We took our 3 series in for a tune up before the warranty expired. The service department went above and beyond, and really did a fantastic job on our car. Kelly in the service department was incredibly helpful and professional, and kept us updated on the status of our car. And Alan in the sales department went out of his way to ensure that the overall experience was handled with the utmost precision from beginning to end. We are pleased with the level of service offered here, and will return for future service as needed. Keep up the good work! read more

I recently to possession of a 2013 BMW M5 that I custom ordered through Perillo. At the same time, I traded in my 2008 M5. It was a long process, as I mentioned, I custom ordered the 2013 M5 and it took 3 months to get from Germany, which is standard. Well worth the wait I might add. I worked with Peter Mers in the sales department and he was fantastic. He kept me notified on all issues related to the transaction throughout the process. He guided me through the various departments that I had to deal with to do the transaction. He always answered his phone (even when on vacation!!) and took great care of me. The customer service was off the charts and he saved me a ton of time. I have bought several cars over the years and this was by far the best experience I have had. In addition to the good service I received from Peter, I got a smoking price on the custom ordered car. When we put the deal together, he went to bat for me with management and got it done. I took possession of the car about a month ago and had a refund check waiting for me at the dealership. In my opinion, typically, your sales person would forget about you and move on the the next deal at this point. Peter kept calling and emailing me to remind me to come get my check. He even came out to say hello and check out the car again, to make sure I was happy, when I finally made it there to pick up the check. He is good people and awesome to work with. read more

Brad (my service guy) and Alex (my tech guy) did an excellent job with the work they did to my vehicle. Although they had it for 10 days, it was mostly due to warranty having to come out! They gave me a nice loaner for 10 days, so I had nothing to complain about. Brad was great my first visit and also when I picked up the vehicle, and also Alex kept me in touch with everything that was going on with the vehicle. I would come back again because they did a great job and plus the loaners are always a plus. I've told my friends about my experience and I will definitly come back to get everything else done. Great job guys, keep doing what your doing, you have a lot of traffic and do a great job at managing it! -Fernando read more

Perillo needs a complete overhaul of its business model. It caters to a high quality product but lacks in customer service. I've seen the service department decline since the beginning of my lease. Lack of communication (not all service people lack communications skills, but most of them do) and timeliness is a huge problem. Almost seems like they don't care because they're the only show running in the city for BMW. Also I've had to ask numerous times to wash my damn car after it's been serviced. We pay good money to Perillo and the least they can do if wash the car. Next time I'll deal with Fields BMW if I get another car. Perillo has lost many good people and as a result, customer service is horrible. Makes your wonder why they've lost most of their good people. I hope they fix things, but from my experience, it's only getting worse. As I'm writing this, I just witnessed another pissed customer because they didn't wash the car after driving it out from service. Wow....Come on Perillo.....get it together! read more

Racist staff everyone before me was approached with an warm welcome and a smile. Once I was next everyone went back to their desk and no one assisted me. The only reason they are getting one star is because I can't give them no stars. No one approached me for 5 minutes as I pulled into the service department for a 1pm appointment. Once I was finally approached by someone they told me where to wait for my multi point inspection to be complete. After waiting for 20 minutes I had Perillo employee ask me what I was doing there. Perillo call me to schedule now no one here knows why I'm here and has no record of my appointment. I have gotten sub par customer service and no one seems to care. I have never felt more alienated disrespected and taken advantage of in my life. The whole service crew as sitting 5 feet from me at their desk talking to each other and didn't say a word. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years this reflects poorly on management and all staff training. read more

I did not purchase my BMW from Perillo but have used their service department on a few occasions, and they are very efficient and thorough in servicing my car. They are also very upbeat and friendly, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend Perillo. read more

