It takes an impressive customer service experience for me to post something like this...but my experience with Performance Auto Collision repairing my 2011 Hyundai Elantra Limited after being rear-ended was great! After visiting a number of dealerships I wasn't instilled with confidence on the abilities of their repair shops so I started looking at 3rd party shops to get estimates and after visiting Performance I was confident I'd made a good choice. I was a bit intimidated at first as they repair very high end vehicles, but my adviser Chris Allen made it easy and provided solid advice and direction along the way. I unfortunately have had to have my car repaired twice in the last 7 months. I chose Performance Auto Collision on the referral of a friend, even though it was 30 minutes away from where I live. They did good work, but the rest of my experience was extremely negative. It took 2 1/2 weeks to repair only approximately $2500 worth of damage (in comparison Toyota fixed my car in 5 days with $4000 damage last time). They tried to convince me to spend $1500 on top of my insurance deductible. When I refused, the customer service became extremely poor. I had to follow up and call repeatedly. I was promised a call twice and never received it to update me on the progress. I understand that this shop prides themselves on quality work, but this was ridiculous. And it appeared that when I refused to come out-of-pocket, I was dropped to the bottom of the list. I will never use this shop again and will urge others to bring their business elsewhere. read more

I brought my Range Rover in for very minor bumper work. I removed a front license plate and wanted the holes filled in. Yes, I'm that guy, I know every detail about my car and I keep it in meticulous condition - I'm the guy people want to buy cars from. It appears the repair work was done well - not sure yet, and the service guys in the front office seem to be very good. So, why the 2 stars? While inspecting the car for pick up, the rear step guard was not attached correctly - it ended up not being a big deal, they fixed it on the spot. After driving off I found grease marks in the headliner, grease finger prints on the inside door handles, inside rear handles, and a door ding! It was shaping up to be a great experience and then all of this makes me question the quality of the work. Very disappointing. read more

We had a major repair taken care of here a few months ago, and at first the service was friendly, everything seemed great (albeit a bit expensive), and guy who took care of us was really cooperative. But, we shortly thereafter had an issue with a leak that we asked for them to take a look at, and were told "No, take it to a dealer"; who clearly would be charging us additional money. I asked again if they would at least look at it, and was again told no, that it basically was my problem now. I asked if I could speak to the person who initially helped us with booking and overseeing the repair, and was told he no longer worked there. Definitely did not get the "customer first" treatment, or receive the benefit of the doubt, after giving them several thousand dollars- will not do business here again. read more

Unprofessional....enough said! But...if you want more..... The so called "free" estimate is only a ball park figure (mind you nothing is ever free.....basic economics so beware), in order to receive a "complete" estimate it will cost a few hundred dollars. Keep in mind that the "complete" estimate cost is not set in stone. The cost to JUST look at your car can (and probably will) go up when ever they feel it is necessary. After you have paid for the estimate and received the quote, the quote is not guaranteed. I was informed that the cost of repairs is open until the car is completed in the shop. The "guy" on the phone kept pressuring me to use my insurance company, said "it would be easier that way". Sounds like someone wants to overcharge for their services, doing this is much easier through insurance companies than through a customer wanting to pay cash for the repairs. He had no regard to anything I was saying. They do not care about the customer just the bottom line. Every time I used logical facts on him he would back track. He "attempted" (ha ha) to pressure me into thinking that his car repair place is the only collision center in the area that completes stellar services. What a joke! Whats the point of the so called estimate???? Are you guys not educated enough to make the decision? Do you really know cars? read more

