Persian room, Tucson. FANTASTIC! it's beautifully decorated. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food! I'm part middle eastern and it's the best I've EVER eaten. we had the #49 combination platter for 2. chicken, Filet Mignon, beef, rice, roasted tomatoes.. everything. it was so tasty and tender. please please try it. I can't imagine anyone not liking it. read more

Such a unique dining experience. You walk in and it doesn't even feel like you're still in Tucson, the lights are low, and there's columns and a waterfall. It's such a cool aesthetic. Having not had Persian food before, we were grateful for our friendly and knowledgeable waiter. He even brought my husband the can for the beer he ordered so he could see what he was drinking, which was a Persian lager. I had a sip and it was really good. He also showed me how to find what art was hanging if I was curious. Definitely went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. We ended up getting the eggplant and hummus dip with levash and the Persian room special player which included saffron rice, chicken, filet mignon, and koobideh, who was like a meatball that was cooked on a skewer. Everything was so good, the chicken was actually my favorite it was so juicy. Took a baklava home and it was so good! It tasted a little lighter than others I've tried, like phyllo dough was a little different but I loved it. Recommend checking out this place at least once! read more

My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was three years ago when we were last here. I was happy to see that the menu stated "all entree's are Gluten Free" I didn't ask about the possibility of there being wheat flour in the stew gravy. Just didn't order it. My husband asked about the bread and we were told that it is not gluten free. It was busy, with several families with young children. Someone came right over and gave us water and bread with onions, herbs and butter. My husband said the bread was good. Our server arrived shortly and told our drink order. When she returned with our wine, we ordered the Dolmas appetizer. It didn't take long for the appetizer to arrive and we both enjoyed. We hadn't eaten for many hours so we were quite hungry and ready to enjoy eating. Our entree's took a bit longer to arrive. My husband got the Lamb Loin and said it was quite good. It was a generous portion. I didn't get a photo because it disappeared quickly. I got the Chicken Barg Sultani, which was tasty and an extremely generous portion. I ended up bringing half of it home. I wouldn't call the Persian Room a romantic restaurant, as it was quite noisy when we were there. It is more of an old school, upscale decor with a casual feel. Most people were in shorts and t shirts. It was the dinner hour, so perhaps it would be more quiet earlier or later. There are a lot of choices on the menu, a full bar and an eclectic wine list. We have tried a lot of restaurants in the four years we've lived in Tucson. Most of the time I think it would have been better if I'd cooked it myself. Sometimes it's just nice to not have to shop for a variety of ingredients. This was one of those times. We wanted something different, and the experience was enjoyable. read more

Persian Room Fine Dining - Chicken Barg Sultani - Persian/Iranian Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

We have driven by the Persian Room many times and FINALLY got to take Ann there yesterday. WOW! Of all of the dining rooms we have seen in Tucson this is by FAR the most elegant ambiance in all of the Tucson area: massive vaulted ceilings with intricantly painted sky scenes, gorgeous drapery, seemingly marble columns, tiled floors, and deluxe tables, chairs and booths! And that is NOTHING compared to their food! They first provided pita, mint leaves and sliced onion. Ann had their "chicken Barg" with exquisitely tasty basmati rice and vegetables. I had the Lamb Koobideh-A mixture of ground lamb minced onions and seasonings, skewered and broiled. Tender, wonderfully seasoned and one of the most tasty meats I have ever had! Lank, our server, was conservatively attired, quiet and yet very friendly, well informed, and professional. It would make a most elegant wedding reception that the newlyweds would remember for the rest of their lives. It was a little more pricey than we would normally spend for a typical night out, but this was a deferred Mother's Day outing, and the portions were very generous (I just had the second half for a next day dinner)! read more

Made reservations and we were seated immediately. Love the decor with the painted ceilings. The cocktail we wanted from the menu, they informed they didn't have it, so we got the Barberry margarita. It was strong and didn't taste bad. number 33 number 37. The chicken was very good, good flavor and tender. The lamb chops was disappointing, they were dry and a bit tough. read more

I love Mediterranean food and this local restaurant didn't disappoint. It's a large restaurant and dated with a 90s style of tapestries, heavy curtains, and ornate decor. There's a semi-private area with a bar, too. Service was friendly. We started with hummus and it was delicious. It's a bit too pricey at $12.95 for such a small portion, but still delicious. I had their chicken kabob plate and the chicken was both flavorful and perfectly cooked. The rice was delicious, too! Perfectly fluffy and seasoned well. I'll definitely return. read more

