It has been a few years since my husband and I tried this place (*think it just opened when we first tried it in 2022). Back then, my husband was not happy, you could not order coffee at the table, you had to go to the other side and get coffee and then bring to to the table if you wanted breakfast. Well, a LOT has changed with this place since then. #1...they will bring you what ever coffee you want to order, and they will pick up from next door and bring it to you (husband was happy about that). #2, they now serve lunch and dinner (*we didn't try that yet, but will be back to try that later). Now, Rebecca our server was so nice! She put up with my husband's "shanigans", as he always tries to joke about with everyone! He was hungry, so got the "Big Ol' Breakfast", which had your eggs, half a ham steak, sausage, bacon (Oh, sooo good) breakfast potatoes (could have been just a little more "crisped up), and pancakes!! He cleaned his plate!! LOL! I had (and did not realize until I read my last review, I had "half" of same I ordered before), the Benedict Sampler (where you can choose TWO of benedicts). I got the "Southwest Steak" (*which is what I had last time..LOL), ohhh soo good! If you like "Spicy"...get this...the green chiles and cilantro-lime sauce make this dish! Then, the other one was the "Golden State" with tomato, bacon and avocado (*and little spice too with Siracha sauce on top), and also had the very good breakfast potatoes! Usually love this place but our experience today was extremely disappointing, especially considering we were celebrating my sister's 30th birthday. The customer service was absolutely horrible from the moment we walked in. There were only two tables in the entire restaurant, so it was not as though the staff was overwhelmed or busy, yet both the host and our waitress were rude and unwelcoming. They acted as though they would rather be anywhere else and made us feel like we were an inconvenience for being there. For a special occasion, we expected at least basic friendliness and hospitality, but the service completely took away from what should have been a fun celebration. The food may have been good but the customer service was enough that we would not return. A restaurant can have great food, but if the staff makes customers feel unwelcome it really impacts the entire experience. read more

I ordered PB Cafe through Uber Eats because it was a little too far for me to drive, but their menu looked SO good and I was really craving a classic breakfast. Unfortunately, I left feeling a little underwhelmed. I ordered the cinnamon French toast, chicken fried steak, biscuits, and a side of gravy. Overall, I thought everything was a bit underseasoned and just didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. I was especially disappointed by the French toast because the name was a little misleading. I was expecting a classic, soft brioche-style French toast, but it was actually made with what tasted more like cinnamon rolls. It ended up being much denser and firmer than I expected, and it just wasn't the texture I look for when I order French toast. I also thought it was a little strange that they didn't include ketchup with the order since that's something I feel like most breakfast places automatically throw in, especially with a delivery order. I know Uber Eats can sometimes affect the overall experience, but I also wasn't impressed with how everything was packaged. I've been to Perky Beans next door for a coffee but never got a chance to stop by PB Cafe. My sister and I stopped in for a bite to eat and the wait was around 35 minutes for the two of us considering it is a popular, smaller sized cafe. It was 100% worth the wait as the food was absolutely delicious! The service was great-- our server Jillian was attentive and friendly. The steak sandwich was flavorful, and the steak was tender. The chimichurri complimented the whole sandwich, while the tomato added a fresh kick. This is definitely my new go to spot for lunch as it's right by my house, well priced, and tasty. read more

Came in hungry, left questioning every other country fried steak I've ever eaten--because this one just ruined the competition. Crispy, tender, smothered in perfection... easily the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt illegal how good it was. We love PB Cafe. We have ordered breakfast and it was excellent. My dining partner ordered fully loaded avocado toast. Tasty and huge portion. I ordered the Bacon Bacon Benedict. Excellent! The cafe is recently open for dinner. My go-to (three times) is their chicken fried steak with a veggie and choice of potato. Being repetive - Excellent! My dining partner loves their Club sandwich. This strikes me as a very ordinary coffee shop. Perky Beans has some great names for coffee, but other than that I don't find this shop standing out from other independent coffee shops. I ordered a Bull Frog coffee; it had white chocolate and mint. It was disappointing. I barely noticed any mint. I also ordered a mocha. It was lovely with a good balance of mocha that wasn't overly sweet or with a heavy texture. I love the way the two-go coffees are sealed with very strong stickers; they held up well on my drive home. Taking one off and on during my drive, the sticker stayed secure. It also had a really cute owl on it. If I'm in the area, I'll certainly pop back in; however, I won't be going out of my way to return. read more

