To see the Met opera live in HD on Sat 5/26/25, we set out the afternoon. But they were unable to get any sound. We stayed with it for them to make it work for about an hour. They also never turned off the indoor lights so we were unable to see it properly for the time we were there, so we were pretty sure it was their inability. They must be understaffed too because they make you wait in a line out the door even if you have prepaid tickets. Some convenience (?!) fee you pay to have prepaid tickets. read more

I think it's time for an upgrade.... There's something special about seeing a new movie in the theaters. Call me a movie snob, but maybe I've become too boogie and accustomed to luxury cinemas over the past couple of years.... I mustn't lie, the seating in this cinema is far from comfy, and in fact I have no idea how my small kids even made it through the entire movie!!!!!! On a somewhat dreary cool Sunday we decided to take the kids to see a kids movie that had very limited show times in all of the surrounding luxury cinemas. That's not a complaint or a shot at those cinemas, because it makes total sense to show kids movies earlier in the day. As a result we opted to drive 35 minutes out of the way to Lisbon amc theater. My experience was less than memorable. Here are my pros and cons Pros. Bigger showtime selection. Delicious soda fountain drink selection(just doubtful the machines have ever been cleaned). Sound quality is always better at the movie theater. Cons: Not enough staffing....... resulting in a very confusing entrance, when there is no one working the window. Cleanliness is subpar. Time for a seating upgrade, at the very least. Less food and drink options than a luxury cinemas. Will I return??? Possibly!?? No time soon that's for sure read more

It's a good movie theater. They have a ton of screens and everything in is good condition. They've maintained this theater well. Concessions line can get pretty long as that's also where you purchase tickets if you don't use the AMC app. The staff move as fast as they can and are always welcoming and polite read more

Unfortunately I have to give this theater only two stars for cleanliness and comfortably. The people are always friendly enough and the prices aren't horrible (cheaper when you buy online), but the place was pretty gross. Seats were duct taped and grime covered the back of them. I felt dirty just sitting there, worse after I looked at the photos. I think overall this place needs a deep clean and new seats. I may visit again just for the convenience and how close it is to my house but taking the extra drive to visit some where else that is cleaner and more comfortable might end up being my first choice. read more

This place is dirty and disgusting. The theaters smell like mildew. There's stains on the seats that look like a combination of mold and food I hadn't been back to this movie theater since before the pandemic in my opinion of it then was that it was dirty and I considered it my last option when going to see a movie even though it's the closest theater to my home, I thought that things may have improved since Covid 19 Assuming during that time that the theater was shut down, they use it to clean the theater. That assumption was wrong. I went to the movies yesterday August 19, 2023 in the experience was exactly as described as above with the added bonus of a vomit, smell in theater five were I watch the movie, I'm in the movie, theaters and bigger cities, with more traffic that somehow managed to be cleaner than this theater. I believe the theater itself is fine, but the upkeep needs some serious help. My date paid over $20 for the reserved motion seat experience for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," and I was greeted with about 1 cup of popcorn on my seat and another few cups of popcorn on the floor. I didn't even really want to sit, figuring my jeans would be all greasy from the butter, but I really didn't have any options. Glad that I carry napkins in my purse to help soak up all the butter grease. read more

Ok I know this is a 9-year-old doing a Yelp review but I want to say a couple things about AMC. Their popcorn is good and buttery and the orange soda is fizzy and sweet and the seats are soft and comfy and I had a good time on my field trip here and it had good quality well we didn't get the snacks and drinks until we entered the actual theater the previews suck I mean why is there previews why couldn't the movie play when we walk in the theater and it is a good place to catch a film and we did not have to get the tickets it was free for us but tickets for other people because it was a summer camp trip and kudos to this Movieplix read more

