AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Would give 0 if possible Definitely, a dozen other companies in the area that can perform the exact same services more efficiently and honestly. Had to deal with them regarding a service my mother was trying to have done at her home, namely excavation, removal and replacement of a sewage line. My mother, an immigrant and senior citizen, was dismayed by the prospect of excavation and rather than explain the need for this service in order to solve the problem ( which was manifesting as sewage back-ups through a garage drain into the garage and driveway) they convinced her into financing (4k) a different project which they claimed "may help" knowing full well the problem would only be solved by the aforementioned excavation. Naturally, they performed this service ( a total of 2 hour of work) and the back-up happened again within a week. Despite their "warranty" they did not follow-up or rectify their service in any meaningful manner and still obfuscated regarding the actual service necessary. The need for this service was transparently and efficiency confirmed by two subsequent quotes we obtained from additional companies in the area ( Precision and Robert Blair- highly recommend either of these as alternatives). In addition, to this "bait and switch" type of behavior, once realizing our dissatisfaction they began assaulting me with repeated phone calls, texts and emails in an attempt to explain themselves. I answered one of these calls and quite honestly became dizzy from the level of bullshit they were trying to feed me over the phone. I decided to try Perfect Home Services recently, as a friend told me about them. We have used a different hvac company in the past that we really liked, but gave Perfect a call when our furnace was making a really loud noise recently and we got the recommendation for them. Perfect was able to come out the next night, which was already a plus - I feel like I already have to make work schedule adjustments often enough for doctor appointments, pet vet appointments, car appointments, etc (you know, life!) that it was a relief to not have to re-arrange my work schedule to get our noisy furnace checked out. The technician that came out was very patient and informative, and after checking out the inside of the furnace and identifying the issue, gave us multiple possible options for how to resolve it, which I appreciate. I like understanding all of my options before parting with my hard-earned cash. I also appreciated his chill vibe, which puts me at ease when a stranger is in my home. Plus, customer service was communicative throughout the booking and scheduling process. I would definitely use Perfect Home again because the experience felt easy, comfortable, and overall very accommodating to me as a customer. read more

I made an appointment for around noon and finally get a call from the employee saying he would get to my place closer to 3:45-4 pm. Same excuse as last time .... SOOOO many people are calling with broken A/C units - we must service them 1st -- I've asked for the Manager CHRIS to call - I'm expecting I won't hear back. Don't use Perfect Home Services! I had a plumbing estimate and I also paid for HVAC tuneup/inspection. The plumbing estimates were ridiculously high. I mean way more than other estimates. They constantly try to sell their plan where you pay a monthly fee and get %15 off; but they're still overpriced even with a discount. The plumbing estimate was no harm except a waste of my time; but I had already scheduled the HVAC appointment in advance for the day after the plumbing estimate. The worker was extremely loud. I had to actually ask him to use an inside voice. He spent a very long time on the inspection; trying to find problems I suspect. He ultimately came up with a huge bill (thousands of dollars), saying the furnace was inefficient, old, and could fail any moment. The paperwork included a laundry list of expensive recommendations, but the fine print said "no issues found." I had told him I installed a new thermostat and asked him to check the wiring. He did look at the thermostat, but I discovered later that he turned the thermostat up to 75 degrees. 75 degrees on the coldest day of the year. I never turn the thermostat up that high. Even if he were testing it, he had no right to change my settings. Leave it like you found it. I believe he was trying to overwork the furnace and cause it to fail. He gave me his card, and suggested I could have a failure/emergency any minute. I recently discovered that the thermostat I had is incompatible with a heat pump, and my furnace was using auxiliary heat all the time. This caused my electricity bill to be extremely high. Hundreds of dollars more than it should have been. So Dave did not check the wiring/setup, and if he did, he didn't know what he was doing. I wish I'd seen these terrible reviews before I wasted my time and money. So do yourself a favor and stay far away from "Perfect" Home Services. read more

