I've been bringing my BMWs (this is my fourth or fifth) to Perillo BMW Downtown for almost a decade. Normally, service is straightforward. This time, not so much. Brought my car in early Monday morning for a full checkup before my warranty expires in December. Angelo, my service advisor, was personable and told me everything was under warranty, including the multipoint inspection, sensor check, wipers, etc. Dropped the car off, signed the standard forms, and was told it would be ready around noon. All good so far. But when I came to pick it up, suddenly I owed $255 for services I never authorized or was told would cost extra. Nobody called, texted, or emailed about out-of-pocket expenses. Turns out, my maintenance warranty expired earlier than the full warranty, info Angelo missed. After waiting for him to return from lunch, he admitted the mistake and offered to knock $100 off. I was still expected to pay the rest and "pay when I can," which wasn't what I signed up for. At the front desk, confusion continued--bill was back to $200+, and the manager, Cesar, got involved. Instead of fixing the error outright, he actually suggested putting my old parts back on if I didn't want to pay. Last I checked, it's illegal in Illinois to perform service over $100 without explicit customer consent. After some back-and-forth, they finally waived the charge and let me go. But the entire situation felt avoidable and honestly, a little hostile especially for a repeat customer. Bottom line: * Service techs are nice but not always thorough on what's covered. * Watch your paperwork and ask for calls before any paid service, even if they say you're under warranty. * Don't expect anyone to call you about surprise charges. * Management handled it, but not without an attitude. I'll keep coming here because location matters and the techs are generally good, but just know you have to advocate for yourself. Service communication is terrible. Courtesy on drop offs is terrible. I literally stood waiting for 15 minutes by my car with 5 people at their service desks doing nothing, one literally staring into space, before the one person working acknowledged me. They didn't call or text with updates, didn't even start the oil change until 30 minutes after it was supposed to be completed. Phone call appointment was recorded incorrectly. Bait & Switch!!! I recently visited BMW of Perillo in Chicago to view a used vehicle I was interested in purchasing, and my experience was unfortunately very disappointing. Upon arrival, I was not greeted by anyone, despite the showroom not appearing busy. Eventually, I located the sales representative I had been corresponding with, Louis, who showed me the vehicle and accompanied me on a test drive. During the test drive, I noticed that one of the tires had a significantly low pressure reading of 27 PSI, while the others were within normal limits. It was concerning that such a basic safety check had not been completed prior to allowing a test drive. Following the test drive, Louis and I discussed my concerns and negotiated a lower price to account for the missing jack and the potential tire issue. He confirmed with his manager that the adjusted price could be honored and assured me that I could return on Monday to finalize the purchase. When I returned to the dealership as planned, Louis was unavailable. Again I had to look for someone to offer assistance. Another salesperson helped but stated that there were no notes documenting the negotiated price. After I explained the situation, the sales manager came to speak with me. Unfortunately, his demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. He blatantly refused to honor the price that had been agreed upon and confirmed just two days earlier. Shortly after leaving, Louis texted to apologize for his absence and mentioned that he would discuss the matter with the general manager upon their return. However, by that point, the experience had already left a deeply negative impression. Overall, I found BMW of Perillo to be unreliable and lacking in professionalism and integrity. They did not honor their word, failed to communicate internally, and showed little regard for my time or business. I will not be returning, and I strongly caution others to exercise care and confirm all details in writing before dealing with this dealership. You may be better served by another dealership that prioritizes integrity and customer respect. read more

Don't bother. Oil change scheduled for a time slot two weeks prior took over 24 hours. We asked multiple times why a 45-min service needed an overnight hold and received no reasoning. Team was also super unresponsive until we vocalized that we would not be returning to this location. You can find much better for how much they're charging. read more

The not informing me of their no third party checks until after a week of phone calls, text, done deal with bank check in hand, and a company check from my own, verifiable funds business for 15k until I was half way there from almost 2 hours away, was garbage. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - Once you leave the dealership the customer service is NONEXISTENT !!! I provided an insurance card prior to picking up a car I bought for my son. He's in Chicago, I'm in NY. They were supposed to register the car in NY. 56 days later they ask for another copy of the insurance card (which I provided). 2 weeks before our 90 temporary plates were to expire, we emailed inquiring where our plates were. I left numerous messages for the General Manager, multiple assistant managers and my sales rep, and no one would call me back. I finally got a message from the title dept saying that the insurance card needed both our names on it (which I provided within 30 minutes). Apparently they never followed up with their registration facilitator to find out what was the hold up for 85 days. After emailing multiple people (because no one would call me back), I finally got a response from the assistant manager Sean who tried to blame me for their mistake and failure to get my plates on time. This caused my temporary plates to expire and required me to have to pay to park the car in a garage and not use it for 10 days since it is illegal to drive it with expired plates and can be ticketed or towed. I asked Sean for a loaner and he said no. I called the Illinois Secretary of State to report them for failing to provide plates within 90 days and they had to contact the dealer to get a response. I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM THEM! read more

I'm going to give Perillo BMW an equivocal review. They are a well established dealership with a well deserved superior reputation. Here's where it gets interesting. Our salesman Ken Reffsin made the whole thing pleasant and even fun. We need a second car and are going back to see Ken very soon! The finance manager was great; explaining everything in detail and making it all very manageable and anxiety reducing. So what's the problem? Well it was the vehicle orientation. This was where the experience turned surreal. The staff member doing the orientation helped us log into the BMW app and showed us how to open the tailgate. Then we are out the door and headed home knowing almost nothing about how to operate the vehicle. Here's the gas; there's the brake; good luck! What happened to a comprehensive overview of the vehicle and its operation so you basically know how to drive it? I can't believe management and the sales people don't demand better from their staff and hold them accountable. I hope they make some changes! How about an orientation checklist signed by the customer and staff person verifying that they have been acquainted with the vehicle? read more

I brought my BMW in for factor recall service. I waited to bring it in until they had the parts available and confirmed on Wednesday that they had everything they needed and it would be out in a day. One day before dropping it off, service called an confirmed that the parts were set aside for the repair. 45 minutes before closing I get a call that they need to order a part for the recall and the car would not be available for 3-4 days. I asked to speak to the person who told me the part was there and set aside for my service but they had no idea who it was. The mechanic had also left for the day and my car is in pieces. I saw the warnings about Perillo but decided to go to them since BMW would only do the recall work at a dealership. ---------------------------- They called me today, so I called them back. They said that all the work was done and I should pick up the car. (I had my doubts) I went to the front desk and they said all the work was done. Sign the paperwork. I told them I'd sign after I saw the work. They brought the car down asked for the paperwork and I told Angelo to show me the new parts. He looked it up and said, it wasn't completed, they still don't have the part. If I hadn't asked to see the part they would have scammed me. This isn't just unethical, it's illegal read more

It took two return visits with car being there 3 nights and 4 days for them to finally fix it. When it was all done for $$$$, they told me to pick it up and it took them 45 minutes to find my half washed car.
