I showed up about 30 minutes until closing time and the tire tech (Zack?) could not have been more helpful and gracious. I had a flat tire and needed the repair done ASAP so I could get out for some riding that afternoon. He was Super informative and actually took pride in doing the job correctly. The tube I had to replace was relatively new but completely split due to a faulty wheel lock that I wouldn't have known about had Zach not found it and pointed it out (the previous shop that mounted the wheel completely missed it). It may sound like a very simple thing but simple things sometimes lead to bigger problems. Attention to detail is key. Getting a flat on the trail is a huge headache so the fact that Zach did more than just go through the motions was a huge benefit for me as a customer. All the sales floor staff was also very friendly. Whoever's in charge of shaping the customer experience at this place knows what they're doing... Obviously, nothings perfect: its pretty busy on the weekends, but it still won't take that long to flag down a salesperson. Very disappointed in the "customer service" that I was reading about. I talked to Lance on the phone, he was very helpful, I bought a 6 volt trickle charger, when I got it home it didn't work. Two days later, with the receipt, I went back to return it. I was told the I didn't buy this charger from them. The package was for a 12 volt not a 6 volt. I was told "there are UPC codes on all items and we don't carry this one". Really? I am retail manager and I know how inventory systems work, I am not an idiot and don't appreciate being treated as one. I was furious when I left. When I got home I discovered that there was another identical box. I found their label on it. Luckily, even though I am evidentially an absolute idiot I managed to call back and talked to the manager, Bernadette I believe. So told me to come down and she would exchange them for me. I told her that I wanted a refund and promised to never darken their door again. I finally got my money back, after wasting over an hour when I just wanted to wanted an exchange. If their genius took the time to notice the charger and less time thinking that he was so such smarted than me he would've still had a sale. Instead, now I'm going to either Faye Meyers or Erico motors. By the way, this idiot needs and new helmet and belongs to a scooter club that has 25 active members. read more

A great place until you want to return something. I bought an Arai helmet that I was told had a 5 year warranty. Turns out that when I went to register with Arai because of the manufacture date being so old that it only had a 3.5 year warranty. I understand their no-return helmet policy, but this was clearly a deviation due to the helmet being sold as something it was not. I was told it had a 5 year warranty which it did not. I called them and they tried to "help" me by telling me what a great deal I got (just go away) and that I should exchange it for something else they sell that costs more and is a color I didn't want. I offered that if they discounted it a little more in exchange for the shortened warranty I'd be amenable to that. No dice, once they have your money it's a done deal. They finally relented and let me return it for a refund only because I had not worn it on the bike. So the short story is be very careful what you buy here, they will try very hard to deny your returns. As for me I will no longer be a customer, I don't like feeling like they are doing me a favor by correcting their mistake or accepting a return. There are plenty of other places to shop in Denver and there is nothing here you can't buy anywhere else or online, usually for less. read more

WOW!! So I have to say that I have only ridden a motorcycle on one occasion. A friend and I went dirt biking for my birthday out at rampart range. Needless to say we were riding his bike. Anyway we have a blast!! Finally the sort of expected happens, I wipe out. Hard. Although I walk away from the accident we come to find out that multiple pieces on the bike were bent and/or broken. Here I am thinking I am going to spend a fortune to fix up this bike. I put it off for two months and after speaking with friends around town I hear Performance cycle is the place to go. Somebody told me in regard to parts that "you cannot stump them." Still just because I heard they would definitely have what I was looking for I thought I was gonna spend a whole lot of money. Turns out my friend's bike is now running better than before 100% thanks to Christian. This guy saved me! My friend was convinced everything was wrecked beyond repair until Christian pointed out the exact source of every problem and the most simple ways to repair them. He completely took apart this bike's throttle and cleaned it, removed the clutch handle and found us a replacement, as well as the foot shifter which he also removed and found a replacement for. I was literally taken back by the amount of interest and sincere help we received from Christian at Performance cycles. If more mechanics, folks in sales, and part shops were more like Christian I believe more and more people would be riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. I can afford a dirt bike but until working with Christian at your shop I thought the maintenance and part replacement would be unreasonable. If I know I could always see Christian for help, I would probably purchase a dirt bike of my own. Good Work!!!! read more

My wife is hard to fit as far as motorcycle helmets go. The sales person helped her get the right helmet. He even changed out the padding to get it perfect. There is always a lot of staff there to help you. Man they have a huge selection of gear helmets jackets boots tires ect. The best in town. Prices are close to internet low with the bonus of service. read more

