Over the last 14 years we bought 7?Honda's from this dealer. We always had such a great experience with Performance Honda. So when my wife had an urgent need for a new car we called them first. We were surprised and deeply disappointed to see how they have changed, and not for the better. Everyone from top to bottom (including Mark the General Manager) cared nothing about our loyalty over the years. They were downright rude, with a "take it or leave it" attitude. When we tried to provide feedback the response was "you can get your car at another dealer". Unfortunately they were the only one that had the color she wanted to we reluctantly bought it. It will be our last. I am surprised that Honda let's dealers treat their best customers this way. This is how great companies and brands get destroyed. read more

So, I have to share a SCAM I got involved with. Its with a national company, but involved a local company (Hamilton/Fairfield/Cincinnati?WC/Mason) as well. WARNING It's long, but worth the read! So I have been in Restaurant Management for 20+yrs and decided maybe its time for a change if I am able to find something that pays as well. I put my Resume out there and got a call from several people. 1 of which was Performance Auto Group. Specifically Lexus/Honda. I went to the interview and was told 80% of applicants had been turned down. I got a letter saying Congratulations you got the Job. I was to report to Performance Honda in Fairfield to start a 3 day 9:45am-4pm, Wed-Fri Orientation & Training. I was ready to sell me some cars, lol. Training was going great. They showed us how we were to make $$ and how it all worked and basic intro to sales. There was 7 of us there. Supposedly after further review 23 people of the 30 they were looking to hire did not meet the criteria. So, day 2. Same more training. At the end of class we were told that per Performance Auto Group Standard practice, we were required to pay cash on day 3 $195. "To show them we are serious & committed to Superior" This was to cover, Background, bonding, drug screen if needed. We were told by our trainer as well as Dave a sales manager for Honda after 60 days of employment we would get that back. They didn't want to invest in us if we weren't willing to share the risk, as they get a lot of people that dont stay or cant do it. Day 3, same thing more training. We were told that after lunch the manager from Kings Lexus and Fairfield Honda wanted to speak to all of us, because they were fighting over who got who. I was told along with another lady that me and her were going to Lexus the others would stay at Honda. We where told We would speak with them and goto Lexus or stay there and get to know our manager and the dealership and go over further training and schedules for the following week. When the managers came into the room, the guy who did our interviews and orientation, Cliff Howard, that says he worked for/with Performance for 14yrs and selling cars a total of 40+ yrs, brought us a piece of paper and since we were in a group discussion, he briefly said here is your receipt and & contract for your $$ and it basically says we work there 60 days and get a refund. this was hand written and highlighted, so stupidly we all signed it. He picked them up right away so he "wouldn't interrupt our meeting with our managers" and would bring us back a copy. So we learn in this meeting that NINE of what we were told was true. Cliff Howard works for a company called Automax that does sales training for dealer and that we had NO job. We were doing brief interviews right there and was to come back Tuesday 5/28 to do an interview 1 of 2 or 3 and if all was good we may be offered a job, but all 7 wouldnt get it as there never was that many positions. Dave then tells us we knew ahead of time when we met Cliff that this was the deal and agreed voluntarily to go thru this in efforts to make us be a better option for the dealer. We were told by Cliff Howard in a group that he didn't agree with how Performance did it, but that before we talked to our managers that 3rd day we had to pay that money to them or they were not interested in continuing employment and we could go home. So as we exit the room me and a few others realize we been scammed the others are still in lala land over the 100k they were told they would make. Cliff Howard was GONE! He left a copy of our signed receipts that were not receipts at all. It was a contract for sales training that states has nothing to do with Performance and was not a guarantee of a job. I get home and get to google and type in automax and 1rst 7 links rip off report/scam/fraud etc. every sight has same story I just told. Even the stories the guy told us of his experience and customers that bought from the guy he hired last month that got 2 cars as he was a Bengals player or whichever team or sport fit in whatever town they ran the scam. It was even a on the national news. I find out that the dealers know about this as they get free recruiting and training to help facilitate this. I have told Preformance they are responsible to get my $$ back. I told them I withdrew from consideration. I think they was shocked, because I probably would have got hired, but I wont work for someone that takes part in that. Automax hasn't returned my emails or calls. I will find out from a few others in the morning what happens when/if they show up as we were asked to do in the morning. read more