Such a waste of my time and money. I signed up for a furnace tune up and cleaning. The technician came in, took pictures of the sticker, told me the age of the unit, and said it was dirty. I asked if he cleans it, and he said "no we don't do that." It's an extra fee. I ended up being quoted about $1,200. I paid for someone to read me a sticker that I can see with my own two eyes. The coupon I had said FURNACE CLEANING AND TUNE UP. This man looked at it, stated the obvious, and then asked for my credit card. Also, I want to say this company preys on older people. My parents had the company come out the same day for the exact same service, and the man tried charging my dad a fee for just coming out. We had two excellent plumbers (Derrick and Tyler) come out and re-pipe my kitchen drain line. These two were not only very professional and hardworking, but I trusted them implicitly. They came by and said we needed a new furnace. I got someone over to quote a price that night. Both the technician and the salesperson were very professional and kind. The following day, they came to do the installation and they did a great job, very thorough. We were impressed. They were supposed to follow up with a plumber to fix another issue we paid for. They were supposed to call and check up on the installation the following day to take care of a $49 payment. They didn't make this call nor did they schedule the plumber. I have called 4 times since, different people, and have been unsuccessful in getting anyone to resolve this issue. Very poor customer service. read more

It gives me no joy to write this review, but this place is the worst. After hiring them to replace two air conditioning units and two furnaces, and paying for "platinum" annual service, I will never use them again. Every regularly scheduled maintenance appointment is cancelled and rescheduled, without fail. While I can appreciate that there are emergent issues that come up, the sad reality is that their scheduling department is woefully incompetent, or the company does not have sufficient staff to accommodate the schedule that they themselves make. The result is that you waste days waiting for your service appointment, and the best part is, they don't even call to tell you they aren't coming. On our most recent round, the technician came (a day later), he didn't seem to know what he was doing. He questioned why were were using a certain filter on an air purifier that we again bought and had them install. He then quoted $1,500 of maintenance on an air conditioner that they installed two years ago! These people are the worst. Go literally to anyone else. I regret the day I hired them. read more

