line to enter the arena for Connecticut Sun WNBA game
Dan R.

"I got a color TV so I can see the Knicks play basketball" (Sugarhill Gang) The Mohegan Sun Arena is a 10,000-seat multi-use entertainment venue inside the Mohegan Sun Casino. Since its 2001 opening, it has hosted such diverse events as AKC dog shows, WWE/MMA/UFC fights, bare knuckle boxing, Strongman competitions, rodeos, arena football, lacrosse, concerts of every musical genre from classical to heavy metal, and basketball. Plenty of basketball. The Boston Celtics have played preseason games there, but the main basketball attraction since 2003 has been the Connecticut Sun of the Women's National Basketball Association. The Mohegan Sun Arena has hosted around 465 Connecticut Sun regular season and post-season home games. We were two of the 8,910 in attendance at a late season game between the Connecticut Sun and Phoenix Mercury yesterday afternoon, and it was quite a high energy entertainment experience. The player introductions included crowd pumping AC DC and Jimi Hendrix tunes. Over the course of the afternoon, we saw a successful marriage proposal on the Jumbotron scoreboard, songs featuring a karaoke cam and a Simba cam (hold up your child), a few T-Shirt tosses, plenty of cheerleader and dance team routines, plenty of music during lulls in the action (when's the last time you heard "Gangnam Style"?), and a halftime show by Grammy nominated rapper Skee-Lo. The Sun led most of the first quarter, but the rest of the game was very close with many lead changes, until Connecticut finally won by three points on a late rally. What a fun experience.

We have been to this venue a few times now and have always had a good experience. There is really not a bad seat in the house. The most irritating and also infuriating thing is that some high rollers get comped with the best seats, and they are not at all into nor interested in the show and leave early. Some lines getting in and out of venue but 5 to 10 min wait at most. Great place to see a show.

Enjoyed an amazing concert at this venue. Plenty of seating ,awesome lighting, and they offer a variety of different food, vendors and drinks. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Here to watch my daughters East Catholic CIAC championship Game. There's a few vendors here like me he CT Army National Guard and selling of CIAC Championship sports wear. I bought a sweatshirt and sweatpants w the logo as this is a big accomplishment for East Catholic Girls Basketball and o go this far and hoping for the WIN

Came for a concert on Valentines, the casino was already busy because of the holiday. We parked at the Winter Garden garage/parking lot and found that was the easiest entry for us to get to the arena. This was my first time at a concert in this arena. I was very impressed by how intimate it was and how it seemed every seat was a good seat. It was very shocking that a regular sized beverage, not even a 16 oz, was a whopping $12, which deterred us from having more than one drink. Bathrooms were clean and plentiful.

One of the better venues I have ever been to. Just wish it wasn't so far away. We came from Central Jersey and it took us 4 hours due to some mad Friday weekend traffic. We came to see Duran Duran, who is touring to promote their newest album...Danse Macabre. This arena is half the size of MSG and holds 10K. No matter which seat(s) you choose, you will have killer view. The sound came through beautifully. Super friendly staff. Bags will be searched and everyone has to hold their phones over their heads as they walk through the scanning machines. Seats are hard but I had no problem with it. It was easy to enter and exit as well. Don't forget to get your merch before or after the show. It's a wonderful arena inside a casino where my SIL is a blackjack dealer. The upper level of the casino is mostly celebrity-owned restaurants. Wanted to surprise my nephew, who is a manager at Starbucks, but he already left his shift. Told one of the baristas to let him know all his uncles and aunties came by. Lol. Ummm, you guys need to perfect that hot chocolate. I also happened to meet one of the waiters in the elevator from the newest restaurants here at Mohegan Sun, The Shed! I highly recommend. Pros: - FREE PARKING (shocking, I know) - Smoking on the casino floor is banned HAPPY 66th SIMON LEBON!!! #ForeverDuranies

Came to see Duran Duran, and the venue is super intimate, holding around 10,000. We usually go to see concerts at MSG, but this was a pleasant surprise! Concession prices are cheaper here, and the bathrooms are super clean! We were in section 19, and the view was superb! Gonna have to see more concerts here, in the future!

Do NOT sleep on this venue! Been to a lot of venues indoor and out, this unique one is top 10 without a doubt. For starters, the size. Seating capacity is around 10,000. Not a bad seat in the house. You can see some heavy hitters here and have a stellar experience. Second, would def be parking. It's free! It's on site! You may have to trek a bit through the maze-like casino, but who cares! The sound techs and staff are all super experienced and great at what they do. I'll see many, many more shows here. They wouldn't be who they are if they weren't who they were.

02/26/2023 - Air Supply in concert. Concert slowly filling up.

02/26/2023 - Here to see one of my favorite soft rock bands of the 80's and 90's Air Supply. The arena seats 10K people. The seats are comfortable. They offer food and beverages for sale and most importantly the acoustics are pretty good. Make sure to go early to your event since everyone needs to go through metal detectors, pocketbooks and bags are throughly searched and inspected. Leave your pepper spray, knives and guns at home :)

Just saw Doobie Brothers and they were BAD !! October 5 th . Paid $250 for my seat in section 5. The kid next to me paid $103. The music was VERY LOUD so they could drown out Michael McDonald's voice . He only played 3 of his songs . He was kind of in his own world wanting no attention. I think he needed the cash and the group needs his name to attract customers. The arena was clean with good tempature and cushioned seats . I must admit I never knew Doobie Brothers were hard rock .