I took my Porsche Boxster in to get body repair, based on referrals from some folks in my local Porsche club. Setting up my appointment was easy, and the guy who helped me (Justin) was super-friendly. The repair took a little around 2 weeks, and they communicated well every step of the way. The repair looked awesome, and they fully washed and detailed the car. Definitely a great experience. First, let me explain that to me, a car is not just a car. I wash my car weekly and I know every inch of it. I can't imagine a more demanding customer than I am. I must also say that body work and paint is an art, not a science, anything can go wrong, so don't look for a shop that is perfect, look for a shop that can manage issues when they come up. If you do not have time to read the rest of this review, know this, I have never dealt with a better shop of,professionals. From customer service, to body work, dealing with insurance companies and of course paint, these guys are flawless. My nightmare started one night when my car got in a fender bender on the way from work. It was minimum damage but the wheel wouldn't turn so the cops made me tow it to some god forsaken tow yard that proceeded to push me to us a specific shop. I was in a fog, so as soon as I realized that I wanted Performance Collision on the job, my car was already being load up to send to another shop! It was 7 pm and I called performance and their answering service gave me Adam's cell number so I called him. Who does that? Who answers the phone at 8 pm from their home? Adam did and I am very thankful he did. The next morning he had a flatbed truck go and pickup my car. It wasn't downhill from there, as we couldn't find bumpers because the manufacturer had none and didn't expect to have any for weeks. Adam reach out to people he knew and we found a bumper in the NE. During the process he would send me pictures of the metal work and painting being done. My car is done now and it looks amazing. I got it home and took a flashlight to it, looking for overspray, looking for poor or rushed work, but I could find none. I don't think anyone could tell it was in an accident. If you have a car you car about, use these guys. Performance doesn't cut corners. They do it right. There is a difference between shops so don't kid yourself. Use the best! This is an incredible body shop! My CR-V was damaged while parked and the whole left side of my front bumper was damaged. Justin was our rep and he gave us an estimate, helped with the insurance company, and the best part- kept us up to date as my car was being repaired. Today, Friday, I went to pick up the car. Google said they were open until 7:00, but be aware they close at 6:00 on Friday's! Even though I came a few minutes past 6:00, they still grabbed my keys and I didn't have to come in the next day. Several months ago, someone backed into my car door. My Land-rover dealer recommended Performance Auto Collision for the repair. Initially, I was reluctant because I live south of the city near the airport. Logistically, I thought it would be such a hassle for drop off and pick up. Boy am I glad I took the recommendation! He coordinated my rental, kept me up to date on all the communication with the insurance company, the extension of the rental car, and any progress in work, etc. The work done was spot on....you can't even tell there was ever an accident. We went in for an estimate for a Honda civic passenger rear side bump, they came up with more than double the price than from the dealer where we bought the car!! Fabulous group of professionals! We had a problem with our 10 year old van's sliding door. Rather than replace the entire door, an expense we didn't want on an older vehicle, they were able to provide a simple fix. I have taken several cars to Performance. Simply stated, there isn't a better company out there in the ATL area. If you want a body shop that looks out for you, then this is the place. If you want a body shop that looks out for the insurance company, then go somewhere else. Performance will not cut corners just to get cars sent to them by insurance companies. You can tell how good they are by listening to the way they try to push you to another shop using scare tactics. The insurance companies try to cut corners and reuse single use parts, to quote less than adequate time to make repairs, leaving it to the shops to figure out how they are going to fix it in that time allotted. The issue is that the insurance companies don't tell the shop to cut corners, they just tell them if they want to be a preferred shop then they need to save money however they can. This leads to incomplete repairs and poor quality paint jobs. This is not the case with Performance. My car looked better than when it was new! Adam the Manager is awesome read more

In the END, the paint job appeared good; however, it was a nightmare getting there and it has since become apparent that not much, if anything, was done to blend a painted door to an existing door. SMH. So, don't bother thanking me for liking the paint. That was after initially having problems. These folks are not detail oriented (in particular Ian) or focused on client satisfaction (in particular the Mgr, Adam). To go into all of the issues would take too much time, space, and energy. However, I am now awaiting a callback from the owner. If he does not reach out to me, I will contact the BBB, as I believe the insurance company was charged for something that wasn't done. Probably another oversight to add to the list. But, they should own it and let's move on. You have been warned... OAN Ladies, take your husband or partners. There is NO diversity represented in the employee personnel. I mean none. There were many condescending conversations, one which ended with Ian telling me "I've got work to do." That is how you address a complaint? Yes, it's about the 4th complaint...but when they are all valid, who should be agitated??? These folks may be concerned with SOME clients but I am proof they aren't concerned with all. read more