Young single mom, my mom has cancer. Two females with no men in the home would be easy to take advantage of. This company did the exact opposite. We had a horrible backup and our toilet and tub overfilled with water and was leaking in the basement. They came asap the next morning and started working on diagnosing the issue. The technician told us what we needed and got it to a really low price. The next day two men came and did the job, it was more difficult than expected but they got it done. I could not have felt more comfortable with anyone else in our home. This company truly wants to improve quality of life and help those in need. They also have great communication. They called each time to update me, they even called after to ask how everything went. 1000/10 recommend Hvac and plumbing. Do not use this company! Cannot stress this firmly enough. Their main concern is selling a new system, not doing a check-up on the current one. The first thing out of his mouth was how old my furnace is and all the things wrong with it, this is dirty, this is leaking, etc. I asked him if he was going to clean or fix it which is what I called for and was told no, that is not included in the "tune-up". (I hired them to tune up the A/C - which he never even looked at). Don't use that $49 coupon, it is a $49 rip off. They won't actually tune up anything. anything for that. They will take it apart (make it no longer function) and then refuse to put it back the way they found it. The gentleman (loose term would be an understatement here) turned off the gas connection to my furnace as well as the power to AC/Furnace and refused to turn it back on. This company does not have the same quality service as the HVAC company they took over. Very disappointing. Perhaps I will edit this with some recommendations for good HVAC companies. My experience with them is awesome, yes there was a mishap but it was resolved, repaired what they damaged and went further to keep me as a satisfied customer. If you're a former JnJ customer, avoid this company! I thought I would give them a chance after using JnJ for years. The website and phone number for JnJ is still active but Perfect Home Services will show up to your house. Not the same family owned business that cares about their customers. Called through the JnJ number when my furnace wouldn't turn on to start the season and was displaying error code "42" - inducer motor fault. They said they were very busy but somebody could be out at some point the next day. I finally called in the afternoon the next day just to make sure someone would still be coming and they said they had nothing scheduled for me. Then they were able to find that I did talk to someone so they were able to fit me in a couple hours later. The tech showed up checked everything out and said it must have just been a fuse because he replaced it and it started working again. Great, the only thing I wasn't too happy with was he drilled two holes into the furnace I guess to check the heat exchanger for cracks. He didn't ask before doing this and from what I can see there are preferred ways to test this without damaging the unit. Three days later and the furnace stopped working again. I called them back and they said they could be there sometime the next day, this time I made sure to stay on the line until receiving the confirmation. The tech showed up early the next morning and basically said the board was fried, the blower was dying, the coils were rusted through, and the a/c unit was leaking refrigerant which was rotting the furnace from the inside out. He said based on the age of the furnace (13 years) I would be better off just getting a new one than spending all this money. He called the sales guy to come give me the a quote on an entirely new system even though this "tech" they sent seemed like more of a salesman already. The sales guy came and quoted us three outrageously priced options. I called multiple other places to get quotes for new systems and they were much lower until finally one company said our unit was top of the line and they would hate to replace it and offered to call a tech for free to check it out. This company's tech guy came and said the board was fine and that what we needed was, believe it or not a new inducer motor (error code 42). They quoted us a fair price and the furnace is up and running fine. Pretty unfortunate this company is like this after using JnJ for many years. A couple weeks after I had this place service my water heater (after they no-showed for the first appointment), I get a call from them saying that my name was drawn in their raffle to win a "free HVAC tune-up". Sweet. I book it for the next week and they give me a window between 12pm-5pm. The guy finally shows up at 7:30pm that night. (As many others have said, this place's scheduling practices are shockingly incompetent, but that's not even what this review is about.) Five minutes into my "free HVAC tune-up" I realize that it's not actually a tune-up at all, in the sense that the guy didn't actually "tune anything up". He didn't clean, lubricate, calibrate or adjust anything whatsoever. Immediately it becomes clear that this is just a way for them to get a tech into my house to give me a sales pitch for the ACTUAL tune-up/routine maintenance (which, surprise-surprise, is not free). Eventually, the guy presents me with a $3,000 estimate on his iPad, after standing in front of my furnace for almost two hours and ranting to me endlessly about it being dusty, pushing their monthly membership program, and telling me his life story, while I tried to get him to just finish whatever the "free tune-up" was and get out of my house. He actually thought that, following his sales pitch, I was going to just agree to have him do $3,000 worth of work on the spot that night. At 9:00pm. Finally, after ruining my dinner plans with my wife, I get the guy to leave around 9:30pm, but not before he asked if he could put a Perfect Home Services yard sign in my front yard, a magnet on my fridge, and stickers on my furnace, and if I would leave him a 5 star review. Given that they acted like I won the Powerball when they called me, I assumed that the "tune-up" would entail some amount of actual service work besides a pure sales pitch. But, no. Just a shameless way of giving you a quote, which literally any HVAC service company will do without the false pretense of acting like you won a fake raffle. Scumbags. read more

Called our old furnace company which had apparently been bought out by these people. Our furnace was quitting on us and was over 35 years old. A salesman came out and sold us a new furnace with installation. They came the next day and installed the new one. They had a new kind of thermostat that is computerized but we didn't have the right number of wires where the old thermostat was so they couldn't install it. The $659 charge was not taken off the final bill. My husband paid the $9000 plus by check which cleared the next day. The new furnace works fine however we also paid $950 in that bill for duct cleaning. When my husband told me we needed a refund for the thermostat I called the company and explained the reason they owe us a refund. that was in Feb. 2023. Talked to various people about the refund a month later and the people either didn't know who was in charge of the finances or they don't have a finance department. Finally got someone to say they will send the request for a refund in the form of a check. After I got that they gave me the same song and dance for all of April as well. Several times they did call back but here it is May and we still don't have a refund. I told them the last time I talked to them that I want a refund on the duct cleaning as well so now they owe us $1609. I want to go to small claims court but my husband says give them a little more time. They have had almost 3 months to make this right but it is his money. Don't deal with these folk unless you are a millionaire and can afford to just blow your money! Buyer Beware! Last year, we contacted Perfect Home Services when our water heater went out. They came and eventually replaced the unit with a tankless model--it took a few months, and a half-dozen service calls, before that tank could be counted on to heat water properly. The service people provide more sales pitches than diagnostics, and we eventually used them for plumbing , HVAC, and even were persuaded to engage in an annual maintenance service contract on all of the work they did. More than $10,000 and only one year later, we contacted them for said service, only to be told that they no longer service our area in Chicago. Hmmmm.....Regarding any refund of the hundreds we paid for the service contract that they are unable to fulfill, they have yet to call us back and settle this. read more

