Well what can I say, I have purchased my 3rd BMW, 4th car in total from Perillo BMW and I refuse to go anywhere else. Frank Billman did a great job finding me the right X5, he even went as far as driving to my place with me to make sure that it fit in my parking spot at home!!! 2 thumbs up. Frank spent 20 minutes after my car was ready to make sure I knew how to use all the new gadgets on the car, Oh yeah he stayed an hour after closing to help me. Alex was professional and explained everything to me and took care of all the financing, couldn't ask for more. Both of these gentleman were what you would expect from a top notch luxury car dealership. And BTW I have never had a problem with the service department, right in and right out. read more

I had started shopping around for my first BMW about 6 months back and had some experience with a few dealerships including but not limited to BMW. Frank was exceptional in that he was very transparent with all the information and the interaction I felt was at a personal level. I called on Saturday morning to come and test drive two used 7 series, ranging from $42K to $49K. The person on the phone told me the $42K was a fresh trade but he would see if he could track it down. I noted that was fine, but also mentioned that I would be interested in testing the $49K as well. The person on the phone asked for my number and told me he would call me back in 15 minutes. I never heard back but still planned to stop over after test driving an Audi A8. I decided to go with the A8. Perillo lost a customer. read more

I purchased a 2009 Audi A5 with 36k in miles. I bought the vehicle on a Saturday and Wednesday the car over heated and would not hold engine coolant. I called the dealer to pick it up and they told me I would have to pay for the tow myself!!Once I got the car to their shop they inform me that they could not give me a loaner!!! I paid for the tow and $60 for Uber to take me home. They never called with a vehicle update. Every time I called they seemed annoyed!!! I am giving them 24 hours before I contact an attorney!! I think with any place you visit, each experience is different. For me, it was great because I had an easy time purchasing my CPO 335i xDrive from them. I had been searching around for other cars throughout the day, and wasn't exactly enthused with the experience. Then I saw that Perillo had a very low mileage BMW I wanted to test drive in the color I wanted. The price was already low for the miles and it had all the features we wanted. We worked with Peter Mers who was not pushy and made sure that we were taken care of. We had a great conversation about cars and he made sure that everything was ready by the time we were done with the finance office. (the only drawback was that the paperwork took awhile to get ready but it seems to be norm at every dealership I've ever brought a car from). On June 29th, I received the worst experience in my life as a owner of my second BMW. I came into dealership to have my AC looked at and as I was pulling in my oil light came on. No one walked up to assist me then when I finally got someone to help me he said that he would top off my oil & he lift up my hood put the oil and then came up to me and said my AC was shot without even putting it on a machine. He was rushing me to leave and would barely let me answer any questions. I felt that day I was discriminated against due to my gender & race. I am going to sell my car back to a BMW dealer and I would never step in another dealership as long as I live. I am so hurt that spending my hard earned money on this vehicle I would ne treated like this. I CAN'T CAN'T believe this happen. If you have cash to light on fire and build a beach from the ashes or enjoy having your soul sucked out while being hit in the gut with a battering ram, oh boy, you should head straight for perillo bmw. My mom's car was having some issues with the engine and for some ridiculous reason she decided to come here for repairs. They take the car in and we leave. A few hours later they call me back. the guy on the phone proceeds to tell me the issues with the car in all of this mechanical jargon he obviously KNOWS I don't understand. So, he continues Reciting all of these mechanical terms and more BS, likely in hopes of confusing me into a trance so I would give them more money and let them rob me blind. After finishing his poetry he says he needs an extra $84 in addition to the $300 im already paying because they need to widen the parameters or some sht. Fine, whatever. Then he emails me a more detailed report of what else needs to be fixed in addition to my own requests. It's a looooong list of stuff i don't actually need but they hope that I will believe it and hand over my credit card. 6 pages of more BS. and guess what! all of it adds up to over $10000! I came in for a repair that should be only at most $400 and then they feed me this BS. If I came in for repais 6-7 times and I pay whatever repairs they want me to, the cost would probably be the equivalent of buying a new car. I said hellllll no to those extra repairs they recommended I get and just paid for what I asked for. i then had to wait for ONE HOUR for them just to GET the car out of wherever they were parking it. i'd rather die in a car crash than come back here. read more

