all wanted to stay and watch. Overall, it was absolutely perfect - the staff made my shy birthday girl feel totally comfortable and special, and the kids all left with an awesome piece of original art! I was so excited for my son to have his birthday party here. He LOVES art projects and though it's on the pricey side, I figured, why not, it's his birthday. Overall, I would say the staff was great and did a really good job of making my 6 year old feel special on his big day. We chose a mixed media project, which runs around $12/child. The kids literally painted a piece of canvas black, added glitter, and then cut out a half-moon spaceship from a paper plate and glued it on top. I was really hoping that they would have involved more painting (less glitter) and something that that took a little bit more creativity. Looks like a great place, but the project didn't live up to the hype. read more