We signed up with this company after my long time company retired, Perfect Home services was the company taking over the previous customers. We have been sadly disappointed since the first visit. We'd singed up for the "VIP" package thinking we would be saving money, but the first visit they sold us on needing something done on the air conditioner that we hadn't ever heard of to the tune of $300!! We also received many texts about services they offered they thought we might be interested in. Don't try to solicit us, if we want something, we'll inquire about it ourselves! We did make our fall appt. after MANY reminders starting in the Summer, because were VIP's, but we weren't ready to schedule. We did finally scheduled them to come out and were supposed to get a phone call the day before confirming and the time frame they would be out. Instead, got and email, but no phone call. My wife waited 2 hours and finally called them. They said the time window was 4 hours, sometimes longer. She rescheduled for the following week for morning appt. They did call that day, and arrived in the morning. It took them over four hours and another sales pitch, costing us another $300! If you like companies that try to rip you off and think they can sell you stuff you don't need AND have nothing but time on your hands, then they are the company for you!! We have our a/c and furnace serviced by them because we paid a fee for them to do so. We hired them to just do an inspection and we're upfront with them that we needed the inspection details from them as we have a warranty on our big appliances due to buying a home with extremely old appliances. Again, we told them upfront about this warranty and what we needed them to do and help us with. We we're paying them of course. However, they tried to push us to have our appliances replaced by them which of course is expected but they were very rude when we told them we want our warranty to replace it since it would be much more cost effective for us. That wasn't the worst part, they were judgmental and made comments about things in our home that had nothing to do with their job. It was inappropriate. We've had about 4-5 of these men come from this company and every last one of them was rude in some way. I will not be going with this company again. read more

Perfect Home Services I can not express how disappointed and upset I am about this company. They are a predatory company and you should NOT call them. Their sales tactic is to have the customer guess what's wrong with the unit. I was told to look at a control board and guess what's wrong. I asked what the bare minimum was just to get my AC running, and the technician said a minimum of $3.5k to get it to turn on. For a full repair they estimated the cost to be $11k, more than the unit itself. The technician said I could get it replaced for around $5k-$10K, and at this point they send over a sales person. I had a bad experience with the sales person. Their pitch is that they have the best technicians, and that is why their installation cost is so high. Apparently all their technicians are six figured salaried employees, and that the closest family friends would have hvacs installed at $7.5k. I live in a 1400sq ft townhome, and they wanted me to purchase a lower end hvac for $12,300. After this meeting I was beyond stressed. I called another company (Harmonics) and they repaired my unit for around $1k. I firmly believe this company would not exist if it wasn't for botted google reviews. I hope the owner feels shame. I signed up for a "VIP" membership with Perfect Home Services, which included an annual AC maintenance, annual furnace maintenance, and a plumbing checkup. The first few visits were fine, though clearly the techs' job included efforts to upsell to more premium services. I was generally okay with this, but my latest experience was bad enough to write this review. A month or two ago, I was contacted as usual to schedule my spring AC maintenance. The company confirmed a date and even sent me a reminder. On the day of the appointment, I waited for a tech to arrive, and nobody showed up or contacted me. When I reached out to the company to ask about the status of my service and to get rescheduled, this is the reply that I got: "Unfortunately we have rezoned our Service locations and [your zip code] is no longer in our service area. I will have our VIP department give you a call tomorrow to refund you for the membership." This is pretty far off the mark as a response for wasting my time and taking my money, only to leave me looking for someone else to do service that should already be completed. The fact that their communication was reactive rather than proactive was especially frustrating. read more

