Such a helpful and honest business!! Our LG refrigerator water dispenser went out along with an error message on the front panel. I called EP Electronics because of the high Yelp reviews. Made a phone call and he said he could be out the very next day. He asked if I could text him more info. After he received my text he texted me back something to try out first. To defrost the unit, unplug the frog and leave the doors open for 8 hours. If this didn't work he said the fan would need to be exchanged. Well it did the trick! Eugene knows what he is doing. I called Wednesday and made an appointment for Monday, later realizing I would be out of town on Monday I called back to switch. Eugene said he was booked but would give me a call if something opened up, three hours later he called back and said he could be at my house in forty minutes (we live in San Mateo he's in San Jose). Whoo hoo! Our Viking Refrigerator and stove are a bit of a mess, and he fixed everything, ice maker, spark module, motor auger for ice maker, heating coil for something that made sure the water line to the ice maker did not freeze. He is extremely thoughtful and process oriented. No mark up on parts, the same you would pay if you ordered from the Viking Parts Distributor. He doesn't talk much, but when he does explains exactly what is wrong and what he needs to do to fix it. As mentioned in the other review he respects his work and it shows in his service. read more

Eugene is simply "brilliant"!!! EP Electronics is not your typical repair company and Eugene is not your typical "repairman". It's so rare these days to find someone with old world wisdom and high tech smarts. Eugene has it. We have used his services 3 times now. I hate it when I have had to use other "big name repair companies" that send out a different repairman every time. Often they are fresh out of 6 weeks of "tech school". Because of turnover nobody there knows the repair history my appliances which leads to more time wasting if and when follow up is needed. Eugene is honest and wise. Eugene is highly recommended. Repair was a Viking Fridge. The electronic part sent didn't look right so he wouldn't open the package until it was confirmed Viking modified the part. Once confirmed and installation started, he discovered it was not an exact fit and the connectors required modification to work on our older model. During his QA check, he found some other problems and fixed them. The time was well over what he planned i am sure, but he stuck with his original quote and even helped make some other adjustments for smooth operation. Left a message about diagnosing a problem with the switch for a downdraft vent for a GE range. Didn't get a call back. Called the next day and the guy tells me I didn't return your call because you're too far away. We're in the Cameron Park area, 15 minutes from EP Electronics. If you are having any AC problems, this is the company to call!!! Last week we had EP Electronics come out to our home to fix our AC unit, and man was I impressed with their service. Our AC unit went out last week- we were terrified we would have to go half the summer without a unit, but fortunately for Us, Technician Eugene was able to come out to our house right away. He assessed the unit, and it turned out we only needed to replace one part, not the whole unit. And what's ever greater about this- Technician Eugene had that part in stock and was ready to change it for us. I was pleasantly shocked of how fast and great their service is. I called Eugene on Monday afternoon and he was here the next day. We had problem with our GE Monogram microwave. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem right away. EP Electronics will be my first call next time an appliance needs help. We had a fan problem with a GE built-in oven. A little reading up on the problem suggested it would likely be an expensive fix. Eugene showed up right on time, pulled out the oven with a clever portable scaffold device he has, and went to work. There are two fans. After a little less than 2 hours he put it back together. He told me replacing the fans would be $250 each, just for the fans. Or you just eliminate the low speed setting and let them run at the higher speed all the time. It's a little louder that way, but not a big deal. Charge: $150. His explanation of his workaround, and why he did it that way, was very detailed so I got the impression he really knows his stuff. I called EP Electronics to assess the reason our 2.5 year old refrigerator was not keeping cool. Eugene came out that day. He checked the compressor and fan and informed they had no problems, so the only other failure would be a leak of the refrigerant. He explained that a repair of this nature would cost more than what I paid for the appliance. He suggested I check with the manufacturer warranty to get the refrigerator replaced. He only charged a nominal fee for coming out. Very honest man, who we will be sure to call in the future should we have another need. Apparently he also fixes A/C units. It's always good to know an honest A/C repair person so I will be keeping his number handy. read more

After having a very bad experience with a repair company in the Bay Area, we were finally given EPelectronics to call. Eugene told us he would be there in an hour and he was. He gave us an estimate which was quite reasonable and said he had the parts to fix our Viking stove top. He fixed one burner but had a difficult time with another as it was giving him false readings. After a frustrating hour or more with this, he finally discovered it was a bad switch. Replaced the switch; put the stove top back together and cleaned it up. The only additional charge was the bad switch. We are extremely pleased and feel we have a new stove again after ten years. Eugene is a super good person. read more