I received a horrible customer service experience today at perillo bmw. 1st issue was that a few days before my appointment I called to find out about a maintenance plan and left a voicemail and no one ever called me back. 2nd issue was that my service rep Hubert was short with me and had a smart remark when I told him another mechanic said it was near impossible to run down brand new breaks in a year and 4 months. After all bmw is suppose to be a step above right! Wrong! I was then told it was my fault because I had put 20,000 miles on my car. Then after I agreed to have them look at my breaks despite being uneasy about his customer service I then went in to the service desk to inquire about the loaner and maintenance plan. She directed me to another room where they then told me to talk to the reps in an entirely different area. When I then went to that area he told me finance would actually be the ones to handle it and that they didn't come in until 10am. After much frustration I asked the service desk rep to ask the man to bring my car back down because I no longer even wanted their service. She told me to go tell the reps outside who take the cares up. After telling her no she proceeded to raise her voice and tell me to just go tell them. I explained that you never send a customer to do part of your job. She then finally called Hubert down and he tried to explain his self but at that point I was just done with the service. Having a bmw is all about the experience and the quality care and today bmw failed at both of those things. read more

I recently purchased a CPO 4 Series from Perillo BMW and had a nice and pleasant experience! All the staff were courteous and professional. In particular, Garrett Goldstein from the Sales Team who personally worked with me, has been extremely helpful, professional, and nice! I had to go back to Perillo a couple of times after my purchase for some follow ups and he enormously helped me set up my service appointments and always followed up with me before and after the appointment to make sure my visit went smoothly! I could not have asked for a better sales advisor than Garrett! read more

We had the most incredible experience at Perillo BMW with Sean Dwyer. My husband and I were not even expecting to find something perfect because we were in between a couple different models as well as specific specifications. When we went into the dealer we were greeted by some of the guys, and asked who we were looking for. We had a 'soft' appointment with the internet salesperson but he was super packed that night. Which ended up great for us because we met Sean. He was so personable and nice from the start. He wasn't pushy, he was even going to tell the guy we were waiting for but we decided we didn't need to talk to him. We were just looking to test drive some cars so we figured Sean could help us. He quickly led us to test driving without many questions so we liked his style. Sean is a great salesman because he doesn't push and try to sell what he wants. He's honest about the different advantages/specs of each model and gives you what you want. We quickly connected with Sean and he found an exact car that we wanted, and did the best he could to reach our ideal payments, we are so grateful! read more

Thanks to Jason Neagu and staff for working with me to get the exact car I wanted at the price I was comfortable with. I was pleased with your professionalism and customer service. I LOVE my new BMW! I wholeheartedly recommend this dealership. read more

Wonderful experience at Perillo BMW. This was only my second time buying a car and I was extremely nervous. Jason Neagu was absolutely amazing and so patient. I had a few questions and even got cold feet for a split second and started to second guess the car I was going to purchase. I asked him if I could test drive one more vehicle before making my final decision. He was so polite and assured me it wasn't a problem to get the other car ready for a test drive. Of course, after test driving the other vehicle, I went back to my original decision and bought the one I had previously chosen. We asked questions regarding warranties, financing, etc., Jason was quick to respond and extremely knowledgeable. When it came down to trying to decide between two different vehicles, Jason had no problem running numbers for us on both so we could make the best decision possible about what would be financially comfortable for us. Overall, I couldn't be happier and will definitely recommend Jason/Perillo BMW to my friends and family! read more

Took my car in for yearly service. A $650 "Type 1" service, oil change etc. The service light was on. Another $900 for a back up air pump, or some story. I complete those service surveys and express disappointment. Coincidentally I get an email from Joe Perillo seeing if there had been any follow up in explaining my bill to me. Lo and behold Bob the "personal service advisor" calls me. He tells me I have good news BMW is going to cover the back up pump as it is an extended warranty part. An $800 credit. He calls me back 2 hours later and says no $800 credit. I missed it by 30 days. Sure that's disappointing but you tell someone they're going to get a credit and then call them back and say "sorry." That's bad business. So I left a message with Israel Rodriguez, the service manager and with Joe Perillo. Guess what neither have responded...no surprise there. Fortunately my cousins husband works for BMW USA in Cherry Hills, NJ. read more