I have used Perfect Home Services for the last 4 plus years. All in all I have spent over 10K in parts and labor. Last week my sump pump stopped working. I called Perfect Home Services and set up an appointment with the plumber for the next day. 10 minutes later I get a phone call from the person I initially talked with saying Perfect Home Services no longer services my area. I live on the south side of Chicago in the Chatham area zip code 60619. When I asked why they said they are downsizing and don't have as many technicians anymore. Need I say my area is in the heart of Chicago's south side and is predominantly black? So overpriced and poor service. Made a repair to a toilet that costed me $360. After plumbers left the toilet was making a dripping sound and kept refilling every fifteen minutes. This was not a problem we had before they worked on the other issue. Have the feeling they knocked something out of place in the tank. Called back to have them look at it and they did not have a replacement so cannot be repaired and now I'll need to purchase a new toilet. Kathy T I recently had a technician of Perfect Home Services at my property to do an inspection of our HVAC equipment, which is part of our VIP program that is paid on a monthly basis. The tech spent a couple of hours reviewing our equipment and left me an unbelievable estimate of repairs needed on our furnace and A/C units, to the tune of about $10,000! I had a second opinion on these units by a tech who has had 42 years of residential HVAC experience. He told me the units were in proper working order and the repair estimates were way out of line! I believe this is an approach in getting customers to agree to purchase new units. This is not a good way to conduct business and this type of misleading information is exactly what gives the service industry a bad name! read more

I called this company on Feb 26 to fix my toilet and paid them $750. I had to call them back on April 3 for the same problem (36 days later). They told me that they no longer service my area and there was only a 30 day warrantee on the work, so they couldn't fix it and they wouldn't refund my money. Horrible way to conduct business. Is this the type of service you get for a $15,000 A/C and heating system purchase nowadays? * Packaging material left inside the furnace and discovered at the first maintenance service call approximately 6 months down the road. * We purchased replacement filters from Perfect Home and they provided us with the wrong size. * The humidifier we purchased with our furnace and A/C system was never turned on during the installation process and was discovered when the pressure switch was replaced approximately a year and a half later. * Our furnace was not working properly within the first year and a half, so a full battery of tests was run to determine that the pressure switch was bad. Perfect Home never told us that it was a faulty part and was a recall item. If so, why include a proven faulty part on a newly installed system. Perfect Home scheduled an appointment to install the new pressure switch once it arrived after being ordered. Perfect Home cancelled the appointment to install the pressure switch a few days before a winter storm hit that was going to produce extremely low temperatures. The furnace stopped working during those low temperatures on the weekend following the cancelled service call, and when we called for emergency service on Saturday, we were told that they were booked up for Sunday. We were in our home for 36 hours without heat and a temperature of 12 degrees outside. When the technician came the next day to install the pressure switch we were told that they don't work on Sundays. Victor P. read more

Received a call from PHS telling me that my past provider (JNJ) was purchased by PHS and that PHS would be taking over the maintenance contract that I had with JNJ. Without hesitation I scheduled my service appt for this past Monday. The Tech seemed more concerned with getting 5 Stars on the rating and I felt he didn't clean/service my unit properly. At the end he recommended that I change out my 18 year old HVAC system. I knew I was getting close, so I had them provide an estimate. Estimator provided an instant quote. He was pushing for the work claiming that his installers were slow and he could install as early as 2 days later. *He seemed disappointed that I didn't sign on the line instantly. *PHS quote was 20%-30% higher than other quotes I received. *Financing options had additional costs tied to them, but estimator kept referring to them as same as cash. *The experience felt like I was buying a used car or shop at home carpeting. I would recommend finding someone else to service your HVAC system. read more

Am new to the area and bought a house with a 24 year old heater. Saw a coupon in ValPak and had Perfect come out to check the furnace for the upcoming season. The technician was very nice and efficient. No pressure but he did remind us the furnace was old and might not work much longer. At the end of winter we were having some issues so called Perfect. Technician Jeff came out and was very professional and courteous. He explained everything very clearly and we decided instead of fixing a 24 year old furnace that we would replace it. Jeff arranged everything and the next day Stephan and Dan came out and replaced the furnace. They were very efficient and professional. Even let us video them to have instructions we could refer to - much easier than trying to remember everything or using a manual. Our experience with them was in a word - Perfect. read more