I went to Performance to try on Klim gear for a motorcycle trip i would be taking to Ecuador. As I walked in I was greeted 3 times by the time I made to the Klim gear which is a nice feeling. As I was trying to decipher the difference between jackets and pants an employee named Carl came to my assistance. He helped me with the different features and designs and then gave me some time to try them on and think about my needs. Each time I came to a question he was there to assist. Next we went to try on boots. This became a process as I was being very picky in what I wanted for such a big trip. Once again Carl described all features and led me to making the right decision. I Believe that this had taken roughly 3 hours so we decided to take a lunch break and come back. After lunch Carl was right there to assist again with helmets this time. They had every helmet I wanted to try on. I had purchased a helmet online but wasn't sure. I wouldn't recommend doing that. You have to try them on. So I bought a Shoei and returned the helmet I bought online. Next I had to purchase a helmet and boots for my wife for the trip because we live a 6 hour round trip drive from the store. After careful counseling we decided on the right gear. I bought a helmet that they had to try and order, which ended up not being available from the manufacturer. My wife luckily had to go to Denver for work and was able to try on helmets and they swapped out to the new helmet with no issues at all. Carl once again helped her make a better decision on boots. He even spoke with me over the phone to help our final decisions before she left. I'm writing this review after our trip and I am completely satisfied and impressed with all the gear we bought and used. We rode from rainforest to the coast and all altitudes in between from 14000ft to sea level and the gear was flawless. I could have bought my Klim gear online and saved a little money through the company we rented motorcycles from, but after the service and time I received from Performace there was no question I was buying there. I made the largest motorcycle gear purchase of my life and have not regretted anything. Good gear is worth every penny. So thank you Performance for exceeding all my needs and being patient and helpful. You don't get this kind of service in most places these days. I will be back next time I need gear and will stop in this summer when I ride down this summer. read more

They had a wide array of tires, graphics and other items for my dirt ride, as well as all the gear i needed for my street ride. The business is family owned and it shows in the way you are treated. I had to move fast from up North to pick up stuff from Performance Cycle of Colorado after helping a friend out, really wanted to get there before they closed. Got there in time, gave my name and all was good as I saw my tires for my ZX900A1 and a box marked Arai come toward the counter. I HAVE to have a Snell rated helmet M2005 or M2010 or I can't pass tech for any NHRA sanctioned event. As the parts guy walked up, I said "Cool, Tires and helmet are here!" Parts tech said "Tires yes, helmet no....". At this point I was a bit confused. To make a long story short, they made a mistake, apologized profusely and insisted that this was so wrong that they'd make it right no matter what it took.... By 7:30pm that evening, the owners of Performance showed up at my driveway gate to PERSONALLY hand me my helmet. I was blown away thinking "Who does this?". They took time away from their family and life to correct a wrong. In the owner's mind, this was an "inexcusable" mistake. To have the owners of this fine establishment show up at my gate and PERSONALLY hand me my custom ordered helmet is customer service beyond words and belief. Not only are their prices the same or better than can be had online, the staff's knowledge of fit and intended use of product is something that can't be had over the internet. Love this place - have been shopping here for quite a few years. All three of our kiddos race motocross and this is the first place we call when we are in need of something.............tires, tubes, sprockets, handlebars, oil, chain lube, grips, gear, helmets, goggles, tear-offs, boots - I could go on and on. It has been a rare occasion that they did not have what we needed. Everyone has always been very friendly and helpful and if we have had a question that one of their staff wasn't sure of, they have always gone above and beyond to get us the answer. I can think of at least a couple of times where we have called right before closing and needed a part for the weekend race but couldn't get down to the store in time and magically, that part showed up at our front door. id say its a pritty impressive store some some fairly smart people, from the second you walk in your blinded with trendy emo helmets and a swirling variety of colors that on second looks pans out to a wide variety of rideing gear, all accented by neon lights running the length of the walls, the staff is helpfull tho the young lady working ther now acts like shes abouve greating a costomer, ya kinda got flag her down to get her to help hahaha, um i baught a ton of parts and thee only one that was wrong was a drain plug ....they gave me one for a yzf ....not a yz.....however had no issues returing it, if you live in northern denver its quiet a drive to simply get access to aftermarket parts...but when you count how much money youll save between ther and a dealer.....youll be happy to make the drive.....i dig it its a nice place!!!! lotsa smiles!! We've been shopping at Performance Cycle ever since we moved to Denver a few years ago. We've always been very satisfied with our shopping experiences at the store. My review is based on all of our experiences, plus our most recent visit, in which we needed to make an exchange. My husband and I went into Performance to buy new helmets and worked with Faith and Rachel, both very knowledgeable about their products. We were sized and purchased our new helmets. After we got home, I ran into a problem with the helmet's fit about an hour into wearing it and was really concerned I was not going to be able to continue to wear the helmet. I called Performance and spoke with Christian who asked me to bring the helmet back so they could take a look. When I told Christian what was going on with the helmet, he immediately recommended a different style. Turns out I had the wrong helmet shape for my head. Took the new helmet home and could not be more pleased. I highly recommend the staff for their knowledge and excellent customer service. read more
