Mid ass food. I'd rather fucking eat at ihop. I think the only acceptable way to eat here is if I was black out drunk. The server was nice, but the host got my husbands drink order and then walked away, didn't ask me, and I had to call her back over for mine. Some of our food was undercooked and everything on the menu looked fucking dry as shit. My man brings leftovers home from every place we eat out, but didn't want to here. Overall we had a very nice lunch on our way back to Folsom from Yosemite Valley. The place has an old diner feel with super friendly service. The flavors were about average and not much to write about. My pancakes were good to start with. My country fried steak tasted a bit on the greasy side. This could quite possibly be one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. Everything was covered in dust (see photo of the TV that hung directly over our table), there were cob webs on many of the lighting fixtures, there were so many flies we spent much of the time batting them away from our food. To top it off, the food was mediocre at best. I give two stars because the waitress was nice, but that's about it. Given our experience there and the lack of cleanliness and flies, I am stumped at the 5 star reviews. They obviously had a completely different experience. I won't be back. read more

So. My good friend and I came to this establishment to give it a try. I was literally just loving the whole vibe we got from the beginning to the end! We were seated very quickly by our server, Angie. Angie was so nice and very attentive to our table! She literally made the whole experience amazing. Now to the food My friend was loving the fish and chips (especially the fries she loved) and I got the burger and it was so yummy, bonus points for all the condiments being on the side already in the plastic bottles they provided! Amazing service and amazing food. What else can you ask for? This isn't your typical cafe. Their breakfast menu is 10x's better than what you see at Denny's or IHOP and the quality speaks for itself. My party of 5 were completely satisfied with their meal and already planned to come back. The entire staff were attentive; constantly refilling coffee/drinks every 5 minutes and asking if we need anything. Sometimes I have to break an arm and a leg to get some service, but not here. Food came out promptly considering it was a holiday and it was a full house. Bathrooms were also clean; which is always a plus. Terrible service upon seating down. We were told that we would need to move tables if a large group came in to eat. I replied; why would we move that was rude she left and then another waitress came and said the same thing to us that we would have to move if a large group came in. First of all we had a handicap person with us who could barely walk with walker. Second, we all were Latin and felt it was discrimination. The restaurant was empty on Sunday, June 4th and there was no reason why this would have been done to us. Very upsetting and I am reporting this to the corporate office as well. Needed 40 decent meals at a decent price in *to go* containers. Got a confirmation phone call the day before, which was really nice. The day of, the manager called to ask if I wanted to.pre pay so when I came to pick up the meals, I could just pull.up to the back door and load up. Gladly said yes! I arrived and the meals were boxed up securely and 3 employees loaded me up. No fuss, no muss! The recipients of the meals were very happy with what they received. Fall of 98 was the last time I've been to a Perkos, and it was the one in Yuba City, I have always been compelled to try this location but tonight I needed a dose of nostalgia. I really needed a hot chocolate are used to always get one when I was a kid and the whip cream was always so good and to my surprise tonight it's like the item has never changed it was completely the same taste, flavor and it was very comforting , I then spent the next half an hour reminiscing and even though I was full I still ordered a poached egg on toast to see if the flavor taste the same and even though the bread is different everything else was classic. Call me old-fashioned but I love when you can go into a place 20+ years later and order something that you order in a completely different location and still experience the same flavor profile it's kind of magical and it brings back memories Of yesteryear . This place has one of the best bloody Mary's that we have ever experienced. The food is prepared with love and care and no detail is over looked. My husband and I literally just walked out of Perkos. I asked to wait for the fresh pot of decaf to be done and got the worst attitude back from our server Angie. With eyes rolling and mumbling as she walked away from our table. When the fresh pot was done she took the cup that had old coffee in it and threw the coffee in the trash and filled it with the fresh brewed. I asked her for a clean cup and again with the attitude!! Needless to say it rubbed me wrong and we left. I will be calling management on her. Also, the chefs are not wearing masks which is gross. They were laughing and talking all over the food.