Been to the mohegan sun arena plenty of times before to see The Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas solo (Twice!), and even Jeff Dunham! Been here recently on Thursday August 17th 2023 with my mom to see The Jonas Brothers on their 5 Albums 1 Night tour. Seats are comfortable, although we all stand and dance at some point. They offer food and beverages in the arena. We purchased a water, that was poured into a cup with a lid on it. it was $5.00 for a water. They also had a merch stand both inside and outside of the arena. They did have more merch inside the arena, but if you want simple, outside is best, where i brought my new shirt! Both cashiers at the merch stand and at the beverage stand were very nice and friendly. My mom and i enjoyed another great show by the Jonas Brothers! Do come here early, as they body scan everyone, and check bags. Although they were great at communicating about bringing a see-through bag, which makes the process easier i'm sure. Restrooms also were super clean. Will be back next time to see a concert again soon!

It was my first time here last night. I was excited to check out the arena at Mohegan sun. Its a pretty good size, I was impressed. The sound sounded great. I saw a comedian so there was no band or music or anything. The arena seems like even if you sit on the top area its still a good view. They have great two screens too on each side. The staff here, well there are definitely alot of security and staff. They are all helpful and mostly nice. Beers are reasonable priced but just know that they have to pour beers into cups and they are not allowed to put covers on it. After the show was over, it took long for us to file out of the arena. I was on the floor so there was a massive crowd. Once outside of the arena area to get upstairs I took the stairs because for whatever reason they blocked off the escalator so people were just not knowing what to do and why they were not allowing people to use it. Other than this it was a good experience. Would like to try and see an actual concert here one day.

First time experiencing the court side seats and would think that should include something a little more upscale than nachos, pulled pork, potato salad and a few cupcakes ... Was not impressed with the spread.

Ask the Community - Mohegan Sun Arena

Is there an escalator or stairs for the mohegan sun basketball arena?

They definitely have stairs (I know because I used them). I don't remember seeing an escalator, but I did see people in wheelchairs in the upper seating area, which leads me to believe that they have an elevator. But, don't quote me on that, I've… Read more

No where else in my life I have been able to see major acts for FREE and get GREAT seats and sound quality and drink booze and chill up close and personal with major rock stars. It is a teenie open area located right in the center of the casino. F**k arenas and theaters and hassling with on-line crap and spending major bucks for a lousy and aggravating night trying to park your car and deal with BS security crap in order to sit a mile away for atrocious sound quality and droves of people, etc. The Den has NO bad seats because all seats are no more than 75 feet from the band. And you are free to go on the floor and stand right in front of the band. Go to The Den! Get here early to get a seat or just show up whenever. You don't need no tix! The Wolf Den is the greatest! You must be 21 or older to enter the Wolf Den (they may scan your license) and admission is free, first corne first served with rows of limited seating on the outer rounded edges of this venue and standing room (sometimes chairs) in front of the stage. The acoustics and sound system are superb. It is best to arrive here early so you can get in with lines forming early for popular acts. Once the Wolf Den is at capacity, they stop letting people in and you are stuck trying to watch the show from the casino floor or bar. I've enjoyed countless live music acts with full band, mostly country and rock musicians perform here over the years including Jake Miller, Carly Pearce, Cassadee Pope, Nick Fradiani, Hannah Ellis, Alisan Porter, Alana Springsteen, Tenille Arts, Cam, and many more to name. Most live concerts begin at 8pm sharp or 7pm (Sunday show) and last 75-90 minutes. Every seat in this venue is a great seat! However, I usually stand in front of the stage most of the time for the best up close view of the concert. There are bar staff, who will walk around before the show to take and serve drink orders. There are restrooms in the Wolf Den, so you don't have to leave and come back in. Many times (not always) after the show, the artist(s) may come out to meet fans and sign autographs at the merch table to the left side of the Wolf Den stage (used to be right side several years ago). I've met many artists here and made lasting memories along with several regulars & friends in attendance. I've traveled close to 140 miles each way after work on a Thursday or Friday or took my time getting here on the weekends, just to enjoy some free live music in the Wolf Den. After I'm done, I will grab some food at one of the many restaurants at Mohegan Sun and some Krispy Kreme and may also play some slots too. A night out at Mohegan Sun with free live music at the Wolf Den, is a win in my book!

They had a DJ I didn't know but he did pretty good. We danced all night and had a great time. Drinks were great. The Cosmopolitan Martine could have been better according to the few that ordered it but all other drinks were great. Bartenders were quick to take our orders considering how packed the place was. I have been here many times in the past 18 years. I loved that now they have a bucket to the left of the bar filled with water bottles. And this is great cause for us dancing all night hydration is important. So that's a plus for them. The only bad thing is that tables were filled with glassware and many broken next to dance floor. A dance floor that was packed so a little bump to the table and it could be a huge accident. Lots of broken glass on the dance floor too. I had to point out to one of the security guard the broken glasses near dance floor tables. They did take care of it fast. I may suggest to the manager to have a person come by with a bag just to pick up the actual garbage too. And maybe a bucket for glassware. Cause the guy that was picking up some was carrying it on his hand so it's hard to carry that many. So come by to have a good time. 100% recommend this place. The place is great for all ages. Music is great as well and they try to mix it up real good unless it's a theme night. Prices for drinks are reasonable considering that it's the casino. And now with no smoking band in the casino I'm happier to visit more often.
