My daughter is very quiet and gets shy on stage, usually showing now emotions or smiles. This time for all three productions she smiled away! Plus they are offered at lots of varying times (9:15, 10:15, 11:15 in the morning for example.) The classes last about an hour and are full of different songs with activities, dancing, instruments, story-time like activities and all the kids really enjoy it. There aren't drop in classes though. You have to register for the sessions, most of which last 10 weeks. For the cost of attending you get the 10 weeks of classes and a free book and I think it probably ends up being around $15/class which seems reasonable to me. Best of all Ms. Tonya is awesome. The first time my daughter walked out of one of Alicia's classes crying I listened to her and passed it off as "maybe my daughter is having an off day". Several classes passed and again, my daughter came out crying. When I addressed the issue with Alicia, her response lacked accountability and compassion. There was no solution offered. She passed the problem off to my daughter and told us that maybe we should find another teacher for her. Passive aggressiveness at its best! Alicia never took the time to acknowledge my presence during pick up time like she did the other parents. I guess what makes me most happy out of all of this is that Alicia didn't KILL my kids desire to want to sew. So many teachers tend to steal the dreams of kids when they chose not to treat everyone equally in class because of their own issues. I'm sure people have had great experiences with Alicia but unfortunately ours was quite the opposite. Thumbs down 100% We will never go back.