Nothing special about the latte. But Every employee i have talked to in here never has anything nice to say about the owner and his wife. And I've been coming in for a while now since I live close by. I was reluctant to believe that till I witnessed the way they treated their employees. The employees do a great job but the owners and managers don't seem to treat there employees with much respect and have had instances where they are yelling at them with customers around on both sides of the establishment as well as the cafe side seems to get pretty warm inside during the day or at busy times wonder what's up with the A/C or just another way to save money which wouldn't surprise me they way the owners and managers seem and lastly there is only a handful of employees that stay the same the rest seem to constantly be changing wonder why the turnover rate is so high? So my rating has nothing to do with the employees but definitely the managers and owners and how they run the store and treat the employees. read more

My friends and I have been buying coffee at Perky Beans since open and have been having breakfast at PB Cafe since they open. The restaurant reminds me of small town diner dining. The young woman at the coffee counter was super nice when she took our orders and even brought our drinks to the table. When we are all in attendance, we moved over to the cafe side and were immediately seated by Amanda. She was very nice and patient as we like to talk before ordering. The food was delivered quickly from the open kitchen. Real chefs cooking real fresh food. I had the chicken fried streak and home roasted potatoes. Everything had a wonderful taste. Brunch on a weekend around here isn't that easy to obtain. It seems the blooming population has overloaded the volume of brunch capability. The good news is there are several places that have waitlists and there are even some places that take reservations so if you're planning includes a time that's likely to attract a lot of diners. I would suggest that would be the way to decide your destination. We did in fact, use the waitlist Sunday at Perky Beans. It allowed us to see how many parties were in front of us and advised that we would be texted when our table was ready. We waited about a half hour in our vehicle until we were texted and then headed in and we were seated immediately. Junny was our server. She seated us and gave us menus. I ordered a Hazelnut Coffee and a Virgin Mary(bloody Mary without the alcohol). My granddaughter ordered Water. We took a few minutes looking over the menus. There were quite a few options. Lots of tempting items, but it's hard for me to turn down biscuits and gravy since I love homemade biscuits and unfortunately mine don't turn out-2 eggs and home fried potatoes accompanied that. My granddaughter ordered the " sample the Eggs Benedict," which offered her the option of choosing two half Benedicts offered-which is a great way to determine your preference. She also opted for the home fried potatoes. Right about then Junny went and got my Virgin Mary, which they had really done up nicely! It was every bit as pretty as the alcoholic version with a nice crisp celery, stick, and a Gerkin pickle, Green olive and fresh Orange section. It was very tasty. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. It was very busy and I think it's difficult to manage the coffee side of the café along with the dining room side especially on a very busy Sunday. (That is why I deducted one star from our rating.) It did appear that they had adequate service staff, of course we couldn't observe the kitchen area so not sure how many cooks. I have heard about this place for quite a while and finally was able to stop in and enjoy their coffee. I was warmly greeted when I walked in - the place has a warm vibe to it, even with most of the tables full. Placed my latte order and was given a number instead of me waiting to hear my name called. Disappointed by the lack of hospitality here. My party ordered two coffees and bagels with the intention of sitting down for a business meeting with a client. Shortly after finding a seat, we were approached multiple times by staff and told we couldn't sit there because it was reserved for the neighboring cafe. While I understand businesses sharing tight spaces have to manage seating, the way it was handled felt incredibly unwelcoming. We spent good money on food and drinks, only to be forced to pack up and take our client meeting elsewhere. If seating is restricted or shared, it needs to be clearly marked so paying customers aren't embarrassed or disrupted. Won't be bringing clients back here. read more

The waiting list for seats. This place would be more sufficient if it had a better system for their waiting list instead of only having to do it in person. This is not good for a pregnant lady.. first off not only is the wait very very long but their is not much room to sit and wait during the hot temperatures which can leave you to be outside standing around which one time I had to leave due to nearly passing out. Both times me and my fiancé have tried to wait for our 40-50 minutes to get our table but when you are pregnant and there isn't much accommodation for comfort this ends up with a decision of leaving before the table arrives. The service I've watched is slow which means they don't have a system to get people in and out either like most restaurants. We've been wanted to come here for the great food that we saw and read about but we are not going to attempt to come back at all since we can tell it's not worth the wait tbh. Many other great breakfast spots with better wait systems to attend too. I think this place would get better reviews if it had reservations system instead of only going in person. read more