They have different other entree and appetizers. Service was very good. No complaint...waitress was very nice and helpful with menu and drinks. Ambience here, it has table with chairs and also they got booth table, they also have outside sitting as well. It's a very nice casual or semi dress place. read more

We loved our lunch here today. My wife and I appreciated the beautiful fountain in the entryway and the formal dining room with tasteful Persian decor. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the veggie skewer entree with Zereshk polo (basmati rice with saffron and barberries). I ordered the Shirazi Salad and the Koobideh skewer. My shirazi salad tasted fresh and invigorating, with much the same ingredients as tabouleh. The koobideh meat was very tasty, the basmati rice had an excellent texture and flavor, and the pita bread that came with the entrees made some great wraps for my food. My wife enjoyed her veggie skewer very much as well. The lunch entrees also included yummy grilled tomato and a small salad which I promptly gobbled up. We ordered baklava for dessert which was very fresh and delicious. We had a very memorable meal here and will be returning again. read more

Just a heads up, this will be a bad review. This place is confusing, it says fine dining, but just charging way more than in customary for the dishes doesn't make it fine dining. In the end it's just poor middle eastern restaurant. There are a lot of middle eastern options in Tucson and all are cheaper and better than this, fine dinning. First, the service was fine and the ambiance is that of an old school Italian place which is fine. The place was empty. Now for the food. They bring you dry lavash with roughly cut raw white onions, cilantro, and some mint, that has seen better days with bottom basement food service butter packets. Apparently you're supposed to smear this 'butter' on the lavash and then put a slice of raw white onion and herbs on it. It's as bad as it sounds. Fine dining. Seriously, chop all that up with some olive oil or some real butter, put some effort into it. Fine dining is about the effort and quality put into the dish not just the high prices. I got what was essentially a steak and chicken skewer. It came with plain rice, dry flavorless chicken, and about 2-3oz of beef sliced thin and laid out to 'look' more substantial. It was all dry except the steak. They did not provide pita, hummus, or labneh, or anything any other middle eastern place would provide, which was sorely needed because everything was dry. Fine dining. My wife has a saucy chicken and a special rice, I don't remember what they called it, but what it was just the same dry rice with fruit and some seasoning mixed in. Not cooked together with care, like you would expect at any middle eastern restaurant or fine dining establishment, just stuff added to already done rice right before serving. She was not pleased. Everything screamed skimpflation, but this is fine dining that is charging a premium so there is no excuse for cutting corners or being cheap with the dishes or effort. Overall this was a very bad experience. read more

I cannot believe I have driven past this unassuming restaurant so many times without stopping until now. Walking in there is a beautiful water feature, dim lighting and beautiful decor. The smell of fresh cooked pita bread wafts throughthe room and is brought to you quickly while you have a chance to puruse the menu. 2 Warnings/Huge Perks of Eating here: 1. Delicious homemade pita bread... try not to fill up on only pita bread. 2. If you order an entree be prepared to bring half home. These are GENEROUS portions. We split a delicious appetizer of Kash O'Bademjan delicious with the pita bread or scooped up with a spoon. The leftovers from this made a delicious lunch the next day. The Koobideh is quite possibly the best thing I have ever had. Flavorful beef with minced onions etc and served with basmati rice. Do yourself a favor and take sips of water between bites or you will eat until you're uncomfortable. TLDR: Why are you still reading?! Go eat at the Persian Room. TONIGHT! read more

This place had an overall great ambience and well designed place felt high end. I've had a fair share of Persian food and I was recommended to come to this spot. The food I would say was good but not over spectacular in my opinion. We got the Persian room special which came with chicken, beef, koobideh, rice and it was decent I enjoyed the beef more than the chicken, I felt it could of had more seasoning and taste and was prob a 7.5/10 overall. The fassenjan i had for first time and that was really good 8/10 and was tasty. The salt drink doogh that I was told was good was honestly not for me, for some reason people enjoy it would give it a 3/10, really just tastes like straight up salt and water. Everything else overall was decent the waiter was okay he could of been more prompt as we had to repeat few times a few things for him to bring some items, but it was busy so gave him a break. Overall nice spot, just my thoughts. read more

We have been dining at Persian Room Scottsdale since 2015 and we have never had a bad experience. Had a planned trip to Tucson and decided to try this location. It is a lot smaller than the original location but the food is consistent. I would have to say though, a bit disappointed with the bread. It was premade and not like the Scottsdale location. Some were very crispy like saltines texture. James was a great server. He made sure to refill our hot water as needed. read more

