I hate big theaters that seat close to 100 people. They have done some renovations. They now have the reclining leather seats and they have a tray for food that swings in front of you and it has a cup holder in it. The recline on the seats is perfect and they are so comfortable. The seats and theater is also very clean. The worker who we bought our tickets and concessions from was also very helpful. She pointed us towards a drink and popcorn combo that ended saving us money and getting us more popcorn and drink! I literally don't want to go to another theater besides this one - not interested! I do not live in the area, but I am more than willing to make the drive to experience this theater again!

Seating can be a challenge because it's an intimate setting with first come, first serve arrangements. The staff is clearly well-versed in getting ticket holders settled in and scoping out extra seats for standby seating. I consider this a small, quaint community theater with an array of unique players/cast members. I went to see Into the Woods and cackled all night at the high energy performance. The acoustics are phenomenal because Red Riding Hoods screams rang in my ears long after she stopped yelling. Granted I sat much closer to center for John Oliver rather than the free tickets for charity at the Alice Cooper concert. Even so they don't have a lot of screens for people far away or at weird angles to see clearly. The ushers were moderately helpful in directing us the appropriate seats. I wish the staff were more attentive at monitoring the audience. The entire time for the Alice Cooper concert we had a very annoying guy standing, whooping and hollering incessantly. Thankfully he wasn't directly in our line of sight but hearing his added noise was not appreciated. He was too far away for us to yell "sit down". As it's located in a casino there are other things you can do afterwards to hang around. The con is you still have to walk through the smoky atmosphere. Aside from that it's a decent venue for live performances if you can snag a closer seat. It doesn't feel too overwhelming like an arena at 4,000 person max capacity.

They really went all out and you can feel the passion in every single performance. The light work was very blinding, that's the only thing I really have to complain about. At certain times the lights would glare at you and literally blind you, so I would try to look at the screen to watch the performance but the lighting for the tv screens were absolutely terrible. You really need to A. invest in better screens or B. make sure before the show goes on that you can actually see the performance on the screens. It was too dark half the time or blurry. if you relied on the screen to watch the show you're shit out of luck.

Unfortunately, they sell them through TicketMaster and after all the fees, you end up paying $36 and change for the ticket. You can buy them at local shops around CT, but I live in Boston. One of the best things about the event is that it's held at Mohegan Sun. Why, you ask? Well, if you need a break from the convention or it's just too crowded you can get a bracelet and step out into the casino and there's plenty to see, eat, or even gamble! I saw soooo many people just sitting on the floor eating food they got at the little concession stand outside the entrance when there are literally 10 other food options if you step out from the convention and walk 5 minutes. I really liked that there were an abundance of comic book vendors. I've been to other conventions (Boston comes to mind) where they are few and far between. Lots of digging to be done and lots of $1 bins to go through. Photo ops and autographs aren't really my thing, but if they are the lineup of celebrity guests was a little...eh. I'm a little surprised to see how many people were waiting for...wait for it...Val Kilmer...in 2019. The other big name was Billy Dee Williams. Eh. Again, photo ops and autographs aren't my thing. Overall, I thought it was a great event and well organized. Will definitely consider coming back next year