I have been to Perky Beans a few times with my wife and her family since they are from Liberty Hill, and we've always loved going for their lattes. Now that the café side has been open for a while, we finally got to sit down for a full brunch and had to write a review. The fried pickles were the first thing to hit the table and man, they are crunchy, flavorful, and not overly salty like a lot of other places. I went with the good ole classic breakfast with over easy eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. Nothing fancy but sometimes it is the basics done right that hit best, and they nailed it. My father-in-law had the gyro wrap and he demolished it with no hesitation. He loved the flavor and especially the Greek-style sauce inside. The hashbrowns were crunchy and seasoned well and everyone at the table was trying to sneak a bite. My mother-in-law ordered the farmer omelette and I had a couple bites myself just to say I got my veggies in for the day. It was solid, full of flavor, and cooked right. But I will say, the highlight of brunch was their matcha. They didn't even have it on their menu but we simply asked for a Vanilla Matcha Latte with Cold Foam and they said "Yeah, we can do that!" This really should be a 5-star review. But, as customer service is HUGE for me, I must say today's visit missed the mark... at least for one server. First, the place is very well decorated, and the dining tables are close, but not cramped. Kudos to Karly, and Rebecca for helping my server. Not sure if today was an "off" day, but Amanda missed it with me. I won't go into detail, but she definitely dismissed me on a couple of attempts to gain her attention. Again, I will chalk it up to just being on of those days for my server. But, something can definitely be done for identifying when a customer may need some attention. It's hard to review Perky Beans as a coffee shop, as their cafe is combined on this Yelp listing. But my review is for their coffee and my experience with it. I came here to grab coffee with a friend. When I arrived, plenty of seating was available, though I was told that just 10 minutes prior, the place was packed. Only then did I realize that an interior door connected the coffee shop with the cafe, and you could order food from within the coffee shop to eat with your coffee. It's confusing if you ask me. I ordered their black drip coffee and was charged about $3 after tax. I glanced at their bagged coffee beans and noticed their unique PB coffee blend, which combines beans from five countries. As a result, it was difficult for me to taste any flavor notes in the coffee, as none of them were distinct enough. I let my burning hot coffee sit for 10-15 minutes, lid off, to let it cool down. Yet the coffee was still unremarkable, maybe a step above chain store coffee. Overall, I would likely not return here for their coffee again. However, their food looks good, and I might try that if I'm ever in the area. read more

Perky Beans has an interesting set-up, with one storefront being a restaurant that overflows into its coffee shop/cafe. Restaurant patrons are allowed to sit in the cafe part and order off the restaurant menu. I visited PB with my bf for brunch one weekend, and we were both happy with the service and food quality. My only gripe is the lack of coffee sizes. I asked for a small latte, but I guess all the lattes come in one size, in GIANT mugs. My eggs benedict dish however was phenomenal. I ordered the veggie eggs benedict, and it came with the most adorably flat hashbrown rectangle I had ever seen. I will definitely return for that hashbrown rectangle alone, lol! read more

This review is for the weekend lunch. We got there a little after 11 AM and didn't leave till 1 PM because they had so many to go orders which backed up the kitchen. They had every table full and 30 minute wait times and they were putting it to go orders in front of the people that were in room dining. Ownership needs to correct us or they're gonna lose patrons. Hands down the BEST Eggs Benedict I've ever had!!! To clarify, I ordered the Veggie Benedict as I'm a vegetarian. I've never seen a menu item like this before - if I'm lucky and a breakfast place has a vegetarian eggs Benedict option, it's usually Eggs Florentine. This Benedict, however, was better than ANY eggs Florentine I've had either!! Veggie Benedict has the typical eggs Benedict items (poached egg, hollandaise sauce, English muffin), but they added spinach, tomatoes, onions, red peppers and mushrooms. A delightful combination that added a sensational flavor to this popular breakfast dish. The service was also great. A friendly server is always an added bonus that I enjoy, which is what I got while dining here! Tip: The cafe side of this place is on the right, the left side is the coffee shop. Also, the cafe closes at 3pm while the coffee shop stays open until til 8pm. Call them if you have any questions (which is what I did) and someone friendly will be happy to help! I wish I lived closer so I could come eat this delicious menu item more often. But next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be stopping in! BLTA was outstanding for lunch today, the garlic aioli on it really sets it apart. Sweet potato fries with their cinnamon dipping sauce is like a dessert on the plate, addictive even. My wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich that had great flavor. Only thing is that the bun bottom was disintegrating due to the heat and moisture, along with the bun itself being severely undersized for the sandwich. Just moved into the area and I desperately needed to indulge my coffee fix as I adjust to new time zones and I located this place practically around the corner from our new home Today, there was a Leander Chamber mixer in progress and what a great venue to do this at. We were greeted by the owner and other staff and smiles around from all those in attendance. The place screams positive vibes and good flavors as all of their drinks have a theme or special name.