Wow, wow, wow! I've eaten here twice now and I can't wait until my next visit. First, the ambience. From the outside, you're not really sure what to expect, but once you step inside you're immediately transported to the old world and all of its charm. The fountain in the lobby. The huge red draperies. The chandeliers! It's truly one of a kind. Now, the food. Yes prices are a little on the higher end, but the portions are gigantic and the food is so, so, so delicious. You start with complimentary bread--made in house--which is served with fresh basil, cilantro, and mint and a special type of onion, grown in California, as our server told us. There's also butter. A simple combination of this delicious bread, fresh herbs, and the onion is so yummy! A great way to rev up your appetite. I also love their raspberry iced tea--unsweetened and perfectly made! It the perfect complement to the meal. For entrees, I've gotten the shish kabob both times. The meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. It also comes with a generous serving of rice, a grilled tomato, and onions and peppers. All done perfectly. My husband has gotten one of the chicken dishes and it was so tender and juicy. My mom got the salmon and it too was perfect. My dad got the gyro and that came with sooo much meat. Everything just so yummy and perfect. For dessert we've tried the baklava and the Persian ice cream--both delicious! Service is solid, if just a tad slow, but nothing that hinders the experience. On our most recent visit, our server gave us a lot of good explanations and information. My only gripe with this place has to do with the bill. There's a 3% charge if you use a credit card--seems beneath a "fine dining" establishment, in my opinion. Also there was an automatic 20% tip for "large" parties which here is 5 or more people. Not a deal breaker--I'm fine with a 20% tip--and next time I'll just be sure to bring more cash. Just a heads up! Overall, this place is a major winner and definitely warrants a visit if you haven't already been! read more

Well can I just say that our server was so nice. Just a very calm but attentive demeanor that suited the vibe of the restaurant just right. It is so lovely in there that I wish I would have been a little more dressed up, but nobody made me feel I wasn't. You can certainly be casual, but if you want an excuse to wear something nicer you can! Now to food...oh my goodness. Fesenjan might be my new favorite dish. My husband and I rated our dishes and Fesenjan was #1 for both of us. Ghormeh Sabzi was #2 for me, the Gheimeh #3 (which was still delicious with the eggplant!), my husband put Gheimeh as #2, then the Sabzi. So it's really about taste/preference. But honestly you can't go wrong. I can't wait to go back. read more

This was our first visit to Persian Room in some time, and we won't wait so long to visit again. The food itself is very good, and--as you can see from the photos--the portions are large. We went with two other couples, and we all split our entrees. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance of the dining room is lovely. read more

Great food and great service! Highly recommend to anyone who wants great Persian cuisine. Lots of food for the price you pay as well.

Really like this place. My mom came from the East Coast for a week, and this was her favorite place to eat!

We were met by friendly staff with a good sense of humor, making us feel welcome. The restaurant is big but wasn't very busy so we felt like we were privately dining. Staff was very attentive and although it was the first day working our waitress never got flustered and paid us a lot of attention. My dish was superb, but my wife's was not exactly to her tastes which is why we gave a 4 not a 5. I will most certainly return as it was good food, good atmosphere and the best skewered meat I've had here in Arizona. . read more

We came here for the first time last night for dinner. The decor was maximalist and felt fancy. It really was a vibe, and it was really cool. We were seated promptly and our friendly server brought us delicious lavash that was freshly baked. We also ordered some hummus as an appetizer. They had shakers of sumac on the table, which was a yummy touch. For our entree, we ordered the Persian room sampler that came with filet, chicken tenderloins, and kibbeh. It was also served with perfectly cooked basmati rice and roasted tomatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! We really enjoyed it and we will definitely be back! read more

Can't believe it took us this long to try this place. My husband has been wanting to go here for the longest time and we live up the street. Walking into the restaurant you were instantly transported with the decor, colors, and lighting fixtures. It is a fairly large restaurant with booth and table seating. The service was amazing! We made a reservation just incase cause the parking lot always seems busy when we drive by. Our waitress was attentive and personable. The food was served in a timely manner. We started with the hummus which was delicious! The entrees were huge and I thought they could be easily shared by two but my husband said he could have easily finished it because the meat was seasoned and cooked so well. The rices were so fluffy and flavorful. I had the lamb loin which was perfection at medium rare. My husband had the sultani which was the filet and the koobideh. I was so full but my husband always has room for dessert so we got the baklava with Persian ice cream. I loved the Persian ice cream, not overpowering. I didn't care for the baklava because I like a crispy phyllo and the nuts had a slight bitterness to them in some bites. My husband loved it though. Overall though we loved it and can't wait to come back. read more

