I recently bought a 2008 328CI from Perillo BMW. Upon walking in, I was warmly welcomed by Peter Mers. Peter was very helpful in assisting me in every way, and made the whole experience relatively painless. One snag in the process was when the staff could not locate the particular car I was buying in their inventory. Peter went to the lot and found the car, which had been there all the time. Although the day was very long for me, I am a satisfied customer and will be contacting Peter directly for my next BMW purchase. read more

So my 3rd Perillo BMW purchased in 9 years. Need to get some simple bumper scratch work repaired, under a bumper guard warranty we purchased, also from Perillo. 1. Booked an appointment for Friday. Re-arranged our schedules to have the car gone for awhile, but we get called on Friday to tell us they can't accomodate our appointment. It gets rebooked for the next Monday. 2. Monday morning- get another call from Perillo saying they can't keep this appointment either, and they will call back (which they never did) to rebook. 3. I call Perillo on Monday morning- the service manager isn't in on Mondays (strange, since Monday is the best day to get your car in for service if you want it back that week). I can't reach anyone with decisional authority to do anything, let alone book the appointment. 4. I do find out that the minor bumper work takes 3-5 days - which is absurd. Clearly (and the body shop confirmed this) they aren't working on your car continuously, but in a "when we have time" manner. You are without your vehicle longer, because they can't perform work in a timely manner. 5. Called BMW North American HQ on Monday to complain. They (headquarters) tried to call Perillo and couldn't get a person with authority on the phone, and couldn't resolve the situation. 6. Spoke to a sales manager on Monday (tried to speak with anyone with authority to get something done) - was told sorry that Perillo cancelled on us twice, so they'd arrange a loaner car during the bumper work. Sounds great, but they never called back to set this up. 7. Insult to injury- we get a voicemail late Monday saying we never showed up for our service appointment (truth: they cancelled it), more evidence to support a hypothesis that the Perillo service department is in a dysfuncational state of chaos. Giving up. NEVER buying another vehicle from Perillo, and we'll have to suck it up and drive at least an hour to the suburbs to get service done at other BMW dealerships. read more

Wow. Surprised to see negative reviews. Do I get really solid service from them because I bought an extended warranty from them when the original one expired? (I didn't buy the vehicle from Perillo.) Don't know, but I've been going to Brad for a few years, and he's been most helpful, even chasing down the warranty company when they initially (incorrectly, it turns out) refused to cover a problem. I think they're great. read more

A day after I'd written my original review on Yelp, Perillo BMW's service manager made an attempt to reach out to me. For that effort alone in going the extra mile, I have to give props to Perillo...not the owner, but to the service manager. My rear brake pads were replaced in a timely fashion and the other issues which had been neglected on a prior visit were addressed to my satisfaction. This of course doesn't excuse my original reasons for being dissatisfied with the servicing department. But, I will attest to the fact that no excuses or BS were offered on the phone or in person as one would have expected. It's inexcusable that it takes this to get what is standard customer service in this industry, but it also takes gumption to go to the efforts that the service manager went to in an effort to rectify matters. From what I was told, it looks like there is a new system in place that addresses my original complaint. But, it seems like I'll have to wait until the next time my service light comes on to comment on if it has indeed resolved the problem. read more

In love with my newly purchased BMW X3. For someone who walked in not knowing exactly what I was looking for, I was very pleased in the end. Not only did I get to test drive few different models, my sales consultant felt confident the X3 would meet my expectations best. Burim, took his time explaining every detail & seemed very knowledgeable about each vehicle he presented to me. I can't thank him enough for being this patient with me and making sure I left the dealer happy. He followed up with me days later, to be sure everything was running smoothly & offered assistance should I ever have any more questions/concerns. I greatly appreciate his assistance as well as everyone's hospitality at Perillo BMW. read more

I went to perillo bmw because they had a certified 2008 x5 with 19k that I was interested in. I ended up buying this truck instead of a new jeep because I was told how awesome a certified bmw was. Little did I know this was not the case...As much as I love my vehicle it managed to be in the shop 4 times within the 2.5 months I owned it. The major reasons the x5 was in the shop was for brakes, lights, noises in the trunk, and a random loss of engine power which almost created an accident. By the fourth time I tried to get a hold of a manger. I had to stalk this person in order to speak with him. I was on vacation emailing and calling which ended up taking 4 business days to hear back. My car has now been in the shop for 10 days, they cannot find the problem. The service manager was very informative about the other problems and yet can't explain the loss of power. The manager seems to be giving me the run around and has yet to ease my mind about this issue. Customer service is terrible!!! Also if you do have a problem and want a loaner car prepare yourself for a 2 week wait. I would suggest the orland dealership for maine issues. Good Luck! read more

