UPDATE: I called to set up an appointment after never receiving a response to the three online forms that I submitted. I was quoted a price $100 more than what was listed on the website for the exact same service and then the person acted as if I was getting a huge favor by having him honor the advertised price. When telling him on my availability I said that I was available all day Monday and a couple of afternoons. Since I said I was available all day, he didn't schedule a specific time and said that I would be fit in. Being available all day does not mean that I want to be stuck in my home all day with no appointment window but I agreed since I was anxious to have the service performed. I stayed home all that day waiting and no one ever came! I've submitted a complaint online and have received no response. I guess their business must be doing so well that they can afford to lose customers :-/ The poor rating is for their failure to respond to an online form that has now been submitted three times. I plan to call and schedule service (or find another vendor), but if a company provides an online form to schedule service, then they should contact customers to schedule service. read more

I inherited the Pest Now quarterly contract from the previous tenants. Two stars are for the techs who are very courteous and the fact that the treatments seem to be working. However, I need to be home to make sure that they are doing their jobs thoroughly, otherwise, they do practically a drive-by treatment, meaning they do the minimum just so that they can get to their next appointment on time. The major problem with Pest Now is the 8-hour tech show-up window (8am - 4pm) that they offer automatically (probably because it is convenient for THEM), although they have an option for a shorter window. A customer who doesn't know about the shorter window option (like me) would never know to ask for it because customer service will not offer it initially. Nevertheless, at the last treatment I received, I was given the 8-4pm window but the tech showed up at 4:10pm!! I could have ran some errands or actually showed up to work that day! I took a vacation day, which went to waste. The reason why they showed up so late is because the schedulers over-scheduled their work day, according to the tech. Pest Now management needs to provide a reasonable schedule for their workers and be able predict treatment timeframes so that they can provide customers a shorter and more accurate window. read more

This company is now called "PestNow". My landlord sent out this company after I told him I was saw two cockroaches. The company gave a reasonable time for for their arrival and called ahead to alert me they were on the way. William from PestNow was very courteous when he arrived. He immediately slipped on cloth shoe coverings over his shoes, which is a relief because I always feel awkward asking people to take off their shoes (Asian house!). He spent some time asking me to describe the cockroach and showed me different pictures to help identify the kind of roach it was. He said different roaches can be treated with different methods. Once we figured that out we proceeded with laying out roach bait and spraying our place in likely areas. I figured I would just leave him alone but he was very helpful and explained in great detail what chemicals were in the bait and spray and how it worked to eliminate roaches. The whole process took about 10 minutes and it happened less than 24 hours after I reported roaches to my landlord. Great service; I would recommend using this company again. I will also note that I live in DC so this company does service homes outside of Maryland. read more

Somehow there wasn't a "zero star" selection. Here's why i'm saying this. I started service with these folks August 2014, and every 3 months they've come to my house, charging $85 for it. Now, except for the first time last August, they've been horrible. From saying they did pest control steps in their notes on your bill/invoice, to responding to emails saying they'd work with me on schedules since they always came at 10am during the WEEK while I'm at WORK, to most recently talking to a "Service Manager" who wouldnt help me unless i "talked to me like a gentleman"...seriously. So this last / latest bit: Guy comes out Saturday 29 Aug, I say to him we're good for spraying inside, and he said ok. LESS THAN 5 MINUTES LATER, i get a notification email saying its complete. yes...less than 5 minutes. First time they came last August it was 5-6x as long (25-30min) for the same service. Only place you could smell it (the spray) was in the back under my deck, everywhere else nothing. I'll copy and paste below from their "invoice" of work done and tell the discrepancies. Lets just reiterate here, their "Service Manager" was all but refusing to talk to me, me being irrate at this point at shady/shotty service they provide/charge for (yes i used some colorful metaphors, but only to get my frustration across) - refusing to talk to me unless i spoke to him "like a gentleman" and "professionally". DUDE!! you're a "Service Manager"...you're SUPPOSED to know how to HANDLE stuff like this (irate customers). Anyway, here's the list: Equipment: Web Buster, Power Sprayer, Bait Station - Um...if they used the first one, how did i still have a 3-6" webs less than 6" from (or ON) my doorframes? - Bait station: wasnt in place until this afternoon. and even then, wasnt where he said he'd put it (i.e. by the AC unit where they said the pests are coming in randomly). Target Pests: Pavement Ants, Earwigs, Mice, Crickets, Centipedes, Spiders, Millipedes, Bees Wasps, Sow Bugs, Rats - Didnt see anything sprayed at all, and there were wasps/bees nests still present under my deck which i had to spray with RAID. (more from the invoice) Notes I installed bait stations on interior/exterior - (my note: see above re: baitstation) I removed cobwebs around entry points - (my 1st note by the "Um" under Equipment) Sealed hole by electic box on exterior and placed station I powersprayed full exterior of home - (yea this was a crock. he, if anything, sprayed something down underneath my deck. nowhere else that me or my girlfriend could see). Technician(s) ADAM GIANNAS - Yea...you were actually named in this review. Hope it finds you and your shoddy work well. 5 minutes of work you did and charged me $85. Makes sense. read more

