We have driven by the Persian Room many times and FINALLY got to take Ann there yesterday. WOW! Of…read moreall of the dining rooms we have seen in Tucson this is by FAR the most elegant ambiance in all of the Tucson area: massive vaulted ceilings with intricantly painted sky scenes, gorgeous drapery, seemingly marble columns, tiled floors, and deluxe tables, chairs and booths! And that is NOTHING compared to their food! They first provided pita, mint leaves and sliced onion. Ann had their "chicken Barg" with exquisitely tasty basmati rice and vegetables. I had the Lamb Koobideh-A mixture of ground lamb minced onions and seasonings, skewered and broiled. Tender, wonderfully seasoned and one of the most tasty meats I have ever had! Lank, our server, was conservatively attired, quiet and yet very friendly, well informed, and professional. It would make a most elegant wedding reception that the newlyweds would remember for the rest of their lives. It was a little more pricey than we would normally spend for a typical night out, but this was a deferred Mother's Day outing, and the portions were very generous (I just had the second half for a next day dinner)!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was three years ago when we were last here. I was…read morehappy to see that the menu stated "all entree's are Gluten Free" I didn't ask about the possibility of there being wheat flour in the stew gravy. Just didn't order it. My husband asked about the bread and we were told that it is not gluten free. It was busy, with several families with young children. Someone came right over and gave us water and bread with onions, herbs and butter. My husband said the bread was good. Our server arrived shortly and told our drink order. When she returned with our wine, we ordered the Dolmas appetizer. It didn't take long for the appetizer to arrive and we both enjoyed. We hadn't eaten for many hours so we were quite hungry and ready to enjoy eating. Our entree's took a bit longer to arrive. My husband got the Lamb Loin and said it was quite good. It was a generous portion. I didn't get a photo because it disappeared quickly. I got the Chicken Barg Sultani, which was tasty and an extremely generous portion. I ended up bringing half of it home. I wouldn't call the Persian Room a romantic restaurant, as it was quite noisy when we were there. It is more of an old school, upscale decor with a casual feel. Most people were in shorts and t shirts. It was the dinner hour, so perhaps it would be more quiet earlier or later. There are a lot of choices on the menu, a full bar and an eclectic wine list. We have tried a lot of restaurants in the four years we've lived in Tucson. Most of the time I think it would have been better if I'd cooked it myself. Sometimes it's just nice to not have to shop for a variety of ingredients. This was one of those times. We wanted something different, and the experience was enjoyable.

Slivers of moist seasoned chicken with 2 sides and warm pitas. Again have not veered from the 2 sides either, smoky baba ghanouj and silky smooth hummus over fries or side salad. Hubby is also stuck on his Gyro Deluxe $15.75 with Greek Salad. Has the most balanced dressing, just oily & tart enough but a tad sweet. Asked the owner, Reyna who is a delight btw, that I had met on our 2nd visit what exactly was in it...simply oil & vinegar turns out, the latter being Apple Cider not Red Vinegar..aha, the slight sweet. The menu has the Middle Eastern go-tos that we ordered but read along and discover it leans Jordanian and is quite extensive with family platters and stews. Notably too, their bar stocks several Middle Eastern beers, that we still need to pop. Dining Room is fairly small with a few tables and wall painted murals, and a couple of outdoor tables on the walkway in too. Unassuming location in the back of the strip mall, with ATL Wings and Peter Piper Pizza, across from Park Place Mall. Be sure to nav it here for fantastic Middle Eastern fare and maybe discover some new Jordanian dishes too...I'm working on it haha!

Chef- Food was amazing...whoever does the packaging needs to pay attention. I got salad dressing...but again NO SALAD'. Food was delish though.
