Recently, my wife and I called Matt at Main St. Plumbing via a referral from one of our good friends. We were trying to decide whether to replace our 25 year old Jacuzzi shower pan that had cracked (due some underbelly softening), or to get it repaired and resurfaced via a fiberglass redo, and just have a new drain and seals put in. After chatting with Matt (via a phone consult) and sending him some pictures, it became quite evident that the original drain pipe seals, crown nut (missing), and surrounding flange seal had failed. That has most likely caused the under-pan softening (water damage) and eventual cracking. While that isn't great news, knowing this information (based upon Matt's expertise), has prevented us from spending a couple thousand dollars trying to repair and resurface the fiberglass pan only to have the cracking problem reappear (i.e. a waste of money). Matt was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and had seen this problem before... As such, he was able to guide us in the right direction. We will surely be using his plumbing services after we get the old shower pan removed and replaced with a new one. Thank you Matt for sharing your valuable expertise with us. Much appreciated!

A year later the tank less water heater had a major failure, it began screeching and was expelling large amounts of water from a drain pipe. This happened at 7 pm. We called Matt and he immediately called back,he walked me though how to shut it off and re route the water so we had running cold water. There was no charge. He went the extra mile even on a major component he did not install, and saved us a lot of hassle. I highly recommend Main Street Plumbing because Matt routinely goes the extra mile for his customers. Matt takes care of his people. In contrast when we called the company who installed it, they would not call back that evening unless we paid the high emergency rate.

We called yesterday morning when we noticed our AC was not kicking on and they were able to get a tech out today! Butch arrived on time and was friendly as could be. He wasted no time jumping in and trying to diagnose the problem. He went through everything he could think of, figured it out, and advised us of best solutions. We never felt pressured or unsure of the decisions we were making. He also pointed out things to keep an eye on, as they appeared to be going bad or outdated, but again, never once did he push for us to buy or do anything now. He was also honest with us about replacing the unit altogether (yes, you're thinking he wants us to spend the money and they make it), but the unit is 32 years old with a life expectancy of 20, soo he's not wrong. Beyond suggesting a new unit he priced out different components that we could replace, as we wanted to, in order to squeeze as much life out as we could. We were already considering replacing, so he helped us set up a no obligation consultation later this week. And honestly, if not for the service and respect we've been shown, we'd consider shopping around more, but this family owned company has earned our business and trust for years to come! I feel that you can tell a lot about a company by talking to the person who answers the phone. Amber quickly inspired confidence in my choice of choosing this company to contact. She answered the phone immediately, was professional and listened to me carefully. She set up an appointment when Tony could visit. And she explained Tony would text me the day of the appointment with the window of time he would be arriving. Love organized and efficient. As per his word, Tony texted me and gave me a 4 to 5:00 p.m. window and showed up on time. For the next hour Tony evaluated the situation by getting a very close look at the problem area. He then went up into the attic for a closer inspection. When he came back he had pictures on his phone and explained what was going on. As it turns out there is an open area in the roof where rain water can get in. This likely created the spot that has now formed. He said it was fixable and would send me an estimate via email. If I agreed with the estimate, I would be added to his schedule. (Luckily this is a very slow leak and the ceiling spot is small.) Tony was professional, knowledgeable, and I was very pleased with choosing him out of many other people. The estimate was received the next morning! I absolutely felt it was fair and reasonable. He is a popular guy. I have a month's wait. As an aside: My neighbor was present during Tony's visit. He was so impressed with Tony that he asked for his business card. He insisted we were being hosed and simply replaced the outside compressor and our bill was $5000. Our utility bills have gone down by 40 percent. Upon completion I was texted by the owner for an increase of 300.00 It was more of a demand unprofessional text. I was thrown off by the aggressive text but in the spirit of being non combative agreed to pay the 1,500.00 Not even a half hour later I was given an invoice for almost 1,700.00. When I questioned it I was told I was a crybaby and that if I didn't pay it they would come strip everything off my property. Alpine Air installed a minisplit system in our new home, including an outside condenser and two…read morehead units. They did such a poor job that we ended up having to have it redone by a different company a year later. The condensate line PVC installed in the walls was muddy. It looked like it had been lying around in their yard. My husband replaced it with new PVC. Jason drilled random holes in our studs, then realized they were in the wrong place and redrilled. So now our studs that are supposed to support the house look like swiss cheese. He used the wrong size connection to the condenser line. He used electrical fittings to connect the split unit to the condensate line, not fittings that are meant for water. This is a huge leak risk inside a wall. He used a 3/4" roofing nail to attach the condenser to the concrete pad. We're in a very windy area and the whole thing could have easily blown over. There were greasy fingerprints all over the wall and several fins were crushed during the install. We had it cleaned by another local company and they tried their best to straighten out the fins but there was only so much they could do. The unit was also mounted too close to the side wall than installation instructions say, so that it was difficult to work on when we had a third company out to fix all the problems from Alpine's install. Everyone says go to Alpine. Maybe they had a different experience or maybe they're just not as picky about the details of the install. But Alpine is the one contractor in the area that I would never call again if my life depended on it.

We say we need it by Friday and her response " Tomorrow is July 3- Friday, we are closed !" Suffice it to say it is now August and we have NEVER even gotten out quote. FORGET THESE Thanks for your response. In all fairness to us we should have been told that your quote was going to take over two weeks to receive. If someone knows that upfront then in most cases it's fine- you have managed your customers' expectations. We have moved on.