I usually purchase one or two cars per year. I have only purchased one BMW in the past, but had such a great experience with Frank Billman at Perillo BMW in Chicago I gave him a call to buy another. Unfortunately, Frank moved on from Perillo BMW and referred me to Alan Sahagian as someone good to do business with. If Alan is the best Frank can refer then it is no wonder why Frank left Perillo BMW. Nevertheless, I found a car I wanted to buy in Perillo's inventory so I called Alan. I set an appointment and went to look at the car and test drive. Everything was in order, and I informed Alan, I had one more car to drive and that I would make my decision the next day and call him. I am a very straight shooter. As promised I texted Alan the next day and said that I decided to go with the BMW. Alan could not deliver the car to me that day and even for the next couple days because he said he was too busy. No problem. I suggested I pick the car up the beginning of the following week. Alan emailed me the following Monday and let me know the car was at the body shop having some minor repairs and would be ready the following day for delivery. As I was getting ready to go pick up the car Alan sends me an email that someone else purchased the car while it was at the body shop. Excuse me ?! Not only was the car sold to me, Alan was not even polite enough to call me, he resorted to sending me an email like a coward. Which is fine, because I now have written confirmation between us as proof of our communication to attach to this post and verify this pathetic story. Alan and Perillo BMW define the "used car" stereotype of why people stay away from car dealerships. Alan was even so stereotypical as to tell me how "car salesman was the last of a dying breed of retail sales". I wonder if he listens to himself talk? No wonder it's a dying breed. People like Alan and Perillo BMW are the reason why no one wants to deal with dishonest and disrespectful organizations. BMW should be ashamed having this level of customer service and representation as an ambassador of their brand and dealer of their products. But hopefully, this letter will serve as advisory to their corporate office that customers of their brand will not tolerate service like this and will just move to their competition. Little folks like me, now have a big voice online to inform many people about what a sleazy operation folks like Perillo BMW operate. The Perillo family should be ashamed of the management they trust to uphold their name, and salesman like Alan that represent their dealership. But, I guess it stems from the top. Owner, manager, salesman... I was treated like trash, and customer service and respect was even worse. Alan claimed to work for the Perillo family for almost 30 years, clearly he was never trained or coached and doesn't have the support of a select organization. To be honest, any reputable dealer would never allow this type of service from an employee and should have a zero tolerance policy against it. I had the unfortunate luck of bringing my car there. Had no choice because I'm from out of state...first off hot and muggy, water dripping down from pipes! Where is OSHA when you need them!! wow they should take lesson from a real luxury dealer...the guy in the Hyundai in front of me got attention First since this dealer also valet cars.. I had the first appt. at 6:30am.awesome right? No! Can't get parts till 7:30am!! Doesn't make sense. Coffee or water is your only choice....Spirit airline has better choices. Then I'm overhearing the service advisor complaining that the owners won't pay for their work shirts because it's $20....how cheap can this place really be?? Ridiculously overpriced in their service estimates. Not to mention they try to up-sell you on service work that doesn't need to be done. If you're looking to get an import serviced, I would highly recommend Chicago Import Service on Clybourn. I went from Perillo with my 3-series, where they recommended items for service that totaled over $3000, to Chicago Import where several items were deemed not necessary (and they explained why), and everything was taken care of for $1500. Perillo is clean and the service person I dealt with was very friendly, but that doesn't justify up-selling unnecessary service work and gouging on the necessary service work. read more