This theater has changed a lot over the years and not for the better. We went to see a 3D movie. First they don't butter your popcorn for you anymore I guess. Which was odd but whatever, no big deal. The staff forgot to give us and literally everyone else in the movie our 3D glasses. Also the projection of the movie was not level and raised up about 2 feet. So no one had heads. I like this movie theatre very much. It defies the cookie cutter theatres that make it hard to distinguish one from the other. Some reviewers have noted that the facility is old and run down. I am assuming that there must have been some major renovations recently because I just don't see that. The refreshment area is in the middle of a large area. The smell, and sound, of fresh popped popcorn fills the air. As a popcorn aficionado, this is important to me. Too many times, at other theatres, you get stale, chewy popcorn that has clearly been sitting in the display case for at least 24 hours. If I'm going to pay $6 or more, I'd better be getting fresh popcorn! The other nice touch is the row of shiny, brand new, beverage machines. When you buy a cold drink you are given the cup and then proceed to the new-fangled machines. There, you use the touch screen to select the flavor of your choice, then the machine mixes the flavored to create your drink. Very cool. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful. There are one set of large bathrooms centrally located, and several (6?) single-person restrooms located throughout the facility. The theatres are large, and the seating is comfortable and appears to be relatively new. Seating is stadium type. The digital projectors and surround sound are excellent. Price is standard for any movie theatre- but on Tuesdays they have discount pricing- $5 tickets and discounted snacks. A good deal! If you're looking to see a movie and want a slightly different experience, the Digiplex Lisbon theatre is the place to go! read more

Popcorn everywhere, understaffed on a big opening weekend. Really disappointed when I saw this theater had not been updated, as that was the reason I chose an AMC theater. Stadium seating was fine but the old chairs were really uncomfortable (like flying cross-country on a budget airline). Super cheap tickets, popcorn ect on Tuesday nights. They have a yearly popcorn bucket that you pay about $11 for and can bring back every time you visit and pay about $5 for refilling all year! That's a great deal seeing as a large popcorn is $8 and the buckets are huge! The lobby is nice and updated with the newself serve coke machines. My one complaint is the movie theaters smell like feet. After AMC took over the this theatre and has made a lot of changes except the seats and theaters themselves. Hopefully there are plans to update the theaters soon or atleast shampoo the carpets and seats. read more

This theater looks and feels brand new. It is extremely clean and well kept. The concessions are pricer than normal but the selection is decent. $6 Chicago UNO pepperoni pizza. $6.25 large drink. They also have nachos, hot dogs, white castle burgers, pretzels, and cheese pizzas. Also the usual candy and popcorn. The pizza was served right out of the oven. There are several video games available in the lobby if you have to wait. They also have MDX seating which you can book online and reserve your seat. It's a seat that moves with the action of the movie. I asked someone who worked at the theater how it was and she said for some movies "Fast 5, immortals" it was awesome. Really it depends on the movie action she said. It's an extra $8 per seat. The regular seats are nice and comfortable. The stadium seating is nice, the sound system is impressive as hell and must be very new, and the screens are very large like almost imax large. I will definitely make the drive back to this theater. read more

Lisbon Digiplex, now owned by Carmike Cinemas, is located in the Super Walmart plaza in Lisbon, near Jewett City/Griswold. This is the closest (and largest) movie theatre in the Norwich area. Although it's been there for as long as I can remember (10+ years), it's plot is next to the newly constructed Dick's Sporting Goods. The theatre is within minutes of I-395 and route 12, both of which are major traffic ways. You can tell the theatre is old... but I can't tell you any theatre that's decently new (like, built within the last 25 years) within the eastern CT area. As such, expect a sorta-kinda-pretty-much-run-down movie theatre that is desperately maintained by the management and staff. There's only so much they can upkeep! Moreover, the bathrooms are always... subpar and sorta kinda clean. The concession stand, like every theatre in the world, is overpriced. I'm sure people galavant over to the 24 hour Walmart and buy the $1 boxed candies. Hey, at least the popcorn at Lisbon Digiplex is decent (the times my H and I are there!). Most recently, H and I (who are childless normally, but decided to parade around our nieces and nephews) navigated and cared for eight kids ranging from 2-10 efficiently... Wow! I was surprised we were able to fit the ten of us comfortably in a row (we never had to do it before, haha). Another nice surprise, that I probably forgot, was that the armrests slide up to offer patrons the option of cuddling. My niece took full advantage of that! Our nephew did the same with my H on the ooooooother side. The nearest theatre is in Waterford, and if you go further north, there's a decent one in Colchester. Otherwise, Lisbon Landing isn't so bad. read more

I love the stadium seating, the sound is great and the seats are comfortable and the arm rest movable. The theater was clean and my shoes didn't stick to the floor, so yay. This theater is below average IMO. It is regularly too cold. Also for some reason the audience talks throughout the movies, maybe not the theaters fault, but just adding. I've been to a movie recently, where it didn't start on time. 20 minutes went by and no one came in to give an update, no commercials no trailers nothing was playing. Then when it finally started the sound was blaring. I asked several people, at least three, to resolve it and they didn't. So I got a refund and went to Waterford. IMO go to Waterford or Millbury MA. read more