Yesterday, I got my CPO 528xi from here. If you know what you want, this place is hassle free. This place is the only BMW dealer in the city, so they are crazy busy. Doing your own research before you step in saves you a lot of time. Vanessa took care of me. She was amazing and so professional. She had the service team re-do my rear bumper. Unlike other car dealers, my whole experience was amazing. Oh btw, the finance dude Alex is legit. read more

I bought a 2014 BMW I3 REX with 12,000 miles in March, 2015 for $29K. The price was negotiated without my knowledge of this car falling under the Lemon Law. When I arrived to sign papers/pick up, I was informed that the car had been returned to the factory, and that I was receiving about a $2000 credit for factory repair (that they had already included in the above price, which is what I paid). I was told I would get an extended warranty also, due to the factory repair. I requested the EL license plates and was told I had to obtain those from the DMV, but actually REX does not qualify for EL plates (the salesman knew, I am sure). BUYER BEWARE...to trade the car in means an $8000 loss of its normal value because of the Lemon Law. I have no extended warranty according to Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville, who said the car value is currently 8K at less than 36,000 miles. This IS where you come to get ripped off...as another reviewer mentioned. I called Joe Perillo, left a message, no return phone call. Expect nothing--because that's what you'll get. read more

I've been going to Perillo for 9 years and as the time frame suggests, I have been very satisfied with the product and for the most part , the service. Ken Reffsin got us into our first one 9 years ago. Alex, a former salesman, now a sales manager, got us into our next two. He always bent over backward to accommodate us as our budget margins were a little tight. When we went back last week to see about a lease on a new X3 we were disappointed to learn that Alex Lebdeh was no longer a salesman, but as mentioned earlier, a sales manager. So, instead we were helped by a salesman named Allen Sahagian. He was a breath of fresh air. Very knowledgeable and easy going. We just wanted to test drive the new X3 as our lease had a few more months to go and didn't think we'd be driving out of the dealership with a new one, but that's exactly what happened. There was little to no pressure, but he, with the help and numbers crunching of Alex, made it possible for us to drive out of the dealership with a new car before our lease was up. I couldn't have been more happy or surprised. Needless to say the new car is sweet. No need to drive out to the 'burbs as far as I'm concerned. We hope to be fortunate enough to drive a BMW from Perillo for years to come! read more

I can only attest to the service department and only one Service Advisor, George Portillo. I have been in twice for warranty work and some routine maintenance. George was more than accommodating to my requests and went the proverbial extra mile to fufill all of my problems. I also was given a nice loaner, brand new 3 series to drive around for a couple days while my X5 was in for service. Overall, my experience there has been pleasurable with the loaner office to the cashiers, but George Portillo really stood out and make sure to ask for him if you need to go there for service. read more

I bought a used 745i and I had problems with it within the first six months. I read all of the horrible reviews and I thought, ok, I'm screwed. However, I contacted the used car manager and he really helped me out! They went above and beyond, and I got my car fixed and I am loving it, again. So, I have nothing to say but, Thank You, Perillo! read more

We bought a 335D from Peter Mers on Saturday. I don't usually write reviews but the experience was great. Peter was friendly, efficient, and clearly knew a ton about BMWs. We were both impressed also when he offered to have us meet with one of his colleagues to get into more detail about diesel car maintenance. It was refreshing that he knew his limits and offered this without us asking. We love the car and would definitely buy from Perillo again (and I am going to bring my A4 to their body shop!). read more