With that said, I do not have anything pleasant to say about Perillo BMW and am in NO WAY surprised at the sheer number of negative reviews of this dealership on Yelp. To put it mildly, Perillo sucks. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Perillo in the 5+ years that I have done business with them. I could list countless problems that have occurred over the years but what's the point? The point is this, Yelpers use Yelp to find out about businesses from other Yelpers before they use them. Well, you've heard it here, and from all the other reviewers below, do not give Perillo BMW your business. They will screw you out of time, money, quality of workmanship, and they will be rude to you all the while. I have roughly 8 visits to Perillo since buying my car in 2008 and every single time there has been problems. We came to Perillo BMW after doing some research and deciding that we wanted a 2011 BMW 3 series. I initially made an appointment and when we arrived, the salesperson with whom we had made the appointment acted very confused. It turned out that he never got the message that we were coming in to see some cars. We brushed this off and had a good appointment. We took some test drives and the plan was that we would select a specific car and communicate with the salesperson to make sure we could test drive the exact car we wanted in the following weeks. My husband and I picked the car we wanted to see in the next few days and asked to come in for a test drive. The salesperson said the car we wanted was in the shop being detailed but that we would be able to see it the week of May 16. We were leaving the country at the end of May and needed to have the car by mid-June and the salesperson assured me this would not be an issue. The very last message I sent to the salesperson was asking for the Carfax report and original purchase date for the car we wanted on May 12 (we were communicating over text because the salesperson said this was the best way to reach him). Given that this is a one-star review, you can guess what happened next. It's now nearly a month later and I still have not heard back from the salesperson. I can only assume that this dealership doesn't care about customer service as they don't even want to be responsive before they get your money (so what will happen after they get it)? We are now happy Mercedes owners. read more

This dealership has actually surprised me, I have been coming here since 2009 with various different vehicles and each time I had issues with the service, they were never properly addressed until now. I had some issues with my last visit and after being connected with the customer service liaison, Cesar I was very happy. He actually had me bring my car back in and ensured that everything was fine prior to returning the car. He was very prompt on returning my call and giving me updates on the car. I bought a certified pre-owned BMW 3-series from Perillo and encountered deceit, incompetence, and even possible fraud. The facts are as follows: * I was given incorrect paperwork (for a different VIN, with incorrect or false DOT codes on the tires) with the car I was sold. Coincidentally (?) the tires would turn out to be the first indicator the car had unusual wear and tear * On selling the car to a dealer they looked it up and told me my car had been a dealer demo. That was the first I'd heard of it. Perillo was obligated to tell me it was a demo per BMW policy. The car was worth $500-$1000 less because of that so I was deceived on the price and history of the car and I would not have purchased the car had I known what they were required to tell me * I was given the wrong information on the length of my car's CPO warranty (it was extended because it was a demo) * When a problem came up I tried on 9 occasions to communicate with the manager that had authority to help (so I was told). All were actively ignored (messages not returned, not in office when I was told he would be, "in a meeting", etc). BMW customer service said they could not get the manager to return their calls either It seems the car was terribly taken care of before it was sold to me, at the minimum, and likely was in an accident. * Soon after buying the car I got a puncture in a tire. The tire shop (correctly) informed me the tires were at the absolute minimum allowable tread depth with less than 20k miles on the odometer * The muffler had been replaced with a cheap, non-standard one (no chrome tips) * The trunk latch failed to latch onto the trunk despite 2 attempts at repair by Perillo * The control arms squeaked * There were an unusual number of failures on the car * When I went to trade in the car, another BMW dealer's inspection revealed the entire car had been repainted Perillo BMW was, at best, incompetent in supplying the required paperwork, negligent in not declaring the demo status of the vehicle, and handled communication about the issue with relentless evasion. BMW needs to authorize a second BMW dealer in the city of Chicago. Without its monopoly position Perillo could not continue to operate with its current business practices, evident in the lowest Yelp rating of any BMW dealer in Illinois. Not a perfect monopoly though - for my next BMW I drove an hour away to buy from another dealer that was honest and professional from beginning to end. I recommend avoiding Perillo and making the drive to the suburbs to avoid having an experience like mine. read more