So I never write reviews unless I have something positive to say, but this is a necessary exception. The tech dispatched to my house let my dogs out of the yard and DIDN'T TELL ME or apologize. They are house pets and my daughter's best friends. I told him I was putting them outside so that he could spray in the house because I didn't want the chemicals to effect them. He said okay, went to his truck to get his stuff, and then opened my back gate without letting me know and began spraying in my yard while my dogs just ran away. All he had to do was tell me (like any normal person would!) that he needed to spray in the yard and I would have let them back in. But instead he just opened my gate where I told him the dogs would be and let them loose. Thankfully they came within eyesight of the house about an hour later and I was able to catch them, but they could have died. My whole neighborhood and animal control were out looking for them since I couldn't leave the house until the treatment was done, and I was home alone with my one year old. Who does something like that?! He didn't even apologize! Never, ever will my husband and I be using this company again. For all the grief and stress this caused me I may as well have kept the damn flies. read more

This is a wonderful company. After trying to self-treat a minor bed bug infestation in my apartment without luck, I sampled a few different companies and went with PestNow. They were extremely responsive, able to quote me a price over the phone and schedule an appointment for the next business day. The service involved three treatments spaced 2 weeks apart, the first being the most intensive. For my studio apartment in DC, this cost a little over $600. After the first treatment, the bed bugs were almost completely eradicated. They did warn that it takes time for the sprays to take effect, and I found one or two within the following week. Since the second spray, I haven't seen any at all. Their customer service is great. Each service technician was prompt, called 15 minutes prior to arrival, arrived within their time window, and were friendly, respectful of my space, and answered all my questions as well as provided some general advice. I recommend PestNow to anyone who is dealing with the unfortunate situation of having bed bugs. read more

I chose PestNow to do a termite prevention treatment on my DC townhouse. It was really easy to schedule an appointment, their techs showed up on time, and their prices were better than competitors. I'm giving them 5 stars for going above and beyond: at the back of my house (where there previously was a termite infestation), the liquid termite treatment didn't stay put under the back staircase because the soil there isn't packed. The liquid just ran out and into the drain. I spoke to my sales guy about it and he had techs come back and put in two stations back there at no additional cost. Kudos! read more

John came out from pest now to remove a nasty wasp hive from my rental house and was awesome. Not only was he the only person to call me back ASAP the next day but he made everything fast, easy, and safe as possible. My tenants said he was in and out and was very knowledgable. seriously five star service. I had icky little brown bugs turned out to be cigarette bugs (got in through dog food) and some ants, they came out and sprayed throughout the house (inside and out) and then came back again a couple weeks later (the second time was free!)...I will definitely be using them in the future!! I was having an issue with an animal either on my roof or above my upper floor ceiling. My normal pest control company did not really have much of a mitigation plan for this problem. I found PestNow thru Angie's List. I contacted them and immediately got a response from Brandon. He scheduled an appointment to have John C visit. This gentleman was excellent and got on my roof, found an opening, did an assessment, and placed a device to allow any animal inside the opening out. He returned a week later to seal the opening. He also returned 3 more times when I contacted PestNow to report I was still hearing the animal on my roof. He even went up on my roof one day as it was raining. Just a dedicated technician who really cares about his customers! He's a superhero! Brandon is excellent too and responded to all my requests without a question. Since then I also have switched from my previous pest control to PestNow. Great company! read more

We have used PestNow for years. They are reasonably priced and considerate of my schedule. We had large bees (seriously the biggest bees I have ever seen) infesting around our deck. They were taken care of quickly and we have not seen them since. We agreed to the complete service because of the bees and now we are spider, ant and mouse free! We live in the woods and spiders were everywhere, but no more. We also would have at least one mouse every year, after having an outside bait station installed, I am very happy to say we are mouse free. Edgar is our technician and he is awesome! Additionally, for the last two summers we have had the yard guard service on our lawn. We have seen a noticeable difference in mosquitos and ticks. We can now sit on our deck in the evening. read more