Well this this the second time we've been screwed by their service department. Today we took our car in to have the oxygen sensors replaced (we got the parts b/c they couldn't find them) and in 1 hour and 15 minutes they charged us $465. Now, this was an issue that they found two weeks ago when they had our car in for service but they called the second day that they had it and said, nevermind it's not an issue...so we picked up the car after the rest of the items were fixed and we got two blocks away and the light came back on. 5 minutes later we took it to the emmission testing facility and failed because of the "non-issue" that they had found days before and said that it was no longer a problem. So we brought the car back the next day and they said it would be $789...WHAT? So we bought our own parts (the same ones they couldn't find) and took it back in. Last week they told me that we would have to drive 250 miles after they fixed it for the error code to go away, then on the phone he said the could reset the computer so we wouldn't have to. Well today when they called to confirm what they were going to do we said go ahead, one hour and 15 minutes later they called to say it was done. When we went to pick it up they said they labor costs were $465 ( I had checked with another mechanic last week and he said it would only be $150)!!!! Now just last week we had the head gaskets replaced which took 10 hours and that labor was only $775...so how was one hour $465???!!!! This isn't the first time they've ripped us off. Last Christmas we took it in for its inspection II and were given the cost when it was completed. Well when we arrived to pick it up 2 hours later, the price had jumped almost $500. Not a nice Christmas surprise. Needless to say we will not be going back there again. As for the sales floor, when we were looking to trade-in our 528 for an X5, they only offered us $1,000 for our 5 series which had a trade-in value of $9,000 and then called us daily for 3 weeks until we finally told them that we had purchased our X5 elsewhere for $17,500 LESS than what they wanted for an identical model. read more

I am writing in response to two related experiences at Perillo BMW. First I recently went in for a regular servicing. The experience was handled flawlessly by Alex Padalko, my assigned service adviser. Shortly upon departure a rear tail light went out due to an error in reassembling the bumper after being touched up. During the second visit I mentioned some issue with my brakes and within a day of that visit Alex had taken care of everything. Every experience I have had with service to date has been better than at any other dealership I have been exposed to. Secondly, I have noticed on yelp some comments about one of the sales persons, Ken R. I'd like to add my two cents. By way of background I was looking for my BMW several months before purchasing it. I has specific requirements and I would visit BMW dealers in different cities if I happened to be there on business. I also tracked all of the ones of note meeting my parameters by Internet. I explained what I was looking for to Ken and within 3 weeks he found and delivered the exact car I wanted and at a price consistent with the best price I could find anywhere in the country. He was direct, patient, and friendly. He exhibited traits consistent with how I wish to be treated. Subsequent to the purchase he has checked in with me about my satisfaction with the vehicle on several occasions. That I can vividly recall the experience from 3 years ago says allot about how well he has handled himself. read more

I leased my first BMW X1 from Ricardo at Perillo BMW and had a great experience. Nice people with great customer service!

Best customer service, expertise and value that I've ever received from a BMW representative was with Frank Billman at Perillo.

We purchased X6 last week and couldn't be happier with the car and service. We had a DVD screen that we wanted to be taking out and they did an amazing job! You can not even see where it was in a first place. They brought the car to Arlington Heights because we couldn't make it to Chicago that day. Outstanding customer service! read more

This review is for Ken in the sales dept. Bought a vehicle through him 3 years ago and he is still helpful when we have questions or issues come up. It's a rare thing to find - not just when buying a car - that a sales person will give you the time of day after they've closed the deal. read more

This was by far my worst shopping experience, trying to buy a BMW. This even includes shopping with out of state dealerships. My first clue should have been when I first called and was promised a call back on the status of the car I was interested in. Never received a call back. (BTW This would have been a $48K sale). After calling back the next day and asking for different sales person, we agreed I would come down with my family to test drive the car. So I took off from work, and went down to the next day. All went went for a few hours, at which point we wanted to negotiate to purchase the price. Not sure how much clearer about buying a person can be when they he is there with his wife and kids. No answers from the general manager about our requests. So we left for dinner and awaited a call. Nothing until 8PM so we left the city and headed back home. The next day I get an email!!! Really after all this time you are emailing me ? How about a call ? I'm still optimistic we can negotiate the sale. I requested a phone call, so I can drive back down and workout the purchase. I spent the rest of the day calling back, leaving text/ voice messages and nothing. I finally get a text message at 6PM that they were too busy and the promise that the GM will call me first thing Monday morning. Monday morning came and went and heard nothing. I left multiple messages, text etc...nothing...By 4PM I wizened up and called the dealership pretending to be a new customer interested in the car...I learned from him that they had sold the car on Saturday !!! I'll let you decide i how I felt after taking a day off, being lied to and not getting any responses...Don't feel too bad for me, my new car is on the day from an out of state dealer (Shaeffer BMW in NC) who was a joy to work with even without seeing or driving the car. Save yourself and visit others in the suburbs.. Patrick BMW or Motorwerks etc they were all wonderful shopping with. read more

Came in for a low tire pressure and a car wash at 5:20pm, 40 minutes before they close their customer service on Thursdays. They told me it was impossible to get my car washed because it was their crunch time. They are washing cars for other "pick ups" and that I should come sometime during the day for that service. It showed me that my services didn't matter to them especially that they couldn't do something so simple as drive my car through their wash. Not the first time it's happened. read more