This place is the reason car salesmen get a bad rap. I found a car I was interested in on their website and made an appointment to see it. When I showed up of course the car was in the warehouse but they had other (more expensive) cars to show me. After actually finding a car I was interested in and discussing the promotional interest rate on this car, the salesman ran my credit and told me it was 690 and I wouldn't be able to get that rate but he could get me a rate a few points higher. When I questioned the score, he said hey, the difference will be like $30 a month, come down and I'll buy you a hot dog a few times a week.......nice, huh? So I left the dealership and called the credit monitoring agency I use after and attempted identity theft and asked them to get my credit score. I asked them to get it from TransUnion, the company the salesman said they used. Lo and behold, my score was 834!!! I had them send me a copy. Quite a bit different from 690, huh? When I left the salesman a message about how the scores could be so far apart from the same agency he called back and said he wasn't worried, that he could get me that rate after all. These guys are straight up CRIMINAL and I wouldn't let them put air in my tires much less buy a car there. read more

Great experience buying my first BMW! So happy with my beautiful new car and the level of service I received at Perillo. I was on the brink of buying from Carmax, but a friend told me to talk to Cesar Marin in service at Perillo if I was interested in BMW. I was unsure about going with a Gold Coast dealer after having dealt with Fletcher Jones across the street for many years, but Cesar was super straightforward and helpful, so I ended up asking if I could come by to see a few cars that afternoon. Cesar set me up with Sean Cueva in sales, who was AMAZING to work with. Nice, fun, knowledgeable, not pushy. After I bought my car, Sean went WAY out of his way to make sure I was happy with my purchase. He stayed in touch to make sure things were going well and even hooked me up after the fact with some accessories I hadn't realized I'd need. Sean is a super standup guy, he honors his word and he's on top of his stuff. He is reliable, quick responses to texts and emails even if it's his day off or after hours, and he follows through on what he says. As long as Sean is at Perillo, I'll be a customer! On the night I bought the car, Peter Mers was my stand-in "genius." Peter is in sales, but since the full-time geniuses had gone home by this time in the night, Peter gave me an excellent tutorial about all the features on my car and answered all my questions, and gave me his cell number in case I came up with more. A+ all around. My experience was great and I highly recommend Perillo to anyone in the market for a BMW. read more

Worst dealership in the country. I made an appt and drove 6 hrs roundtrip to test drive and drfive a car. An hour before my arrival I am told the car I want to test drive is in the body shop having a bumper repaired for a tiny scratch. Why wouldn't they wait till after I test drove it to fix that? Then there is a sold sign on the car but the sales man says its still available, so I try to buy it and am told it's already sold. I leave and call the GM b/c this is ridiculous and am told by Saleem that will get a resolution and call me back in 30 minutes. Well 48 hrs later and no response, I will take my business elsewhere. Happy to blacklist this place and make sure friends/family/business partners don't do business there either what a JOKE! Go Spend your money where Customer service comes first! read more

Took my car in for engine diagnosis. The next day, the service rep "Danette Surges" calls me to tell me that valve cover gasket needs to be replaced because oil has gotten into the spark plug wells. (The valve cover gasket was just replaced, and I checked my spark plugs before taking the car in, they were dry and fine). Then she days that the tech couldn't diagnose the engine problem cause they could get the car to start. (They drove the car into the shop and drove it up when I came to pick up the car after declining service because I felt that they were crooks after the service rep blatantly lied to me). So I paid the $160 diagnosis fee just to get a diagnosis of a problem I didn't have and with out a diagnosis of the problem I took my car in for? Lesson learn. Keep the $160 bucks Perillo. Its the last cent you'll ever get from me or anyone else whos looking to pay good money for anything. read more