This dealership does not take their job seriously and feel like they can talk to anybody any which way. Over the weekend, I went to Performance Honda to look at different models of Hondas. I was in a bad situation with a car I had recently been suckered into (literally) and could no longer afford the car in terms of gas, mileage, etc. I was unsure if anyone could help me, and frankly worried to have to go through the process again. But, I was under the pressure of needing to at least try and get myself out of that car and into something that would be overall a better choice. We went on a Friday after work (around 6PM) and walked around the dealership. I was pretty interested in Civics, so I had my mind set on trying for that. After spending some time in the lot, we went inside the dealership, having appreciated that no one approached up to try and get us into anything just yet. Once inside, we were greeted by the front desk staff who was very kind, as well as those around the office. All of which asked if we needed any help, but we declined it as we looked around some more at the cars on the show room floor. Once we were done looking, we were approached by Ken Powell. We, again, were reluctant to tell our story but he insisted on listening so we told him. He showed us some possibilities, and made an appointment for us to see him the next day (we didn't have my car with us). We returned on the appointment time and met with Ken again. He worked with us for many hours and helped me into a new vehicle. I was very impressed as well as very pleased. I am very happy and feel very safe in my new Accord (went with this over a Civic) and am so glad that I got the chance to meet Ken and I can't thank him enough for all he, all of the people at Performance Honda, did for me. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation The next day i noticed my tires had not been rotated (I scraped the rim on a curb two months after purchase and it was still in the same spot). I called and the guy in service who answered said Dan Beahr (the service manager) was in a meeting but he was next in charge. I explained the situation to him and he told me the tires were not rotated because they were brand new and didn't need it, that they must have forgotten to remove it from the bill. He then told me that he would refund the $20 +/- but the receptionist would call me when she became available... She never called... That was Monday. I called again that Friday and Dan was available. I told him the same story and he said he hadn't a clue why the tires were not rotated, but offered to rotate them if i brought my vehicle in. I told him it was a waste of my time to drive 30 minutes to get something done that i had already paid for to be done previously, and was told it would be refunded. He then told me that he couldn't refund my money until he looked at the car. ???? So I'm going in to see if they can redeem themselves tomorrow (i doubt it but we'll see) and I'll update accordingly. read more

I brought my 2005 Honda Accord in to have the squealing brakes fixed. I brought the car in at 8:30 Am. They did not even look at the car until I called at 4:30 Pm. I was told that it would be ready before they closed at 6PM. At 5pm they called to say that they did not have shims to finish the job. I was told that the car could be taken home but the car would still squeal in turns. I would have to wait unit Monday to finish despite the fact that the service department was open on Saturday. I Monday I waited until 4:30 pm for the service department. I finally called and was told "sorry, I forgot to call and we did not get the shims and you have to wait until Tuesday, which is the day I finally got. This service department did not care about servicing my car promptly. This was very poor "performance" and I cannot recommend them for service based on this experience. MRW read more

After working with a historically difficult local dealer, I expected that I may or may not even get my oil changed, but i'd try anyway. I'm pleased to report it was not only possible, but I was able to get right in and out in less than 30 minutes. Well done everyone, I love when things just work like they should. I would like to say I had a great experience, uh NO! I asked if I could have the car for 2 hrs to test drive it so my mechanic could look at it. They said sure, that's fine. I'm not even gone 20 mins. and they call me, hey bring it back we've got customers here that want to test drive it. OMG REALLY???!!! They KNOW I just PAID a mechanic to check it out, I would consider that a pretty strong buying cue. So, I get back and confront them about how rude it is to call in the customer who got there first, paid a mechanic, and was prequalified! Then I was told I was being rude and if I didn't stop they didn't want to do business with me!!!! He said he already apologized to me, I said well that's the first I've heard of it. And his next statement was basically you can leave bc you're being rude. And, I was told it was the MANAGER who told the salesman to call me to bring it back! Unbelievable. I don't think they really want customers there. This place needs new management. read more