To express in words the amount of overwhelming satisfaction I have for this company would take up entirely too much space. I like to base my reviews on facts, not opinions (but my opinion of this company is very high). From the moment I walked in, this company treated me with the upmost respect. Everyone was friendly and professional. Every time I called someone was (always) there to answer the phone and had answers to my questions within minutes. I was never on the phone more than five minutes, which is very nice since my days are usually busy. I never had to wonder about the progress of my car because they called me with regular updates. When I was unavailable to answer my phone they left detailed messages so I didn't need to call them back. Now, about my car, I am completely amazed at the work they did. I was a little worried when I dropped off my car because my car is a 1 of 2500 and black (a color that shows every imperfection). I can not see anything that even hints there was a problem (and I looked very hard... Yes, I'm one of those people). The work they did was amazing and to top it off, my car was cleaned inside and out before I came to pick it up! Sadly, this is not the first body shop I have had to work with but this is by far the best one. I will never (ever) take any of my cars anywhere else. Performance, you have a customer for life! PS. I read in another review the writer instructed women to bring their husband or partner because women were treated unfairly. Very disappointed with Performance Auto Collision, who was repairing my older Honda Civic. The Civic was in excellent mechanical condition and according to the insurance adjuster, simply needed a new door after being side-swiped. After a week in the shop, Aaron contacted me and said more damage had been found. Aaron did not discuss the new estimate with me but stated he needed the insurance adjuster's contact info. Once the adjuster met with Aaron, I was told by the adjuster that the estimate done by PAC was roughly triple the original estimate and my car was therefore a total loss. As a customer, who chose PAC as my repair facility, I felt PAC should have informed me that the new estimate would have put the car close to or above a total loss (actually only $300 above a total loss). As a result, I lose my well maintained car to the salvage yard and PAC loses a repair. I must turn in my rental car less than 24 hours after their decision and also lose my Civic. I believe as their customer, PAC should have kept me in the loop and communicated that my car might be a total loss and offered me alternatives, such as reducing the repair to less than the Blue Book value. I just discussed all this with Justin from PAC and he feels that this problem was my fault and it's just my tough luck. I should have known that the new estimate (even though Aaron never discussed the new amount) might have put the repair above the total loss amount and that it is incumbent on the customer to know these things. I will not use Performance Auto Collision again. read more

First, I don't know how this body shop possibly has a "4+ star" rating. I suspect that, like many other merchants nowadays, they have people building up their ratings with fake reviews. Unfortunately, we fell into the trap of believing that their online reviews must be true. As for our experience... We hired Performance Auto Collision to repair a relatively minor portion of damage on a high end sports car. The repair took nearly 3 weeks and when we were finally told that the car was ready we were hugely disappointed in the results. The area of the car that was repainted did not match the existing paint job. After several lengthy conversations with the body shop, they agreed to attempt to re-blend. After another week we visited the shop again only to find that the paint job looked equally, if not worse, than the initial attempt. The manager however, had his entire staff (roughly 7-8) come out and stand next to the car and say that it looked perfect to them. Myself, my wife and colleague, however, all agreed that there was a very noticeable difference between the areas that were fixed and original portions of the car. After several more lengthy conversations the manager told me that this was the best that they could do and that my expectations were not reasonable. He said that this particular paint was difficult to work with and that no body shop was going to get a perfect match. (wish he had told us this in the beginning.) We told management that we were not happy with the paint job and did not feel that we should be responsible for payment. We told the manager that we would hire another shop to paint the car and would provide proof that we were rolling the insurance money into another paint job. Initially he agreed to refund payment but the following day he revoked and told us that they would not refund any portion of the payment. He told us that we would have to take him to court if we wanted our money back. After discussing briefly with an attorney we decided that the best action would be to sell the car and find a replacement. The time, money and effort to go to court to collect money only to attempt to repair the car again would not be worth the hassle. Long story short, this body shop may have some experienced technicians that do good work but they also have their fair share of employees who are not highly skilled/trained. And when they perform poorly, management seems to stand behind them no matter what. I would highly advise anyone who is looking for a body shop, especially if working on a nice car, to keep looking. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Performance. Over the past year, my vehicle needed a major repair due to a hit and run. My SUV looked perfect upon completion. Later, someone scratched the tailgate of my truck and I again took it to performance. Justin helped me and recommended a buff out instead of repainting the whole gate which would cost $3,000. It worked and again, looks terrific. Then, due to my midlife crisis, I wanted to customize my ride. Chase at performance looked over what I wanted to do and the group said they could help me with the project. Chase kept me updated throughout the process and when I got it back, I could not believe how great it looks! This company is amazing! And Chase and Justin are another reason I always look to Performance if I need something done to my wheels. They are very knowledgeable and their customer service is superb.
