Chai martini is a must when going here!! During the week when it's not so crowded it's a nice place to visit very quaint and private!!

On a winter Sunday afternoon (it was quiet), we descended on downtown Westerly. We had fancy coffee, Nutty Irishman and Italian coffee, delicious! When we left the bartender gave us a tip - "...do the crawl, start at the Irish place, then....." we loved it and will definitetly put it on the schedule. Great interior decor, nice selection for drinkers and non drinkers. Listen to some live music, sit on the couch, feel the aura of the lighting and unwind. Good location too for the small town of Westerly. The drinks are a little pricey but the atmosphere is top notch for this sleepy town. read more

I couldn't wait to try this place. I love the atmosphere. There are many cute places to sit and chat with friends or hole yourself up in the corner to sit. However, both times I have come, the barista has been angry and rude. The first time we were looking at the hours, 5 mins before it opened, and she basically shoved my husband aside to unlock the door and push through us with no word of apology. Then, when we ordered on our second attempt to try the place, she kept slamming things on the counter and acting annoyed to serve us, even tryong to dismiss us before we could pau. If this is typical of Perks and Corks, they will not be getting our business. read more

I love this establishment, and wish I didn't live so far away because it would be one of my regular haunts. Cozy as can be, fantastic drink menu and though the food menu wasn't terribly extensive, fantastic grub as well. Brian (who owns the joint) is a really great, down-to-earth guy with outstanding customer service skills and an obvious passion for what he does. I also am so pleased to see him supporting live music and hosting a plethora of talented performers seven nights a week. Absolutely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Really cool decor, great ambience, unfortunately terrible coffee. It's Dave's Coffee, so the fault has to be in the brewing. Both cappuccino and latte were so weak as to be barely coffee-flavored. Service was less than enthusiastic. There were only a few people in there at 10:00 on a Saturday morning. May be a great bar (I don't know), but as a cafe, not so much. read more

The food is awesome! The grilled cheese and tomato soup is the perfect lunch combo and cheap! Only downside was we had a horrible waitress, she showed only one emotion which was angry, we asked to place out order and she rolled her eyes at us, the girl with the purple hair who didn't introduce herself to us should be fired. Cozy, Cool and Corky. This establishment serves both alcoholic beverages and coffee! Can't go wrong with that. Equipped with a super-efficient staff, a wide variety of tasty drinks, and dapper decor - everyone should feel at home during their stay at Perks. In the evenings, the music can be unnecessarily loud at times - the only drawback here. Very nice. Contemporary classy. My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. to have a quick drink before carrying on to another restaurant for dinner. There were only a handful or two of other customers there at the time so there was plenty of seating available. The seating options were nice and ranging from open couch/table seating for larger groups in either the main or side room as well as more secluded/more private smaller couch/tables available in the back. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, music wasn't too loud and just right, lighting was ample and cozy as well. Overall the establishment seemed very clean and the bartender was friendly without being overbearing or too talkative, and she made use two incredible martinis to boot! I thoroughly enjoyed an espresso martini made with freshly made espresso. It was made without the creamy Kahlua, which I was not used to but actually liked a lot better (like drinking a black coffee, the way I like it). After talking with the bartender about it, I would definitely order it again, but would go without the lemon rind next time and would instead ask for a splash of a chocolate liqueur, to sort of give it a mocha flavor, dark and bittersweet. My wife had a margarita martini and it was spot on! Just the right levels of sweetness and tart. Not overbearing, strong, but not too strong. It was a simple concoction, but not so sound understating, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. This was our first and only time visiting this establishment, so I can't give a further review, but I think we'll definitely be back again. Being somewhat of a reclusive couple, we tend to prefer atmospheres with plenty of elbow room. Not sure how the atmosphere would be during busier times or happy hour, but we really liked the experience we had. The only con I can think of or reason I couldn't give 5 stars was that there were only 3 options available for snacks or appetizers. I think if they had a bit more available in that area they'd knock it out of the park. Had a great time and would reccommend. read more

I asked the bartender for a Perk and Cork martini, dry-no vermouth. According to Google: If you order a dry martini it means that you'd like less vermouth in your cocktail. A very dry martini would contain little to no vermouth; one might just roll the vermouth in the glass so that a thin film coats it -- nothing more. I was laughed at and corrected by the "bartender" that it means MORE vermouth, she said like I was a silly girl as compared to the middleaged woman who has ordered them all over the world with the same results. Hopefully it made her feel better by belittling me. She than proceeded to screw up our grilled cheese sandwiches, again, off the menu. She took one of them off our bill. We won't be back. read more

Usually come here to have a great time with great drinks. Today the bartender was so rude my friend and I left before even getting drinks or food. He was so rude we thought he was kidding at first but then proceeded to slam a bottle in our face. I am appalled. We are regulars and go here frequently and are extremely disappointed! read more

I'll go for their 'perks' but not their 'corks'. I'm not a big fan of their night scene - a bit too rowdy to appreciate their musical acts, but it's a nice quiet spot in the daytime. A cup of tea is more my cup of tea. At night, it's a happening place for those looking to socialize. My chronically drunk roommate was surprised by the strength of their martinis, so they must be giving a good bang for your buck. read more

Went here because there was no seating at the Malted Barley. So, came here with my daughter to have a drink and bite to eat. Was greeted by the bartender, given a drink menu, then on our own to go up to the bar and order - two drinks and a grilled cheese sandwich. There were about 7 other patrons in the bar and 3 on staff. The drinks were so strong, they were undrinkable. Waited more than 40 minutes, then approached the bar to pay our bill. Was THEN given the sandwich I ordered. Said 'no thank you, I ordered that more than 30 minutes ago." Really? 10 customers with 3 staff and you can't handle a grilled cheese sandwich? Won't be returning..... read more

Worst experience!!! I ordered an Espresso Martini watched the bartender use used coffee groundsPerderá en la chuleta de la piscina to make it. I love the chai martinis here, it's like no other. I'm not sure what chai tea mix they use, but it's great. The bartenders always make my chair martini with 1% milk which i love more than half and half. I think to bring in a little more business, they should have specials during the weeknights for the martinis because they are fairly expensive. i used to go there 4 times a week for at least 1 chai martini. The atmosphere is very casual and there's always someone playing live music which is nice. read more

I am a regular at Perks but today I was not happy with the service. Took 20 minutes for her to take my order. The bartender was working alone and it was not busy. I ordered 2 red sangrias and 2 grilled cheeses. She walked over to the register and whispered to the couple sitting at the bar how she "did not know how to make sangria, but fuck it." When I got the sangria they were not even red and did not taste right. So she proceeded to ring me out and I had to remind her of the 2 grilled cheeses I ordered and her only response was " that's going to take a while". She was slamming bottles around and grunting under her breath every time someone asked for something, like she didn't want to be there. She will not change my opinion of perks but this bartender should not be working alone. read more

We love Perks and Corks. No matter how long it's been since we've been there last, we always get a great big hello from the owner, Brian. He even remembers what we like to order. Makes you feel like your patronage is appreciated. My husband sticks to ordering wine (Brian always gives a generous pour) and I love the martinis. Each one I've tried has been absolutely delicious. We always meet very interesting characters there, no matter what day or time we go. The newly expanded space and new furnishings are beautiful. Somehow, unfairly, the place got a reputation as the "gray bar", meaning only old farts go there, and the cool, hip place to go is the Malted Barley down the block. Not true, not true. You can go there in the middle of the afternoon for a calm respite or at night to hear really great live music. I hope P&C remains part of the Westerly landscape for a long, long time. read more