3 strikes your out.... I am a local realtor in the southern md area and will no longer be using Pest Now. Strike 1. my client had a termite inspection done and they found termites so we agreed to have pest now do the treatment. They came out and claimed to have done the treatment and what did I find was that they didn't drill the concrete around the home and they placed patches around the home as if they had done the work but once the patches where removed it was discovered that they hadn't drill at all. The manager Randy came out and seemed as shady as the people that did the work. Strike 2. separate client was having termite work done and the team of 2 guys showed up at 7:15am to wake them up when the job was set to be done between 9am and 11 am. I do not understand how a job could be done without the sun being up? And when asked why they are here so early they replied they where in the area and was not coming back later. Strike 3. My parents in the Waldorf area use Pest Now as their pest control service the technician arrived to do there service quarterly maintenance service and when asked to come in side he told her" that he was not to do the inside" and proceeded to spray the exterior then leave. After calling the the corp. Office they sent a different technician out to service her interior. This is enough for me to cut ties with this company seems that they are under new management and the work and integrity seems to have dropped off. read more

We are selling our house and PestNow was hired to do the pest inspection. The inspection just happen to occur on one of the rainiest days of the year. We recently had new carpets installed which is quite obvious when you walk in. My daughter observed the technician walk through our house without removing his shoes even though the instructions said to. Regardless, to me it's common sense and courteous to remove your shoes if you are in a house on a rainy day that has new carpet, regardless of the instructions. So either the technician didn't read the instructions, didn't care, or is down right incompetent. Thank goodness what he tracked in was able to be cleaned with a vacuum, otherwise I'd be charging them to have my carpet cleaned. Should I ever have a problem in my new house, I know who NOT to call. read more

With all the competition in this area for pest service, go elsewhere if you're seeking reliability. I booked the quarterly treatments with PestNow which has to be easy money for them...$89 to spray the outside of my house every 3 months after the initial $99 service. The second service was scheduled automatically and I received an email telling me which day the tech would come, noting if I wanted indoor service it could be done as long as someone was home or I could reschedule...seemed convenient enough. Well, I stayed home and no one ever showed up. You'd think Pest Now would make themselves available for an appointment they proactively scheduled. I waited to be contacted because mistakes happen, but no word after a weekend and two more business day. When I responded to the email to ask why no one came, I received no response. I had to call to cancel my service. No apology from the customer service rep who canceled it for me, so I guess they don't need my business, or yours. read more

Thomas came out for annual termite inspection. Was friendly, professional, quick, and great with my dogs. Also let me know about all their services but didn't push any on me, and even recommended that treating for termites every 5 years was enough and that I didn't really need the warranty or to call him before then. Always appreciate when experts aren't sleazy salespeople who try to push services that you don't really need, and when they try to save you money! read more

They do a good job. The guy came out as scheduled. Walked around. Was honest and gave me my options. Said it was likely that I didn't see termites but if I wanted to still get the treatment I could. He gave me the cost break down and I decided it be better safe than sorry. So I got it. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they accidentally gave me the pest treatment too and then charged me. But after I called and said that I didn't want that and instead wanted the termite they apologized and came back out for that. I ended up getting a free pest treatment though so that's a positive. read more

Once again PestNow has proven that they are pests, the worst kind. The kind that keeps coming back! After calling them and much hand wringing, they admitted that that completely botched the job at my house. The only credit I'll give them is that a manager actually came out to my house to see the damage done. After that meeting, I requested a call before they come to our property, that they not just "show up" as I was fearful of more damage. They "just showed up" again, left a receipt, and now I'm more livid than ever. We don't take kindly to people or businesses showing up at our house without notice. To make things worse, we saw the employees on camera looking into the windows of our house!!! WTF!!! This company is the worst, I'm sorry I ever hired them. They are pests. I hired Pest Now to take come to my home quarterly to take care of insects all around my home. They came out and treated. Whatever they use, it worked all the time. I have had no insects in my home since. They are punctual, very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I had Carpenter Bees at one time and they took care of them right away. I have used Pest Now for wood destroying insect inspections as a Realtor. The customer service when ordering are efficient and friendly. I have always been able to schedule an inspection quickly and had a rapid response. One i needed them that very day because I forgot to order an inspection and they accommodated me.