After a customer agrees on a price and informs the dealer that they are preapproved for financing it should not take an additional two hours to purchase a used vehicle. Sean Gruber who was our finance manager took forty minutes to call us back to his office, only to secure us the same rate we already had. When we finally mentioned we were making a down payment, he went off to his manager and miraculously came back with a slightly lower rate after sitting for twenty minutes in his office. When I informed him we would stick to our original financing he was annoyed and in fact never shook mine or my wife's hand after the transaction. Our salesman Brock Weldy was extremely nice, but the rest of the team was awful. We have made it a point to let friends and family know to steer clear of this dealership. read more

I absolutely love my 2008 Honda Accord V6. It has 165,000 miles and is serviced regularly. Never have we had any problems with the car. Recently we knew we needed some considerable service needs and Nicole at Performance Honda was exceptional in explaining what work needed to be done. She gave us an estimate, a loaner car, and sent us on our way confident that all would be well. It certainly was. The car is humming along perfectly. I first walked into Honda and the lady at the front desk was sweet as pie, i loved her energy she got me to the first person available. His name was Ryan Dorsey. I tried to tell him why i was there and that i wanted to check out cars but as soon as i told him i would be purchasing in August when i graduate college his whole demeanor changed. He acted like he really didn't want to help us and that we were wasting his time. He wasn't happy to help us and it was clear. He assumed i didn't have credit and told me how i could get credit and a credit score. I asked him about discounts for military since I'm former military and i am a student he threw in my face that i wouldn't be purchasing until August so he didn't know. He was very unprofessional in how he talked and i would never go to him again. read more

Scheduled my service for oil change, wiper replacement, and passenger side mirror replacement. I was told that they would check to see if it was in stock. Never received a call so I assumed it was. My first mistake. Arrived for service and the mirror was not there. Was told it would be ordered that day and it would take a week to come from California and they would call me. No call. Two weeks later I called and the mirror was never ordered. Was told another week and it would be in. One day less than two weeks later I called and it "had just come in". Was told one hour of time to install and it took two. I will drive an hour away the next time I need service and WILL NEVER PURCHASE A HONDA AGAIN. read more

Sales lady was not friendly at all and seemed angry about the fact I brought my own financing. I was told the vehicle was ready to go to auction if not purchased soon. So I asked what they would take for the car. She said I can get you maybe $150 off but that's it. So I asked her if she could go check. I received an attitude reply of "I've done this for 7 years I know what he will take". It wasn't even about the money because the price of the vehicle was already good. If the Jeep was for me or my wife I would have walked, but since it was for my son I bought it (just from the sales manager himself). I'm sure he still gave her the commission. read more

