The board was presented beautifully with a wonderful combination of cheeses, nuts, fruits, and meats. It went so well with their wines. It opened very recently and not just for the holiday season but to be available 7 days a week to walk up customers on the Mall. The distillery is to the east of downtown and needs a car to access. Not ideal for tourist and locals who frequent downtown, mostly on foot, whether you park in the area garages or use a bus to get here. We had wanted to try their product since I first heard of them several year ago and as my husband is a fan of imported single malts, we thought trying theirs would be a good comparison. He has a significant collection of rotating favorites, some of which I like and some I don't. We tasted several versions today, just doing free sips of several. There were other customers there too, but on a chilly day, not too many strolling around looking for things to do. We were greeted as soon as we came in as the single staff member balanced a series of customers. We were offered, but did not try, the various flights they serve in their little more private, seating area. But it looked like a nice option on a warmer more leisurely day. We tried their flagship American single malt, the port cask cured and the peated option. I also tried their bourbon as I like bourbon quite a bit. We did buy a bottle of their New American Single Malt. We plan to go back in better weather and try some of their other offerings. If you look at Vapor Distillery's website you can get a better view of the breadth of their products. The pricing was competitive for an American version of the imports we often buy.

Wow, this tour has a lot of die-hard Celestial Seasonings fans. As for me, I enjoy factory tours…read more(as a child, I spent a lot of my time watching "How it's made"). Going on the first tour of the day, there was a sizable line of people queuing at the door, which opened right on time. You get checked in, and get a packet of tea as a ticket. Once everyone has been accounted for, you're advised to use the washroom as you can't really leave the tour later to avail yourself of the toilets. The experience starts with a short film regarding the company's history, and then you're off the the factory floor. You have to don some snazzy hairnets as part of health regulations. You can see them mixing the herbs in giant lots, pack the herbs in sachets, and finally wrap them up into packaging. You also get to smell the mint room - where the mints are segregated so their aroma doesn't leech into any of the other herbs. The tour concludes with the gift shop and the all-you-can-drink tea tasting. Delicious!

They did not have honey to sweeten the teas, but they did have sugar and an alternative sugar. They had three cold teas, and four hot teas. We especially liked the cold blueberry tea. They had almost eighty different type of teas to choose from on the menu and I got the iced black tea and a warm jasmine tea, both were delicious. The restrooms were clean and everyone seemed very helpful in the tea tasting area. Like I said, we were not able to do the tour, but we were able to go to the gift shop. It was a good mix of things, like snacks, tea towels and cups and measuring spoons. Everything was really cute but I wish I had more options with their name on it, and the picture of the sleeping time bear. I liked a lot of the mugs, but I wanted one that had the bear and the celestial seasoning's name on it, so I left with a magnet and of course, tea. Overall, I would definitely come back when we are in Boulder next time and recommend it to everyone to go at least once.

They offer wine flights and wine by the glass, as well as a limited food selection like charcuterie boards and bruschettas. We all found the prices reasonable and the pours generous.