I called to schedule an appointment to buy a car about a month ago and still waiting for their phone call. So, after reading all the reviews I know why. read more

I came accross yelp and Perillo BMW reviews and felt the need to provide my horrible experiences with their service department and dishonest practice. This goes back a while but my points are still very valid. I have never gone back to them for service and I never will for even a new car purchase. Few things I want to point out to everyone. When you take your car to this dealer, make sure you inspect the car inside out and document the condition before handing over your car to them to get it serviced (better yet, take pictures of your car). When you pick up the car, look around your car and make sure no damage has been done to the car while it was getting serviced!!! On two different occasions, I took my brand new BMW for service and they damaged the car AND didn't admit to their mistakes. In one occasion, they damaged the interior with multiple blue ball point pen markings around the imola red leather center console and imola red leather driver seat. I pointed out the damage and only then they said sorry and that they will get it fixed. Then after getting that fixed, they damaged the exterior of the car. They must've took the car for a joy ride because it had over 11 miles on it and the rear bumper was damaged and was hanging from the frame when I went to pick it up. What was absolutely appalling was that the service manager tried to hand over the car back to me without mentioning the damage. If I drove the car off their lot, I would've been stuck with the damage. Damage was so obvious. I was so upset with the damage I found, I yelled at them and demanded to know who damaged my car and what they will do to rectify the problem. Only after I told them that I will sue and get my lawyer involved, they finally apologized and said they will fix it up. However, my car was never the same. They replaced and repainted the bumper but I think there was a structure damage to the car due to rear impact damage. I wanted them to get it checked but they refused saying that body/frame was ok. I didn't notice the problem until years later when I noticed that my driver side rubber seals between the door and door frame were rubbing against one another and wearing off and the passenger side was fine. I think the impact pushed the body/frame slightly. Of course, I cannot prove this so I 'm just SOL. I wrote to BMW USA but nothing happened and I was very disappointed with the entire experience. So to everyone that uses or plan to use Perillo BMW services, make sure you inspect your car before and after, especially if you car is M. Personally, I will NEVER get my car serviced by them ever again OR buy another car from them. They lost my trust. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. It's a perfect example of what happens when there's NO competing dealership in a major metropolitan area. After five years of having my car serviced there, I'd had enough of incomplete or substandard work and lousy service. Full disclosure: I did not buy my BMW from Perillo, but have paid thousands of dollars over the years for "service". I finally took my car to a certified BMW mechanic outside the dealership, and after he looked over the car, pronounced the vehicle in a state that was, in his words, "an insult to the trade". For starters, my engine cover was missing from the last time it was serviced. Here's just a sampling of their wretched work: 1. Wires that govern the headlight elevation (which I've had problems with) had been placed below a plastic housing below the light after Perillo told me they couldn't fix the problem. 2. A battery light that had been on for almost a year that Perillo could never find the a problem for turned out to be an undercharged alternator that was shot by the time my mechanic looked at it. 3. To top it all off, no record in the onboard computer of any maintenance performed over the last few years, even though the car had been to Perillo numerous times. My guess is that they didn't want their fingerprints on the car and could deny that it had ever been touched by them. 4. Once, I had the car's fluids changed, and half an hour after I left the dealership, coolant was pouring out of the bottom of the car. My "service advisor" Angelo asked me what I'd done to the car since I left the dealership, to which I answered, "I drove it." Suffice to say their monopoly on BMW sales in the city is almost Soviet-like in its incompetent and downright underhanded service department. Every time I see slick Joe Perillo on TV I want to throw up. read more

