I can't believe we left our dog home alone for this experience. We got there around 6:15pm and immediately questioned every life decision that led us there. The music wasn't "energetic" -- it was painfully loud. Not "lean in and talk louder" loud. I'm talking "yell across the table and still give up" loud. We spent most of dinner making facial expressions at each other because actual conversation was impossible. We ordered a salad and a pizza. The salad showed up after about 20 minutes and was actually great -- which briefly gave us hope. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. At one point we realized we hadn't seen a single plate of food leave the kitchen for what felt like 30 minutes. Just a room full of people shouting over music while staring at their phones. Our pizza finally arrived around the 50-minute mark, looking like it had just finished an oil change. Greasy, heavy, and overall... mediocre. Not offensively bad. Just absolutely not worth the hype, the wait, or the decibel level. We each ate two slices and boxed the rest, mostly out of principle. No one checked on us. We had to flag someone down for water -- only to be told you get it yourself from a small table. Totally fine, but maybe mention that before we sit there wondering if hydration is part of the VIP package. The entire ride home was us sitting in stunned silence, then laughing in disbelief about what we had just experienced. It felt less like dinner and more like an endurance event. Oh my gosh, Perla's Pizza was such a vibe. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and felt like it was something that Winter Park has needed for a very long time. My husband and I went out one evening and the DJ was spinning some funky 70s music, which isn't really our style but when we stepped in and placed our orders and had our pizzas, we didn't feel like we were in Orlando anymore. My wife and I ordered a beer and the server asked for my credit card to " be on file ".. I handed it to him and we ordered meatballs and a salad to start .. We got to the front and when we entered we saw it was a bar/tables vibe, we started at the bar. I ordered a carrot cake martini but subbed it for Casamigos Reposado. It was really tasty, and was a super interesting flavor profile. Sweet, warm, and definitely had some liquor. We also ordered some garlic knots and a pizza. Our garlic knots came out right away and were hot and delicious. We lowkey should've ordered a second order. We were excited for what was going to come next. Unfortunately our pizza got burnt the bartender said so they were making a new one. The music was loud but kind of a little too loud when you have to shout to the person next to you. We decided to go outside and wait for our pizza instead. About 40 minutes later our pizza finally came out. We were so hungry and inhaled it when it got to us. The flavor of the pizza was good and it had a yummy crust but I wish the chicken cutlet pieces were a little bigger. I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience at this location. My friend and I ordered two pizzas, and when the server brought them to our table, half of one pizza slid off onto the table. I understand that accidents happen, and I don't fault him for that. However, he picked the slices up with his bare hands, placed them back onto the plate, didn't acknowledge what happened, and walked away. When we started eating, both pizzas were room temperature, which was disappointing considering each pizza was $20. Ordered UberEats tonight because I like unique pizza, had been wanting to try Perla's, and saw they were offering free garlic knots. I got the chicken parm pizza, which was passable. I thought the marinara sauce on the pizza had good flavor, but otherwise, the pizza was the kind of pizza that makes you say, "Even bad pizza is still pretty good." I was shocked at how little chicken was on the pizza. About one tiny piece per slice. I ordered wings, and the sauce was flavorful but the wings themselves were very small and so overcooked that I wound up pulling off the outsides because they were too hard to eat. I also did not receive the garlic knots.