I recently brought my car (purchased at Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville) in for routine service and while I was waiting for it to be buffed out (since you scratched it during the service call), I perused the showroom. You had a lovely brand new (2008) 3-series SUV on the floor at what appeared to be a truly reasonable price (what gives?!?!) but your employees are such stereotypical car salespeople that I really could never forgive myself if I purchased a car from you. Every sales transaction has been professional and fair. Vanessa has been selling me cars since Perillo was in their old location on Halstead! She is a pro, and easy to work with. The service department is also at the top of their game. Darin, AJ, and Stephan have taken extra time with complicated and challenging issues, and have always pulled through for me. Don't ever get your car repaired by J Cosmetic Services, Perillo BMW's on-site body shop. Last January, my front bumper became badly damaged when I hit a concrete parking block. The inspector(Jay) gave me an estimate of $500 for fixing it. I said yes, let's do it. Well a few days later, he called me to tell me the car will be ready for pickup by the end of the day and the total is $675. Of course, I reminded him of his $500 estimate. He then said that's just his labor charge and with needed parts and tax, the total came out to be $675. I battled him saying he initially said $500 for everything, and he eventually reluctantly gave in. However, I could tell there was a tone of anger in his voice during our conversation. Well, I picked up the car later that day and within a couple days, my power and heated mirrors mysteriously kept moving around continously while I drove. On Friday, I brought the car back in to Perillo and explained the problem. The same inspector for J Cosmetic Services said that this has nothing to do with the fixed bumper and Perillo Service needs to fix this, and then brought over the Perillo appointment setter (for a huge additional fee of course). I said no thanks. Then, on Saturday morning, my car wouldn't even start. What happened was the power mirrors kept moving around even after I shut the engine off and ended up completely draining my car battery. So I had no car to drive that weekend and on Monday, I had BMW roadside assistance jump start my car and afterwards, drove it to Chicago Import Service. They said my power mirror motor is malfunctioning and it will cost $1500 to replace it or $550 to just disconnect the power mirrors entirely. I chose to disconnect. I have a suspicous feeling that this additional $550 repair was all tied to J Cosmetic Services. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my BMW to Perillo for service. It was there a week because they didn't have the part I needed in stock. I come to pick it up, drive home and when I get out I noticed a scratch on the bumper. Of course, by this time, Perillo was closed for the day so, I called as soon as they opened the next day. I was told to bring it in and ask for Cesar...I did just that. Cesar acts like they would repair the scratch by calling over the guy who does body work. They have me wait an hour and half before telling me that the security tapes show that my car was "really dirty" when I dropped it off but somehow you could see the 2 inch scratch on the bumper in the tapes. They aren't going to repair it but would give me in house repair prices (lol). I asked to see the tapes. Cesar asks me to wait again and 20mins later he tells me that the IT guy is gone for the day...and to come back tomorrow. Classic run around lingo. Long story short. Stay far far away from perillo bmw service center. This customer liason person, Cesar, is a joke. Even though I live in the city, I'll be driving to Patrick BMW from now on. read more

Against better judgement and recommendations from many people I bought my 3 series from Perillo a while back. I had heard all the bad stories but decided "how bad can it be" when the dealership is literally just down the street from where I lived. After all it's that, or have to drive to the suburbs for service. I am so mad at myself that I didn't just buy from a suburban dealership, even with Perillo being just down the street, it's simply not worth the terrible service and attitude. My salesperson was a nice guy, but that's where it ends at this dealership. You only deal with the salesperson initially anyway, of course those guys are nice- they have to make a sale. At the service dept. it's hit or miss (usually miss). Sometimes you get good customer service, other times you get treated like they're doing you a HUGE favor by even allowing you to bring your car in. When I purchased the car, I didn't finance it so I had to have money wired into the dealership via their financing department. The gentleman in the financing dept. was so unprofessionally rude that my salesperson (who was very nice) had to apologize to me for him as he huffed and puffed, refused to look me in the eye and didn't shake my hand when I stuck it out to introduce myself. So many people out there need a job and somehow this guy has one. Really? My salesperson whispered "sorry about him, they get kinda testy when people don't use their financing, ya know how it goes." Nope, I don't know how it goes and I don't care. I"m a customer who just gave you my business. I should have walked out right then and there but foolishly I didn't. Seriously consider purchasing elsewhere unless you're a glutton for punishment. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR ANY SERVICE! My car has been at the dealership for 3 months following a realitively minor accident. The first time I tried to pick up the car they tried to hide a 3 inch scarch on the car that they made after the body work was completed. The second time I was told the that car was "ready" it was still making a horrendous noise. The third time I was told that the car was "ready" they left me for an hour waiting while they went to look for my car. Then I was told that it was still at the body shop. My quesiton is "How do they stay in business with such poor customer service and quality control?" It is an embarassment! read more

