Top notch organization! They seem to find the best of the best in the pups they rescue. Everyone we have contacted or met has been wonderful. Their careful consideration for adopters and through checking is what it takes to truly find forever homes for these wonderful pets. KUDO's PawsCo.

Paz the day of her adoption.

We have been fortunate to have both adopted our dog Elsie and fostered other dogs for Paw&co. This new rescue is compassionate, organized and provide an amazing service to both the animals and communities they serve.

Bambi is a super sweet, QUIET 4 yr old, female Chihuahua. She would love a lap and calm, quiet home to be loved forever!!

We adopted our Boston Terrier, Stella, from the Buddy Center in Castle Rock back in Nov 2012 as a 11month old. She is now 13! We got so lucky as someone else was visiting her when we arrived. Back then you could put a wish list if a breed online and would be contacted if one came in to one of the shelters. Not anymore but we loved that feature. We found a stray Boston Terrier puppy a few years ago and took her to DDFL to see if so anyone lost a pet and since she bonded with us and our other Boston overnight, we asked them please please contact us if no one claims her, and a week or two later we were contacted and then had to adopt her. She is now called Beans and is about 4 years old. We sadly had to put down our 11 year old Bassethound a year prior to adopting our Beans, and took him to DDFL. The hardest thing ever to do, and he was my first pet. They were great with us, let us take a lot of time to say goodbyes. I only wish we were allowed back during the euthanasia, I really didn't like just sending him off like that. They do offer you ashes and paw prints after as well which was very nice.

Their counselors are knowledgable about every animal onsite. But when going through the process, especially if you see a dog or cat that you are interested in on the website, you best get there early!!! It took me several trips in order to find my newest companion. I also had to return a puppy during the selection process. I brought her home for three weeks, but she was extremely mouthy, destructive and very high energy! It broke my heart to take her back. The best thing about visiting the Center is getting to know all the animals. I know in a glance who has been there the longest and who will be adopted first. They currently have a large selection of Pit Bull Terriers, Dobermans, Mixed breed dogs and a lovely bulldog named Trixie. They all need good homes and if my home were large enough, they would all come and live with me! The down side is their first come first serve policy. It can be frustrating to see a dog on the website that you want to visit, then watch them being adopted when you get there to visit them. There are many lovely animals there that need good homes. Show up early, visit with your potential new companion and enjoy the experience!

The process was smooth and staff was friendly. Fast forward to 2024 and we have come back here for vet care due to their support and prices. The previous vet clinic we attended spoke to us like we should know the medical lingo and not the best patience when we had questions. If your family is ready to add some fur love, I'd recommend Maxfund! Other notes: There is plenty of street parking near the shelter and good sidewalks for a before or after appt stroll. Bring your cat in their mobile home and dogs need to be leashed upon entering. Have a PAW-some day!

I saw other cats on the website that had special needs, and felt more calm about her going to that shelter. My friend gave all the vet records and full disclosure about her health issues, too. Well, it turns out that within ONE month, they decided to euthanize her!! As my friend said, if I had known they were going to do that, I would have preferred to either find a different shelter or make other efforts to re-home her. At the very least, if we had decided that "putting her down" was in her best interest, I would have wanted to be present for her last moments.

Initially, I was just looking as I had some logistics to work out but then I met one of their new arrivals from New Mexico. Bourbon and I clicked immediately. I knew in my gut that he wouldn't be there long so I was able to take him home the same day. All of the ladies on staff were so incredibly friendly, kind and very knowledgable. Linda specifically was especially helpful. It's been almost a month and my little guy, now named Finn, is happy, settled in and is loving his new home. Thanks again to the whole group at RMFR. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

We are still caring for the two kittens and love them dearly but we would have loved if they could have been tested better and handled more properly.---- This review was back when we first got our bonded pair of kittens it's been sitting in my drafts forever, I decided to post it now bc it took a lot of money to get the kittens better not just that ALL of my cats better now. I still have the kittens they are better than ever and have the best personalities but I will never be returning to this place just bc of what I said I still have older cats at home and they should have been sure the kittens were healthy before sending them out but they didn't. I don't respect this place at all, They keep sending my mother emails to send in photos of the cats but that will never happen, first off you gave us two unhealthy kitties it's not the cats fault it's yours, be better at managing the cats and getting rid of their sicknesses. I won't be sending you guys any photos because yall don't deserve them first off they are mine now and I take care of them unlike yall did when you had them, they are now in a safe and loving home. They don't practice changing behaviors they punish their youth and degrade them. They put me in what they called "hard rooms" they're isolation rooms. super cold, super unsanitary, empty, and miserable. I was in one of these rooms for weeks at a time. They put me on SIA silent independent activity's. I was forced to silent and not interact with my peers. They completely ruined how I socialize because I was on SIA for the entirety of my stay. I was 12,they treated me like a criminal. The food there is putrid. I got food poisoning every week. Whoever runs this place should be behind bars for the mental abuse, and controlling behavior they put so many children through. Denver childrens home got a search warrant on them in the past for they way they treated kids who need their help. My heart goes out to the children and families who have been victimized by this DISGUSTING company.

If you are looking to work here, please read the following review. This place cares about its kids…read morebut does not care about its staff. One only look at how many staff have left in the last 2 months due to multiple issues with upper management. If you want to work with kids in the mental health field go to other place likes Shiloh, Tennyson, Children's Hospital, they at least compensate their staff appropriately instead of hiding behind their lack of respect for their employees. If you are looking for a job where you can work with kids on their treatment and their behavioral issues, then you can do that here. However, only take this job if you are fine with manipulative management, supervisors that are never in the dorm and are willing to lie to management about things that they don't do, and if you are ok with getting in trouble for advocating for what you need to be successful. This is the perfect place for newly graduated undergrads who have no experience. If you have experience, move on, DCH does not want you. They will discount your experience, and not give you any respect for the experience that you bring to the table. If you are fine with being a yes man, then apply to work with this organization but be comfortable with losing apart of yourself. DCH cares about its kids but it does not care about its employees; their lack of paying a livable wage only speaks to how low their respect is for their employees as well is with their high turnover rate for Youth Treatment Counselors shows that they are perfectly fine with not keeping staff long term. Furthermore, upper management (Executive Director, Program Managers, Program Directors, and their Treatment Supervisors) all act with the following information, each semester they know that they will have a brand new crop of undergraduates that will follow them blindly and will not argue, so they act with the idea that they have no reason to keep staff around. This is also evident by how they treat their staff. Staff are not able to disagree without it being seen as unprofessional and "not accepting feedback." Upper management is willing to call employees out on their "unprofessionalism" but do not see their actions as unprofessional. In a meeting with the executive director I was told that if a kid is not writing grievances about me, that I might not be doing my job correctly. In another meeting with the executive director and my supervisor, I was asked to make a list of skills that I wanted to grow in and when I stated that I wanted to grow in my Crisis skills I was told that this meant that I was incompetent to do my job. In regards to my supervisor, asking for her to have more of a presence in the dorm was too much for her to give and at one point she lied to the executive director by saying that she was in the dorm more than any other TS, however 20 seconds to come in the dorm to get water apparently counts as "being in the dorm." Furthermore, Upper management is only keen on protecting themselves and don't care about protecting their YTC's. This is most evident as any comments or issues with upper management are easily twisted to make the YTC look incompetent and that the TS did nothing wrong. Advocating for one's own needs turns on the employee as a way for upper management to force out anyone that will "not accept their feedback." Upper management pushes staff out and does not blink an eye because they show no regard for keeping staff long term. They are fine with being below mediocre on their turnover rate for YTC's.