Always clean and very, very well maintained. Bathrooms are always clean and after each movie showing a small group of employees with brooms, dustpans and cleaning supplies are standing by to go to work once the last theater goer leaves the room. The seats recline at a comfortable angle but not enough to be a discomfort to the person behind you and the design is the Roman Ampitheater type where they gradually rise, affording terrific viewing. Now if you can just get the occasional nitwit to shut off their cell phone after being prompted by the 'shut off your phone' shorts on screen it would be perfect. read more

As I call it, "Lisbon Landing Cinemas" has improved itself over the years. The gradual stadium seating is great because, if you get there early enough, you can sit in the middle of the screen, horizontal and vertical. The screen is large and clear, and the temperature is well controlled. The chairs all have cup holders, and the backs are set on springs so that you can recline to your satisfaction. The refreshment prices are exorbitant, but what movie theater has normal prices? Fortunately you can now get, for your $6.00 small fountain drink, that awesome, self-service Coke machine where you can pick your beverage, flavor, mix, ice, no ice, diet, non-diet, did I say, "mix"? The staff is really rude,, the theaters are not clean and the chairs smell disgusting when you sit in them. I am highly disappointed.

I have never been to this movie theater. My friend and I went last night to see Snow White and the Huntsman. We will not be returning. Here is why. Apparently they have special seats in the theater that you can pay extra for. We were not aware of this (no one bothered to tell us when we bought our tickets) and sat there. As soon as the previews started, a rude employee came up to us and basically yelled at us for sitting in the seats. I mentioned to him that it was our first time at the theater and we didn't know, but he continued to mouth off and be rude. I was so disgusted with his attitude, I nearly got up and left to ask for my money back. The theater was pretty dead for a Saturday night, but now I know why. Go to another theater nearby if you can. read more

Clean, spacious, and comfortable. What more can you ask for considering the next nearest theater is 25 minutes away? Unfortunately, once the movie begins you realize there's a lot more to ask for. First, when this theater first opened it was run by a different company (O'Neil Cinemas). I had stopped going there for a few years after going to three consecutive movies with projection problems. One was terribly out of focus, the second had the sound cutting in and out, and the third was so far off center that part of the projection was on the left wall. Complaints went nowhere, nothing was ever fixed, and the staff always had an attitude. After a few years, I returned and things had gotten better. Once again I started bringing the family here on a regular basis. Since Digiplex took over, however, things seem to have gone downhill again. I have seen three movies here, all on different screens, and all were drastically underlit. You know how dark #D movies can look when you get those awful glasses on? These were even worse and in Glasses free 2D! The sound on the last two (action movies) were turned way down, too. Quiet enough that my wife and I agreed that it became difficult to hear dialog over people eating popcorn over 10 feet away. It may be close and clean, but I'm not going to pay $30+ for a family of four to go to such a poor performing theater anymore. Theater owners are constantly complaining about how short DVD and VoD turnaround are cutting into their profits... I can see why. Nothing can compare to the big screen experience, but you have to be able to see and hear it. read more

This theater is the black eye of the Cinema Industry. I had bought tickets online on Fandango, but they would not let me in. I had never experienced this at any other theater I have been to previously. I always buy tickets online, and when you show up to the theater and hand your ticket over, they are supposed to let you in, regardless. Now I can see why you wouldn't let someone in if they looked suspicious or being a nuisance, but I was on a double date looking forward to a movie I had been looking forward to for sometime. I ended up being refunded and put into a different movie. Rude staff, uncomfortable seating, and overall not kept up to high standards. I will not be visiting this movie theater ever again. read more

In general, we love this cinema. It is always clean, good choice of movies, and the $5 movie night on Tuesday is a great deal. Nice quality picture, good sound. I had one minor issue one night, and it is the only reason why this is down a star. (would have given 4.5 stars if I could). Usually the staff are efficient and friendly. A few weeks ago, we encountered one that was not. We were slightly early for a movie, and were informed by the girl checking tickets that the previous movie was running late and had not let out yet. Fine, no problem. We solved this by getting in line for snacks, which took some time, seeing as it was a busy night. We then returned to ask the girl if it was okay to go in yet. A young man (maybe early 20s) was there, and when we asked, snapped, "Well, what time does your ticket say?" He was wearing the movie employee "outfit/uniform" but no name tag, so we were confused as to whether or not he was on a break or actually working. The girl stood by and seemed just as shocked as we were. We told him we had been informed the previous movie was running late, and we wanted to make sure it was okay to go in. He said, "I don't know, you should know what time your movie starts." We were shocked by his attitude and rudeness. My husband told him that sometimes they needed to clean for a few minutes before they let people in, and he snapped, "Then show up earlier!" (made no sense given the context, but whatever). I don't know if this guy thought he was funny or what, but he wasn't. The tone and facial expression were WAY too hostile for a joke, and I was two seconds away from asking for a manager. As someone who has worked in customer service myself, I'm definitely not one of "those people" who runs to a manager at every perceived slight, but his attitude really crossed a line for me. I'm really surprised the girl standing there watching never said a single thing. read more

