I had a bunch of things to be repaired on a 2019 BMW 440i that I just purchased used from an out of state dealer and which came with a few issues. The main problem was a broken parking brake cable clip, which produced a scary scraping sound under high acceleration, a part that only costs 10$ but is a bit difficult to access and somewhat labor intense to replace. I got a wild spectrum of cost estimates from different shops for replacing that part and if you go to the wrong shop it can cost over $1k to repair due to labor estimates differing so wildly (including at the other indy BMW shop across the street of PD). Performance Dynamic replaced it at a fraction of the price BMW quoted me. They also offered an upgraded part made of metal instead of the fragile OEM plastic clip to avoid breakage of this part in future - some part I knew existed but none of the other dealers suggested. PD knowing about the upgraded part gave me sort of reassurance that they have done this particular repair before. As second problem I had some vibration under breaking issue which they diagnosed correctly as coming from warped rotors and after replacement of pads and rotors the car seems much more stable under braking. They initially quoted a price that was slightly higher than BMWs Value Service Special (BMWs promo price for certain services) for the brake pad+rotor job, but after a quick discussion with the parts supplier they could not only match but also beat the BMW Value Service Special price, while using the same parts. They even did a free alignment afterwards as well. Lastly they replaced my cabin filter (only charged small amount of labor) for a part I got from amazon. I would've normally just installed this by myself, but they quoted a reasonable labor price to replace that, so I just let them do that work as well and safe myself some time. Overall I was very happy with the service and communication. Service advisor (Azeem) and technicians seem knowledgeable and honest, prices are competitive and results seem great. I also liked that they send you quotes upfront electronically for every work item. You can approve these estimates electronically or ask questions easily by email or text message. But if you wanna have a call, they're also quick to pick up or return your calls (no annoying waiting queue like you sometimes have at BMW dealers). They charge a 3% credit card payment fee, but they made this very clear upfront and it's disclosed very explicitly in the estimates as line item plus included in the total, so no issues with that (unlike some other businesses which put stuff like this into fine print). I paid via Zelle so they removed the CC fee from the final bill and I paid in fact a little less than the approved estimate. Definitely recommend and I'll probably come here again in future for my BMW service needs. read more

Having picked up an e92 M3 a little over a month ago, I knew establishing trust with a competent mechanic/shop was going to be crucial. I would give this place 10 starts if I could! I've owned numerous BMWs and have worked with a few local mechanic shops before but ended up going to Performance Dynamic after hearing so many good things about his good work & great rates. My 2011 335is had a boost leak and was due for 100K service. I've called them and scheduled an appointment with Greg and told him what I need to get done basically. When I got there Greg pointed out everything that was worn / needed to be replaced. I got the car back in 4 hours and it runs great now! He replaced vacuum lines as well as some radiator hoses, cabin filter and cleaned my K&N filter even though I didn't even ask him (at no charge). After meeting Gregory at a car meet years back I had got to know him a little bit and realized he was very sharp and passionate about his automotive craft. Finding somebody who is not only intelligent but factory trained, dealer certified, and most importantly somebody who also cares for the quality of work they put out seems to be rare nowadays. After botched installs of many different parts my car had not run properly for almost 3 years. When I heard Greg had opened his own shop and I asked him if he could fix my single turbo 335. After discussing the details I brought the car to to him and he had it apart and ordered parts within the week while also working on other customer cars (we had established that my car was low priority if other customers were in need of service due to the complex nature of my single turbo). A week felt like a flash after I have been waiting for approximately a year for the first attempted install. Greg looked the vehicle over from top to bottom checking for coolant leaks, oil leaks and addressed other issues I had mentioned. In the 2 weeks my car was at the shop RUNNING! He had sourced all the parts we needed to repair the mistakes made in previous install as well as improved the car in many ways he did not need too re wiring headlight wires due to sloppy previous install, changing vacuum hose to a black color instead of a loud blue that was previously installed, and more. All small things but meaningful in showing his attention to detail. Again I will stress that is very rare to find somebody today who is as dedicated their craft and is obsessed with providing a good service and making sure that the customer is happy. I personally know because my car has been to many different people and most have turned out to be nightmares. Ive had nothing but great experiences here. So as all of you may know, or own a DCT transmission, The Bmw Oem Clutches are already maxed out in terms of power on the Stock S63TU engines. (M5-M6) etc.. well im tuned and all that power on a stock clutch will definitely accelerate the wear on the clutches. So i knew the right person to call @Performancedynamic . They did the complete swap to SSP SPEC R upgraded 900lb torque clutch. They got it done very fast and also explained to me how the clutch works and how it possibly went out. I will be uploading pictures so that you can see what my clutches looked like. Greg and Zach were wonderful to work with. You can ask them literally any questions and there super informative on the subject at hand. There scheduling was super easy and they also use an up to date system that actually sends you text message alerts about whats going on with your vehicle or when the job is complete. I took my 2011 BMW 335d here and was more than impressed with their service. The previous owner of the car had taken it here and had extensive emissions work done, that included replacing the DEF tank. The car developed a DEF leak that left residue on the bottom of the car and rear bumper. I called Azeem and explained the situation and that I was the new owner. He remembered the car and after talking a bit about the car he had me book an appointment. He was able to get it in prompty and called me later in the day. He said they had found a seal on the tank that was defective, or damaged during the installation. They covered the repair under their warranty and returned the car the same day. I also asked them to check the rear brakes and see if it was due for an oil change. When I picked up the car, Azeem told me I was a little early for the oil change and that rear brakes still had some life. The Ultimate Mechanics for The Ultimate Driving Machine ! My son suggested that I take my E60 to Performance Dynamics for it's next service appointment and I was very happy that I did. My 525i was experiencing a coolant leak near the front right tire and I wasn't able to locate the source of the leak. Performance Dynamic was able to quickly find the source of the leak - a hidden crack underneath the expansion tank - and replace the part. They also performed a full coolant flush and the total cost for everything was about half the price quoted by my previous shop and the work was top notch. Greg was great and he even took the time to show me the old tank and where it had failed. Greg also reviewed a few other things that I'll need to look out for in the future, like a leaking Oil Pan Gasket (nothing major yet). This shop has stellar reviews, but this was only one of the reasons I had my BMW serviced there. The main reason is that they quoted me a very reasonable estimate for a kind of repair that most shops do not even offer. Getting an appointment was an ordeal. It took months, like you are going to visit a specialist. In the meantime, my car developed other problems. So when it came time to service it, I asked them to diagnose what the other problems were. They did that for a $180 refundable fee. They found several items that needed fixing, with different degrees of urgency. In the end, I agreed to do some of those. The work was performed fast and I when I got the car back it had been detailed cleaned inside and out. This is a much better cleaning than what you get at the stealer. It turned out that they had correctly diagnosed the problems. So this place is competent, even more so than a typical stealer. No surprise, the shop owner is likely to work on your car here. So no complaints on the quality of their work. However, there are downsides, hence the 4 stars rating. First, their labor rate of $200/h. I am sorry, but that's unreasonably high. Second, they charge a 3% fee for credit card payments. This is the first time I see something like that at a car repair shop. Unfortunately, I missed that on the estimate, and only saw it at pickup time. IMHO this is unacceptable. Yes, the banks/credit card company will take a fee, but this should be considered part of the cost of doing business. Are we asked to pay a fee to cover your taxes? Your kids' daycare? Where does it stop? So, would I return? It depends. I think I made a mistake to let them work on non-essential repairs, because of their excessive labor rate. It makes sense to use this shop when (a) you get a good estimate, or (b) you have a difficult problem. And only have them fix that problem.