My new very favorite restaurant. I went for a quick lunch today (before an appt because I really wanted to try it, but I highly recommend you allow time to enjoy the experience and amazing food). I was greeted by a very friendly man... The service was excellent. I ordered the yogurt and cucumber dip with a glass of wine. I got a chicken kebab lunch special that comes with salad, rice and a tomato. All dishes come with a huge bunch of fresh herbs and onions, fresh, pita and butter. It was a very calming nice environment. I brought my food home and it was absolutely delicious. It had flavor, great seasoning, great care and an abundance of bread and sauce. I very much look forward to going back when I can bring a friend and enjoy a nice long leisurely dinner. read more

This is my second time coming to Persian Room - I was excited to bring my family here after having a great first experience! The service was amazing as always, our server was so nice & attentive so really appreciated him. Food portions are great! I ordered the gyro platter after having it last time and had loved it the first time! Sadly, this second time, I found that the food was not up to the same standard I had tasted which was a bummer for sure. Last time the gyro meat tasted fresh and exquisite, this time the gyro meat was in rounds...looked overly processed and packaged. Not horrible, but not fine dining quality. Everything else was okay, nothing spectacular but okay. The dining room is beautiful and had a great family meal regardless just don't know that I will be back anytime soon. read more

Not really sure how to review this place. It may be good on Tucson standards but not on Atlanta standards. Rice was greasy. Grilled tomatoes were not grilled well and were hard. My lamb chops were good but unevenly cooked. Some well done and some with red blood coming out. Bread at the beginning was kind of thin. They gave you a few herbs and some onion and butter. No radish, my plate was lacking in mint had a few basil leaves and mostly a parsley. No cheese. No walnuts. Trading was fried rice. Maybe it was real, and just seemed fried from all the oily greasy rice. Couldn't even eat my favorite rice with dill and fava beans because it was greasy too. At least there were no belly dancers. read more

I want to give this 2 stars but I'll give it 3 because maybe it's just my own taste buds. I really wasn't a fan of the food but there weren't too many vegetarian options to pick from. However, the staff was friendly and it had a beautiful ambiance so, again, maybe just not for me! read more

Service was extremely negligent due to a planned party plus walk in guests. Our appetizer came 10 minutes before any naan to use with it. Food was terribly unseasoned. We tried 5 different dishes and either the meats had little flavor or the flavors were off. White rice tasted no differently than a seasoned one. Cake was frozen and terribly small for $12.50 a slice. Our bill pushed $50 a person. Not worth it read more

Absolutely fantastic meal in a beautiful setting. Definitely a place I will go back to when I'm in town again. I only happened to find it when looking for a special place to eat on Christmas Eve and was pleasantly surprised. Large portions of expertly prepared rice and chicken dishes, fresh bread and herbs, and excellent service. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu. First time here a week ago. I've never been to a Persian restaurant. I enjoyed my meal, taste great. Not know anything about the cuisine I don't know how to judge it any other way than taste. The place was very clean, staff were great. We went on a Thursday night and I think there were about 6 groups of people enjoying and only one waiter. So service was a little slow but we were in no hurry so it was actually nicer having time to chat with the guest we brought with us. I kinda equate the meal as similar to Greek food but with different spices used. A different taste. Not a restaurant we'd go to very often but we have out of state visitors coming next month and I'm sure we'll take them here. read more

Visited for the first time to celebrate an anniversary and had an incredible experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt truly upscale, making it the perfect quiet and romantic date night option. Food tasted homemade, with large portions. Also one of the only places you can get cherry rice in Tucson. The staff made you feel like royalty, the woman with glasses who was our server was excellent! Loved the pomegranate wine as well. We will definitely be coming back! read more

We live northeast, so going here for dinner is basically same as going to Phoenix for dinner. But we finally made it!! We made a reservation, which I highly recommend for weekends. It's a nice atmosphere with tables close enough so you can see what everyone is eating to help make your decision but far enough so you don't have to worry about people listening to your convos. They bring an appetizer which is very unique - pita, that you butter, then add raw white onion and fresh mint, basil and I think it was cilantro. Seems weird - raw onion? But it works. We also ordered hummus to start which was tasty. The pita is made fresh there and brought warm from the pizza oven (?) in front. For dinner I had lamb shanks which is served with a dill rice with fava beans. Lamb super tender. Amazing sauce and insane amount of rice. Soo good. The husband got the ground beef dish with name I can't remember. Huge portion. His dinner that night, plus dinner next night too. Very flavorful. Our friends got the Persian shared platter. Chicken, the ground beef and filet. I didn't try it but they made all the right yummy noses. Open one on east side so can go more than once every three years! read more