I am not a big time movie goer like I use to and now I have been reminded why. Over $24 dollars for two adult matinee tickets, seriously??? Then to be a captive audience for the first 30+ minutes with commercials that you see on TV already. Come on... What happen to the days of reasonably price tickets, a couple of preview movies and then on to the show?? I have been again reminded why I wait for the movies to be on demand. They want more business they need to focus on lower their ticket prices so everyone can enjoy a movie on a weekly basis like old times and reasonable popcorn too. The movie was Ok. I didn't care for the 2D glasses because my eyes are not the best but the stadium style threater and comfortable seats were always a plus here. I notice they don't get a lot of movie goers well as someone who runs a business maybe you should focus on lower your prices a little and you will get more business and income that way. Just a thought but in the long run I decided I will only come to the movies once a year like I do now especially since we are trapped for 30 minutes in commercials we already seen on TV and prices again have gone up more from the last time. read more

This is the absolute worst movie experience of my life. We went to the 915 IT movie on Friday, September 22, 2017. When we walked into the theater, it smelled like rotting sewage...we were above a bathroom, so I can only assume their septic tank was on the outs. The theater itself has stadium seating, which would be great, except for the fact that EVERY SINGLE SEAT is covered in nasty, questionable stains which made me wonder if I left the theater with some kind of communicable disease, or lice. The movie was scheduled to start at 915. It began at 935 when I became annoyed and went to the front to ask them if they planned on starting the movie. "What movie?" They asked, clueless. I sat in the back row with a my husband, a family of 3, and a couple...with multiple seats between us, while person after person flooded the theater required them to dislocate their c-spine to watch the movie. Why you ask? Because every seat was broken! I'm not begging people to sit next to me, but if I'm someone staring straight up at a screen, I won't be happy about the broken open seats in a decent seating section. If you feel like spending $12 bucks to get AIDS, hepatitis, and to not see a movie in time, then you are in luck! Hit up the AMC in Lisbon, CT! read more

I usually go to this theater about once a week or maybe once every two weeks. Every time I have went I have gotten good customer service, but not tonight. My friends and I chose to go see a movie that was Rated "R". Even though we are all over the age of 18 they chose to card us (never carded us before). That wasn't what made me upset because they were just doing their job. Since we have never been carded before one of my friends did not bring her ID. When we went inside to pay for the tickets the employee that cashed us out was really stuck up and rude. He told us that we weren't able to go in because one of our friends doesn't have an ID on her so we picked another movie. We decided that the second choice was not what we wanted to see. Soon after the ticket purchase so our friend decided to call her mom to get a picture of the ID, and then go back and get our tickets changed. During the phone call another one of the employees screamed at us and threatened that she was going to kick us out if we didn't go into the movie that we purchased for. Definitely will not be going back to that theater... Terrible, just plain terrible. read more

I have been attending this theater since it first open in the Lisbon Landing as O'Neil Theaters and it was great. Unfortunately I have to say that since it change hands the service is not the same. This is the fourth time that I go with my family to enjoy a movie and had to either wait hours for another viewing time or leave the theater without watching the movie. Why? Because after buying our tickets we couldn't find seats to seat as a family. While the theater have not been full in any of the occasions there were multiple rows of empty seats been hold by one or two individuals for people that were not at the theater yet. I could understand if they are at the concession stand or playing games while waiting for the movie to start, but this were not the case. So our family and others in the same situation were holding tickets for seats that were on hold for no ticket holders. I have brought up my concerns before as well as other patrons I know have too, to the theater's employees and got just apologies but the next time the same thing happens. The worse part is that it does not matter if we buy the tickets in advance. We try doing this with hopes of getting seats, and even go in hours early with the same results. I have to say that our family will be going back to our old theater, we'll have a longer ride but at least will get good customer service. read more
