This restaurant should remove ramen and poke from their menu. My husband ordered a $19 ramen. What arrived was shredded pork and carrots in the wrong broth ( more like chicken noodle soup) with lime accompaniment, on the side! I ordered one of their entree specials - salmon poke for $15 and it came appetizer size.

When visiting Telluride Colorado there is a bar to be set in terms of culinary excursions and Pescado sushi does not even come close to that bar. Starting off our dinner (if you can even call it that) our party of 4 descended into the lime green colored sushi establishment and noticed right away that our menus were missing basic sushi fundamentals such as albacore, starting off our night of bad omens. Many dishes we ordered simply lacked the saltiness and taste of sushi I've experienced before, with the tuna sashimi being served warm dripping in ponzu sauce. Furthermore, the mocha desert is simply a mocha from Trader Joes sliced in half and served on a plate which is why I proceeded to get ice cream from a neighboring restaurant. Overall I expected slightly better from Pescado as it seemed to have a decent Yelp rating however I would say it is sub-par sushi at best!

One of T-Ride's not to be missed! Absolutely my new favorite place. Sushi was off the chart fresh and creative, affordable, super friendly staff, and quaint cozy spot on Main Street.

    That's what I call a Caterpillar Roll!

This place is great, much cheaper than Honga's for sushi and the only place you can get a Baconator Roll! A must have.

My fave is the Dynamite Roll (shrimp tempura, cream cheese topped with jalapeno, sriracha, masago, spicy mayo and eel sauce)...seriously...it's DYN-A-MITE!!!! Always get the edamame...reg or spicy (prefer the spicy but both are good!). Recently ordered the chicken fried rice and it was so delicious! The wine makes us happy because they provide a generous pour for your money unlike many other local restaurants. Bottom line, the food is fresh and incredible...service is always impeccable! But the real 5+ stars about Hiro is all about the owners and staff. They are professional and kind (with a lovely touch of humor) and ALWAYS make you feel like you're an extension of their family. Sometimes hero's don't always wear capes, because the real Hiro's here lie within the strong bond and passion this family has for their restaurant. You know how much I love to support local businesses and this is no exception...Howard and his wife Dewi offer a unique and quintessential restaurant that is much needed in our community. Been meaning to come here for a while and so glad we finally did. We ordered the "I Love Mango" poke bowl, Tonkotsu Ramen, gyoza, and sushi, and every single dish was outstanding. There wasn't a bite left on the table. The poke was incredibly fresh and flavorful, the ramen was rich and comforting, the gyoza were perfectly cooked, and the sushi was excellent. What really made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming, and happy to help, creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Durango has a hidden gem, and Akami deserves every bit of the praise. We'll absolutely be back.

If you're going to charge an extra fee, it should be clearly stated before customers order. Transparency about additional charges before customers order is basic respect and something customers expect! Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. The balance of flavors really stood out, and it was clear that care went into both the taste and the presentation of the food. My order was also prepared in a timely manner. I've eaten at many restaurants in Durango and haven't encountered this kind of undisclosed fee elsewhere. The food was delicious, but hidden fees made for a bad first impression. Overall, I'd give the service a 3/5 for the rudeness , and hidden & undisclosed fee. The meal, flavors, preparation, portion size, and wait time is a 5/5.

The gondola ride and panoramic mountain views are breathtaking and were, without question, the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself didn't live up to the reputation or the price. Our dinner for two, including gratuity, was approximately $325, and we expected the level of food, service, and attention to detail that comes with a premier fine-dining restaurant. The meal started with promise. The lump crab corn soup was creamy and flavorful, but despite its name, there was barely any lump crab. I found myself searching for it throughout the bowl. It was enjoyable, but I expected much more considering the description and the caliber of the restaurant. The hamachi crudo was also underwhelming. While it was beautifully presented, the flavors were forgettable and lacked the freshness and balance we expected. My boyfriend summed it up best when he said he wouldn't even rank it as "okay." Unfortunately, the entrées never reached the "wow" factor that so many reviews led us to expect. My Dayboat Alaskan Halibut was slightly dry, and while the fish was well seasoned, the accompaniments were so tangy that they completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the fish. My boyfriend's Pan Seared Elk Sirloin was cooked beautifully, but the purée served alongside it simply wasn't very good and didn't complement the meat. Neither entrée left us saying, "We'd come back just to order that again," which is exactly the feeling I hope to have after spending over $300 on dinner. Dessert was enjoyable, but it wasn't enough to change our overall impression. My boyfriend's Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake was the better of the two desserts, while my seasonal peach tart was pleasant but not particularly memorable. Like the rest of the meal, both desserts were beautifully presented, but the flavors didn't leave a lasting impression. The service also lacked the attention to detail expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Our server never brushed the crumbs from our table between courses, and although I had clearly noted on our reservation that we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, no one ever acknowledged it with a simple "Happy Birthday." We weren't expecting a complimentary dessert or special treatment, but recognizing a special occasion is a thoughtful touch that many fine-dining restaurants consistently provide. The atmosphere was also disappointing. I understand Telluride embraces a relaxed mountain culture, but guests were dining in flip-flops, which took away from what should have felt like a special-occasion dining experience. Even more concerning, the woman seated next to us was vaping inside the restaurant. It became bothersome enough that I finally got up and politely asked her to stop myself. I was surprised that the staff never noticed or addressed it. Guests should never have to intervene in that situation. Overall, we left feeling that we paid for the incredible location and views more than the food or service. The scenery is unquestionably five stars, but the dining experience simply didn't justify the price. Allred's has a five-star view, but in our experience, the food, service, and overall atmosphere fell well short of the reputation that brought us there.