First off, ANYONE writing a good review for this place is a plant. They have to be, a FEW buddies of mine all left this place because it is terrible. Coincidence? Yeah, okay....NOT. Perillo service department is horrible, folks. Brought my ride in there about 3-4 times. Customer service team appear to smile and are friendly (to a certain extent) but actual work/service stinks and isn't thorough. To be honest, either they were incompetent (yes) to fix the issue or they just flat out got tired of trying to figure it out (probably both). They "supposedly" fixed the issue TWICE, and one of the times I didn't even make it to Ontario Street before the SAME issue acted up again (ONTARIO STREET, that's LESS than a mile from their shop, folks). You would think that would have a loaner for me since this is like the 3rd time they disappointed me/saw me upset, didn't properly fix my issue, and further inconvenienced me. They claim that they have a long list for loaners but did nothing to make me feel like a valued customer. Yes, they said that they will pay for a car rental (2 days) of a PT cruiser or a Hyundai :-? . Not a snob, but if I pay top dollar for a vehicle I want the added amenity of staying in said luxury while my car is being repaired; at least upgrade me to luxury rental, don't be cheap. lol I'm used to dealing with luxury service departments that put you in THEIR loaners. Needless to say that I had to find another BMW dealership to get my vehicle properly serviced/fixed. Laurel BMW has a great service department and customer service. They diagnosed the problem in an hour and had me on my way with a NICE loaner which gave me convenience of keeping the vehicle until the weekend [about 2.5 days] so I didn't have to go back out there the next day. CONVENIENCE & COMPETENCE. I told them that I was interested in upgrading my vehicle and they put me in that newer model as a loaner. Sweet. So if you absolutely cannot go anywhere else and want to overlook being overcharged then I guess Perillo is for you, but I value my ride and my TIME. They get "1-Star" from me because you have to rate them. I just wanted to enlighten other Chicago BMW owners about my experience(s). Hopefully Perillo sees this as an opportunity to improve their service and work. read more

I just purchased a new 2012 X5 today from Sean Dwyer. In fact - this is the 3rd car I've purchased from Sean (I do 3 year owners choice plans - this is my 3rd) and I've worked with Sean each time. This was not your "typical" new car purchase. We worked together over email/phone after I decided on the car I wanted - and the entire transaction was very pleasurable. I went in to pickup - signed the papers - then got the full overview and grand tour from Sean. He knows these cars extremely well - and is always available for me via phone/text/or email. I would recommend anyone coming in to look at a new car to speak with Sean right off the bat. He is a straight shooter and will do his best to help you out quickly. Well, I've not heard good things about this dealership from anyone, but oddly enough, my experience has been pretty good. Battery Registration/Synch; I recently replaced the battery on my BMW on my own. For some reason or another, on newer BMWs, its recommended that whenever a battery is replaced, it should be taken to the dealer for them to synch it with your car's computer system. This has been debated on Bimmer forums, but that's another matter for another day. Anyway, I called Fields BMW for a quote and they estimated around $215.00. Not to change the battery, simply to synch it with the car. I called Perillo BMW and they quoted me around $165. Dropped it off in the morning and got a call to pick it up later in the evening. The final bill was only $85.00, which was half of what they quoted me and 1/4 of what Fields quoted. So, needless to say, I was pretty happy about that. Free key fob Battery Replacement. A few years ago I ordered a new key fob and a replacement battery for my existing key fob. They only charged me for the new key fob and threw in a free battery for my old/existing key fob. Was not expecting that. Overall, I've had a good experience with them so I can't complain, but I won't deny that it seems that a lot of other Yelp members have not had the same luck. read more

