We wanted to buy local, so we bought two ovens and a microwave from Edwards when we remodel our kitchen. Their initial service was great. But a few months after installation, the under light went out on the microwave. A few days later the whole control panel quit. I called them and they came out in a timely manner and changed out the chip or whatever was needed for the panel, but the tech said he didn't know about the light. Multiple calls later, two techs came back, but couldn't figure out the problem with the light. That was months ago. We've called twice since, and are still waiting for answer. Don't waste your time with this Business. I Bought a microwave oven 1 mo ago from Edwards. The oven was a display model so I asked about the warranty, Krista told me at the time of purchase all warranties are done in house, just call us if there's a problem. The door handle cracked a week later. I called and spoke to Krista, she said she would order one and call me when she gets it. That was a month ago. I called again to follow up, no call back! I decided to call GE, they told me all warranties go through GE not the store. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Edward's A-1 after giving up on a LG-built Kenmore Elite died for the second time in 4.5 years. Whirlpool had a much better reputation based upon online reviews and especially various repair people that had been to our house for a variety of needs, with one of them strongly recommending Edwards A-1. Other research online also seemed to indicate more issues with other major brands, as well as some spotty and careless customer service and installations, especially when provided by a big box store. Katie at Edwards was very patient with our status inquiries as we waited for over a year for Whirlpool to recover from a hit to their manufacturing due to the Pandemic. She was very knowledgeable and performed under what I'm certain was a year of all-around stress as many customers were in our same "pending" situation. She was honest, as well, relating to information received from Whirlpool. She and others were friendly and efficient in looking up the status, contacting Whirlpool as necessary, and calling us back when necessary. Ultimately, the fridge arrived and Edwards promptly installed it at our home. In short, the installation staff were on time, very professional, quick and efficient, and, without a doubt, the most careful, thorough, and detailed appliance installation we've ever experienced. They answered questions and allowed us to inspect before bringing into the house. They even spent extra time to explain the refrigerator and freezer cooling settings and how they impact each other ... a first for us. They also helped to determine an answer we had concerning a drawer within the bottom freezer area. I called for a small part and she said she needed to go check the shelf (their computer evidently has no idea about the current inventory). After a long hold she came back and said they didn't have it in stock and the it was not available locally and must be special ordered from out of state usually taking about a week to get there. i called another place farther away and they said they had many of them in stock as this was a very common part used by many manufacturers. read more

My first impression of Edward's was that it was questionable. They don't have a fancy showroom like the stores down in Rancho. But, they were willing to install a stovetop for me that the big fancy store would not even touch because of the type of ventilation it had. They did a great job! I could use the stovetop immediately. I ordered an oven/microwave combo from a place in Rancho because they were $500 cheaper. BIG mistake. Edward's will come and measure themselves to make sure the product you are buying will fit. If needed, they carry the materials needed to fit appliances that are too small for the cubby and can order the trim to cover any holes for a professional look. The installers from the big store were lazy and dropped the whole thing in the hole, not caring at all that it didn't fit. They didn't even give me any answers about how to fix the hole they left at the top. I ended up having to call Edward's back, and sheepishly ask for their help (and paying them for it, of course) even though I bought the item from a different company. After the bigger company did the installation, they left without showing me how it worked. They set it at 350 degrees and told me to leave it on for 2 hours. But I got an error that the cooling fan wasn't working. When I called them to send their installers back, they said only the manufacturer would fix it. So, I had to wait two days for the oven to be used. But, the manufacturer repair person didn't have the proper part, and has to order it, and I have to wait for a week for them to fix it. So now I'm without an oven for another week. Edwards came out and lifted the oven properly to fill the cubby, and measured the size needed for the trim. They noted that the original installers just dropped the oven into the hole, letting it fall about 1/8" lower than the hole opening. They perhaps should have been willing to put the lumbar in under the oven so it didn't leave a 2" gap at the top. It was also noted that multiple screws had been put in at an angle and that they just didn't take their time and do a good job at installation. The manufacturer also noted that the original installers left some shipping bolts inside the oven. After having Edwards come to the rescue, I ended up having to pay what it would have cost me to purchase this item from them in the first place. They know what they are doing and are professional, friendly, and I highly, highly recommend them! Don't get sucked into the fancy showrooms in the valley. Edwards A-1 is the best! read more

Needed a new dishwasher as our Kitchen Aid broke after 6 years. Called Edwards and the girl on the line very politely went over some options with me and we looked at them online. Dealing with an appliance shop is fantastic because they can tell you what models they frequently repair and more importantly what models they do not repair often. We decided on a Maytag model and the next day I drove down, they helped me load it up, and I installed it that night. Great experience! Support your small town businesses as they have way more knowledge than the guy at the big box who only knows how to read the tag on the appliance and repeat it back to you. I called to request a service call for a Kenmore oven that was not heating. The lady I spoke with was very polite and I got a appointment within a couple days. The repair man quickly diagnosed the problem and had the part ordered. A few days later, which was yesterday, Friday 4/10/20 I got a call that the part was in. He asked if I would like him to come and do the repair now so we could have our oven for Easter. I thought that was very nice even though we are not having our traditional Easter due to Covid-19, but still wanted to make a ham. My wife said the repair man was very polite and efficient. They were very knowledgeable in the store and found a Whirlpool microwave that would meet my needs for a reasonable price. I have bought replacement parts from them in the past (including an oven element that burned out the day before Thanksgiving), and the service has been friendly and intelligent, and the prices reasonable. I recently had the opportunity to by a refrigerator and dishwasher, and was very satisfied by help the salesperson gave - especially in light of some major indecisiveness on my part. Oven would not light. I knew it was either the igniter or gas safety valve, but feeling incompetent to work on it myself I called the only appliance repair I could find in the Placerville phone book. Bad time for the oven to go out. I was committed to cook a Thanksgiving turkey for my organizations annual senior dinner and here I was, 2 days before turkey pickup, without a functioning oven. Called Edwards at 8:00 A.M. and was surprised that they could be at my house in a few hours even though I live 45 minutes away.