I never like the new car buying process but my experience at Perillo was smooth and haggle-free. I had a very favorable experience with Perillo BMW. I inquired about a certified pre-owned vehicle via the internet, and Sebastian Zielinski responded nearly immediately. Sebastian worked with me to schedule an appropriate time for a test drive. Upon arrival, he handled everything like a seasoned vet. Sebastian made all of the arrangements for out of state licensing on a timely basis. After purchase, Sebastian kept in regular contact to remind about licensing paperwork and to for me to pick up brand new floor mats. I moved out of state not long after purchase, but Sebastian sustained the regular contact to address all the matters. After driving my car for a long distance during my move, I noticed vibration occurring which I had previously mentioned to the Perillo team. A local BMW shop diagnosed it as a tire issue. I mentioned it to Sebastian and he once again took immediate action. He even recommended reimbursement from Perillo as means to rectify the situation. I felt very comfortable with Perillo and this service supported their strong brand name and image. read more

I own a 2009 BMW X6 with 70k miles in well kept condition. The valve stems and seals needed replaced and the estimate was well over $7k. I came into Perillo's BMW just to look around. I currently own a 13X3. My wife and I just had an addition to the family so I was looking into the 16 x5 because we need the extra room . I loved the luxury feel and drive and especially loved the 3D navigation! The sales person who showed me around was Briana Green. She was so sweet, knowledgeable, funny and most importantly, patient! Even though she knew I was not going to buy than, she didn't make me feel rushed or that I was wasting her time. When we are ready to buy, I will definitely be going back to Perillo's to buy from Mrs. Green. Great dealership with a better staff! I highly recommend it!!!! read more

I needed collision work after an encounter with a semi. Fortunately, the trucking company acknowledged its responsibility, so there was no prolonged discussion about paying for the work. Aman was my service advisor, and he provided a clear explanation of the work required, and got things moving quickly. This was good, as a number of parts had to be ordered. He kept me informed of the progress of the repair. Most importantly, he worked closely with the trucking company to arrange for payment, saving me the hassle. The repair work itself was excellent. read more

This place is horrible! Had a service appointment today. When I get there had to wait in line to get in the door just loaded with people coming in. Not enough employees or a system of overloading. Got a lady service person who was rude as they come, short with me not friendly and was quick to shut me down. None of her computers worked. Later on she "text" me so say they can't get to my car today. I should have figured. Looks like they just load up the service department take your car hostage in the name of greed. I'll take it somewhere else afterwards. I'm sure she will call with a bunch of "needed" work on my car. They always find a bunch of made up stuff. Bmw as a brand is becoming washed up and this dealership is an example. No a/c for the employees leaky pipes all over. Everything beat up and looks like dealer is 100 years old. I cannot address sales or service concerns when dealing with Perillo BMW since I have never purchased one of their vehicles. However, I would like to speak to their advertising practices--particularly their choice of spokesmen, which can say a lot about a company. Many will remember an advertising campaign Perillo did about 2-4 years ago in which they purchased huge blocks of cable and network airtime for a commercial that showed taped testimonials by about 7-8 proud owners of one or more of their products. Said commercial ran incessantly for about 1 1/2 years. Undoubtedly, the people featured were considered by Perillo (and quite possibly by themselves, as well) to be a smattering of the more prominent residents of this metropolitan area. Two of these "satisfied" customers clearly stand out in memory: Rhonda Bentley and Mark B. Weiss. Her last name is almost too coincidental to be believable (she's named after a competitor?). But it is the use of the latter's testimony which I find to be utterly laughable. When his interview would air, the viewer was treated to the most pompous display of smug, self-aggrandizement ever broadcast from the Chicagoland media outlets. Upon conclusion, he informed us of the length of time he has owned BMSs: "I've been a Perillo customah since noynteen eighty-two." Thanks, Perillo. We always wanted to know that. I suspect that the good folks at Perillo snare their prey by realizing that the Overly Disposable Incomed will often display an urgent--even pathological--need to get that warm, fuzzy feeling of self-importance by purchasing high-ticket luxury items (no matter what the APR). Sadly, Mark takes this craving to impress others to a new low. His m.o. is the following: a). makes a purchase in a public place. b). creates a problem and then makes a scene with the sole intent of getting someone to kiss his ass. c). tries to get somebody fired if step (b) proves insufficient or fruitless. [Didn't Oprah once do a show on people like THAT?} I will rate Perillo according the rating already earned, which is two stars. read more