The things they said needed to be done had nothing to do with correcting the problem. They thought they had one because I'm a woman. Wrong wrong wrong!!! I scheduled an appointment online to have my oil changed and tires rotated. I requested that the service been completed in 1 hour and they said that shouldn't be a problem at all. The employee said there was a recall on the top brake light of my car. Said it would be an extra 30 minutes... no problem. I waited 2.5 hours and they didn't do they recall because they didn't have the part. An employee asked me to put a mask on. 75% of their employees weren't wearing masks. I asked them NOT to wash the car because I just washed it 2 days before, and they did it anyway. Only go here if you have nothing to do for the entire day. Very hypocritical telling me to wear a mask (which I did) while their employees didn't. Poor experience here. My family has purchased many vehicles from performance. If my experience is the same when I go back for the recall, it will be a cold day in hell before I shop there ever again. Also when I went out to the service center there were mechanics standing around talking, laughing, not working or wearing a mask. I'm not the mask police but don't tell me to do something if you aren't going to do it. Find somewhere else to go if you're in a hurry because you will NOT be in and out quickly. Terrible experience. OUTSTANDING. I was blown away by how terrific everyone was at Performance Honda. I've been to countless dealerships in my life and shortly after I walk in I usually know if it's the right place for me or not. The second I walked into Performance they had this comfortable and genuine way about them. Backing up a bit, my husband and I have been in the market for new cars for a while and decided on the Pilot. We traded in our cars and purchased two 2014 Honda Pilots. Brendan -who I HIGHLY recommend seeing if your looking for a car-made our experience wonderful- He is very down to earth and easy to work with. I'm really not one to write reviews, but I felt strong enough about how great everything was at Performance Honda that I had to. We had our kids with us the whole time- and everyone working there was SO good to them-and us! We got an incredible deal- and best of all- I not only felt great about our purchase but also supporting a dealership who treated us with respect, kindness, and genuine care. We're still feeling a bit confused with our experience this evening. I made an appointment to see / test drive a used vehicle. when we arrived the car had been pulled inside and our sales person was somewhat helpful but didn't know the answers to service questions we had after reading the CarFax report . We noticed that they had resurfaced the front rotors but didn't replace the brake pads and had replaced the back brake pads but not the rotors. They put 2 new tires on the front that didn't match the back tires, which looks terrible. After the test drive we came back and told them that we really like the car and would buy it tonight but we would want the brakes FIXED, not a patch job, and we wanted tires that match, at least the same brand. We were told that they were not going to do anything to car at the price they had quoted us (internet price) and they just walked away. I think they probably could have offered to do the repair and add to the cost to the car or at least offer to help find us another car. No hand shake or anything. They made us feel like we were a "NEXT". Can you imagine if they treat a potential buyer like this how would they would you after you bought a car. When I went into get an oil change today, I was not aware that Saturday's require an appointment. I pulled up to the service garage and waited five minutes, and the door still had not opened. A car pulled up into the lane next to me and the door immediately opened, causing two people to get service before me. When I finally did get inside of the garage, I was not greeted by the one person sitting at the desk. I had to walk up to the service gentleman and initiate the conversation before asking for aid. He did not mention about an appointment until I had finished explaining why I came into the store. He was extremely rude, and very unpleasant to deal with. He did not even apologize for my inconvenience in driving all the way there only to learn I could not even get my car worked on. read more

I had looked at a Toyota SUV on a Monday and made an appointment to see it again the next day. I called the salesperson Tuesday morning to confirm our appointment was still on, and he confirmed we were all set. I arrived Tuesday afternoon and test drove the SUV and took it in to a local mechanic to do a general inspection. The car had a slight oil leak and was going to be pricey to fix because of its location. I went back to the dealer to negotiate the price of the vehicle, considering it needed a pricey fix. When I arrived back at the dealership, I was directed to the used car sales manager. He informed me that he was aware of the needed fix, although it was not disclosed in the listing, and that the price would not be negotiated. Then he informed me that the neighboring sister dealership, performance Toyota, had just purchased the SUV that day! He offered me the same price to match the offer from performance Toyota. I asked for proof that they sister dealership had purchased the car for the said price. He flatly refused to offer any proof. This dealership used its sister dealership, which it also owns, to bid up the price for the car. What a disgrace. read more

I told this salesman not to run my credit because I already have an approval from bank and that I'm buying a house and never wanted my credit pulled again even if dealer offering 0% rate. That being said, I test drive the car and had them speak with my bank and finalize the payment. Few minutes later I received a call from the salesman saying they've gotten everything they needed from my bank and that I should comeback pick the car. Again, the finance guy came to me to talk about financing with Honda as I reiterated that my bank is financing the car and never would want anyone to run my credit at this time. The sales rep and finance guy both said no no we won't run your credit since we have received everything from your bank. Four days after, I got a call from my mortgage financing company saying I was no longer qualified for a loan because my credit was hard pulled by some PERFORMACE place. Immediately, I called the dealership to ask why they would pull my credit without authorizations or consent?? What the rationale was? WAS I BEING PROFILED FOR BUYING A BRAND NEW CAR?? Why would such happen after reiterated severally? I have contacted my lawyer and a case is being developed. Also, there's an audio of the manager conflicting himself. read more

Caution when booking service online. I appears that you will be able to schedule, even if there is no appointment available. I booked online a week prior and picked the first available. However, I never received confirmation or denial of my appointment. When I called to confirm, they were too booked to do an oil change. I went to Valvoline, for service.