When I asked for the BMW-mandated $4500 Eco-Credit for buying a 335d, he paused and said he had to call me back. He then lowered the price another 2 grand without admitting that he had tried to pass off the Eco-Credit as a discount!!! I called back next week to find that Lou had "left the company." I was then assigned to Keith, who sent me 3 different emails with 3 different wrongly calculated final prices (I can do math too!). He said it was a computer error. Yeah, right! I then look at the offer and see an "Appearance Package" for $189 added to the cost. He told me it was for floor mats, a car detail, and for a tank of GAS. WHAT?! Shouldn't floor mats be a courtesy for a $40+ grand car?? I asked him to take it off and he said it was just their policy. I immediately called 4 other dealers who said they do nothing of the sort and put it in writing. When I went to get my $1000 deposit (from a credit card) back, a guy in the finance dept said "If your car has been ordered we have a problem." Really? Citibank will take care of that, thanks! They have no legal right to that money as I never got a car. Save yourself the trouble, seek your Bimmer in the suburbs, where they WANT your business and will EARN it!! read more

If I could give this God Awful place a negative 0 star I would. Perillo BMW service center is the worst service center in the car business. I owed a 3 series and currently have a X5. I had my truck dented, change stolen from my console; just a horrible place! It's really upsetting because I live in the downtown area and this is the only BMW dealership in the downtown Chicago area. I hate this place so much I traded my X5 in for an Audi Q7 so that I never have to deal with their service center again. I took my truck in for service only to discover the same issue happening again not to mention when they drove my truck out after being "so called repaired", I noticed a black scratch on the passenger side of my front bumper. I made the service adviser aware of the scratch and ask him if he knew how it could have happened, he suggested that it was there when I brought my truck in, he then told me he would review the cameras and have his manager call me on the next day...needless to say after 3 weeks I never heard from anyone at Perillo. My truck was under warranty and as I mentioned I left the services center that day having the same issue I had when I took my truck in for service. This was so frustrating to me I refused to go back to their service department. I drove to the suburbs to Laurel BMW of Westmont (this place is awesome by the way) and had them repair my truck. Perillo BMW has the absolute worst service center and I will NEVER recommend anyone do business with them. I REGRET ever buying a BMW because of the horrible service at Perillo. read more

This being my first luxury car purchase I didn't know what to expect. I was used to the high-pressure and sometimes dishonest used-car market and so I spent countless hours in research mode before I ever contacted a dealer. After contacting nine area dealers through e-mail requesting information on the model/packages I was looking for, Ken Reffsin from Perillo got back to me almost immediately with an offer that was excellent from what my research had told me. We e-mailed back and forth a few times on particulars, Ken always responding within an hour or so, and I finally agreed to come in and see two cars. Doing more research throughout the e-mailing I was surprised to find that there was nothing fishy going on... when Ken told me he was charging $X above invoice, that really was the case. Everything was transparent, right down to the leasing calculator whose output matched perfectly with the one I had built in excel. Ken in-person was the same as Ken in-e-mail - no pressure, extremely helpful, and very personable. I picked the car I liked but then decided to sleep on it. The next day I realized I wanted something different, something that Perillo didn't have. I relayed this to Ken who was able to quickly source the exact car I was looking for from a nearby dealer (one of the nine originals... this dealer never even responded to me). Despite me changing everything an hour before the deal was to go down, Ken was able to make it all happen. So, I'm back at the dealer, keys to the car I want in hand, ready to sign papers. I am dreading the next hour, as it is time to meet the finance manager - the person every website warns you about. Karrie Gradisher, the Finance Manager for my sale, was just like Ken... low pressure, helpful, and personable. She explained the optional coverages and didn't flinch or push when I told her I would decline them. The whole signing process was easy but not rushed and I walked out of her office feeling completely satisfied with my purchase. If you are in the Chicagoland area I would highly recommend Ken, and ask for Karrie to do the finance side - you will be surprised at how enjoyable the car buying experience can be (as it should when you are spending for a BMW)! read more