I purchased a used 2011 335 Xdrive from Perillo in 12/11. Being from out of town, I was nervous about going 5 hours away to purchase a car. And after seeing the comments listed here, I was even more nervous. It appears as though many of the negative comments listed are related directly to the Service Department. Living and servicing the car in another city means this would not/will not be an issue with which I will have to deal. My city has somewhat of a limited used BMW inventory, so I decided to expand my search to include cities within a 5 hour drive. I found that Perillo had a good used car selection, and I quickly found a 335 that was worth pursuing. I called the Sales Manager, who answered on my first try, and we worked out a purchase amount within 5 minutes. I filled out the credit app online, and all paperwork was overnighted to me to sign. After the 5 hour trip to Chicago, I arrived anxious and nervous, to find that my 335 had been pulled up front - freshly detailed and gas tank full. My sales rep, Sean Dwyer, was straight forward and no nonsense. He had everything ready to go. I spent 5 minutes on final paperwork, went for a test drive, and then I drove home. It really couldn't have been easier. The car was accurately described, clean, and exactly what I wanted - there were no surprises. I had a great purchase experience, and would reco purchasing a car from Sean at Perillo. The Service Department or other sales reps, I can't speak for. read more

While shopping around, I thought I'd give Perillo a call since they appeared to have some good stuff in their inventory. I first spoke with Chris Shanahan over the phone, and right away she was friendly, helpful, and happy to work with me solely over phone & email - no pressure tactics, no "why don't you come in and sit down with us"...just a very genuine "sounds great!" She responded to my emails literally within 5 minutes of my sending them - I've found prompt communication like this to be rare, and greatly appreciate it. She introduced me to Alan Sahagian, who was just as quick with the communication and friendly. Right off the bat, Alan sent me a detailed list of cars that perfectly met my requirements, and included very competitive offers for all of them - no haggling or pressure. I've found it interesting to note that there are a large number of Perillo customers here, and at other review sites, that have had huge problems with Perillo BMW. Sure, these review sites attract their share of negative reviews - I myself have never been one for writing reviews of businesses. But it's interesting to note that Perillo has the lowest rating of any BMW dealer in Chicagoland. The rest of the dealers are rated four or five stars, with Perillo at two or less. And the story from Scott P. where Perillo has a lawyer demanding he remove his car from their service center? Or how about the one where a current BMW owner is refused a test drive because he "isn't buying today". The fish always stinks from the head down. This dealer is not doing any good for BMW USA. The employees in the service center and body shop have always been friendly and helpful. But, last time I brought my car in I got a parking ticket in the mail a few days later. While I was talking to an employee about scheduling a loaner inside, someone had parked my car in front of a fire hydrant out front. When I talked to the Customer Liaison, he said "we'll see if we can work something out." That turned into him "just trying to understand what happened" and essentially accusing me of lying. After literally 6-weeks of emails, phone calls, and multiple assurances that they would get back to me, they finally paid for the ticket. To this day, not a single person has apologized for ticket or for the subsequent hassle and arguments. From now on, I will happily drive to the suburbs to get my car fixed out there. First of all, it's no coincidence that Perillo has essentially ZERO positive reviews online. I did buy a car from Perillo and it is an understatement to say it was disappointing. Instead of ranting about how terrible my experience was, i'll just put down a few cliff-notes: (1) Please don't pay for the JComestics detail service: It's a costly joke. I had my car detailed and couldn't tell what i paid so much money for. I also literally had to remove all the left-over wax in every crevice (hood, doors, tail lights, trunk, etc). (2) If you take your car in (which i would avoid), please get your camera (turn on the timestamp feature) and document your car before turning it in. There is bound to be a cosmetic dimples/scratch/bruise when you get the car back. (3) I was told every blemish on the car would be taken care of by the time i took delivery. Right. Instead it was delivered at night :) Don't take their word for it. Treat them like your low-budget corner used car lot. (4) If you're looking to buy a car from them (which i would again - with MUCH CAUTION), you can't blink! You HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. check EVERYTHING. Then double-check. Perillo's customer experience is not worthy of a luxury car dealership, so treat them like you're corner lot dealer. (5) In my opinion, Perillo is not organized, doesn't pay attention to detail, etc. YOU need to counter-balance these deficiencies. Good luck! ps.. Of course it would be disengenious if all i saw was negative, so here's a positive: It's quite a treat going up to the second floor and watching how they maneuver the cars up and down that garage. Certainly not for the faint of heart!! :) read more
